The Inns at Doneckers

With architecture painstakingly restored in the spirit of Early America, each of Doneckers’ country Inns evokes a historical intrigue all its own.

The Guesthouse, where visitors check-in, features cozy chambers to luxury suites with a fireplace and Jacuzzi. Relax in the parlor, exquisitely appointed with fine furniture by Harrod’s of London. The 1777 House is the restored home of an Ephrata Cloister householder.

During your stay, you can enjoy the rest of the vast Doneckers Community, including an upscale fashion store and our Fine Furniture Galleries that houses over 50,000 square feet of the finest furniture in the world. Each evening is your chance to dine at The Restaurant at Doneckers- acclaimed for its innovative American cuisine.

The Inns at Doneckers are located minutes from the famous antiques hub of Adamstown, PA. Doneckers is also centrally located for touring Lancaster’s Amish farmlands, or for a day-trip to Hershey, historic Gettysburg, Philadelphia or Washington, DC.

The Wheatland Suite in the Main Guesthouse is a favorite of many guests. Stately and grand with intricately inlaid wook floors and stained glass windows. This room has a contemporary feel in the furnishings from the Barbara Barry line for Baker furniture. An adjoining sitting room and separate Jacuzzi room add the finishing touches.Melba's Suite at The Homestead has the original quarried limestone fireplace, a bubbling Jacuzzi and this beautiful queen-size four-poster iron bed. Curl up with a good book and relax in the bay window sitting area.
The year was 1777... Jacob Gorgas, a member of the Ephrata Cloister was a clockmaker, but because he was married, he was not permitted to live within the Cloister itself. So over the years, he perfected his craft in a small, shadowy shop adjoining the home he built for his family: the home that has become The 1777 House at Doneckers. While Doneckers has added a few luxuries - Jacuzzi baths, queen-size beds and fireplaces in many rooms - The 1777 House has been restored and maintained with special care to preserve its historical integrity, retaining original stone masonry, tile flooring, and other authentic features. The Peter Miller Suite at the 1777 House is named for the charismatic leader who succeeded Conrad Beissel, the founder of the Ephrata Cloister. This large impressive room features hand-painted armoires and "swag & tassle" stencils. The antique slant-top desk and inkwell stand ready to record the days' events. The backdrop for the Jacuzzi is the home's original stone masonry and a unique fountain.
