The Alden House Bed and Breakfast, circa 1850, is located in the charming and historic town of Lititz. All rooms and suites have private baths, queen size beds, and tasteful furnishings in a restful decor. Begin your day with a gourmet breakfast by candlelight, relax on one of our many porches, and walk to nearby museums, attractions, shops, and dining.
The Joshua Room- Cozy for couples or for single travelers, the Joshua Room is located on the first floor, at the very front of the house and is convenient for all guests. it is the brightest of our rooms and sports the tall ceiling and windows traditional to the period of the house. Guests enjoy a queen bed, cable, an LCD TV/DVD player, private bathroom, and two comfortable Queen Ann chairs—perfect for reading a good book while relaxing in the warmth and ambiance of an electric parlor stove.
The Scandia Room- Step into a little piece of Scandinavia with this warm, welcoming room. Decorated in dark shades of red, the room features an intricate, antique, wood floor, only recently uncovered and refurbished. Located in the center of the house, on the second floor, the Scandia room is by far the most peaceful. With a queen bed facing a wall-mounted LCD TV/DVD player and a comfortable pair of Queen Anne chairs, relaxing in this cozy room is no chore!
The Alethea Suite— Light and airy, the Alethea suite is on the ground floor of the house. It features a delicate pencil post queen bed. The wood tones are carried throughout the suite with the newly updated wood floors and an antique desk—perfect for writing letters. Warm up with the electric parlor stove, or relax with the entertainment of one of two TV’s, one with a DVD player and one with a VCR. Also, the Alethea suite has it’s own private entrance—french doors off of the bedroom.
The Parlour Suite- Spacious, bright, green—all words that come to mind when describing the lavish Upstairs Parlour suite. Floral arrangements adorn the large arch that separates the entrance from the bedroom, where the queen sized canopy bed adds an elegant touch. An awe inspiring, patterned wood floor also draws attention upon every visit. On the second floor at the front of the house, the Upstairs Parlour features seven windows face north and east, which draw natural light into the room. Within the suite, stairs ascend to the dormer room where a white-and-brass day bed awaits—along with the second of two TVs.
The Lilac and Lace Suite- Adorned with lace and purple flowers –from delicate wisteria to bold hydrangea—the Lilac and Lace Suite truly lives up to it’s name. A four-poster bed, topped with a semi-canopy of lace, quickly becomes the focus of attention upon entering the bedroom, but a closer look reveals other beautiful details—for instance, the large window seat and the newly refinished wood floors. The sitting room boasts a pair of comfortable chairs and a day bed to accommodate a third person. Also, from the sitting room, guests have access to our balcony, which overlooks the garden and fishpond.
The Tea Rose Suite— The most luxurious of our suites, the Tea Rose Suite is on the second floor, at the back of the house and is the quietest. The sitting room boasts tall library cases—one of which hosts a TV/VCR. With two plush wingback chairs, it is ideal for relaxing. Also, a door from the sitting room allows access to the balcony. The focal point of the bedroom is a queen sized brass bed, but in the corner is a large propane fireplace flanked by two swivel recliners, allowing guests to experience the fireplace or the wall-mounted LCD TV/DVD player.
The Carriage House— Converted from the original outbuilding, the Carriage House is a small cottage unto itself. The Carriage House boasts a bedroom area with a queen sleigh bed, facing a wall mounted LCD TV/DVD; a sitting area with twin leather recliners, and a small kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, barn-wood counter with a bar sink and a single-cup coffee maker. Cold drinks and coffee are complimentary. Also, the bathroom in the Carriage House is one of a kind, tiled in Travertine and possessing a shower endowed with luxurious body sprays, hand held shower and rainfall shower head.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Alden House. It was perfect and charming in every way. The location is so great, just walk out the door to all of the Charms of Litiz. Our room was so relaxing and had every amenity . There was also a lot of closet space for all of our wedding attire, as we were there to attend a wedding nearby. I would love to come back in warm weather, and take advantage of the lovely porch with rocking chairs. We would highly recommend this lovely B and B to anyone. The owner was kind and helpful, and the Breakfast DIVINE !!

We had such a wonderful weekend in Lititz at the Alden House. The power was off on the whole street when we first arrived, but the owners were very apologetic and accommodating. The room was adorable and just as I had hoped for. The bed and pillows were surprising comfortable! Our room was at the front of the house, but we didn't get disturbed from the traffic on the street or from people in the rest of the house. Breakfast was tasty each morning. The owners came around at breakfast to ask us our plans for the day and offer tips on things to see. The inn was close to all of the downtown attractions and we could walk to everything. I'm glad we chose Alden House and would definitely return the next time we head to Lititz!

Everything was great right in the heart of Lititz so it is a good base for exploring the area.

Lititz is one of the best small towns in America, and the Alden House is the best B&B in Lititz. Charming and accommodating in every respect. Highly recommended.
Thank you. We try to make everyone comfortable and look forward to seeing you again.
