We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hertzog Bed and Breakfast. We had not been in that area of Lancaster County but was very pleased with the accommodations and the location. We spent time in Ephrata and Lititz and were not too far from our favorite places like Bird-in-Hand and the outlets. The breakfast was outstanding and I loved having it available in the room for us to enjoy at our leisure. the assortment of pastries was more than we could eat so we brought them home to enjoy. It is definitely a place we plan to revisit maybe during a different season since we were there in the fall. Scott and Kristen were wonderful hosts.

This is a beautiful stone home in a wonderful county setting surrounded by Mennonite and Amish homes. So picturesque and peaceful. The hostess, Kirsten, was more than gracious. She was helpful with everything including directions and history of the home and her family's connection to the home. Her children were delightful! The food, made by locals, was in the room so that we could eat at our convienence. We will go back very soon to visit this great family and wonderful inn.

Although this was our first time at a B&B, the experience was more than we could have asked for. The suite and view were fabulous and freshly baked goodies were out of this world. If you're in the Lancaster area and looking for the ultimate B&B experience, I encourage you to spend a night or two at the Hertzog Homestead.

We just returned from two nights at The Hertzog Homestead B&B. This is the place to "get away from it all" and yet be within minutes of anything that you would want to see in Lancaster county. The place is spacious and beautiful. It is the perfect mix of the old and the modern. Our hosts were knowledgeable and welcoming. The meals were delicious, homemade and on our schedule. The hosts' recommendations for eating and recreation were perfect. I just hope that this review does not make it hard for us to find an open date the next time we head in that direction!

I always stay at the Hertzog B&B when I'm in the Lancaster area on business. Its a relaxing setting, and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. I like that I can have breakfast whenever I want, and the local baked goods are great.
The Jacob Metzler Suite is furnished in rich cherry woods and delightful mahogany. The soothing palette of creams, greens and gold suggest an elegant, peaceful atmosphere. The Queen Sized Spa bed is draped with a rich patterned spread to reflect the light from the deep oversized windows. The original hardwood floors, antique built in German Bible Closet and corner cupboard with original bubble glass remind you of the years gone by. An elegant and modern private bathroom with tub and shower is located in the suite, and is graced with imported Italian tile work. A Continental plus Amish made breakfast includes homemade quiche, fresh fruit and a selection baked goods. The suite includes its own reading and meditation room and an eating area with a tasteful settee and chairs, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker. If you desire privacy and elegance, the Jacob Metzler Suite is for you.
