Imagine my surprise upon discovering my old house is now a B&B! My bedroom was "Helen's Room" ironic since my mother's is Helen! Imagine that room covered in the teen heart throbs of the time: David and Shaun Cassidy, Donny Osmond etc...It was a wonderful place to grow up. The best part was the sun room porch. In the fall we made apple butter on the edge of the "forest" close to the hill. Now that I look at the pictures through the eyes of an adult, it is a wonderful bed & breakfast. I hope all who stay there enjoy it's peacefulness as much as I did! Sabrina
Only place I will stay from now on in Meadville!

short version: best place for anyone, but especially families, to stay in Meadville!
Long version: We (husband, 2 preteen daughters, and myself) stayed at Bethaven for my reunion. We stayed in the Eileen and Barbara Jean rooms on the 3rd floor, which meant we had the whole floor--2 large bedrooms separated by a small sitting area (additional sleeping space if needed) and bathroom. The rooms are decorated with beautiful antiques but more important everything is designed with both comfort and function in mind. The 3rd floor is directly beneath the roof so the ceiling slopes down on both sides, with dormer windows. There is a window seat in each room (& a fitted bench under the 2nd window in the Barbara Jean room, so really 2 window seats in that room). The Eileen room has a desk and sitting area. The furniture is well positioned so you feel cozy, not cramped. The bathroom is adorable but may be too tight for comfort for some adults. My husband and I are of medium build and were fine, but someone with a larger frame may have a harder time. The sink and commode are under the highest point of the roof, while the tub/shower combo is under the sloping part. My husband and I are relatively tall (6" and 5'10") which required ducking during showering but was doable. A dorm fridge with working freezer is in the hall. Anything that you might possibly need is already provided and conveniently tucked away in the rooms. While we didn't stay in any of the other rooms, we were able to peek in them--the 2nd floor has large bedrooms and large bathrooms with the same beauty, comfort, and functional design. Breakfasts were delicious (croissant french toast or baked apple pancakes with sides of pineapple dishes and turkey sausage) served in the sun room. The public areas of the home and gardens are equally well designed, including the outdoor rope lights left on all night (made walking back at night much nicer).
Gary and Kathy are excellent innkeepers and truly wonderful hosts!
Bethaven is the Best!

Take a beautiful home with amazing character and charm, place it on a quiet brick street, surround it with colorful Rhododendrons, add two very welcoming and gracious hosts, set a table with Gary's unique, delicious breakfast creations, and you have Bethaven Inn. We had a great experience at Bethaven and would highly recommend it to any traveler whose grown tired of the same old Holiday Inn. Brett G.

Our family absolutely loved staying at bethaven inn, the food, service, rooming, and location couldn't be more ideal for the family of a student at alleghney college. We will surely be coming back, and the owner is also very nice

Kathy and Gary were very accommodating and the room was perfect for the stay. The breakfast was perfect and was a great way to start the morning. The house and common areas are inviting, relaxing and very well-stocked. I will be staying here again soon.

Perfect Little Get Away

We received a gift certificate from a friend to stay at the Beth Haven. My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B before, so we were a little apprehensive, and when we first arrived we did feel a little nervous and awkward. However, as time went on, we ended up relaxing and we enjoyed our short stay (in the Helen room) at Beth Haven. The bed was very comfortable (loved the heated mattress pad!), the home was beautifully decorated, and breakfast was delightful. Gary even whipped us up seconds! I enjoyed chatting with Kathy about local history and her family history as well. I can not stress the beauty of this home enough. Truly, it is breathtakingly decorated and I love how Kathy and Gary put so many personal touches in the rooms of their personal histories.

Within walking distance of Allegheny College, the Bethaven Inn was outstanding in every way. The room was so comfortable and Kathy and Gary truly thought of our every need! We definitely will be going back.
A Definite Must See!!!

My husband and I have stayed in many B&B's over the past few years, and The Bethaven Inn, in our opinion is on the top of our list!! We informed Gary that we would be arriving late in the evening, and Kathy was waiting for us with a smile on her face :) The room was so warm and welcoming and the bed was great!! Gary cooked a DELICIOUS breakfast and grabbed a cup of coffee and we enjoyed a very pleasant visit with him. We will definitely make a return visit and highly recommend The Bethaven Inn to anyone looking for a wonderful B&B in the Meadville, PA area!!
