We came to Gettysburg to do a girls weekend away and had a wonderful relaxing time at the Keystone Inn. Mike was very helpful and provided us with lots of information on local attractions. The Inn has a complimentary Gettysburg audio tour for guests to borrow. Keystone Inn is large, well maintained and even though there were six couples there we weren't on top of each other and it was a quiet weekend. Our group commented that it was a nice location, just outside of the busy downtown area. We had a great time and will be back. Highly recommend the place. The Sisters and Sister-in-laws from Maryland

Our stay was very, very nice. We wanted to be near town, but not actually 'downtown' with the hassles of parking, and this location was perfect. We definitely could have walked, but chose not to because of timing for our dinner. The house had been restored to its grandeur years back, and Mike has been doing an excellent job keeping it looking its finest. He prepared a wonderful breakfast for us, and it clearly shows that he takes pride in his cooking. We also thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with him during our visit. We stayed in the General Reynolds room which was very, very comfortable.

My girlfriend and I decided to plan a last-minute weekend getaway to Gettysburg (which I would highly recommend to anyone). I found the Keystone Inn the night before we drove out there and was able to easily secure a room despite the last-minute nature of this trip. And I am very satisfied with what we got. Mike, the owner, was very courteous - offering us brownies upon checking in and giving us a brief tour of the house and room. The accommodations were very clean. The breakfast he cooked for us the next morning was delicious. And, on top of all this, the pricing was extremely affordable. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone, especially if you are looking to remain close to downtown (it's only a 5-10 minute walk from here).

My husband and I spent this past Valentine's Day there for the weekend and loved this place! Awesome service, extremely clean rooms/home and great food. Loved it so much we are planning to make it a tradition to stay there every Valentine's Day!

Inviting environment. The rooms were very quiet. Removed from the beaten path but within walking distance of town. No town noise or traffic. Good parking available. Liked the low music that played in the dining room....would have been nice to pipe that low volume music throughout the hallways. Would definitely return for a future stay!!!

This was our third time staying at the Keystone Inn. As always it was a pleasant experience. It is located in a quiet neighborhood but it is still close enough to all of the attractionns, battlefields, dining, and shopping. The innkeepers make sure that your stay is enjoyable. Excellent rooms, and the meals were first rate. Joseph & Susan Seaver

This past New Year's Eve was our third New Year's Eve at the Keystone Inn. We like the General Greene Suite on the top floor with in suite bath and second smaller room with a second TV. My wife gets up before I do and this lets her putter around, get the news and read without waking me. This place makes you feel comfortably at home, and what a home! The rooms are warm and comfortable. The General Greene suite has a gas fireplace and small heater in addition to the radiator heat. Even though we are on the third floor, the hot water comes up very quickly and there's plenty for a nice shower. The towels are fluffy and there's shampoo if you forgot yours. On one of the stairway landings, Mike has an "Honor System" collection of personal hygiene items, OTC pain medications, and toiletries, just in case……. I don't know where Mike and Marge store all of the Xmas decorations after Xmas, but it must be a very big place. Wow. The Xmas decor really adds to the already beautiful house. Keystone is a nice walk away from the square in Gettysburg. The house is brick built and very, very sturdy. That translates into a very quiet atmosphere. Hanover street is not a main road so traffic noise is virtually non existent. There's plenty of parking around the house, even when they're completely booked. Breakfasts are plentiful and tasty. We're not much into sweets in the morning and Mike (the main cook and bottle washer) knows that and has a nice balance of nutritious offerings. We always enjoy talking with other visitors at breakfast. He always leaves cookies or brownies under glass in the dining room for afternoon or night time snacks and there's always a large variety of tea and hot chocolate available in the dining room and a large coffee urn. He and Marge know the good places to eat. We like Sidney Willoughby Run for fine dining and Food 101 for more casual but very good food.

Located a nice walk from the town square on a street with little traffic, The Keystone Inn B&B is our favorite in Gettysburg. We just spent two days there over New Years. Our third such visit in three years. The house is made up for Xmas - Lovely. Even without holiday adornments it's a beautiful and well kept up place. We like the third floor Gen. Greene Suite - comfy pillow top king bed, extra room with day baed, TV and fridge. Bathroom is clean and updated. Breakfasts are good. Mike likes to cook. There are always goodies on a glass covered plate. Coffee and a wide assortment of teas always available.

We have stayed at the Keystone Inn many times over the past 12 1/2 years. Mike and Marj have maintained a beautiful Inn coupled with excellent service and mouth watering breakfasts. The Inn sets on the north east edge of the Gettysburg battlefield, quietly secluded from the noisy tourist district. Whether for an extended stay, or just a night, you will be pleased with your experience at the Keystone Inn B&B.

This 1913 home is conveniently located for touring the Gettysburg battlefield and adjacent attractions. Our room was beautiful, very quiet and the king bed was perfect. The large front porch was a nice place to have our morning coffee and the breakfasts were varied and a good start to each day.We would definitely stay there again.

Mike and Marj are wonderful hosts. The rooms we had were very comfortable and the house was beautiful. The breakfasts were so delicious. We would definitely stay here if we are in Gettysburg again. If you come, check out their library. Besides all the wonderful Civil War books, the house scrapbook is very interesting.

Staying at the Keystone Inn is just like being at home, only better. I was made welcome from the moment I arrived, the rooms are lovely, clean and spacious, the public rooms are perfect and the whole Inn has a homely feel. I really enjoyed my stay there, I only wish I could stay longer.
5 on October 02, 2015
If you want to stay in Gettysburg and be away from the crowded parts of town, this is the place for you. The house was decorated in a nice fall motif. Mike and Marj are gracious hosts and provide lots of information about what to do in Gettysburg and restaurants. I stayed in the General Johnson Room, a cozy space with the bathroom across the hall. The breakfast (which I'm classifying as "Onsite Dining") was delicious and filling (French toast, sausage, fruit, choice of juice, and a muffin). The neighborhood is fine for a morning or evening walk. I've been to Gettysburg many times. I'll stay at the Keystone Inn again.

My husband and I stayed in a suite for our honeymoon to Gettysburg, and have stayed here in the past as well. Each time, Keystone Inn has exceeded expectations. The rooms are gorgeously decorated and impeccably clean. Breakfasts are delicious and filling. The innkeepers are not overbearing and you truly feel at home during your stay. We will likely never stay anywhere else!

My husband and I loved the Keystone Inn. Mike, our host, was quite helpful in terms of providing information and making recommendations. Our room was extraordinarily comfortable. Breakfast, by the way, was delicious! We both highly recommend the Inn. When we return to Gettysburg, that's where we'll stay.

They stay started out great with Mike welcoming us like we were family and showing us around the party. He was quick to give us the ins and outs of the area and provided us with some great suggestions of things to do. He let us borrow one of his battlefield tour CD's and that proved to be great as we were able to take in the scenes of the battlefield and get a great narrative from the guide. The bed was very comfy and the sheets gave that cozy field and we had one of the best nights sleep we had in a very long time. The breakfast in the morning was top notch and something I do not think we could recreate or find in any restaurant. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Gettysburg. Highly recommend this place!!!!!

Rooms well-appointed and comfortable room. Be aware not all rooms have private bathrooms. Period architecture and decor was charming, not overstated. Breakfast was good, interesting to meet other guests at breakfast and hear about their day.
Thank you for staying with us at the Keystone Inn. I must respectfully disagree with your statement about bath facilities. ALL of our rooms have their own private bath. We have one third floor room which has the bath across the hall, but it is not shared with any other room. All of the other rooms have the bath directly connected to the room. Thanks again!

My (adult) daughter and I stayed at the Keystone Inn for two nights while visiting the area. The house is beautiful and well cared for. The owner, Mike, was very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was delightful and filling. This was our first stay at a B + B, and we both wished we could have stayed longer. The Keystone Inn was, in fact, "Outstanding" in every category!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The innkeepers are friendly, helpful and genuinely nice people. The breakfasts were sufficient to start your day of touring the battlefield. The inn was clean and the property was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown. It is a short walk to the town square, and a short drive as well to the Visitors Center and battlefield. Highly recommend the Keystone Inn.

We were only in town for one night, but the experience at the Keystone Inn was fantastic. The location was perfect - close enough to the city and battlefields to be convenient, but far enough to be peaceful and separated from the noise. Mark was a great host, accommodating our arrival time and providing tons of information. He even lent us an audio tour CD for Gettysburg so we didn't have to purchase one. We would definitely come back to Keystone again!!

We recently spent the week at the Keystone Inn. The Inn is beautiful and decorated with antiques. Mike and Marj were great hosts. They were available when you needed something, but otherwise they gave you your privacy. The Inn is located near the outskirts of town so it is much quieter than some of the other B&B that are located downtown. The breakfast were very good every morning and I especially like the cookies/brownies.that were put out every afternoon about 4:00.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Keystone Inn during my trip to Gettysburg. I spacious home was clean and inviting, and the charming, vintage decor gave the sprawling home and rooms a homey feel. The free wifi and AC were a big plus. It was close enough to town that I could have been adventurous and walked, but opted to drive. The owners were courteous, the food was filling and tasty, everything was clean, and over all, I enjoyed the Keystone Inn! Highly recommended.

Had a great stay at Keystone! The owners are very welcoming and accommodating. Room was very nice and clean. Easy walk to downtown, only a few blocks. My only suggestion is a healthier option for breakfast - although it was delicious, I just prefer to start my day with a bit more protein and healthy carbs vs heavier or sweet dishes. Overall, I'd recommend them highly!

My husband & I enjoyed our short winter stay at the Keystone Inn. Our purpose in staying was to see the sites in Gettysburg. We were well located, the owners were friendly and helpful. Our room was on the first floor, so we were close to their delicious breakfast and places to just sit & relax. There were also baked snacks put out for us when we returned home after touring. Being winter (almost spring) we were the only guests, so it was very quiet &, also, clean. Upstairs there is a library of books about Gettysburg and the Civil War, plus they loaned us a CD tour of the battlegrounds. Our room was fully equipped and comfortable. Since I usually woke up before my husband, so I would get dressed and take my computer & book out into the living room or dining room to read until breakfast. It was like being at home. I would stay here again.

it was a nice enough stay. the rooms were clean enough although there was a hair in the bathroom when we arrived that was not ours. that is one of my personal pet peeves. the breakfasts were not extravagant by any stretch. we have stayed at b&b's that definitely gave a more gourmet option. the innkeepers were nice, & knowledgeable about the area, although they were very chatty. all in all, we'd probably stay again to give the inn a second chance.

This was our first experience staying at a B&B and we were extremely impressed! The house was fantastic and beautifully decorated. The hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and eager to share tips and recommendations. The brownies at reception were a delicious touch and it was fantastic to have hot tea and coffee available at all times- especially when returning from being out in the cold. The rooms had individual heaters to make our stay more comfortable. To end our stay, the breakfast was very tasty and filling. Everything was perfectly cooked and there wasn't a bite left on our plates. I would definitely stay here again and recommend Keystone Inn to friends and family.

The room was charming with a fireplace which we used to heat the room. There was also a space heater option but we liked the ambiance. We enjoyed looking at the historical prints and photos on the walls and each room was decorated for the season. The room got a 3 because the love seat was uncomfortable. Mike was informative about the area and each breakfast was well thought out, hot and cooked properly.

The Keystone Inn is a lovely b&b on the edge of town. Mike and Marj were lovely hosts. Mike always checked in at breakfast to see how everyone was doing. They allowed us to use their printer to print our ghost tour tickets. We were also allowed to borrow their audio tour cds for the battlefield auto tour. I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone interested in visiting Gettysburg.

Tastefully decorated old house with clean and comfortable rooms. Easy access all day to small amenities such as coffee/tea, snacks, movies, and books. Several communal rooms available to read, have a cup of tea and relax. Even though it was fully booked, didn't see any other visitors all day. Old fashioned swing and wicker furniture on porch are a nice touch. Also had table out back for outside dining. Breakfast was very well done. Attentive and polite owners pay attention to small detail. This was my second stay, would definitely stay again.

This was my first time staying in a Bed n Breakfast and in Gettysburg. The house was quite charming, clean and decorate in Victorian period. There were just too many stuff bears all over, this could be toned down a bit. The rooms were nice a little bit small, the furniture in the room we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, service was excellent. Downtown was about 5 blocks away and was an easy walk. I would stay here again.

My husband and I had a great stay at Keystone Inn. The Inn was beautiful and in a great location, the room clean, bed comfortable, breakfast and service fantastic. We took advantage of the "stay 3 nights and get the forth night free" special. This translated into 4 nights and basically 3 days. If you are a nature lover or you enjoy history, you will have plenty to occupy you in Gettysburg. If you are overwhelmed by the battlefields, there are also the options of a tax free outlet mall, multiple antique shops and wineries near by. And, of course, short day trips to Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, etc. We highly recommend a stay at Keystone and to the Gettysburg area.

We planned three days at The Gettysburg Battlefield. We have never stayed at a B&B but have always wanted to. Keystone Inn has set the mark for excellence. Friendly couple, great breakfast with freshly made snacks in the afternoon. The place was clean and well decorated. The large room and private bath made everything pleasant. We would sit on the front porch in the evening and read or talk and watch the evening approach darkness. It was very nice.

Keystone Inn is an excellent b & B. The location is only a few blocks from the Circle in Gburg. You feel you have stepped back in time when you arrive at this beautiful Victorian home.but with all the modern conveniences. Marj and Mike are very good hosts. The rooms are delightful and even when full the house is very quiet. On arrival Mike explained everything and pointed out a very well researched file of points of interest in the area. Breakfast each morning was varied and always freshly cooked. Mike would join us in the breakfast room each day just to check if everything was okay which of course it was. I have no hesitation in recommending this B & B to anyone who visits Gettysburg

We spent two nights in the General Greene suite which was perfect for us as we had our teenage grandson with us and he had his own room off the main bedroom, complete with his own TV and fridge. The B&B is nicely appointed and very comfortably and the hosts were charming, friendly, and informative. They also loaned us a CD so we could tour the battlefield on our own and learn more about Gettysburg even though we had also hired a private guide who was excellent. Being able to retrace the route the guide took us on gave us even more in depth knowledge of the events that had taken place there. The inn is about five blocks from the main square in town, so was pleasantly quiet but still convenient. Breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. We highly recommend.

2 night stay for wife and I, and teen son was great in Gen. Greene room. Close to town but quiet. Owners very helpful on local activities/attractions. Small X-mas shop on site was a bonus.

We recently stayed the weekend in a belated celebration of our 15th wedding anniversary at the Keystone Inn and we cannot express enough how pleased we were with our suite, the wonderful breakfasts, and the hospitality of Mike and Marj! We highly recommend their B & B for your next stay in Gettysburg, PA!

When planning my trip to Gettysburg, I decided I wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast rather than a big hotel. After browsing through the visitor's guide, I decided to make my reservations at Keystone Inn. I couldn't have asked for better hosts than Mike and Marj. They make you feel so welcome like you're part of the family. Their breakfast is definitely "hearty" and something completely different day. I like their location as they are in a quieter part of town but within walking distance. I enjoyed meeting other guests at breakfast and getting their take on what sights to see. You won't regret making this your vacation stop.

My husband and I stayed at the Keystone Inn for a weekend getaway. What a treat! Mike and Marj were so wonderful! The rooms was beautiful, the food was delicious, and I have never felt softer bath towels in my life!

Not easy to capture the peace and warmth that were inherent in our recent stay at Keystone Inn. Our room was impeccably appointed - such cushy robes! I was at first nervous about the shared bath on our floor but it was not a problem at all. Although the inn was fairly well-booked during our stay, we only saw other travelers at breakfast. Coming in after a "night on the town" it was a lovely surprise to find a plate of freshly baked brownies awaiting us. The inn is very clean but has lots of character - Boyd's bears abound :) We would stay there again.
Thank you for the kind review! I did want to note that the bath was not shared as all of our rooms have a private bath. Thanks again for choosing to stay at the Keystone Inn!

This is the perfect place for anyone who seeks a cozy getaway and great service. In house massages are available too. Also, the town is only minutes away for wine lovers, foodies, antiques, and battle fields! We will back.

We had not stayed in Gettysburg before and looked around at a few different places. We have food allergies and needed a place that could accomodate small amounts of cooking in the room. The supplied microwave and refrigerator were excellent. The entire house has a great feel and the room was beautiful. The bed was also really comfortable. The B&B is also within walking distance of downtown Gettysburg so it's conveniently located. We will definitely return.

My fiance and I stayed here over Valentines weekend. It was our first trip to Gettysburg, and our first time staying at a B&B. I would recommend this place to anybody, the Inn was very clean and well appointed, and the staff was excellent. We will make it a point to come back and stay at this Inn.

My husband & I spent a weekend at the Keystone in December & we had a fabulous time! Everything was so clean & very tastefully decorated. Mark & Mike were so nice & very helpful, offering us the use of their self guided tour of the battlefield & helping us locate different places of interest. The food was great! We can't wait for spring so we can spend our 36th anniversary back at the Keystone Inn.

My fiance and I stayed at the Keystone Inn on New Year's Eve 2013. Our stay was fantastic. We booked the Michael Bowers Room, which has a convenient back entrance so you don't wake anyone else in the house after midnight. Mike and Marj are wonderful. Mike greeted us upon checkin and showed us around and to our room. Both Mike and Marj sat down with us at breakfast and we chatted. Breakfast was fantastic!! The location is also great. Easy 10 minute walk to the square where the Pub is, and fireworks on New Years. Everything was fantastic and we will be back!!

The Keystone Inn is a great old house in Gettysburg. (and no, it is not haunted) The owners are a terrific couple who made our stay very comfortable and fun. It snowed the day we were there so we were able to just relax and ended up chatting with Mike and Marj for several hours after breakfast. We would definitely go back again and will recommend them to others.

Our family of three recently stayed at the Keystone Inn while visiting Gettysburg. We stayed in the General Greene Suite and it was the perfect space for three adults. Breakfast was always spectacular and our son especially enjoyed returning in the afternoon to a freshly baked delightful snack and coffee each day. We highly recommend the Keystone.
5 on December 05, 2013
Room was large & comfortable, as was the bed. When I mentioned my gluten problem, they made me delicious rice flour waffles for breakfast. Upon arriving home, I noticed that I had left behind a pair of shoes. After calling the B&B, they mailed them to me. I enjoyed myself thoroughly!

We enjoyed our first visit to the Keystone Inn. We visit Gettysburg often and are very happy to find another option for a place to stay. The inn was clean and the food very good. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable.
5 on November 20, 2013
We stayed here for an anniversary weekend away. The house is beautiful, clean, private and quiet. Its location was within walking distance from the historic downtown where there are many restaurants and little shops. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to choose the time you would like to have breakfast. This is great for those who like to sleep in or are early birds. Mike and Marj Day were very friendly and helpful in making our experience the best it could be. I also highly recommend getting a private message in your room for a relaxing experience!
5 on November 10, 2013
Thanks to Mike our visit was a success, even though the parks were closed during government shutdown. We found back roads and access, although limited, to the park.

We had a great time staying with the folks at Keystone Inn in Gettysburg. The room was large, we appreciated that it had a TV, (although the TV was very small), and it was very clean. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed meeting them. The inn is close to town but not right in the middle of down town, which we liked. It was a beautiful 100 year old house and so pretty. About the only thing I would have liked is a little more food for breakfast. Otherwise, it was great!
5 on November 07, 2013
From the start, we were made to feel like honored guests, yet family. The owner walked with us to our car, and he carried in our luggage. We've never had that service. We were introduced to the parts of the house that we could use, and I enjoyed the dining area with a fire in the fireplace. Brownies and hot drinks were available all the time. Chocolate candy was available in the porch room. Breakfast was cooked per our order. Not only were the trees in full, vibrant color November 3 when we stayed at the Keystone Inn, but the house was decorated in an autumn theme full of hues of yellows, reds, and oranges - even two trees were decorated. If they do all this for the autumn, I can only imagine what the holiday season looks like! Our bed was so comfortable, and the over sized shower had seats. I have never seen a cleaner house. We enjoyed the two recliners in this room - the Reaser room. This was a place to go for luxury at a fair price. The owner sat with us at breakfast, and we felt like we were leaving family when we left. I am already planning our next visit there.
4.4 on November 06, 2013
The Keystone Inn was our first experience staying at a B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The owners were very accommodating and provided excellent service! The breakfast was yummy- first morning we had homemade french toast, bacon, fruit and one of the best homemade muffins I've ever had! Our next morning we had a breakfast casserole with eggs, potatoes and ham served again with fruit and a homemade pastry! There was coffee, tea or apple cider available in the dining room areas.Marj made a cookie bar in the afternoon on Saturday so when we came back from our Gettysburg bus tour- which we would highly recommend, we had some of this scrumptious treat! The owners have gone to alot of trouble to make their home feel like you are walking into a friend's home! Everything from the landscaping around the Inn to walking in the front door, you feel comfortable! The parlor has that comfortable setting where we sat one afternoon after our tour and had a couple glasses of wine (another nice touch we found a corkscrew and some wine glasses in the dining room to use) while we talked about the tour we took! There is a cute little gift shop off the dining room that has seasonal items for sale along with Boyds bears! The rooms were very nicely decorated- we stayed in the General Reynolds room. The only complaint we had was the bed in that room was too soft for my husband; however I should have requested a room with a firm mattress! We enjoyed talking with people from all around the U.S. That was probably my favorite part of our visit in this Inn! Just sitting around after breakfast chatting with other people staying here and listening to their stories along with the history of this Inn which was 100 years old! They sure did a great job in restoring it and the upkeep, it's obvious Mike and Marj work hard at it and enjoy their jobs! We would definitely visit again!

We took my mother-in-law and father-in-law to Gettysburg last weekend and stayed in this lovely house. Both our rooms were very attractive and comfortable, and included unexpected nice touches in each room. The entire house, our rooms, and bathrooms were absolutely spotlessly clean! Our bath featured a wonderful claw foot tub as well as separate shower. The breakfasts were delicious, plentiful, and pleasantly served to us by the owner. Each evening included delicious freshly baked treats with coffee, tea or cocoa that was always available. The owners were very knowledgeable about the battle, and lent us a CD tour book that was very helpful. The living room was large and comfortable, and had helpful information books about the area, restaurants, and even a scrapbook about the history of the house. I loved the convenient, yet quiet, location and the fact that there was ample parking on site. Every aspect of our comfort was provided for -- there was even a basket of umbrellas to borrow for the one rainy evening that we had. I highly recommend a stay at this beautiful home!

A beautiful staircase takes guests to the Lincoln Library which is filled with Gettysburg and Civil War books. Breakfasts were hearty and yummy. We plan to return and to recommend this B&B to everyone. Dennis & Joan

Very nice B&B with easy access to the battlefields and visitors' center. Owners are very knowledgable about the battle, and there is an extensive library. In spite of the park being closed by the gov't. shutdown, we toured almost the entire park on bicycles. Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance. The breakfasts were a bit above average, but the coffee was mediocre. Some street noise in the evening which improved later in the night. Having the AC on helped. In all, a nice spot to learn some American history.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay for three nights that the Keystone Inn the last week of August 2013. The room was great and had it's own bathroom. The food was terrific. And we appreciated the choice of breakfast times. The conversation with the Owners and the other Guests made it truly special. I spent an evening reading on the front porch and chatting with fellow guests on their way to dinner one night. And every morning the dining room was full of chatting about suggestions for sites to visit and personal conversations between good people.
5 on October 01, 2013
We opened the side door to the front parlor and stopped in our tracks. All the oak woodwork of this beautiful old home was intact and beautifully finished. Our hosts were wonderful and had helpful suggestions for dining and touring the Battlefield. They loaned us a guide book and CD's to facilitate our tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Both rooms had a lovely outside balconey sitting area overlooking the backyard. Breakfast was wonderful each day. This is a lovely, intimate old home and we will be staying there again next year as we plant to return to Gettysburg.

We stayed in the General Johnson room and just loved it. If you stay 3 nights, the 4th is free, a fantastic value. Mike and Marj are super pleasant hosts. I always look for a full breakfast at a B&B, and you sure get one here - delicious! I can't say enough good things about our experience. If we ever return to Gettysburg, we'll look for rooms at the Keystone Inn first!
5 on September 30, 2013
The wife and I both agree, that staying at the Keystone made Gettysburg so much more meaningful. The home is lovely, the hosts friendly and the rooms very well done. We would recommend it highly for its comforts and charm, and hope someday to return. Robert and Carol Dundas

This b&b is outstanding. The home cooked breakfasts are to die for. The host/hostess are accomodating and friendly. Definitely not a place to miss if you are going to stay in Gettysburg.

We stayed in the General Johnson room up on the third floor, probably the plainest room they had available in comparison to the others in the home and the only one without it's own bathroom. But I was not disappointed. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean and charming. They provided a private bathroom just across the hall and super soft bathrobes to enjoy. Our little room even had a mini fridge which came in handy for chilling some wine and cheese. And there is more than one room with you can just curl up with a book. The house itself is a very cozy Victorian in style and you feel very welcomed wherever you decide to sit and relax. There is a complete library in the one upstairs parlor with all sorts of books and games that pertain to the civil war and Gettysburg. Then there are these beautiful gardens and a big wrap around porch that is so inviting. My husband and I just loved this place, inside and out. I look forward to returning, hopefully trying out another one of these beautiful rooms. I would never consider staying in a hotel again after spending time in this superb bed and breakfast.

The room was very comfortable we especially liked the comfort of the bed. The room had the feel of Gettysburg with civil war personalities on the wall and a country style to the furniture. The decors throughout the house was very stylish in keeping with the 100 year age of the house. The breakfast was excellent and was very filling. There were a large variety of teas available and a homemade treat in the afternoon for tea. The proprietors also provided a great selection of movies and books to choose from.

Our children surprised us with a weekend at the Keystone Inn for our birthdays. The atmosphere was friendly and peaceful. We were relaxed and refreshed by our visit. While it was close and easily accessible to all the town of Gettysburg has to offer, the Inn itself was not overly crowded or touristy. The host and hostess were friendly and knowledgeable about the house and how to make the most of our visit to Gettysburg. The gardens and porch were both very lovely, and we can't wait to go back.

We loved the location of this inn: far enough away from the square to be quiet but close enough for a short walk. The bed was very comfortable, different sized pillows were provided, awesome jetted tub, and a variety of teas and cocoas. The breakfasts were just right, and the mid-day snacks were amazing! This place is super clean!! We loved the book and video library, and that were were allowed to borrow their auto-tour CDs and booklets. The hosts were friendly and accommodating (but not the best at answering emails). I would definitely recommend the Keystone Inn!!
4.6 on August 15, 2013
These innkeepers were lovely and very accommodating, especially with our very late (8:30pm) first night arrival. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were plentiful and hot.....just wonderful. We enjoyed our conversations with both Mike and Marj and the opportunity to purchase several items from their Bear collection was great. The only thing that was a bit troublesome was the lack of WiFi in our room. We needed to move to the library or the dining room in order to log into our e-mail. But this was a minor annoyance. After all, we were on vacation! The walk to downtown Gettysburg is a short one, easy for two out of condition 'almost retirees.' We will definitely try to stay at the Keystone Inn the next time we visit Gettysburg.

We highly recommend this B&B for your consideration if visiting Gettysburg.

The breakfasts were simple and good---highlighted by wonderful fresh fruit. They provided some great flavored cocoas for off hours and set their coffee maker for the early a.m. though not quiet early enough for a fella who wakes up way too early.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Keystone Inn with our two children ages 7 and 10. Everything about our stay was perfect! The House is beautiful, everything was clean even the beds were very comfortable. The owners, Mike and Marj are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They have managed to keep much of the original charm of the house while still installing updates and conveniences that made our stay very comfortable. Marj prepared fantastic breakfasts both of the mornings were there. The Inn is located just at the edge of town so it was a very short drive to everything we wanted to do but far enough away from the center of town to avoid the noise from an event that was going on that weekend. In short, our short stay at the Keystone Inn was the highlight of our week long family vacation and I would absolutely stay there again!

There was ample space outside to sit, relax and enjoy a conversation with other guests. The house was in a quiet location but within walking distance of a great Italian restaurant and just a few minutes from the Visitor's Center and several tour operators. We will definitely come back because we only had time to scratch the service of the history in Gettysburg.

Reynolds Room where we stayed was beyond words gorgeous, and the price? Well, that just couldn't be beat. The food was phenomenal, particularly the apple cinnamon pancakes! We've stayed at a number of B&Bs over the years, and we enthusiastically recommend this one to both veteran B&Bers and to novices. You won't be disappointed!

This is the second time staying at this B&B. The innkeepers are great and very accommodating, and the rooms are well appointed, large and comfortable. The home is a beautiful Victorian just outside of the busyness of the downtown circle, but a great location for all of the Gettysburg attractions. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, while still allowing space for off-street parking for all of the guests of the inn. Breakfasts are delicious with good home cooking. We had a great selection over the duration of our stay, with muffins, coffeecake, bacon, sausage, omelets, pancakes, and French toast, along with choice of juices and coffee. Breakfast filled us up until dinner, so if you go hungry, it's your own fault. We really enjoy staying at this B&B, and will stay here again on our next trip to Gettysburg!

We enjoyed our stay at the Keystone Inn. We were happy to have dedicated parking behind the building. The room was well equipped (DVD player, refrigerator, etc.), and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The owners lent us an audio tour of the Gettysburg battlefield, which worked great and saved us a bit of cash. The breakfast was very tasty, as were the baked goods that were available in the evening. It was nice to have such an array of beverages available, also, not to mention the DVD and book library. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Keystone Inn. We just wish we had nicer weather to enjoy the porch.

You cannot beat the location of Keystone Inn. They are located just a short walk from the center of town. Out of he hustle and bustle, but close to the heart of activity and to the battlefield. The dining area was my favorite area, with conveniences such as water and ice, delicious breakfasts, afternoon desserts, and good company from the owners. It was also nice having a mini-fridge and microwave in our room.

My husband and I decided to take an impromptu extended weekend trip to gettysburg for our anniversary, and stumbled upon this hidden gem and decided to reserve a room; and I'm so happy we did! From the moment we pulled in to the private parking lot for guests, to when we walked through the beautifully landscaped garden, to the deliciously smell of creme brûlée throughout the house, we were thrilled with our decision to stay here. Each morning we were served with a 3 course meal which consisted of a pastry, a cup of fruit, and a hearty breakfast. It left us stuffed and full until dinner! There is also either brownies or cookies left out for a snack in the afternoon, and coffee/tea/apple cider/hot chocolate available all day & night long. Hot and cold filtered water available as well. There are binders full of attractions, tours and events for the week left in the main sitting room, as well as a binder full of menus from each of the restaurants in town. In the second sitting room on the second floor, there are a ton of books, board games and movies for your use. Overall, my husband and I were very happy with our decision to stay here and will absolutely be returning in the near future

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! Mike and Marj were so personable and accommodating. They offered valuable info about local places, and just chatted about life with us at breakfast. Marj offered to make my husband a special breakfast each morning as he had just started a fairly restricted diet. He missed out on the regular menu though, as the homemade breakfast both days was wonderfully delicious, not to mention the freshly baked goodies available each afternoon. The location is not right in the heart of the "action", but it was a gorgeous weekend so we enjoyed the short walk into town. Even though this is a "newer" home (not civil war era) it had its own charm and a pictorial history of the original owners was displayed right on the walls! Our room was spacious and bright with a lovely sitting room/eating area, and a small deck space as well. All in all we have special memories of our weekend here and would definitely go back.

We have stayed 2 times at this B&B while visiting Gettysburg, PA - both times were wonderful. The location of the B&B is about 5 blocks from the busy center of town which makes this a nice quiet location for porch sitting. The rooms are very nice - comfortable with a range of sizes. The breakfast is wonderful and Marg and Mike are very friendly and welcoming - they make you feel like you are staying with friends. We enjoyed spending time in the library looking at the many books on the Civil War. The price range is reasonable and less than most of the other B&B in town. We enjoyed our stays here and plan to stay here again on our next visit to Gettysburg.

My husband and I were looking for somewhere nice to go but close to home. We went online to look for B&Bs. When we came across the Keystone Inn we knew we found our honeymoon spot! The B&B was so comfy cozy it was like being at home. The room we chose was gorgeous and well set up. We had our own bathroom which was very nice and clean. We also had our own mini fridge, high definition television and dvd player in our room. There was extra pillows and blankets in the closet ( the room had 2 nice size closets in them for our things). There were 2 nice and comfy chairs in the room great for sitting and watching television, reading or just talking to one another. The room also came with cable. We snuck a peak at the other rooms on our floor and they too were gorgeous. The Inn offered a library with many books and dvds we could read and use. It also offered a nice sitting room on the first floor. The owners made sure our stay was PERFECT. They made sure our room/bathroom was clean and that we had everything we need. The breakfast in the morning was excellent as well as the service. The owners were even helpful when it came to my husband and I visiting the historic sites of Gettysburgh. They were very very knowledgeable. My husband and I will definitely be visiting there again :)

My wife and I stay here every time we go to Gettysburg. Everything is well kept. The host are wonderful people. This past time it was our anniversary and they helped to make things perfect. They even ordered the flowers for me to surprise my wife with. I would recommend staying here. It is close enough to walk into town( just a few blocks ). But far enough to be able to relax on the expansive porch.

My two young adult daughters and I made our annual (sometimes more) pilgrimage to Gettysburg and its environs last weekend. Our stay at the Keystone Inn quite simply made our experience almost perfect (innkeepers Mike and Marj weren't able to guarantee the weather for our trip home, but that is forgiveable!) The accommodations, location, the spectacular breakfasts and Mike and Marj themselves created an experience that we cannot wait to repeat. My only regret is not having stayed at the Keystone Inn prior to this trip. Thank you so very much! Karen, Kathryn and Kelly

my husband and i booked a weekend at keystone to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. it was perfect. the room was warm and gorgeous, so inviting, the house is gorgeous, and Mike and Marj were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was outstanding, and the company and conversation (and civil war tid bits) were perfect additions! We can't wait to come back, and would absolutely recommend the Keystone in to anyone! General Early's Suite was a perfect romantic reprieve, in a lovely home! Thank you for making our special weekend, so very special!

My husband and I recently visited Gettysburg for the first time and we chose the Keystone Inn as our home base. This beautiful home is in a quiet part of town (about 5 blocks from the square) and the owners, Mike and Marj, are very personable and friendly. Mike does the cooking and joins Marj in the dining room after the last course is served to sit and chat with guests. The breakfasts are very good; if you leave the table hungry, it's your own fault! We stayed in the Michael Bowers room, which was more than big enough for the two of us. Some might consider the bathroom a little snug, but it was functional and clean. I had two issues with the room. The first was that there was a bit of a mildewy, almost septic smell when you entered the room (the bathroom is located immediately to the right). I mentioned the odor to Mike because it seemed to bother my allergies a bit (possibly because of mildew from a leak). He was very accomodating in trying to find something (room deodorizers) to help with the odor, but in the end we just dealt with it. My husband believes it was due to a cracked seal around the toilet outlet, so it sounds a like something that can be fixed fairly easily. The other issue has to do more with personal preference. The Michael Bowers room is one of two rooms on the second floor that has access to the back balcony and stairs. Being a much older home, the door had a transom window above it. Unfortunately, this window isn't covered so if you are a person who likes a really dark room for sleeping, as I am, you might be bothered by the light that comes in from this window. Overall, we had a very nice trip and would consider staying here again.

We recently had a two night stay at the Keystone Inn in Gettysburg along with two other couples. Our hosts, Mike and Marge, were very friendly and accommodating. The Inn was immaculate, cozy and beautifully decorated, due to the talents of our hostess. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the bed very comfortable. We have stayed in many B & B's over the years and rate this very high. We had an enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

We had a very enjoyable stay in Gettysburg. The room was huge and the bed was fantastic. We were in Gettysburg to visit with our daughter at the college and the Keystone inn is quite convenient (although not quite walking distance) to the college in a quiet residential neighborhood. The owners gave us a good and filling breakfast each morning and there were always tasty cookies out in the dining room and tea and coffee available. A very nice sitting area is also available for guests. A very clean, warm, and comfortable place to stay. I highly recommend it.

From the moment we stepped onto the porch of this charming inn, we felt right at home. Our room (Reynolds Room) was spacious, comfortable.and a quiet retreat after a day of sightseeing. We also liked the fact that it's located away from the noise of the main street, yet close enough to walk to town square. Our hosts, Mike and Marj served a delicious breakfast each morning and always made sure we had everything we needed. Even Ginger, their little dog provided us with a much needed pet fix.. Overall, our experience at the Keystone was great and we highly recommend it,

A quarter mile from the center of town sits The Keystone B&B. Beautiful gardens surround the wrap around porch where I enjoyed my morning cup of coffee. Among the many things I found impressive about The Keystone, one feature really stood out to me- the ambiance. Warm, and inviting and beautifully decorated the B&B has you feeling comfortable and 'at home' right away. I traveled alone and stayed 2 nights in the General Johnson room . I chose this room because it was the most cost effective room and It had a claw foot tub. They offer discounted rates for mid-week stays and single occupancy. Both of which I gladly took advantage of. Breakfast at The Keystone ( served at either 8am or 9am) is simple, fresh and delicious. One notable feature is the library. There is a massive collection of books on Gettysburg and the Civil War fit for readers of all levels. All of the historical sites of Gettysburg are within an 8 minute drive from the B&B. If you don't have set plans of what exactly you would like to see/experience in Gettysburg, the Keystone has brochures, maps and information of all the local and historical destinations in the cozy parlor, furnished year round with an impressive Christmas tree. The cleanliness throughout the house will surely impress and put your own house to shame. I would absolutely recommend The Keystone B&B to anyone considering a trip to Gettysburg, PA. If ever I go back, I will surely be staying at The Keystone ( and hopefully in the General Johnson room)!

For my first time at a B+B, I chose to stay in the Keystone Inn. My boyfriend and I stayed in The Michael Bowers Room. We arrived late but the host was awake and showed us right to the room. The room was excellent, with the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in. I wanted to take it with me. The breakfasts were amazing and always more than enough food, and we were close enough to travel into the Battlefield within about 10-15 minutes. I will always suggest the Keystone Inn for anyone travelling to the Gettysburg Area.

We have been coming to Gettysburg yearly since 1991 and have stayed at several bed and breakfasts. After our first time at the Keystone Inn we knew this would be our only choice whenever we come back. The home is wonderful and innkeepers Mike and Marj are two of the nicest people who make you feel right at home. They make you feel like family. Mike is a great cook . The breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The treats provided in the afternoon are better than I've had from any home town bakery!! Mike, we expect you to have the side room completed when we return. I need to check out Marj's Boyd's Bears collection! Nancy & Jeff Lasky

For my wife and I, this was our first experience staying at a B&B and we couldn't have been happier. The location was great. It is easy walking distance to the center of town and all the attractions, yet in a very quiet neighborhood area of Gettysburg that is removed from all the noise and business. It gave us a very quiet and relaxing stay, but allowed us to get out and walk wherever we wanted to go. Another plus to the location is they have free, off-street parking, The owners, Mike and Marj, we very friendly and helpful when answering our questions on what to do or where to go with tours, dinners, etc. They were both very welcoming and didn’t mind chatting with you at breakfast or as they saw you coming and going. We stayed in the General Ewell room and it worked great for us. The room was plenty big for the two of us and all out stuff and had a super comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was a nice size too. The only thing that was the tiniest of a negative was the shower in the bathroom was a tad on the smaller size. Not really a big deal, we were still able to take a shower and clean up, what more do you really need a shower to do? The food each morning was amazing. No continental breakfast here. These were fresh, homemade, full course breakfasts. They didn’t even mind if you wanted seconds and gladly bought you more of whatever you wanted. We also like that you could choose between an 8:00 am or 9:00 am breakfast to work around your schedule for the day or sleeping in. To top it off, there were fresh made brownies and/or cookies left out in the dining room for you to snack on, along with the coffee, tea and water that was available all day. As I said this was our first time ever going to a B&B and it exceeded our expectations. We had heard not good stories from friends and family about their B&B experiences, but this could not have been further from them. We enjoyed our weekend at the Keystone Inn and would definitely head back.

My wife and I were extremely pleased with our choice of Keystone Inn for our short four-night visit to Gettysburg. The home is very charming. We found both the interior and grounds to be very neat and clean; the owners obviously spend a lot of time and take a lot of pride in their home. The owners were marvelous hosts, making sure we had what we needed and, if requested, providing information on things to do or places for supper. Our room, the Michael Bowers room, was large and comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a little snug for two people and the shower head was mounted a little too high for my 5-3 wife to reach; but it's an older home. We enjoyed our little private patio to sit in the morning and drink our tea. The breakfasts were sumptuous and delicious, though a bit too many carbohydrates (though the owners would easily and graciously make substitutes when my wife requested). Having hot water for tea and ice for our drink bottles all day long was welcome. And the owners loaned us a copy of the CD audio tour and guidebook for the Gettysburg battlefield which saved us from having to buy one. If/when we return to the area we will definitely stay at Keystone Inn again!!! Herb West

My wife and I wanted to visit the military park for the first time and I went online to review possible rooming options. There were the usual motel chains and I started looking at the B&B options. Ran across the Keystone Inn website. Reviews were excellent, location within easy walking distance to downtown, close to military park, and the rooms looked very inviting. We took a chance. Made reservations for three nights and with a special, fourth night was free. Our experience was wonderful. Mike and Marj were excellent hosts, made us feel like family. We looked forward to Mike's breakfasts. Enjoyed the conversations with the other visitors during breakfast. Stayed in the Ewell room. I have stayed at a lot of nice hotels and rooms, but none had the personal charm and character as the Ewell and each room seemed to have there own unique flavor. The Inn was very quiet, not like the noise you hear all night long at a hotel. On the second day of the visit we "discovered" a little used entry into the park only a few blocks from the Inn (East Confederate Avenue). Avoided the traffic of having to go through downtown Gettysburg. If you are planning a visit to Gettysburg, I would highly recommend the Keystone Inn. One note, there is construction of a new bridge on Hanover Road (Route 116) between the Inn and Route 15 and there is a detour. Does not impede getting into to town or park directly from the Inn, just if you are trying to reach the Inn directly from route 15 so you will need to look for an alternative route.

It was wonderful. Marj & Mike was wonderful they helped us with anything we needed. Mike did the cooking which the foood was outstanding along with the snacks. We were so happy with everything. Except one con was the General Green Room we stayed in was 3 flights up but well worth it. The bed was so comfortable we had our 15 year old daughter with us she had her own room. We had everything we needed & the towels were so soft. And met some folks that only lived 1 1/2 from us. Beautiful inside & so clean. We loved it & if you go there is a woman that comes in to do massages on Sunday. Well worth it she was excellent.

This delightful B&B is within walking distance of the historic downtown area of Gettysburg, yet in a quiet residential neighborhood. The hosts are extremely thoughtful, welcoming, and provided us with an excellent stay. We stayed in a first floor bedroom right off the parlor, and were a little concerned that it might be noisy as the inn was full. However, our room was extremely quiet, comfortable, and I would definitely recommend it. The large wrap-around front porch was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of touring battleground history. We borrowed an auto tour CD from our hosts, which was extremely helpful and very, very good. Finally, breakfast was wonderful - french toast on day 1 and pancakes on day 2. Both morning breakfasts included fruit, juice, endless coffee, bacon, and coffeecake. Met some wonderful people as well. This is a wonderful place and we plan to return.

It's clear Mike and Marj want guests to feel like they're walking into their own homes upon arrival. There is lovely classical music playing, clear instructions in case they're otherwise occupied, and quick and easy check-in process. In each room were several resources to area attractions, including pamphlets, a binder filled with information, and even take-out menus. I feel like we were spoiled because I felt that our room, the Reaser room, was the best in the house. Of course I'm biased--the other rooms are, to be sure, lovely--but this one was so cozy, comfortable, and homey--very spacious, picture windows, and sizeable bathroom. Given the choice one evening, instead of going out, we opted to picnic on the porch. (Don't miss a twilight chat in the rocking chairs!) Every detail, from mini fridges to the movie "Gettysburg" on DVD in each room, has been thought of. They were happy to leave us to our own devices, which made for a relaxing, romantic, and most importantly, fun, weekend getaway.

My husband and I just returned from a 4 day vacation to Gettysburg and stayed at the Keystone Inn. We were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in. A beautiful Victorian home that was so warm and charming and extremely clean. I am a clean nut and it far and above passed my standards. A great attention to detail in the decorating. We stayed in the General Greene room and it was beautiful and extremely comfortable with all the amenities you could think of. Two recliners that we used every night after a long day touring the battlefield. Mike and Marj are so very hospitable and make you feel right at home. The breakfasts are fabulous made by Mike and served by lovely Marj. Food was made from scratch and perfection. They were both so very friendly and helpful. The dining room had a coffee tea area where you could visit any time of day or night. There was always something sweet made and left for the guests each day. The Inn was just the right distance from the hustle and bustle of the busy Gettysburg town center and a short distance from the battlefield drive. The Inn is located with a view of Culp's Hill battlefield. This was by far one of the best short vacations we have been on and this lovely Inn and its caring Innkeepers made it all the more special to us. Don't hesitate book your room and have a restful time.

My two sisters and I get away annually. We look for a relaxing, comfortable environment. We certainly found just that at the Keystone Inn. It was a most pleasant stay in the meticulously clean home of Mike and Marj Day. The decorations added to the charm of the bed and breakfast. Speaking of breakfast . . . Mike prepared a delicious, healthy, attractively presented meal, and Marj cordially served it to us. It was fun chatting with both of them as they shared their experiences as proprietors. We discussed the probability of returning to the Keystone Inn with our families!

We stayed 2 nights during the winter special and it was very nice. The price is reasonable and the breakfast was very good. A very nice inn and so close to many attractions.

This is definitely the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The house is gorgeous and spaceous. The room we stayed in was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable and we slept good. The location in a very quiet part of town just east of downtown Gettysburg. Mike and Marj are friendly knowledgeable hosts who are familiar with the area and the history. The meals both mornings were great. Mike helped carry our bags to our room, which I did not anticipate. I would also like to point out that Mike and Marj are so "down to Earth" and easy to talk to. It was like sitting around and talking with old friends. It's too bad we could not stay the third night because it was free. We highly recommend the Keystone Inn to anyone.

My fiancee and I stayed 3 nights at the Keystone Inn January 2-5 2012. as my Christmas Present to her. I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and was really taking a risk at trying something new. We booked General Early's Suite. You can often look at pictures online and not get a good idea of what you'll really be getting. The pictures in my opinion don't do the place justice. It is nice warm and cozy, even in the middle of winter. Mike and Marj are wonderful people. They are very social and will be as helpful as needed. Since the purpose of our visit was rest and relaxation, we didn't need much from them other than seclusion which they provided. They will provide you with as little or as much as needed. In the rooms they've thought of everything, coffee and cups ready to go. Mike makes brownies or cupcakes for you to pick up on your way in and out of the place. The whirlpool tub was quite nice, and the library has an excellent selection of books and movies. In the off season this place is an excellent value, for a few dollars more than a budget hotel you can stay 3 nights, get a hot breakfast every morning, and have a whole suite, not just a room. Meals were good, although there is no choice of breakfast, its whatever Mike decides to make. Everything made for breakfast here is very very good, but if you're someone that demands choice you won't get it here unless you have dietary restrictions, which will most certainly be accommodated. If its not too busy Mike and Marj will talk to you over breakfast, which was nice; As I've said they're wonderful social people and Mike is a quasi expert on the Battle of Gettysburg. It is close to the shopping district and main roads. Whether you come here during the off season as we did, or during the tourist season I can't imagine anyone would be very disappointed by staying here. You really can't go wrong.

The Keystone Inn is magnificent! Everything about it was absolutely perfect. Excellence in every category. Marvelous turn-of-the-century design with all the modern necessities. The amount of oak trim and accents in the interior rooms is a work of art you won't see on an everyday basis. The owners are very friendly and completely accomodating to every need. Breakfast is "first class" and provided in a cozy comfortable dining room. Refereshments are available all day long, especially in the evenings when you can relax and read in a cozy "sitting room" or secluded "library" with a warm brew of your favorite teas, etc. What a treat after a day shopping and sight seeing the town of Gettsyburg. Private parking away from local traffic and walking distance to the town "square". Rates are very reasonable, offering attractive discounts as applies, and better than any other B&B in the area. Can't wait to return for another visit. What a way to bring in the new year!!!

Keystone Inn was convienently located, in a quiet area of Gettysburg, close to the town center. The innkeepers were well informed of the area, very gracious hosts, and a pleasure to talk to. They were non-intrusive but always there if needed. The large room was comfortable and well appointed. The only drawback was the size of the TV, it was small for the viewing distance.
5 on November 29, 2011
Three months before arriving at the Keystone Inn, I booked their last room (huge Civil War Event that my husband and I are part of). The MOST reasonable rate threw me off, and I figured that the Inn would not be the level I am used to. WHAT A SURPRISE! The other guests, the food, and the PERFECT proximity to town (well within walking distance but quiet) made our stay absolutely perfect. Also, we were so happy to be delivered into such capable hands. Have not experienced the amount of returning guests, who we will meet up with next year! Not stuffy, but suitable for us, I can HIGHLY recommend the Keystone Inn.

My wife and I stayed for a college alumni event and to celebrate our anniversary. We were lucky to get their last room for the weekend and for only one night. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was super! Crumb cake followed by thick sliced home-made french toast. Yummy! The house is lovely. Plenty of parking out back. It was a bit farther from the circle in town then I anticipated but it was really no trouble. Over all it was a great experience and we would certainly stay again.

Yummy breakfasts and afternoon goodies. Close to dining and museums. Very, very clean and decorated to match the Fall season. The only downfall was not being informed that some restaurants do not serve wine and you must BYOB.

Mike and Marj were extremely welcoming and the house itself was gorgeous. Our room was much more spacious than I anticipated for the price (and the bed extremely comfortable!). Located far enough from the main part of town that it was always quiet and quaint, but close enough to walk to almost anywhere in town! Loved it :)

4.4 on October 11, 2011
We can highly recommend this B & B. Everything except the breakfast ~ was great. The food was tasty if a bit skimpy. However, whatever was lacking in food was surely made up for in the super rooms, comfort, coziness & cleanliness of the home.

I stayed at the Keystone Inn with my husband in June of 2009, and we were very happy with our visit. I should start off by saying that Mike, the innkeepeer, looked thrilled to find us at the front door at 10:00 pm. He took his time showing us around the inn and to our room, regardless of how late it was. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean, as was the rest of the house. There were little treats like brownies or cookies waiting for us at the end of each day, and plenty of refreshments as well. The breakfasts each morning were delicious, though a little too sweet for my taste. I think Mike went a little crazy with the powdered sugar on the french toast, but the fruit accompanying each dish was refreshing and complimentary. Although I loved the fact that the inn was away from town in a quiet neighborhood, it was not withing walking distance to town. It's walkable yes, but it's definitely not a short stroll, and I wouldn't recomend it, especially at night. Mike and Marj were full of useful information, since we have never been to Gettysburg before, and gave us great tips on where to go and what to do. They recommended that we dine at the Dobbin House, and wow, we were beyond pleased!! That restaurant was amazing! The only tip I have for future visitors is this - if you decide to borrow Mike's and Marj's CD's for the audio tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield, make sure they BOTH work before you leave the inn... We were halfway through the tour when we realized that the 2nd CD didn't work, and since we were leaving the next day, we didn't have time to go back, and had to finish the tour without our "guide". Overall, the inn was gorgeous, the innkeepers were extremely hospitable, and if I return to Gettysburg, I would definitely stay at the Keystone Inn again.

We arrived later than we had planned but were met by the parents of the Keystone Inn's owners and made to feel very welcome. Our room was lovely and very cozy, but not confining, just what a long, tiring day required. Breakfast the next morning was tasty and accommodated our vegetarian diet. The weekend weather was not as accommodating. We had homemade treats each evening (cookies or brownies) and means for making hot tea, awaiting us when we returned from a late dinner. This was a nice treat before turning in for a good nights rest. Our room was on the front of the inn and the Friday night traffic was heavier than I expected but not unbearable. Saturday and Sunday nights were very quiet, in fact, the inn was so quiet that we thought we were the only guests. For an older house, it was very well sound-proofed. The grounds are well maintained and pleasant for relaxing with a book or just for peaceful reflection of the day. We are seasoned travelers and certainly would stay here at any opportunity when we are in the area. Thank you to our host, Mike and hostess, Marj for a lovely stay.

Planning to return for another stay next year.

I would highly recommend the Keystone Inn. Our room and bath were cleaner than clean. The attention to detail throughout the house was exceptional. We would definitely return if we ever get back to Gettysburg.

We've stayed at B&Bs before, and this one is the most pleasant one so far. The hosts are very generous with their house and provide a lot of amenities along with the rooms. Breakfast was always very good, and the house includes a library with books on Gettysburg and the Civil War. Mike is very knowledgeable as well, and comes out for a chat after cooking a pretty amazing breakfast. A very good value, and a very comfortable stay.

Mike & Marj make you feel like you're visiting family. Homemade breakfasts were great. Little things like cookies or cakes in the dining room for afternoon or evening snacks added a special touch. Hot drinks were always available. Keystone Inn is located away from the busy tourist part of town but still within a short walk to the town square. Really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Our room and the dining area were immaculate and the service was extremely friendly without being cloying. Breakfasts were well prepared but tended to be on the sweet side. Guests could chose an 8 or 9 am seating. Brownies or cookies were provided every night. Literature on the Gettysburg area, the battle and the Civil War in general, as well as other reading materials was abundant. The inn is within an easy walk of the town square and multiple excellent restaurants. We highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

I stayed at this BNB recently, and I found it to be very lovely. The distance between the BNB and the historical district was within walking distance but we did take our car. The inn was absolutely clean and well taken care of. The housekeeping was also great. Although there are some negatives that I didnt like: Because of our late arrival, we were not greeted or shown around, even on our second day there. There weren't any selection of breakfast, or any notification of what would be served. The breakfast was good, and satisfying but nothing I would rave about. The innkeepers werent so friendly, a bit odd but that didn't bother me. Also, we didn't receive a paid bill and I didn't even realize this till I got home. Overall, the price, the service, and the cleanliness is what I was happy about.

My family's stay was very nice and we were happy with the room. My only request would be to include what floor the room was on before booking it, because both my mother and I have had knee surgery and all those steps about did us in. Beautiful home, wonderful food (sweets are available during the day as you go in and out and breatfast is delicious and filling without leaving you feel "heavy" all day, just enough to fuel your walk around!). I chose this place because of the library, even though I did not have much time to sit and read, but I spent about 1 hour in there. The room was a great size, the bathroom was much larger than any hotel, and the bed was extremely comfy. TV, DVD player, and mini fridge were in the room. The fridge came in handy to cool our waters overnight so they were cold for the morning. Mike and Marj were wonderful hosts, they come and chat at breakfast, offer help if you need anything in the area, and are very welcoming. If you're doing the Gettysburg battlefield, they have the audio tours you can borrow for free if you choose the auto tour, which saves about $20 at the visitors center. Great stay, if I go back I will look into this place again.

My wife and I stayed in the General Reynolds' room on our anniversary trip to Gettysburg. (July 2011) As you drive through the town of Gettysburg you pass through some pretty dumpy areas. As we passed by some of the other (more expensive) B&B's I had researched, I was growing apprehensive about the condition of the lodging in Gettysburg. But then we pulled up to the Keystone Inn, and I breathed a sigh of relief! Even before entering the house, I could tell by the professional landscaping and well-kept exterior, that the hosts are committed to providing an enjoyable experience for their guests. The Inn is situated on a large yard, and the traffic did not keep us awake, even during "bike week." My wife commented that the towels were the softest she had ever used, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was enjoyable, and with 4 separate tables you don't have to interact with the others unless you want to. Mike recommended an excellent restaraunt for our anniversary dinner, and he is very knowledgeable about the history of the park, as well as the tourist attractions. I would stay at the Keystone again if the opportunity arose.

This was our first visit to a Bed and Breakfast and it was a wonderful experience. The Day's were extremely friendly and made us feel at home without making us feel awkward staying in someone's home. It is only a few blocks from the main square and was a beautiful walk. Our room was beautiful and the towels in the bathroom were the softest towels we have ever felt. We also enjoyed the library that was filled with local history and the folder in our room highlighting local attractions. A GREAT place to stay!

Keystone B&B is beautiful! This was our first stay at a B&B and we were more than happy with our stay. We were greeted by Mike and given a tour of the house. We stayed in General Early's Suite. It is on the second floor and shares a balcony with another room, but there are two seperate seating areas. We were able to use the fire escape (as long as it was dry) so it was like having a private entrance, which was nice when returning late at night. The jacuzzi tub was very nice and the towels were very soft and fluffy. The house and suite is stocked with treats and drinks. The porch and yard have plenty of seating and are well lit. There is plenty of off street parking. The Innkeepers are very nice. They are there if you need them, but they don't invade your privacy. Keep doing what your doing, Mike and Marj! We love your house! Marj, I love your tree...so pretty.

This was my first trip to Gettysburg altho my husband had visited the battleground before. Mike & Marj provided us with an audio tour CD so we were able to drive to various important sites and listen to explanations of their significance along the way. We stayed in the Reaser Room and were most comfortable. There was a spacious closet, lovely dresser & lots of shelf space in the bathroom. The bed was every bit as comfortable as our bed at home. My husband enjoyed reading in the recliners in the room. There's a great library stocked with countless books about the Civil War as well as DVDs which guests can take to their room. Altho the house was filled with other guests, the room was very quiet. Mike & Marj put out baked treats and provide coffee and tea at the end of the day...a nice touch. I also liked that they offer two "seatings" for breakfast to accommodate people's preferences & schedules.

My girlfriend and I wanted to visit Gettysburg and get an experience that a generic Holiday Inn simply couldn't offer. We decided on the Keystone Inn because of it's location (in town, but away from the noise) and character. We were not disappointed with our decision (understatement). We couldn't have been happier with the service and accommodations. The staff is helpful and genuinely concerned with your well-being while a guest. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a B&B in Gettysburg, and I'll certainly be back.

My husband and I spent two nights in Gettysburg, on our way back to Ohio from Philadelphia. I knew nothing about the B&Bs in the area, so I chose the Keystone based on recommendations online. We were not disappointed. The biggest surprise was the comfort of our king size bed. Though the temps reached 98 degrees, our room stayed cool and comfortable. (If you don't like the sound of a window air-conditioner, it may be a bit loud for you, but not unusual.) The breakfasts were very good and if needed, afternoon snacks available. Marj and Mike were the perfect hosts. They answered any questions we had about the area and made suggestions for places to eat. They offered a room, designated as the library, full of information about Gettysburg. We borrowed the audio tour for our car and traveled the entire battlefield, at our own pace, with narration. No need to buy one, since they had them available. If we ever return, I have no doubt I would stay there again.

We were so pleased with our stay at the Keystone. It is a clean, well kept B&B. It is beautifully decorated, yet homey and welcoming. Our hosts could not have been more helpful with information about the area. The breakfast's were amazing! All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who asked and would return ourselves if ever in the area again. We have truly enjoyed therm all, but our stay at the Keystone Inn (for the first time) was truly a pleasnt suprise. The home is well maintained, the owners warm and friendly, and the hospitality was wonderful. I thought staying at a home along Hanover Street might be somewhat noisy due to traffic, but the room (which faced the front) was spacious and extremely quiet. We would highly recommend the Keystone Inn and we already have made reservations for a return stay in May.

We enjoyed our stay so much in the fall that we could not wait for our return visit. The perfect home away from home. Great for our weekend get-aways. Beautiful home. Wonderful hospitality. Delicious breakfast. Looking forward to our next visit.

The Inn, immaculate from top to bottom; the room, cozy and warm; the Innkeepers, friendly, helpful and available with a ring of the bell. We will be future visitors again.

Innkeepers are extremely friendly yet not overbearing. House is very nice - extremely well maintained and clean-clean-clean. Room was comfortable. Bathroom small but functional. Breakfast was good - simple and well done. Overall value was very good as rates were below many others. Convenient location.

Lovely old house, beautifully maintained. Owners, Mike and Marge, are friendly, helpful, and engaging. The Inn is convenient to everything in Gettysburg and not far from Ski Liberty if you want to ski/snowboard. If you are looking for good Thai food, the Thai Classic IV is within walking distance.

Room was very nicely furnished, personnel extremely friendly and helpful and food was on time, well prepared and tasty. All the guests present exhibited satisfaction with the accommodations. The place was excellently decorated. The Keystone Inn is a great place to stay and we look forward to the chance to visit again in the future.

Location in Gettysburg was very good. Home was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Mike and Marj were very nice and helpful (Mike suggested a great place for our dinner). Will stay again if in the area.

We just enjoyed the cozy atmosphere at the Keystone Inn. This is our second year staying at this location and I would not stay anywhere else. I just loved the fall decorations and the lovely tree in the living room. The fore place burning as we enjoyed our breakfast was so great. The afternoon cookies baking and tasting (by my husband) was a treat after a cold afternoon in the park.

The Keystone Inn is in a very convenient position from which to investigate the Gettysburg battlefield and the innkeeper is clearly an expert on the subject. We cannot fault our reception, or our room or any other aspect of our stay. But,as the review shows, we found it a bit ordinary.

The Keystone Inn was the perfect complement to our visit to Gettysberg. The room was very comfortable; the breakfast was delicious, ample and satisfting; and the Innkeepers were most hospitable. This was one of the very few B&Bs we found with accomodations for two single adults traveling together.

My husband and I had a very relaxing and pleasant stay at your in. It was beautifully decorated and we would love to come back again and try another one of your beautiful rooms. Over all it was a very warm and hospitable and the owners were very pleasant.

This was our first stay in a b&b, and it was a great choice! Great rooms, great people, great service and food! We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the Keystone to anyone.

This is an absolutely charming and gracious Inn reflecting the owners, Mike and Marj Day, personalities. Our room was spacious and spotless. and the bed was the best we have ever slept in away from home; breakfast was excellent, always served with a smile making a great start to the day; the evening snacks were yummy and a totally delicious surprise. No detail was left unturned for our 5 day stay at Keystone Inn. Mike & Marj Day treated us like family, welcoming us with warmth which continued throughout our stay. We will most definitely stay again when in the area and recommend this Inn as one of Gettysburg's "hidden jewels". Tim & Sherry

We just returned from a 2 night weekend stay at the Keystone Inn. It was fabulous! Mike & Marj are terrific hosts. They give you a thorough tour of the inn, supply great food, and have a great knowledge of the area. The home itself is just beautiful. The hardwood floors and woodwork are amazing. We have never stayed in such a spotless environment. It is obvious they love the inn and put a lot of TLC into it. We really enjoyed our stay in General Early's suite. We are planning to return in the fall.

We have stayed at the Keystone Inn on 2 separate occassions and both times were superb. Mike and Marj make you feel like a part of their family. Delicious home-cooked breakfasts, the charm of an old house, the decor, there's nothing we can say about this inn that is not appealing. We will definately stay here for all of our visits to Gettysburg in the future.

The room was exceptionally clean! The Innkeeper was very helpful with information about Gettysburg. He also was understanding about a problem I had with my Mastercard, and accepted my check (Bank of America had cancelled my card when I asked them how to replace my ATM card, which I had lost!).

I've been to Gettysburg a dozen times and I always stay here, which speaks volumes about the Keystone Inn. Mike and Marj Day offer great warmth, charm, and hospitality, and have made the inn a very special place. The Days are kind, congenial, and helpful. They both know a great deal about the local area, its attractions, and eateries and their recommendations have always been helpful. Breakfasts at the inn are always tasty and more than enough to eat. I've also found the guests staying here to be quite nice. The location of the inn is most accomodating. It's conveniently located close to the historic district (only a couple blocks away) yet far enough from traffic to provide an atmosphere of serenity. For Civil War buffs there are some nice views of the battlefield from the rooms on the back side of the inn. Mike has an appreciable knowledge of the battle and can help answer any questions you might have. The rooms are lovely and charming. They are tastefully decorated, each with their own unique character, and kept spotlessly clean. Beds are very comfortable and, together with the inn's quiet location, provide a great night's sleep. I will continue staying here for many years to come.

We had a lovely stay and found our innkeepers, Mike and Marg more than accommodating. Mike is very knowledgeable about the area and historic detail. They were more than willing to help with luggage and other items to be carried up the stairs. Very accommodating about the food needs that my husband had. But I would if you have bad knees like me, be sure you request a room on the 2nd floor. All the rooms are beautifully furnished and have more than enough room. Some are ensuite and some not--so be sure you check carefully. I just loved this place and would readily go back and refer friends to go there. Thanks again, Mike and Marg

This was our first experience staying at a B&B, and if all B&B's are like this it will not be our last. The place was absolutely spotless and very comfortable. We stayed in the Johnson room which had the bath across the hall which was not an issue with us at all, robes were provided in the room for your use. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very quiet no noise, the location in town was great and the neighbourhood was very quiet. The breakfast were very tastey and just the right amount. Michael and Marjorie were very nice and easy to talk to and offered excellent advise on places to see and eat. I would highly recommend this B&B as an excellent place to stay in Gettysburg.

What a great place to stay! The house is beautiful and very warm and inviting. Our suite was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and we loved the jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was delicious. Mike and Marj have thought of everything to make a guest feel at home. We'd love to return in the warm weather to take advantage of the beautiful porch!

My husband and I stayed Oct. 14-16. Although the weather wasn't at all nice (rain all 3 days we were there) the Inn Keepers were outstanding in there hospitality. From the moment we opened the door the scent of cinnamon & apple was in the air. The parlor has a beautifully decorated Season Tree for Autum. The room we stayed in was the General Green and it was lovely. Thanks to Mike for letting us use the autotour to the Battlefield, it was the only way to go that day. We had a lovely stay and I will recomend it to our friends and family. The breakfast were all great, Thanks again . Jack and Donna

This was our very first B&B stay, and I was glad I chose the Keystone Inn. We had a rough flight, it was delayed because of bad weather flying into Washington, called Mike and said we would be late getting to Gettysburg and he said no problem. Mike was waiting for us with a smile. Made us feel good, helped us with our luggage, and showed us around. Mike gave us suggestions where to get a bite to eat because it was pretty late, but we were pretty hungry from the 3 hr delay. Our room was great, very clean, comfortable, next best thing to home (Marj, how do you get those towels so soft and they smell so good). Breakfast was filling and good all 3 mornings, good coffee and tea, liked the night snacks, cookies one night, brownies the next. We had a great time. Enjoyed talking to the other guests. Loved Marj's Boyds Bears, and the Keystone Inn is decorated beautifully. The Inn is a couple of blocks from the square, but it was so peaceful and you didn't have to worry about traffic and town noise etc. Slept like a rock. We were so busy seeing everything because it was our first trip to Gettysburg and we only had a couple of days, I am looking forward to revisiting and being able to relax a little more at the Keystone Inn. Loved the wrap porch, it was beautiful. Mike and Marj & family keep up the good work, I know it must be alot of work, but you are doing a great job. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you for sharing your home and making us feel so welcome. We will recommend your place to anyone we know visiting Gettysburg. Take care, and best of luck. We were impressed with the lovely decoration of this B&B. You could almost think Thomas Kinkade books a room in this B&B when he needs new inspiration for his paintings. The Days did everything to make us feel welcome. The CD-guided battlefield tour was a very nice touch and a great way to fill the day.

Went for a weekend getaway with my fiance to celebrate Valentine's day. We had a great weekend and our stay at the B&B was excellent. Mike and Marj were great hostesses and provided us with everything we needed. Helped us find the prefect place to eat dinner, provided us with wine glasses and a bottle opener, made an outstanding breakfast both mornings, and gave us an endless list of things to do and places to see in Gettysburg. The B&B is in a prefect location, just on the edge of town with a short walk to shops, dinning, and a history lesson. We were sad and didnt want to leave on Sunday. Will definately be back again.

Mike and Marj have a very special gift. As hosts of the Keystone Inn, they have a very warm, inviting spirit which permeates throughout the inn. Our stay was relaxing, our room super clean, and an excellent breakfast each morning. thank you!

The inn itself is charming, cozy, clean, and tidy. It is just outside of the town center, which makes it quiet but still convenient. Our room was comfortable, with beautiful furniture, lots of pretty lamps, deep window sills, high ceilings with a fan, and a nice-sized bathroom which was furnished with lush towels and toiletries. The bed dipped towards the center a bit, but was comfortable besides that. The breakfast was delicious! Their website advertised the breakfast as all-you-can-eat, but we did not get that impression...either way, it was filling enough! The Wi-Fi didn't work for us in our room, but it could have just been our computer. We would recommend the Keystone Inn in a heartbeat. The owners are wonderful people and they keep the place very nice. We hope to visit again someday!

Mike and Marj you have a "gem" on your hands and you are excellent innkeepers. Keep up the good work. The inn was exceptionally clean and beautiful, the food was delicious and a second helping was offered. Only a few blocks from the square in Gettysburg, but the peace and quite was a blessing. Will not hesitate to stay here again.
