Fabulous place cleanest inn I've ever been in. My wife and I enjoyed are stay and are looking forward to returning. Wally and Gloria are great host we enjoyed are time spent with them.

I stayed with the Knox's on Christmas Eve. It was a lovely setting with gracious hosts.

We spent the weekend before Christmas for a much needed getaway. This B&B definitely exceeded our expectations in many ways. It was so comfortable, cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Wally & Gloria were wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend staying here and am very disappointed that the innkeepers are retiring and closing this wonderful establishment next fall. When you choose a B&B based on the website, you're never sure it will be the same in person. The Boothby is wonderful! Beautiful inn, great service, easy time.

We have stayed at Boothby for several years and always look forward to the next time! The hospitality and concern for detail could not be better. From making a reservation, excellent amenities, and delicious breakfasts, these owners are "top notch."

Lovely surroundings, peaceful street, breakfast was delicious, innkeepers were helpful & gracious, information at the inn (dinner reviews, maps, etc.) was very helpful, snacks & beverages available were above & beyond, access to a gym was an added bonus, room was clean & comfortable.

The inn is full of charm & character. Beautifully decorated. Rooms are themed on different countries. Wonderful service & food. Most enjoyable experience!

Our stay was wonderful. The litttle extras, especially the little room with all the guest goodies was a nice bonus, and the house was amazing. Every detail, from the pressed sheets to the dvd's was well planned and thoughtful. An exceptional stay with exceptional hosts.

Everything about our stay here was wonderful. We were in France and our bed was so comfortable, the linens so fine, but that shower was divine! We enjoyed sitting downstairs reading while listening to relaxing music. Wally and Gloria were gracious hosts. Their security system really works well and we will definitely re-book at Boothby for a longer stay and the chance to explore Erie.

We had a very relaxing evening at this great inn. Gloria was there to warmly welcome us and make us at home. We have stayed at lots of very nice bed and breakfasts over the years. This would certainly make our top ten!

The Japan room was ideal in every way. Gloria's breakfasts were out of the ordinary and it was an excellent way to start the day. We felt relaxed and refreshed by our four-day stay--in spite of our kids' laughter about "romantic Erie, PA" as a destination! The joke's on them!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boothby Inn. The hosts very extremely helpful. Our room was the Africa room and was decorated accordingly. The rooms are decorated on countries they have visited. A great idea. Breakfast was lovely and they were very accomodating in our diet requests for my husband. I would definately reccommend this inn as a beautiful place to stay.

My wife and I stayed for three nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The service, cleanliness, amenities, opportunity to meet people and the owners was far beyond our expectations. We feel that the experience was above that delivered by more five star hotels. We would highly recommend the Boothby Inn to anyone going to Erie and wanting a quiet, and exquisite lodging experience.

We enjoyed our stay at the Boothby. Located on the old Millionaire's Row, we enjoyed just walking up the street and viewing the amazing architecture. Lots to do in Erie with tons of shopping and some great restaurants. Try Colao's on Plum St. Fantastic food. We did not meet Gloria but Wally was gracious and warm. The inn was beautifully decorated and the guest galley with the free drinks and snacks was above and beyond.

Although our room was a little small, we didn't really need much more space. The home was beautiful, and the inkeepers and others staying there were wonderful. We had to pull ourselves away from the breakfast table to get on the road, or we probably would have stayed longer. We would definitely go there again.

The Boothby Inn in Erie PA was the first time we stayed at a B&B. It was a great experience. The owners were wonderful people and made our stay a great one. The breakfast was so unique and the coffee was great! Wally and Gloria have won us over for future B&B visits!

Our stay at The Boothby Inn LLC was very enjoyable. The food was good, room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the service was excellent.

My husband and I moved to Pittsburgh a few years ago and plan to visit places in Western PA we've never seen before and our first stop was Erie, PA. We were welcomed by Wally Knox, who was extremely hospitable at the Inn. He answered all our questions and helped us learn about Presque Isle and where the best places were to eat. The room was very comfortable and clean. And Gloria's breakfasts were to die for! We REALLY enjoyed our stay and plan to come back each year!

Wally and Gloria were wonderful hosts that made us feel comfortable and welcome. We stayed in the Scotland room and it was a delight. All the breakfasts were delicious. We will definitely return again and again.

This is our 4th time here and certainly not our last. I can't say enough about our stay each and every time. Wally and Gloria do their very best to make your stay a wonderful experience.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Gloria and Wally think of everything. Very impressed with delicious breakfast served outdoors. Only one complaint: our room (Scotland) was in the front of the house and it was too bright due to inn lights kept on all night.

Our July visit was our fifth, and we've now stayed in three of the four rooms. The Boothby is the best of the many B & B's we've visited. Gloria and Wally have updated this fine residence beautifully, reflecting their excellent taste and attention to detail. Breakfasts are superb, and the guests' galley on the bedroom floor is stocked with snacks, local info and magazines, and has microwave, refrig, and early AM coffee. After our really late arrival, it gave us just the right sort of food to spare us crawling back out into the hot night for a restaurant. Ann & Allen Shenk

We stayed in "France" and had a wonderful time! The room was beautiful -- light and airy, very spacious. The bathroom was huge and well-appointed. Location was central to most things in Erie which was nice, but the neighborhood didn't seem to be the best so be sure to take advantage of off-street parking behind the inn. Having snacks and drinks available to guests was wonderful -- like having a mini-bar without the cost! Overall a really neat place, we'd certainly stay again!

We were here for an overnight on a business trip. We were in the Africa Room which is the smallest room (and it's pretty small!) but it was beautifully done, still very comfortable, and immaculately clean. The hosts were extremely friendly and professional and we would certainly return. Asante, Boothby.

We've just returned from our fourth stay at the Boothby Inn in Erie, PA. We make an annual trip to Presque Isle and this is the only place for us. Ideally located, local attractions are within a 5-minute drive (or 15-minute bike ride). Great atmosphere and wonderful accomodations. Looking forward to our 5th stay next year!

The Innkeepers have thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable! From the guests galley to fresh cut flowers in your room to the delicious breakfast, this was such a wonderful place. We stayed one night this time, but we will return....maybe even for another get-away this summer!

I sent my parents here for their 25th wedding anniversary and they had an unbelievable time! They talked about it for weeks and absolutely loved it. I couldn't have asked for a better place for them to enjoy each other!

Our second time at Boothby was as fine as the first and the reason we will come back again when next we visit our cousin who lives in Erie. No Inn anywhere in our traveling history is more complete with services and friendship than Boothby. Excellent in all ways. Love the library and sitting in the wing chair reading one of many books. Also love those chocolate chip cookies!

I was looking for a unique birthday present for my wife Bernadette, and my daughter suggested a bed and breakfast gift certificate. What a great idea! This was our first experience staying at a B&B and we were truly impressed. Everything from the beautiful home and rooms to the wonderful breakfasts and hors d'oeuvres was first class. My husband and I stayed at the Boothby Bed & Breakfast in Erie and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Inn. Wally and Gloria are wonderful, charming and fun hosts who will look after your every need. What impressed me the most was the thought that went into providing customers with all of the little things that would be nice to have in a hotel but are never there - a hand mirror, Q-Tips, cotton swabs, bath robes, snackes, wine, etc. We will definitely go back to the Boothby Inn.

Went on a wim and what a wonderful surprise!! wanted to move in!! Hope to go back soon! If near the area this is a don't pass B&B. The Owners were GREAT & the breakfast was almost as great. Meaning that the Owners were that great!! Stay here!!!

My wife & I decided to take a small trip for the weekend for not only our anniversary but to attend the pasta making class. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable weekends we've had in a very long time. Wally & Gloria are the most pleasant hosts, easy going with a lot of information on anything from food related items to the history of the area. We plan on going back when the weather warms up so we can explore the area and will stay no where else but at the Boothby Inn!

Everything about the Inn was lovely. The only problem occurred because the weather was unseasonably warm and the room got too hot! We'll open the window sooner next time!

I was able to stay in the France room. It was as described, chosen for the Jacuzzi tub and I was very pleased with the room. I thought the service was outstanding. Normally when staying in Erie, I find that most of the hotels are overpriced and are far from satifactory or sanitary. This B&B I had originally thought was priced rather steep, but after staying there I thought was well worth it. I would choose to stay at the Boothby Inn over any of the hotels any day because it was rather welcoming and all the amenities were complimentary. They really go out of there way to make you feel like you are at home.

We have been to the Boothby Inn several times and it is always a treat. This time we brought along my husband's parents and enjoyed a cozy evening in the Library playing cribbage. The room was beautifully decorated for the holidays and Christmas music was playing on the stereo. What a wonderful relaxing evening.

We found the Boothby Inn to be very clean and comfortable. The hosts showed us all of the amenities so we could enjoy our stay. It was especially good to use the downstairs parlor to read our newspaper and to enjoy the wine, furnished with our stay.

We recently enjoyed our 3rd stay at the Boothby Inn in Erie. Wally and Gloria Knox are exceptional hosts who make you feel extremely welcome and invite you to relax in the ambiance of this wonderfully restored, Historic home in the downtown core of Erie. The Inn is idealy located within a short walking/driving distance to many local restaurants and attractions. The rooms are spacious with all ammenities provided to ensure your comfort. Breakfast each morning is truly a gourmet delight, which one might expect in a high class restaurant. With the availability of snacks and drinks, offered at no extra charge throughout your stay, one would have to wonder why would anyone choose to stay at any of the major "chain hotels"! With just 4 guest rooms, "themed" to match the Knox's world travels, this Inn maintains a intimate and inviting feel to it. It is always enjoyable, meeting other guests, especially those who are enjoying their first stay at the Boothby Inn. With such wonderful accomodations, we look forward to our next stay with Wally and Gloria in Erie!

We stayed in the Scotland room. Everything was perfect. The apple croissant french toast for breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Scotland room within this lovely mansion. Very comfortable. Walt and Gloria are most hospitable. Located in charming part of town and within walking distance of some nice restaurants.

What a wonderful stay I had at the Boothby Inn! Beyond being in beautiful Erie, Pennsylvania amid the fall foliage, Wally and Gloria were delightfully hospitable and my room was so comfortable and well kept. Breakfast was delicious and served along with delightful conversation from Wally. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Erie!

There is a stretch of private water on Elk Creek where there is [no exageration World Class Steelhead fishing]. There is a lovely quiet city nearby called Erie that is past it's prime but still showing signs of it's fomer glory. And there is a lovingly restored mansion called Boothby that feels like an inn and your best friends home at the same time. Gloria and Wally treat you like family. The building is both charming for what has been preserved and comfortable for what has been added including modern plumbing and central air. It is centraly located to the best fishing in northwest Pa both in summmer and winter and there cannot be a better place to relax and renew. The Boothby Inn is a rare gem.

Spectacular! Wally and Gloria were so wonderful. The house is amazing and the rooms were incredibly clean and lovely. The added touches (the room with the wine, cheese, snacks, etc) were the icing on the cake. The three course breakfast was fantastic! Exceeded our expectations!

We were in Erie to celebrate our 30th anniversary and Gloria & Wally made it special. The rooms were so quiet, no outside or inside noise. We stayed in the Africa room because it was the only one available, but will definitely return to stay in the Scotland room with the fireplace! So many nice touches like snacks, magazines, c/d player in room with music to choose from, movies. The host & hostess sat and visited with us after breakfast. Superb, Thanks so much Gloria & Wally.

Spent two restful nights in Japan and had two delicious breakfasts in the mornings. Enjoyed the conversations over the breakfast table with the other guests.

Utterly charming and elegant, our only regret is we didn't plan an extended stay! May just be THE reason to get us back to Erie. Wonderful hosts. Stayed in the Africa room but next time we want to visit Scotland. Amazing restoration of this historic property, tastefully decorated and very comfortable.

Our daughter was getting married in Erie so the bride-to-be, my husband and I stayed at the Boothby Inn. It was as close to "home" as I could find and was absolutely wonderful! The breakfasts were superb - - the blueberry stuffed french toast was out of this world - - Gloria is a great cook. Both Gloria and Wally are gracious hosts. We were pampered and well taken care of for our entire 4 night stay - (I didn't want to leave!) The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms are new, modern and great, the food is superb, the hosts are charming - - I don't know why you'd stay anywere else!

It was our first stay at a B&B and it was a memorable one! Not only because the Boothby offers an AMAZING breakfast (made by owner Gloria), comfortable rooms,free snacks,wine,& beer, but because we arrived during a thunderstorm & the street flooded. I had to remove my shoes & socks and literally waded across the street to move our car out of harms way! It was all very exciting and will not be forgotten! We will not forget Gloria's amazing breakfasts either! Wally & Gloria are the best, they have set the bar high for other B&B's! The rooms are cozy and have everything you could want! It's a great place to get away to, it feels like staying with an old friend or family member! We will no longer stay at hotels now that we know places like this exist! Every penny is well spent & well deserved! Thank you so much!

We have stayed at 3 different B&B's in the Erie area. The Boothby is far and away the best value, best service, and best hosts we have experienced. The inn is impeccable!

I travel often on business, and choose b&bs sometimes to get away from the chains. The Boothby could turn me into an addict. The amenities are remarkable...no detail overlooked. The guest galley is a real highlight...complimentary wine, beer, cheese, crackers and other snacks. You don't get that at a Marriott. If every b&b was as remarkable, no business traveler would ever stop at a chain. A real value when you consider the midweek discount.

The atmoshpere is peaceful, and relaxing. We stayed in the Scotland Room which was fantastic. The special little details, such as the hosts' personal framed photos and momentos from their own travels made the room feel authentic! The breakfast was delicious. The Inn is truly a beautifully restored 18th century home on mansion row, and Wally and Gloria are wonderful hosts. No detail was left to chance; Wally even made our dinner reservations. My wife and I do a lot of traveling, and we have stayed in many luxurious accomodations. The Boothby Inn ranks up there with the best, and we are recommending it to family and friends. In addition to being a great value, the Boothby Inn is a wonderful reason to make a first visit or return trip to Erie, PA.

When you arrive in a new place, there is nothing better than feeling like you have arrived at home. The Boothby Inn is just that! Within minutes we were surrounded by the comforts of home and quickly informed on the best places to dine for dinner. The Boothby Inn was full of information to acquaint ourselves about the area with what to see, where to go, and the history.

A pleasant stay at this beautifully restored 19th Century home. Host and hostess were gracious & accommodating. Comfortable bed & lovely decor in our Japan themed room. Snacks, wine, bev. etc available for the taking. A scrumpteous breakfast was elegantly served in the dining room, among vases of fresh flowers. A must try for B&B enthusiasts.

Wonderful location to enjoy the park, the town of Erie, and to visit the many wineries in the area. Professional inn keepers make you feel at home. The beauty of the inn and comfort of all of the rooms make you feel like you do not want to leave!

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Africa room on a recent trip passing through Erie. All I can say is "amazing"! The room was beautiful, the owners (Gloria and Wally) were very friendly, and the breakfast (croissant french toast) was great! I would recommend this to anyone who plans on staying at a b&b and the next time I go to or pass through Erie I hope there is a room available there.

My husband and I stayed at the Boothby for a combonation Anniversary/Vacation and we decided on a Bed & Breakfast for the first time. When we arrived Gloria awaited us with a warm welcome and to show us to our room. The first night we stayed in the Africa room. It was vert clean, decorated very nicely, and comfortable. The second night we had to move to a different room because the Africa was previously booked. A very smooth transition insued to the Scotland Room. It was bigger and had a fireplace. Each morning a full 2-3 course breakfast. In the dinning area the first day, the patio the second. They accomodated my wheat intolorance, (Thank You that's hard to find:) Free snacks down the hall from the rooms. Gloria was very friendly and informative. Met Wally briefly at Breakfast. What a nice couple. You can tell they enjoy life and what they do. It was a great place to "get away from the world" for a few days.

From the first greeting to the final farewell, you immediately feel you are friends of the innkeepers, Gloria and Wally. We returned this year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our place of book was the Scottish Room - complete with bagpipes music. Photos in room were taken in Scotland by Wally. It is a place we love.

Seldom do I visit a B&B that I consider even better on-site than online, but The Boothby Inn is just such an inn. The attention-to-detail, high-style decor, impressive amenities, wonderful hospitality, and gourmet breakfasts combine to make this a very special inn which will be remembered fondly.
