Shining Dawn Bed and Breakfast Retreat Center
Enjoy an unforgettable stay in our magnificent, brick and brownstone Queen Anne near the center of historic Hanover, Pennsylvania. Built in 1902, the home features numerous stained glass windows, in-laid oak floors and paneling, beamed ceilings, carved mantles, and a bright, airy ambiance. Our gracious home and serene garden provide quiet, cozy private spaces for individuals, or large, open spaces for group events.
History abounds here. Cavalries clashed during the Civil War Battle of Hanover on the street in front of our home. The Gettysburg National Military Park and York, Pennsylvania, our nation’s first capital, are only minutes away.

Take I-295 toward Baltimore. Exit onto I-695 north toward Towson. Take exit 19 onto I-795. Take the MD-30 N / MD-140 E exit (EXIT 9A) on the LEFT towards HANOVER. Merge onto MD-128 N / BUTLER RD. Turn LEFT onto MD-30 / HANOVER PIKE. Continue to follow MD-30 (Crossing into PENNSYLVANIA). MD-30 becomes PA-94. Turn RIGHT onto PA-194 at the Hanover Square and move immediately to the left lane. Follow PA-194 as it becomes Broadway and bears to the LEFT. Continue about two blocks to the fourth home beyond the AMVETS sign on the left.

- Cancellations:
Two Weeks Notice:
A full refund will be made if notice of cancellation is given at least 14 days in advance of the reservation date(s).
One Week Notice:
A $25.00 late cancellation fee will be charged against the deposit if cancellation is made with more than six—but less than 14—days advance notice.
48 Hours Notice:
A conditional deposit refund minus the $25.00 late cancellation fee will be made if the cancellation is made with more than two—but less than seven— days advance notice and the room(s) can be re-booked for the dates in question. We will make a serious effort but we can't guarantee that the room(s) can be re-booked with such short notice. If the reservations cannot be filled, we reserve the right to retain the full deposit.
Less than 48 hours, no-shows, or early departures:
This situation is not fair to other prospective guests, nor would it be fair to us. Under these circumstances, unless there is some dire emergency, there can be no refund of deposit.
