Brickhouse Inn

The Brick House Inn is absolutely lovely, Very comfortable, clean, great location, wonderful breakfasts, and delightful innkeepers. My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

This is our sixth stay at the Brickhouse and it never dissappoints. Beautiful rooms, lovely service and a top notch B & B. Tessa and Brian do a wonderful job and make ewveryone welcome.

My husband and I were at the Brickhouse Inn for the weekend before Thanksgiving for the 4th year in a row. Brian, Tessa, Lee, and all the staff treat you like family, the rooms are beautifully decorated and maintained as if they were staying there, and there are no words for Tessa's breakfast's!!!! Make sure you have the shoo fly pie and ask for the Apricot French Toast. mange, mange!!

Tessa, Brian and staff were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were amazing and my fiancee loved the chocolate chip cookies. We have already recommended the Brickhouse Inn to a few people. We will definitely will be back. Hopefully we wil get to experiance a ghost next time.

This was our first B&B experience and it was absolutely incredible. I will never stay in a different B&B in all of Gettysburg. The garden is wonderful, breakfast is out of this world and our room was incredible (Carriage house). We enjoyed this experience so much that we'll be making a special trip to Gettysburg next year with this wonderful establishment in mind. The Inn Keepers were very knowledgeable and eager to assist with anything we needed. I can't wait to stay in the Kentucky room for our next visit. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone who enjoys them.

Only spent one night here, but wish we'd had more time. Brian and Tessa made us feel very much at home in this lovely and historical house. Baked goods and lemonade were waiting for us when we arrived, and the breakfast was very tasty too. Our first stay at a B&B was at the Brickhouse Inn and it was wonderfull! Brian and Tessa were wonderfull hosts! The rooms were beautifull and clean, the food was awsome! Tessa and Brian are knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and helpful. We arrived after a long drive and immediately took their advice to visit the museum and cyclorama. They are very knowledgeable about the area and services, and we had a wonderful stay -- including the "extra" young lady who sat with us for breakfast. The three of us -- ladies of a certain age -- enjoyed our trip and would do it again in a heartbeat!

We had such a wonderful weekend at the Brickhouse Inn. The Inn is beautiful and almost everything is withing walking distance. Breakfast was delicious and the innkeepers and staff were so helpful and accomadating. We only wish we could have talked more, but we were out and about with so much to do in Gettysburg. Also Brian emailed me about my stay and answered all my questions, including where to dine to making our reservations. My family and i will definately be back.

My hubby and I wanted a weekend getaway. After looking on the internet we chose the BHI for it's great reviews, central historic location and good rates. We also booked an Ultimate Gettysburg package and upgraded to a 3 hour tour, as reccomended. It was everything we could have wanted. Brian and Tessa are amazing. All the staff was extremely helpful and gracious. The back yard grounds are a slice of quiet paradise. The breakfast was imcomparable. Our one and ONLY issue: we booked the New York room which was fabulous , not to feminine for my spouse. BUT a word of warning, if you are not used to traffic noises (we live in the boondocks) you may want to book a room on the other side of the Inn for a better nite's sleep.. But, please, stay here. You won't regret it!

WE spent a very enjoyable 2 days at the Brickhouse Inn. The room was very nice and comfortable with a gas firplace. Socially with the guest was very nice. We met quite a few new friends taht we hope to keep in contact with. Breakfast was DELICIOUS! Our hosts were great, anything with asked for, they were there to accomodate us. We would love to stay there again and visit all the great things in Gettysburg.

We had a lovely time at the Inn. The owners were very kind. The property is very well maintained and the New York Suite provided complete privacy in each room. The Maryland Room was lovely also. Definitely recommend

A wonderful place to stay, key to all of the points of interest. Brian & Tess are great hosts. Very helpful in arranging tours and providing information. Breakfast is fantastic. Try the kiesch, it is great. Check out the wonderful English garden yard. A great place to relax and have a glass of wine or beer. Don't forget the short ribs at "J" and try the Dobbin house.

We were very happy with our stay. The room was attractive and welcoming after a day on the road and very well located for enjoying Gettysburg. The parking is convenient and the house beautiful. Breakfast was very good, although we didn't care for the (weak) cinnamon-tinged coffee. We made the mistake of taking a key away with us: owners were patient encough to allow us to mail it back, which we appreciated. Would definitely stay again, and recommend Gettysburg highly as a vacation destination.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMMENDED! The best location in Gettysburg--so close to the battlefield and all the action! Walking distance to great restaurants, shops and the downtown area, yet the inn itself with the garden and koi pond is a quiet, peaceful oasis away from the crowds. Tessa and Brian are the most gracious and welcoming innkeepers, and Melanie and Lee on their staff are absolutely wonderful. Everyone helped us make the most of our short stay and coordinated all the extras to surprise my friend with a delicious birthday cake. The breakfast is first rate and the hospitality gets an A+++. An added bonus is that the Welty House is a Civil War Building and there are bullet holes on the balcony--it was like having a piece of history all to ourselves during our stay.

My daughter and I stayed at The Brickhouse Inn this July and we can't wait to go back next summer. Our stay was for 5 nights and we could have stayed longer! The Ohio Room was just our size and very quiet even with the traffic out front of the house. We were greeted by Melanie who assisted with all of our questions, including Gettysburg College. My daughter and I looked forward to the next morning's breakfast and to our delight Brian and Tess always served something different and tasty! The location of the Inn was perfect for us since we enjoyed getting our history during the day and ghosthunting at night! We loved the wrap around porch to share stories with other guests as well as the beautiful garden to read and cool off. We highly, highly recommend a stay at The Brickhouse Inn. May be we can get back there before next summer!

My two pre-teen daughters and I stayed at the Brickhouse Inn for three nights. What an amazing experience! We booked the "Ultimate Gettysburg Package" and I'm glad we did. The service was fantastic. My daughter's and I had a vacation we will always remember. The food at the B&B was excellent, and the location is within walking distance of downtown Gettysburg. We also went on a ghost tour and took an authentic Victorian photo at the Victorian Photography studio. I want to thank Tessa and Brian for a wonderful stay. Please visit the Brickhouse Inn....you won't regret it. My daughters are already asking when we're going back there. We definitely will stay at the Brickhouse Inn again.

Not only is the Brickhouse B&B a gem, but Brian & Tess, the owners are a treasure too. Their calm natures match the serene gardens on the property. They arranged a private battlefield tour for us and our guide, John Wiexel, was outstanding. Delicious breakfasts, beautiful restored buildings, prime location, top notch service and Victorian charm are only a few highlights of our stay at the Brickhouse Inn.

We booked the Alabama Room in the Welty House the week before we arrived. The Inn was beautiful and quiet. We were met by Lee, a very friendly and helpful manager. Tessa and Brian were gracious hosts. The breakfasts were outstanding. We do plan on staying in the Inn again, and we are telling everyone we know that the best place to stay in Gettysburg is the Brickhouse Inn.

What a fabulous B&B! Our room (Georgia) was wonderful, the staff was very welcoming, and the ambiance of the Inn and gardens was serene and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, also. We thank Tessa and Brian and their lovely staff for creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Our stay at Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg was truly memorable, in so many ways. The property itself and its amenities are absolutely superb. Tessa and Brian could not have been more welcoming and helpful, particularly after our unexpected run in with a deer! Breakfast in the splendid garden setting was a joy on each of the sunny mornings during our stay. The food was delicious and abundant - our first experience of Shoofly Pie!! First and certainly not our last visit to Gettysburg. It was wonderful! Everything we wanted and more. My wife and I spent 2 days in Gettysburg at Brickhouse Inn on our Summer vacation. We were completely satisfied with every part of our stay. Brian and Tessa were kind and attentive and made our stay most memorable. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff even did everything they could to accommodate my wife's special dietary needs. The food was truly gourmet. Would stay again without any hesitation. The Brickhouse Inn certainly is the premier B&B in Gettysburg. The perfect location provides easy walking access to many of the great attractions and restaurants. From the moment of arrival Brian and Tessa make you feel as a welcomed guest in the clean and comfortable historic homes. Beautiful gardens and a delicious breakfast will have you fueled for the day's activities. All staff are knowledgeable and helpful in any planning of activities/dining for first time visitors. The Brickhouse Inn will be our choice of stay anytime we return!

My sisters and I just spent a wonderful weekend at the Brickhouse Inn. Since we currently live in 3 different states, we have to plan to get together. We are already planing to return to the Brickhouse Inn. The innkeepers, Tessa and Brian, could not be more gracious as well as knowledgeable about the area and, important to us, its restaurants. They gave us excellent advice for both Friday and Saturday night dinners. The inn itself is lovely, comfortable, clean and very centrally located for Gettysburg activities. Breakfast was delicious -- a leisurely way to begin a full day of sightseeing! There are lots of choices for B&Bs in Gettysburg -- we feel very fortunate to have found the Brickhouse Inn on our first try!

This is a wonderful place to stay when at Gettysburg! It is close to the battlefield, close to many other attractions in town, and the innkeepers-Tessa and Brian- and their staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and pampered. A wonderful, and unexpected plus of staying here, are the beautiful flowers and tress on the property. They are a great place to relax after a long day on the battlefield. My husband and I both believe that this was the best B&B in which we have ever stayed. It is conveniently located within walking distance to the battlefield and to dining and historical points of interest. Our room was well-appointed and clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast, which was served in their lovely garden, was delicious and plentiful. They serviced cake and cookies throughout the day as well as a large selection of teas and coffee. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Gettysburg.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Ohio room for 2 nights and we absolutely loved it! The most important thing to me was that the place was extremely clean and that made me feel very comfortable. The gardens and scenery are beautiful! Everyone was very nice and breakfast was delicious! The B&B is in a great location. It was nice to be able to tour the battlefields and walk around town and then come back to the room when we needed a break. Our friends recommended the Brickhouse B&B Inn for our vacation/honeymoon. The location is perfect as there are restaurants and stores within walking distance, yet in your room or on the porch, you feel like you have stepped back in time. Tessa, Brian and all the folks at the Inn treat you like royalty. Breakfasts were perfect every day, they were so accommodating with my food allergies and the eggs dijon are a must have. In addition, of course desert after the main course just makes this whole experience beyond words. The rooms are neat and clean to perfection, yet you feel right at home. Beautiful facility. Poignant reminders of the war include bullett holes in the walls. Brian is very bright and hospitable. Breakfast is hearty. All in all a very fine place. The town offers little except the really interesting battlefield. Have Brian recommend a tour guide.

On our recent stay we brought friends who had never stayed at a B&B before - it was a wonderful experience for all of us; our rooms were perfect. Brian, Tessa, and Lee were so accomodating and gracious throughout our stay. The Brickhouse Inn is an immaculate, historic, and guest friendly inn right in the heart of downtown Gettysburg. So many rooms to choose from - we have stayed in 3 different rooms so far and plan to visit again next year - it's hard to pick a favorite - we like them all! The rear gardens are serene and welcoming, right down to the resident frog in the pond - a perfect place to spend a little quiet time in the evening after a busy day on the battlefield. Breakfasts are good and pentiful and a fine way to meet fellow travellers with similar interests; Brian and Tessa made a point of visiting with their guests at breakfast and were so helpful in providing information on places to eat, places to visit, etc - they are a wealth of information. Thank you Brian, Tessa, Lee and the rest of your staff for your gracious hospitality and attention to detail which assured us of a pleasant, relaxing stay.

If you are looking for a step-back in time to the Civil War, yet have all the comfort and enjoyment of today, this is the place to stay. My husband is an author and has found the Brickhouse to be a place of inspiration and relaxation. It has a wonderful garden with a bubbling stream and even frogs to make you feel like you are in a magical place! Breakfast is A++too!

We had a lovely weekend at The Brickhouse Inn this past weekend. My husband and I took my parents and it was the perfect choice. Brian and Tessa were the perfect innkeepers and were so attentive. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious each morning. The location was perfect and even though it was on a busy street, it was a refuge from the tourists down below. I only wish it were closer so that we could visit more often. If you ever find yourself in the region, it would be worth a few extra miles out of the way to stay there!

This trip to the Brickhouse was arranged by our daughter inlaw as an anniversary gift. She made an excellant choice for our getaway. It was the details that made the stay at Brickhouse enjoyable. Staff at the Inn bent over backwards to satisfy our every need. Upon arrival all we had to do was pick up the tickets and everything was arranged. Although this inn is just steps from everything, it is a classic peaceful haven with two charming and delightful inkeepers. The only thing that seemed awkward was tables reserved for groups traveling together at breakfast, which made the rest of us feel odd. I understand why groups would want this and I don't see any other solution but it was the only off note in a delightful stay.

The Brickhouse Inn is awesome! Tessa and Brian are truly gracious hosts, and took care of our every need. Ditto for every staff member there too. The whole B&B is immaculate in every way and the food truly outstanding. The coffee is great too (and we are coffee snobs) :-) The location is the best in town. It's within a 1-3 minute walking distance of all major attractions except the battleground which is only about a 2-3 minute drive. Our certified guide met us right in the living room and drove us there. He knew everything about the battle, telling us in detail what happened at what time of day and names of all the officers. The attractions packages are great. Melanie (inn manager) made all reservations for us which was so very helpful. Everything was done and just waiting for us to arrive. We definitely recommend the Brickhouse Inn 1,000%! When we return, we wouldn't even think about staying at a different location.

A fine Inn for a fine town. This was my first stay in a B&B and the Brickhouse Inn exceeded all expectations, yet I found it to be an excellent value. Would definitely stay again. Ryan, Maryland

This was the first time we stayed at a B&B. We were looking for a short weekend vacation from Baltimore over President's Day weekend. We were very pleased with the spacious accommodations of the South Carolina room. The location was great, walking distance to all of the historic area restaurants and shops. The house and grounds are very well kept and must be beautify in the spring when everything is in bloom. Breakfast is a 3 course delicious meal every morning and the staff and inn keepers are very nice. We ended up booking a three hour car tour per their recommendations and it was well worth it. If we find ourselves in Gettyburg again, we will surely look to stay here as well as recommend it to friends.

We spent a wonderful weekend here and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Warm, cozy and near all the history of Gettysburg, it's a must for the traveler who wants to get away and unwind! Spent two nights at this charming B+B. Most impressed with the overall cleanliness . The hospitality recieved leaves you with a most welcome feeling.The location could not be beat. Going there in the off season had maney advantages. I would recommend this Inn to anyone.

This stay was from 01/06/12 to 01/09/12. We had friends meet us there and we all had a great a time as always. Brian, Tess and the wonderful staff took care of our needs like we were family. Again, we will be staying at the Brickhouse in October, 2012.

This is our 10th or 11th year (lost count) staying in Gettysburg on New Year's Eve. As always, our stay was stupendous! That's why we continue to stay at Brickhouse each year. We had a complimentary bottle of wine + everything was great. They always accommodate my special dietary needs. Thnx Brickhouse for another wonderful stay!!

Our stay at the most comfortable inn--loved the hot water radiators--was enhanced by the thoughtful suggestions of our hosts. Absolutely follow their advice to hire a guide for Gettysburg battlefields, and the two restaurants we chose from the several they suggested both earn high marks.

This was our second wonderful stay at the Brickhouse Inn. The owners and staff were gracious and welcoming. The room was beautifully furnished and exceptionally maintained. We will return again!

We stayed in the Virginia room on a Saturday night in December. The accommodations were cozy and clean. The staff was super friendly and even booked our battlefield tour guide for us. Location was great, walking distance to the center of town and the Dobbin House Tavern (recommended dinner spot). Breakfast was very well done, and I really appreciated the carrot cake, cookies, and coffee available in the dining room throughout the weekend. I will recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Gettysburg, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else on my next trip out there!

We spent 3 nights at the Brickhouse Inn and enjoyed it very much. It was our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast and it couldn't have been better. We chose to stay in the Victorian house and the room was very comfortable and the inside of the house itself was very nice and very well kept. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and Tessa and Brian were great hostesses. We enjoyed talking with them very much. If we are ever in Gettysburg again we will definitely stay a the Brickhouse Inn and will recommend it to all our friends.

The Brickhouse Inn was a delightful overnite stay with gracious hosts and all the amenities. Wonderful breakfast to start the day. Clean rooms, period furnishings and genuine, friendly owners/hosts. 6 in our group and all very pleased (2nd stay for one couple). Location is perfect and easy parking in the rear. This is our second stay at the Brickhouse Inn Bed & Breakfast. The hospitality is very gracious; the accomadations are beautiful and immaculate; and the food is unbelievably delicious. We are looking forward to returning next Remembrance Day weekend!

My husband booked two nights at the Brickhouse Inn in the Georgia Room. It was a beautiful house with great accommodations. The staff was warm and welcoming and the grounds are great. (We will have to come back in the summer). We enjoyed the porch in the back of the Welty House. Overall a great stay, I would recommend and likely return back. Enjoy!

What can I say about our stay at the Brickhouse Inn. First of all, I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay there. Tessa and Brian were so friendly and even went out of their way to know our names, even though they had a full house(s) of tourists to deal with. What attracted Carin and I to the Bickhouse Inn was the history of the place. On our first night there, we stayed in the Victorian House which was built around 1898. We loved the old time charm of the place, right down to the old fashioned door knobs! Our remaining 2 nights were spent next door in the Welty house. This was a special experience for a history geek like myself due to it being there at the time of the battle. The bullet holes in the walls of the house are a testament to that and really made the experience “real” to me. The rooms were furnished in such a way that one might think at it was 1863 and not 2011. Carin and I also loved the garden behind the houses. I refer to it as the oasis. Well shaded, the sound of the running water from the pond…. a great way to unwind and reflect after a day of touring the battlefield. No one could blame you for dozing off in the oasis. The location of Brickhouse Inn was also a deciding factor in choosing where we would stay. The Inn was so close to the battlefield!! Carin and I took a short walk each morning before breakfast to Cemetery Hill and Culps Hill. It was so nice to beat the tour buses there! To view each monument and let our imaginations take us back to 1863 was truly a unique experience. So, what can I say about the Brickhouse Inn? See above!! I could also go on and on but seeing and staying is believing.

We had a wonderful stay at the inn with the October record falling snow. It is within walking distance of downtown so we could walk everywhere to eat and shop. The room (carriage house) was great, very private and very very clean. Can't wait to go back.

This-our 5th stay- was, as always, a most enjoyable and memorable experience. Brian and Tessa do everything to make one feel special. The rooms are lovely and impeccably clean, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfasts are outstanding. The sitting rooms and outdoor sitting areas are inviting and peaceful. This year we did a 3 hours personal battlefield tour with a guide recommended and secured by Brian. It was excellent! And never question a recommendation given by Brian or Tessa about local restaurants or attractions...whatever it is, it will be worth your while. As always, our stay at the Brickhouse Inn was superb. The Kentucky Suite is beautiful and our hosts took care of the little extras, from making sure a bottle of wine awaited us in our room to making our dinner reservations, that made this a carefree and truly relaxing getaway. Innkeepers Brian and Tessa are simply the best and breakfast, as always, was the exclamation point to a wonderful stay. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Gettysburg.

Even though the weather did not cooperate for my surprise trip for my husband to Gettysburg, we had a great time. The Inn was cozy and friendly. We met some really nice people from all over the country. The garden/patio area was really nice (wet, but nice). Everything was clean and well maintained and such gracious hosts. We will certainly be back for our next trip.

Our group of friends visited Gettysburg last week. We did our homework and chose an inn carefully. The glowing comments by other guests were not overstated--this place is outstanding in every way. I was greeted by Lee, a lovely young woman who was polite, articulate, and professional. She showed me to my room, a beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and very quiet room with a porch overlooking the lovely garden. The brick wall ouside the room bear scars and bullet holes from the battles. Breakfast was delicious; tea and coffee were available 24 hours in the parlor, and homemade cookies and cake was offered every afternoon. A highlight of my stay was having dinner with Lee. When she learned that my friends wouldn't arrive until the following day, she invited me to join her at a nearby restaurant. I felt very welcomed. Thanks to all at the lovely Brickhouse Inn. I will return.

This was our third trip to Gettysburg within the past 5 years and all three times we have stayed at the Brickhouse Inn. Tessa and Brian are warm and friendly and made us right at home. The atmosphere is perfect for the time period of the Civil War and brings history to life. This is always the first place we contact when planning a trip to Gettysburg. The breakfast are fantastic and we are never disappointed. I recommend highly.

In Gettysburg, there's no better way to enjoy the area than to stay at a B&B, and stay we did - 5 days. We are the honeymooners, and not to be mistaken with the "Kramdens". After plenty of discussion about where to go and stay for our honeymoon, we decided to descend on Gettysburg. We scoured the internet to determine which of the B&B's would be the best option for us and came across The Brickhouse Inn. The reviews we read, and not to mention the website, were convincing enough for us. We were not disappointed. We decided to stay in the Texas Room, which is on the front of the Welty House. There's no better way to experience the history of Gettysburg than to stay in a place that stood in the line of fire during the Battle. The Welty House still bears the scars of war on its exterior. The service was outstanding. Prior to our arrival, we were allowed the option of choosing which seating we would prefer for our breakfast. Breakfast did not disappoint, and the staff attentive. One does not leave the table hungry, unless by choice. We would recommend the Shoofly Pie, which is a wonderful way to end breakfast. We would also recommend enjoying one or more of the special add-on packages. They do not disappoint. If you are planning a surprise for your special someone, the staff takes great pains to ensure that it is a surprise. Finally, we found the staff to be extremely helpful and welcome to questions and comments. We recommend The Brickhouse Inn and look forward to our return someday in the future.

We spent two lovely nights at the Brickhouse Inn. The gardens are just lovely, and we were fortunate to chose a room that opened to the back porch/patio and also to the front porch. The room was very clean and furnished with wonderful antiques and a fun claw-foot tub. We were able to dine on the patio at breakfast with our friends and were served with a smile. It was a wonderful weekend - we will be back for sure!

Every year on the way to the beach we drive past Gettysburg and my poor husband always comments that he would like to stop there some time on the way back and explore Gettysburg. He is always met with "NO, NO, NO", from other family members. So this year, I told him for a retirement present we were going to Gettysburg for an entire weekend, just the two of us, and he could do whatever he wanted, and explore battlefields to his hearts content. The Brickhouse Inn exceeded our expectations. Wonderful location, we could walk to so many things, very clean and most comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast and cookies and drinks were an added afternoon treat. The weather did not cooperate and we didn't get to enjoy the garden's like we hoped we would, but that was out of Tess's control. We will recommend this inn to all of our friends and hope to stay again in the future when we can enjoy their beautiful outdoor gardens.

Our stay at the Brickhouse was The Best. The staff was friendly and could not do Enough for us. We stayed in the Kentucky suite and the room could not be any nicer. The Inn is in a great location with many restaurants and shops in walking distance. The food was excellent and the gardens were beautiful. We are planning to return every year for our anniversary . My husband and I live in the DC area and wanted a quick getaway without the children :) The Brickhouse Inn was perfect!! It was beautiful and immaculate and we were greated warmly when we checked in by Lee she gave suggestions about where to eat for dinner and what to do in town my only complaint is that we only stayed one night!! The breakfast was delicious and Friday evening there were fresh baked cookies and spice cake and we sat out in the beautiful garden and had a lovely evening cannot say enough good things about the brickhouse inn we will definately be back to stay longer!!!! I recently stayed again at the Brickhouse Inn and as soon as I entered the back gardens I had the feeling of being home. I had forgotten how charming and peaceful the gardens are...a place of refuge after a busy day. Brian and Tessa have furnished the inn with comfortablility without sacrificing novelty and the historical setting. I stayed in the Virginia Room which was perfect for one or two adults --cozy without being crowded. The proximity of the inn to downtown as well as to the Battlefield is also an added plus. Every time I enter or exit through the wrought iron gate in front of the inn, I feel as though I'm traveling back to the 1800's...but without the hardships. The rooms were expertly decorated, extremely clean and neat, the gardens beautifully maintained and the porches and the rocking chairs very inviting. The breakfasts and afternoon refreshments wonderful!! The Inn is centrally located and a very easy walk/commute to all the local attractions. Tessa & Brian were a wealth of information and assistance! We ate at the Dobbins House, The Pub downtown Chambersburg Square and Mama Ventura's. The food was good, atmosphere particularly good at the Dobbins House. The only problem was that our stay could have been longer!! What a treat; hope to return sometime soon! Mary, NC

We came to the Brickhouse for our honeymoon and couldnt have asked for a better place to start and end the day. Brain, Tessa and the entire staff were extremely nice and welcoming. The location is also within walking distance of anywhere you might want to check out. Breakfast in the morning was great also. Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone heading to the area!

My husband and I stayed in the Georgia Room with a balcony over looking an amazing garden.The room was sparkling clean and the bed was sooo comfortable. We had the best breakfast on the patio and planned our day.Tessa and Brian were always there to help with suggestions of places to visit.Dinner at the Dobbin House, a Ghost Tour with Miss Betty, a horse back tour of the battlefields with General Lee and a Victorian photo were the highlights of our trip to Gettysburg. We hope to return soon.

My wife and I are completely satisfied and happy with everything about our stay at the Brickhouse Inn. Not only were Brian and Tessa very polite but all of our reservations were already made and in place when we arrived to the different venues that we selected to go to and attend. This was our first experience with an Inn and we will DEFINATELY be coming back. From the first class breakfast on the patio to our last goodbye we are completely satisfied and will miss the Brickhouse Inn until our next arrival!!!

My wife and I discovered the Brickhouse Inn shortly after it initially opened for business and greatly enjoyed our nearly annual visits. We were unnecessarily cautious when we were informed that the business changed hands. Over the past years we have come to enjoy our stays even more with the consistency of service, cleanliness, and kinds words from Tessa, Brian and staff. We have provided family members with gift certificates to stay and we both look forward to continued visits to the Brickhouse and friends.

My husband Tommy and I stayed the last three days of our honeymoon at the Brickhouse Inn and had a wonderful time. Tess and Brian...the whole staff...are absolutely wonderful! The breakfast was great and the room was so clean and comfortable. We cannot wait to go back next year.

We stayed recently at the Brickhouse Inn and found it to be an excellent choice for our first visit to Gettysburg. Tessa and Brian were great hosts. The breakfast was different every morning and was superbly prepared. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in the North Carolina Room and it was lovely, spacious and very clean. The public areas were wonderfully appointed with period furnishings, paintings and maps. Brian was very knowledgeable about the Gettysburg Battlefield and local spots. We recommend the Brickhouse Inn very highly!

My husband and I don't travel a lot, but when we do, it's important to have the right accommodations. The Brick House Inn was an excellent place to stay. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were a complete meal! The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The grounds well maintained and a pleasure to relax in. It was within walking distance to a lot of places and activities. We definitely would stay there again and highly recommend it to those who like a more intimate, quiet place to stay. The only deficit was being on a main road, the motorcycle traffic was loud if you're not used to city noises.

We brought our bicycles and left our car in the inn's parking place during our stay. The location is ideal - there are lots of shops and restaurants within a few blocks. Gettysburg is such a wonderful little town - so much to see at the national park and do downtown. The cemetary is a block away and the natl park visitor's center a short ride away, on the road where the inn is located. The breakfasts were worth 5 stars. And there was iced tea, water, hot coffee and tea, cookies and cake available all day in the dining room. The room was perfect, all the nice touches and comforts. The bathroom looked like it had never been used. Plush linens. All the best. The backyard and patio, where we ate breakfast is shaded, surrounded by beautiful shrubs and flowers, a bubbling brook, so peaceful and beautiful. I can't imagine a nicer place to vacation. This inn is impeccably maintained, the location is perfect since you can easily walk to town as well as to the shops and attractions on Steinwehr and Baltimore streets, the innkeepers are fabulous, and the breakfasts they served each morning on the outdoor patio were wonderful (as were the freshly baked cookies and cakes in the afternoon). There is also a beautiful secluded shaded lawn behind the inn with a fishpond, stream and waterfall, and comfortable adirondack style wood chairs for relaxing. The entire experience was fabulous and i'd highly recommend it!

We have been to Gettysburg many times, but this was our first experience staying at the Brickhouse Inn. We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay and our accommodations. We were in the Carriage House and found it very quiet and private. The meals were out of this world delicious! All of the people were friendly, helpful, and most gracious. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We definitely will return here.

My wife and I enjoyed a 4 night stay at the Brickhouse inn. Tess and Brian along with the rst of the staff were great. Brian helped us book all the tours and even arraigned a private tour guide, the guide cost $50.00 but it was money well spent getting a private guide to take us around the battlefield. We will definitely go back again.

The Brickhouse Inn is a fantastic place to stay while in Gettysburg. The Inn itself sets the stage for the historic journey of revisiting one of our Country's great Civil War battlefields. The Innkeepers have tastefully decorated the rooms in keeping with the historic era, while providing all of the amenities desirable today. The rooms, patios and gardens are comfortable and provide a quiet, tranquil atmosphere... all surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. The food and snacks at the Inn were delicious. We were given excellent advice on where to dine and what sites to see....and, they offered to make arrangments for anything we wanted to do and see. We have stayed at many bed & breakfasts over the years and the Brickhouse Inn is definitely one of the best. We definitely recommend it and plan to visit again.

Our 3 grown children purchased a stay for us at the Brickhouse Inn for our anniversary. What a treat! The inn is beautiful, as is the outdoor dining area and surrounding gardens. This is a historical building - the room we stayed in still had bullet holes outside on the balcony area. The rooms are comfy, clean and welcoming. We sat out on our 2nd floor balcony in the evenings, enjoying the chocolate strawberries and wine that we were also gifted with. Breakfasts are SOOO good! We ate outdoors on the patio with "our neighbors". Parking is off street. The location couldn't be any better - within walking distance of the town attractions and close enough to the bus tours and museums that you can walk there too. I would definitely recommend staying here for a special getaway!

My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's over the years. The Brickhouse Inn rates with the best. Why? Because the room we stayed in was all we expected. Because Brian and Tess are personable and genuine hosts. Because it's location puts you in the center of things. Because the setting in the backyard is simply special. The Brickhouse Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. This B & B is run with the professionalism and attention to detail that you would expect from a 5 star boutique hotel but has maintained all the warmth and hospitality you would expect from a Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are beautifully appointed but also function well: enough light to read by, lights that dim, ceiling fans, air conditioning, television, Wifi, etc. all without depleting the charm of the tasteful antique furnishings. The breakfasts are interesting, generous and elegantly served in a casual atmosphere. The Innkeepers are also only too happy to help with organising tours, guides, dinner reservations and anything that you might require during your stay. We stayed at many B & B's in many states on our trip and the Brickhouse Inn rated number one with us.

The Brickhouse Inn is a wonderful place to stay in Gettysburg. The innkeepers are friendly and helpful, the inn is charming (especially love the rocking chairs on the porch), and it's located in the heart of town very near the battlefield. We hope to stay there again.

This was our second stay at the Brickhouse Inn and I will not stay anywhere else when visiting Gettysburg. Brian and Tess are so welcoming and pleasant you will feel right at home. The rooms are always clean and the garden in back is beautiful and well kept. It is nice to sit at any one of the numerous tables in the garden in the afternoon or evening to enjoy a glass of wine and just relax. The garden is well light at night. I have a food allergy and Tess always accommodates my needs with a breakfast that I can eat. The Inn is located at a perfect place in town where everything except the Visitors Center Museum is within walking distance. Give this place a try and you will be glad you did. My husband and I went for a short getaway and were just delighted by our accomodations. The house is historically decorated and has beautiful gardens. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the private balcony sipping tea in the evenings. The breakfasts were very good and the afternoon sweets hit the spot after touring the areas sights. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. We are very likely to return in the future.

Our son has taken an interest in the battles of the Civil War, so our family decided to make a trip to Gettysburg. What a memorable experience to spend a night at the Brickhouse Inn and know we were sleeping in a house that was there during the Civil War! The Inn is perfectly situated in downtown Gettysburg and is walking distance to the Cemetary and numerous other attractions as well as restaurants for dinner. The owners and staff are wonderful, breakfast was scrumptious, and the gardens are beautiful. If you are travelling to Gettysburg, you must spend a night at The Brickhouse Inn!

This has been my 4th stay here at the Brickhouse (4-29 to 5-1 2011) and as always it was wonderful! Our host & hostess are the sweetest people and always asking if everything is alright and do we need anything. The rooms are impecably kept and breakfast is always delicious. It's my only choice for a B&B in Gettysburg, it's walking distance to just about everything. My usband & I have been coming to Gettysburg for about 7 years now and we have stayed at other B&B's but have not had the same experiance as we do here. We will definatly be coming back again & again!!

We stayed in the main house of the Brickhouse Inn in Gettysburg during the Spring Break in March. What a wonderful surprise! The hosts - Tessa & Brian were so welcoming, friendly, informative and helpful. The attention to detail was truly great, the breakfasts were excellent, the location very central and the rooms were tastefully decorated. It was such a pleasure after a chilly day of sightseeing to return to this historical Inn to find hot coffee & homemade cookies awaiting us in the beautiful dining area! This was our first B&B experience. The Brickhouse Inn is the perfect location to stay when visiting Gettysburg. The central location makes it a pefect place to walk and explore the town. Rooms are very clean and have everything you need. It takes you back to a past time, but gives you all of the amenities of a modern hotel. Brian, Tessa, and the staff do everything they can to make your experience memorable. They help with tour info, restaurants options, and any other questions or requests you may have. They cook a wonderful breakfast each day. Also, there is always a snack and beverage available for you. Whether you are in town for sight seeing or just getting away and want to relax on the porch or patio, this is the perfect place to stay. I cant say enough positive things about The Brickhouse. This was a weekend suprise birthday getaway for my husband and our first B&B experience. WOW! They, (Brian, Tess, staff), somehow make each guest feel like they're the only guest in the place! It was beautiful, clean, and the food was out of this world! I've never suprised my husband as well as I did this time and I can't take any of the credit, except by booking the Brickhouse Inn. Our first trip to Gettysburg was fabulous mainly due to The Brickhouse. We were greeted by Brian and immediately knew we made a great choice. He was very proper, yet warm, and invited us to put our bags down so we could enjoy some fresh afternoon baked goodies. We stayed in the North Carolina suite, which had a bedroom, private bath, sitting room with rocker and a day bed, and also our own balcony overlooking the gardens. It was very nice to have all that space to relax. The room was immaculate, and the bed very comfy. Breakfasts were phenomenal with a fruit start, main course, AND a dessert! I've never had a dessert for breakfast but it was a sweet ending to the meal. The Inn was very helpful in arranging a private guide for a tour of the battlefield and also a ghost tour. The location is close to the visitor center, restaurants, the circle with shopping, and the battlefield. We walked to many places. We loved everything about the Brickhouse and would definitely stay there again if we make it back to Gettysburg.

As frequent patrons of B&Bs, my wife and I were not disappointed with the Brickhouse Inn. The Inn consists of two beautiful brick buildings perched close to the edge of the battlefield and conveniently located near shopping and dining. Had the weather been a bit warmer, most of the town of Gettysburg would have been readily accessible by walking. We stayed in the Kentucky Suite in the older of the two buildings that was present during the battle. Our room was quite large, with a bedroom and a separate sitting room with wing back chairs, both with faux wood stove fireplaces. The bathroom was also spacious, complete with a large claw foot bath tub. Off of the bathroom was a private balcony with rocking chairs, although it was a bit too cold during our trip to enjoy that space. The exterior wall of the balcony bore the scars of bullet holes from close fighting during the battle of Gettysburg, which was a really interesting historical connection. The breakfasts were also excellent, with a terrific variety. Each breakfast was three courses, including a choice of dessert, which we have never seen at a B&B. In the afternoons, there were fresh baked cookies and cakes served with coffee or tea in the dining room as well. Brian and Tessa, the Innkeepers were very gracious and helpful with recommendations on dining and making reservations for tours or meals. The grounds of the property were also very well maintained, including a waterfall, pond and large outdoor seating areas. Given that we stayed at the end of March, we didn't get to see the full effect of the property, but the gardeners were preparing for spring flowers, which must be incredible. Overall, this was one of the best B&Bs that we have ever stayed in. We would absolutely come back and would recommend it to anyone.

My daughter and I recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit this delightful B&B while on an overnight visit to Gettysburg. Brian and Tessa, the owners of the Inn, are meticulous when it comes to details from the atmosphere of the main Inn to the individual decor of the guest rooms. Everything is so clean, neat and tastefully done. We stayed in the Texas Room and I must admit the canopy bed was as big as the state of Texas; we even needed a stool to get into the bed! Brian was extremely knowledgeable about local venues to visit and especially great places to eat. He recommended the Dobbins House, we followed his suggestion, he made an immediate reservation and, needless to say, we had a superb meal there. Tessa's breakfast the next morning was another delightful way to start a bright, new day. We feasted on a selection of teas, juice and coffee along with delicious melons topped with rich yogurt, quiche, sausage, muffins and, with little room left for any more, ended our breakfast with shoe-fly pie and a lemon tart. Talk about being satisfied! We hated to leave such a wonderful stay at the Brickhouse Inn and my daughter and I are awaiting another return in the not too distant future! Deborah and Eliza Mc.

Charming historical b&b with a great location. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts very helpful. The personal guide that Brian set up for us was a highlight, helping us to understand the battle at a reasonable price. Linens were the best I've ever slept on away from home.

We had an outstanding stay at the Brickhouse Inn over the weekend of Feb. 26/27. Our hosts were very pleasant to deal with and were extremely helpful and cordial. The Inn itself is beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. I only wish we had been able to stay there in warmer weather, as the outside sitting arrea and garden looks very inviting. well done!

Could not say anything didn't exceed our expectations. The house was gorgeous, done in beautiful taste and exceptionally clean and cozy. I felt we were the only ones staying there when we were in our suite - could not hear anyone else even though the place was very full. My husband said they were the nicest people at any bed & breakfast we've stayed at - and we've stayed at alot! The breakfasts were delicious and they even catered to our 11 yr old, who would rather not have anything gourmet. There's also so much to do in Gettysburg, even in Feb., which is off season. Skiing & tubing is 20 min. away and of course all the history! Some of the museums were closed but there was still so much to do and no crowds! Would stay at the Brickhouse again in a minute.

I travel to Gettysburg 8-12 times a year and I have stayed in just about every Bed and Breakfast in the borough. The Brickhouse Inn is without rival in terms of comfort, hosptiality, well appointed rooms, amenities and charm. It's central location to the battlefield as well as the town of Gettysburg is excellent. The Welty House, part of the Brickhouse Inn's room choices, played a role in the battle and also appears in the now famous photo of the processional up the Baltimore Pike just prior to Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. Tessa and Brian are superb hosts and a delight to converse with. I will be staying at the Brickhouse much more frequently on future visits to Gettsyburg. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to weekend in Gettysburg and stay no where else but the Brickhouse Inn.

My Wife and I stayed at the Brickhouse Inn for Valentine's weekend which was also her Birthday weekend and had a fantastic time. Brian and Tessa were very gracious host and went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect for each guest. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Brian and Tessa's dining recommendations were spot on. The first night we just wanted something easy and quick, so Tessa recommended Tommy's Pizza which had to be some of the best Pizza we had ever eaten. Brian had made reservations for us at The Dobbins House for Sunday evening and it was outstanding the food was well prepared and the ambiance was perfect for Valentines Day. We will be going back to the Brickhouse Inn

We had a marvelous stay with Brian and Tessa. From late changes to our room due to our daughter coming with us after booking a room for just us, to calling my cell when the housekeeper found a camera we forgot after we had checked out in a hurry to catch us before we left the area, the service has been amazing. The breakfast was incredibly delicious, as was the carrot cake and cookies waiting for us in the kitchen after our arrival - yum! The room was very comfortable and was impeccably clean - you could soak up the history just by standing inside and letting the antique decorations and architecture mesmerize you back in time. Gettysburg itself is a must see destination for all Americans to truly understand the impact of what happened there on today's world. There are a number of excellent restaurants and shops right within walking distance, but a short drive will also take you to even more interesting places including a surprisingly bargain laden outlets. A short walk will put you right on the battlefield, complete with statues and cannons to help your mind jump right into the action. For the ghost hunters or curious out there, I can't think of a better place to go for experiencing the supernatural - and that's all I'm going to say, other than to be sure you try out some of the ghost tours offered - they are truly marvelous. This B&B truly complements the spirit of the amazing town of Gettysburg, and should be considered as important as part of the overall experience as the educational battleground bus tour. You will be very pleased with your accommodations and hospitality offered before and after a busy day experiencing everything Gettysburg has to offer.

The stay at the Birckhouse was very pleasant. We stayed two nights in the NC Suite... very nice, very clean, private bathroom was immaculate. The room was cleaned and towels changed after the first night. The food, however was just OK. The first morning was wonderful... apple pancakes. However, the second day was hit-or-miss... warm egg salad on a toasted English muffin. I hate egg salad, and by the time they never asked if I wanted something else... they just cleared my plate away with everything still on it. They also put cheese on my wife's dish... they asked at check-in if any one had any dietary restrictions, and she told them she is lactose intolerant. No big deal. All-in-all, the stay was great. We would absolutely stay there again.... we'll just be sure to check the little white board with the next day's breakfast menu. Coffee, teas, and cookies stay out all night, though, and you get a three course breakfast... so you won't go hungry, even if the main course isn't appetizing.

This was a very romantic anniversary get away for my husband and I. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The atmosphere of the Bed and Breakfast was warm and inviting. The staff and their service was wonderful. The breakfast was delightful. Lovely experience!

I would highly recommend Brickhouse to anyone! I consider the Inn an excellent combination of historic and modern; great for experiencing the atmosphere of Gettysburg without the stuffiness/"antique shop" feel of some other Bed and Breakfasts. The location is absolutely unbeatable for visiting the Battlefield. We stayed in the Carriage House and the quality of workmanship in the construction was remarkable. The same applies to the Inn as a whole. Breakfast was delicious, exceptionally well prepared and presented, and of considerable portion size. Brian and Tessa are superior hosts (who doesn't love listening to UK accents!) and no detail was left unattended. A uniquely professional operation...and an excellent value to boot. We will be back.

It was a peaceful and quiet stay. The hosts/owners were very personable and caring. They took care of us right away. The food was quite good. We enjoyed our stay very much and will seriously consider a return visit when we go to Gettysburg again.

We were fortunate to stay at the finest B&B in Gettysburg. Brian & Tessa make you feel "at home." The inn is centrally located -- we enjoyed walking to all attractions including the battlefields. We will stay here again.

As long time students of the battle we expected Gettysburg to be a valuable trip, but what we didn't expect was the additional benefit of The Brickhouse Inn. We stayed seven nights and found the breakfasts and the visits with other guests to be one of the highlights of the trip. Our many trips to the battlefield were inspirational and all that we had hoped for, but we enjoyed coming home to the Inn throughout the day for rest and the many pleasantries it offered. We particularly enjoyed the afternoon teas (and treats) along with visits with other guests, and with our hosts, Tessa and Brian. The home sits on Baltimore Pike which saw much of the battle flow up and down the street, the cemetery, and nearby Culp's Hill. We were able to walk to all of these places from the home, and the old town of Gettysburg is equally convenient. The rooms were well-maintained and very clean. The garden was lovely. Even though we are from California, we look forward to another stay at the inn again on a future trip.

We have visited Gettysburg many times, but have never stayed in such style. We have always wanted to stay at the Brickhouse Inn, but have never had the opportunity until now. The inn was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious, and most importantly the innkeepers were most hospitable. They made us feel right at home. We are looking forward to staying there again next year.

Our 4th stay here for the annual Remembrance Day Ceremonies. This B & B is spotless, the staff works tirelessly and is friendly, the breakfasts are served hot and are a culinary treat. The place is quiet and perfectly located walking distance to the best food and the battlefield. I wish I could stay for Christmas ! The heat in the rooms is adjustable as well, nice to be able to take the chill off. We enjoyed the afternoon treats with warm cider as well ! 5 stars.

We had a great experience staying at the Brickhouse Inn in Gettysburg, PA. This Inn is conveniently located to the the Battlefield, the Visitors Center and the town with its shops and restaurants. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfasts were well prepared, the Inkeepers were very helpful and friendly - It's hard to imagine anything better in this price range. We will definitely go back when we were travelling in that area. We highly recommend this B&B!

We have stayed at the Brickhouse Inn twice - we loved it so much that we brought our aunt & uncle with us the second time. Highly recommended. Beautifully decorated rooms, delicious breakfasts and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. I especially loved the desserts that were available during the day along with coffee and tea. Thank you Tessa and Brian!

What a great place, and great staff. Rooms are clean, well appointed and quiet. This inn is close enough to walk to all the places we wanted to see. Highly recommended.

This was our second trip to Gettysburg and it was better than the last. The Brickhouse Inn was awesome. It was absolutely beautiful!! The garden and patio area in the back yard were amazing. We went with three other couples and we were all 100% satisfied. The Texas room was so romantic, we loved the high bed! Breakfast was great, the staff was very friendly, we will definitely stay here again!

Brian and Tess were wonderful hosts!! They took care of all of our reservations and made our stay quite enjoyable!! The venue was beautiful and perfectly located. The food was OUTSTANDING!! Mu husband and I frequently stay at B&B's and I would put this one on the "don't miss" list!

Loved the room, though the air conditioner didn't really cool the room and I could not get their wireless signal in it. Breakfast was wonderful and the setting/location was perfect.

The Brickhouse Inn is fabulous! A beautiful house, wonderful food and lovely landscaping. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts on the patio and I loved the water garden in the back. The inn is very clean and homey. Be sure to enjoy a cookie in the afternoon. Brian and Tessa are a great source of info for what to see in Gettysburg. They and the Brickhouse are wonderful.

The Brickhouse Inn is lovely. It's impeccably clean and tastefully furnished. Located in the heart of the historical section of Gettysburg, we could walk to many of the sights and shopping. The garden landscape was beautiful and inviting as we enjoyed relaxing on a lovely summer evening. Our hosts, Brian and Tessa, were so attentive and nice and do their own cooking each morning for breakfast. You won't find a buffet here - delicious served food and something different each morning. It was really wonderful. We had never been to Gettysburg before, so we took advantage of the option to have Brian arrange tours for us. He did a wonderful job and we had a hassle free weekend.

As always Brian and Tessa are excellent hosts and the staff is very warm and friendly. If you needed anything all were willing to be sure to help. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds are just lovely with the beautiful flowers and the pond--it is so peaceful to sit there at any time of the day or night. The breakfasts are delicious and filling. We have stayed here many times in the past and enjoyed every moment. I would recommend the Brickhouse Inn.
