Located on the second floor of the Victorian inspired rooms in the Lane Studio building, you’ll take two steps down into a room that we can imagine Photographer Dorothy Lane might have used as a personal retreat during the years in which she and her husband , famed photographer Walter, ran the Lane Studio here. A queen size bed graces this green floral room, nestled beside an armoire, and a comfy overstuffed chair. The microwave and refrigerator may tempt you to truly hide away for a bit. This room also opens onto an outdoor balcony, and the bathroom contains a large Jacuzzi tub for two. Amen

President Eisenhower did visit the Lane Studio where he was photographed by Walter Lane. We can’t say he stayed in this large stylish and elegant room, but we’re pretty sure that you’ll love it. My boyfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway from the DC area, so on a whim I booked us the Brafferton Suite and was not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, everyone was friendly and helpful. Our suite was absolutely beautiful. Between the enormous. comfortable king bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi for two, and Keurig machine in our room, we experienced the perfect space to relax and recharge. We were not located in the main house, and so there was no noise from neighbors. Both breakfasts were incredible. The owners cook completely different menus every morning and offer fresh fruit and scrumptious pastries in addition to the main dish. Gettysburg itself is a very friendly town where the local shop and restaurant owners treat you like friends rather than strangers. When you're done shopping and dining. I recommend touring the battlefield. It is a truly humbling experience. If you run out of places to visit in Gettysburg proper, there are several wineries and vineyards in the area. It's only a 45 minute drive from Hershey and Indian Echo Caverns (both are really cool places to visit!), and about an hour from the Turkey Hill Ice cream factory. I would rate the overall experience higher than Outstanding if I could. I highly recommend this Inn and will be returning regularly!
