Highland Farm Bed & Breakfast Inn

Christine was so welcoming and thoughtful - literally, from the moment we called to enquire about booking at a very busy time of the year. She was solicitous (not scolding as some innkeepers are), concerning our late arrival, and helped us find the perfect spot to eat late at night. She was also terrific about our daughter's food allergies and planned her breakfast individually with her each day. The mattresses were the best we have ever encountered and we are still looking to purchase pillows as comfortable for our beds at home. The third floor bathroom was large, the bathrobes soft and the coffee strong. All this, being made to feel at home in Oscar Hammerstein II's home and waking up to a beautiful morning- for what more could one ask? Suffice it to say that our 18-year old told us she didn't want to leave, that should tell you what a wonderful experience staying at Highland Farm Bed & Breakfast was for our family.

Spent a long weekend in Doylestown and Highland Farm was a great find. The rooms are lit with natural light - large and spacious and beautifully decorated w/tasteful simplicity allowing for the serene beauty of the house and grounds to take center stage.Quality soaps, towels and linens are an extra plus. Christine, the hostess, is extremely gracious and engaging allowing each guest to feel that their house is their own home away from home. Convenient stroll or short ride to lovely parks, town access and a short ride to the key tourist attractions in Lambertville and New Hope. Certainly one of the best discoveries I've made in my many trips to the Bucks County area!

A lovely home, well maintained. The King & I room was spectacular. I wish we'd gone when it was warmer so that we might take better advantage of the private porch from that room, and the swimming pool on site.

My daughter stayed there for two nights to prepare for her wedding at the Fonthill Castle. She was treated like a princess. The innkeeper, Christine Cole allowed us to use the whole mansion for pictures and treated us as if we were family. I couldn't thank her enough to show my appreciation for making my daughters wedding day a very special one!! I would highly recommend this b&b to anyone, whether it be for a wedding or just a getaway. Phenomenal place!!!!!

Great old home full of Hammerstein memorabilia and style. Quiet oasis in ever busier Doylestown. Welcoming but not intrusive hostess. Will be our preferred place to stay in the area.

Our stay at Highland Farm Bed and Breakfast was the perfect blend of being away from it all and feeling at home. The history of the house coupled with the gracious hospitality from Christine made our three night stay exceptional.

My wife and I had a delightful two nights at the Highland Farm B&B while visiting the thoroughly enjoyable Doylestown landmarks of Fonthill (quirky but a must see), the Henry Mercer Museum and the Moravian Pottery - all very worthwhile. The South Pacific bedroom (The Hammerstein's own br) was very large and the bed extremely comfortable. The setting is very attractive, the 1840's architecture interesting, the rooms commodious, and the innkeeper Christine helpful and couldn't be nicer. I have already recommended this trip generally and this inn and inn keeper specifically to friends. I highly recommend this B&B and inn keeper. Pete from Boston

We had a wonderful two-day stay at Highland Farm. Our room, as well as the common areas, was lovely, and meticulously kept. Christine, our hostess, was the greatest. She was very friendly and accommodating, and knowledgeable about Oscar Hammerstein and the history of the farm. The breakfasts were delicious.

This is such a charming, relaxing get-a-way. My husband and I stayed again this year and loved it. The owner is lovely and the breakfasts are fantastic. This was Hammerstein's home and both the home and the grounds are beautiful. It is about a mile from downtown Doylestown. Be sure you make reservations in advance at the restaurant Honey for dinner. It's lovely for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegan eaters.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. We've stayed at other B&B's where the breakfast was more elaborate but the breakfast here was quite good. The place was SPOTLESS and the bed was wonderfully comfortable with luxurious sheets. The history was very interesting and I wish I knew how to play the piano as they had a lovely baby grand. We would definitely stay again as we enjoyed the Doylestown area very much. It's such a lovely little town with great restaurants and much to do with touring Fonthill Castle, the Mercer Museum, James Michner Museum (although I thought that was overpriced for such a small museum) and the tile works. I highly recommend going and staying at Highland as it is quite charming and so convenient to everything.

We are from Bucks County and now live in Md. We stayed one night while at my duaghters food tasteing at the Aldi Mansion for her wedding in June. We have booked the B&B for the wedding weekend for the Bride and girls to get ready and for family to stay for the weekend. Loved getting up to hot coffee and tea and no rush to eat and get moving!! I loved that we had a fire going in our room when we arrived and extra logs for later on in the evening. We are lookin forward to our weekend in June!!!

This is our fourth stay at Highland Farm B&B. We have returned twice now with several friends in tow and they all love it as much as we do! Christine is a superb innkeeper and makes everyone feel at home and comfortable. We finally got to stay in the King & I room and loved it!

What a fabulous place. The room was very nice and the inkeeper was very gracious -- even accommodated an unexpectedly late check-in for us. We highly recommend Highland Farm.

I gave an overnight stay at Highland Farm to my parents as a holiday gift and it was a wonderful experience for them! They had a lovely wine and cheese reception upon their arrival and enjoyed chatting with Christine. Dinner in Doylestown was delicious! The South Pacific room was comfortable and they enjoyed having a fire in the evening. Breakfast of fresh fruit and fritatta was fabulous! They especially enjoyed the history of the Farm and ended up talking and singing around the piano with others, much as Hammerstein would have done! They look forward to their next visit! A huge success!

We had a most pleasant stay.

This year was our 25th Anniversary and my year to plan the celebration. Work was kind enough to take me up to the area last year and it was all I needed to prime the pump and plan out our trip. As this is a review only of the B&B, I will spare you the details of our trip in full and only focus on this wonderful home, deep in Buck County. We booked the King and I suite. As it turns out, this is the very room Oscar slept in. The home is decorated very much like Oscar had it as evidence by the photos around the home. There was only one other guest at Hiland Farm when we were there so we nearly had run of the place. Over all my expectations were met. There was nothing really to complain about. My wife and I were having cheese and crackers in the living room, watching South Pacific. It was quite nice to think that we were doing so in the very location where it was authored. The breakfast was stuffed french toast with a fruit bowl. If I had anything to say was lacking, it would have been nice to have a bit hardier breakfast. Truly, however, I didn't ask for such so I know next time. Christine was a great hostess and we were able to chat with her for a few moments and gain a better understanding of the area and home. All in all, I would go back. The home is showing some signs of age, but that is nothing to prevent you froma great stay..

Terrific B and B with wonderful warm touches-- wine and cheese on arrival, mini-tour of premises and a little of the history behind the place. Delicious breakfast made by an innkeeper who clearly takes pride in making your stay top-notch. Fantastic!

We enjoyed our stay at Highland Farm B&B. The owner, Christine, was very welcoming and hospitable. The main living room was beautiful and Christine had a fire lit in the fireplace at night, which was lovely since it was cold outside. The interesting history of the house was a bonus. Our room was fine, but nothing that blew us away. It had a double bed and a separate day bed. We would have preferred a queen or king size bed, but for our date of stay this was the only room available. We found the temperature of the room a little chilly, and since the house is on radiator heat, we had no control over the temperature in our room. The breakfasts Christine made for us were delicious, and we really enjoyed them. Overall we were very happy we chose to stay at Highland Farm Bed & Breakfast.

The house, Oscar Hammerstein's former home, is open and welcoming. Two sitting rooms, full of books and a piano, were available, a big plus. Although the bathroom was down the hall, it was spacious and pleasant. Our room was beautiful--Oscar's study! We were delighted to be in such a significant house, in such a lovely location.

The Oscar Hammerstein home is a very lovely inn. The King & I room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, plush robes, and complementary drinking water and snacks. The wine and cheese upon arrival was a welcome treat after an exhaustive plane ride. The inn keeper, Christine, provided outstanding service. She was very accommodative to the time we wanted breakfast each morning. Breakfast on the veranda our first morning was table service and the food and service was nothing short of excellent. The cherry stuffed french toast was exquisite and seconds were offered and accepted. Our party aet, talked, and lingered on the veranda for almost two hours. I would recommend the Highland Farm B&B Inn to anyone.

We rented this entire venue on the weekend of September 7 for us and our wedding party. I am so happy that we made this choice...Christine was fantastic. The wine/cheese before our rehersal and the breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday were delicous and a very nice touch! Christine was also very flexible and always willing to help. We really couldn't have asked for anything more!!! Thank you very much!

From the moment you enter to the time you leave, the ambionce and the aura of Oscar Hammerstein II are at once relaxing and invigorating. You expect to wake from a sound sleep one evening to the sound of someone playing the music to "The King and I." Frankly, I was hoping that the ghost of Oscar would make an appearance but alas, no such luck. Maybe next time! All this aside, our stay was memorable and our hostess was superb, therefore, we'll be back. Thanks, Richard

I had a great relaxing labor day weekend. Everything that I hoped for was provided. I see myself coming back again

Very cool historic home. There was a tribute to "Sondheim" event the weekend we were guests but we were unable to attend due to a prior commitment. When we got back to the B&B that evening, the performers actually gave us a private show by singing a song for us. It was a real treat! I cannot rate "Dining" as we did not require breakfast with our stay, but I did hear that breakfast is quite good. We will definitely keep this gem in mind the next time we need to stay in the area. Great location and rates.

This is a great place for respite. Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, great public area, and delicious breakfast. Christine was very accommodating and helpful. The one drawback was noisy air conditioning. Would recommend to anyone.

The most beautiful property and the most carefully restored for historical accuracy. Doylestown is perfectly delightful for museums, bookstores, restaurants, and galleries. And coffee, fritatta, and peach muffins in the former music room of Highland Farm is a simply marvelous way to begin the day.

We spent a lovely night in the very spacious South Pacific room. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we appreciated, in this room and throughout the building, that the decor does not strive for the overdone victorian quality of so many B&Bs. Christine is a gracious hostess and served a very tasty breakfast with excellent coffee. Our daughter and granddaughter came over, and we enjoyed a walk in Chapman Park, just around the corner. The history of the house, home of Oscar Hammerstein II, added a note of interest to our stay, and Christine is an abundant reference about the farm's past. This was a pleasing discovery -- our daughter, who lives about a mile from the Inn in Doylestown, did not know about it. The place wears its history in a gracious but not flashy way. It's a comfy place to be, and I would have loved to spend more time with a cup of coffee in a rocker on the porch.

Sophisticated and relaxing at the same time. I was taken there on a business trip and I came back while traveling with my kids on a "single dad" holiday only one week later. It worked out beautifully in both cases. You get all you expect and more. One regret .. we could have stayed more!

We only stayed one night at Highland Farm, pool was nice & relaxing. We were surprised that we did not have a TV in our room. We were in the South Pacifice room, very large and tastefully decorated.

I was very impressed with the bedding, bathroom fixtures and overall decor of this B&B - it was very charming, comfortable and fresh (not old and musty). The service was amazing, very attentive and accommodating to our needs, the innkeeper even brought over some toys from her house for my children. The breakfast and wine and cheese reception were also over the top. I could not have had a better experience... sitting on the porch, playing in the yard and the pool with the kids and just taking in the fresh air... all around our family of four was very happy and enjoyed our time together away from our busy day to day lives. I highly recommend!

The inn is lovely and Christine is gracious and very warm. My only warning is if you arrive and the temperature is in the 90's, please request the air conditioner to be turned on in your room at least 4 hours prior to your arrival. Our third floor room did not cool down enough to sleep until 3 am. Otherwise, a real getaway treat!!

Christine understands, unlike so many of her peers, that being a good hostess is as much actively hosting as getting out of the way and letting your guests enjoy. Christine was charming, attentive, and then - at all the right times - out of sight, to let us enjoy. We'll be back!

This was a very pleasant stay. I felt like I was visiting my grandmother, sleeping up two flights of stairs in an old house with squeaky wood floors. It was far cleaner than a hotel room, just pristine. The landlady is a very practised and polished hostess. Wine and cheese,and pleasant breakfast.The bed was very comfortable. About a mile walk (or drive) to town But you should realize you will be climbing stairs, there will not be a TV in your room, the floors can be very noisy, and there is little sound attenuation from room to room. The rooms are old and likely to be somewhat drafty in winter, though the weather was very pleasant when I was there. It is also a little hard to spot, I would not want to try to find it for the first time at night. Traffic on the road out front is pretty regular, so it is not as quiet as you would want a country B&B to be. So the wraparound porch with the rocking chairs is comfortable with a pleasant view, but pretty regular hum of traffic. The bedroom on the front also had the traffic noise, but I expect the bedrooms in back had much less. The noise did not bother me, however, and I had a great stay.

I recently stayed during a temporary re-lo for my company. It is conveniently located 30 minutes from Merck's headquarters and is a fabulous place to stay. The surroundings are perfectly restored, the Innkeeper is kind, thoughtful and delightful and you simply couldn't ask for more in such a great location with this much history. Doylestown has lots of small shops and restaurants that I wish I could have stayed longer to visit. It was situated in a very quiet area, the sheets were super soft, the bed was very comfortable and I woke up refreshed, energized and ready to take on a long work day. I thought I was at a 5 star resort! I highly recommend, for business or leisure.

The home was even more beautiful than the picutures and was a great retreat. As well, the close proximity to the main part of Doylestown gave us the opportunity to walk into town for a tasty dinner at Honey. Christine accommodated our needs perfectly and was a gracious host. We would definitely come back!

The Highland Farm Bed & Breakfast is a delightful place--beautiful surroundings filled with history as it was the home of Oscar Hammerstein II and where he penned the lyrics for many iconic American musicals partnering with Jerome Kern and Richard Rogers. Charming B&B near downtown Doyleston PA. We visit the Doyleston area to see family and traditionaly stayed in a hotel. Wanting to try something different, we searched for loval B&B. We are glad we found the Highland Farm. It is a place for all ages. I traveled solo with a one year old. They were welcoming and provided everything we needed to make our trip easier. In addition, they let us burrow items (i.e. high chair) during the day when I visited my family. The rooms were spotless the meals terrific and the home charming. We look forward to visiting again.

I traveled to Doylestown on business and when I could not find a suitable hotel within a short distance to our office, I decided to stay at Highland Farms. I am so happy I did! Highland was peaceful, a nice break from the city. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful and the inn keeper was warm, welcoming and cooked up delicious breakfasts. I absolutly LOVED this B&B. I had never stayed at a B&B before and I was on a solo road trip so I was a little nervous. But Christine, the inn keeper, was AMAZING!! She was so sweet and pleasant. The house was beautiful; the wine and cheese reception was exactly what I needed and the homemade stuffed french toast breakfast was OUTSTANDING!!! Christine was very accomodating and helpful. She was there when I needed her to be and gave me solitude when I needed it. My room, the Carousel, was bright, airy and very clean, as was the attached bathroom. I recently stayed here as a commitment to myself for a long overdue silent sabbatical. I had never stayed at a B&B before and didn't know what to expect. Just from this one experience, I can tell you I would definitely stay here again. Chris, the Innkeeper was more than accommodating for my unusual stay requests. She not only went out of her way to meet them, she made me feel like I was taken care of while away from home. The room was more than enough space, everything was spotless and the bed and pillows were super comfy. It was definitely an amazing experience.

My fiance and I stayed at this wonderful B&B because we are involved with theatre and are fascinated with the B&B's history. The inn keeper, Christine, has done an incredible job at restoring the home. Her love and care really show. It is, of course, an old home so old wood windows and old locks are to be expected. But Christine has gone first class with all the details. Fine sheets, thick towels, beautiful decor. And her breakfasts are amazing! Fresh fruit followed by a hot breakfast dish. And plenty of strong coffee (a must-have for me). Christine was so accommodating. She entertained us with the home's history and was happy to answer all of our questions. She let us laze around the main room, reading the many various books she has on Hammerstein, without bothering us if she thought we wanted some down time. She was also right there any time we needed her. Christine was the perfect host During our stay we learned that Christine is planning to restore the old barn as well. She has big plans that include creating a small active theatre in the barn. What a noble and fantastic undertaking! I think the Hammersteins would be proud. The B&B is also just minutes from the Fonthill Museum, The working tile works museum, and the Mercer Museum. We had a great time visiting all three and highly recommend a visit. Fontill is Henry Mercer's home and is built to resemble a castle. It is very unique and fascinating. The tile works is equally interesting and located at the bottom of the hill from Fonthill. Highland Farm B&B is in walking distance from both (just about one mile). Combine the B&B's own history with its delightful host and its perfect location... It is a sure bet that we will return.

Very cordial host. We were most comfortable. The inn has done an excellent job in surrounding you in the history of Oscar Hammerstein, and preserving his Bucks County home. One comment - maybe good, maybe not good - no TV's in the guest rooms.

This is a lovely B&B with a gracious hostess. Wanting 2 beds, we stayed in a third floor room. It's an old house so the stairs and the floors creak. We were not disturbed but were concerned about disturbing others. This is not a major problem but one to be aware of.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay locally, I am pregnant and did not want to travel far. Highland Farm Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place..we felt right at home. We loved reading by the fire at night. The room was beautiful and very clean, the bathroom was immaculate and very up to date. Breakfast was delicious...we will definitely return for an overnight stay!!!

Oh what a beautiful visit. The Innkeeper, Christine Cole, was extremely warm, friendly, and quite knowledgeable about the history of the building and Oscar Hammerstein II. The wine and cheese, the breakfast, and other guests were each memorable. The Inn's website included suggestions of places of interest in the Doylestown area and was quite helpful; we really relished James Michner's museum, desk, and memobelia. Oh what a beautiful few days.

We had a delightful stay at this Bed & Breakfast. Owner Christine Cole was a pleasure to meet, and her knowledge of the history of the farm and local area was very helpful. Oscar Hammerstein owned this house for 20 years, and wrote many of his most famous pieces while here - but you don't need to be music fan to enjoy the beautiful home, countryside, and the town of Doylestown!

We loved this setting. The home is really charming, the decor is simple and classic, the hostess pleasant yet professional. Our five year-old daughter was welcome - which means so much on so many levels - and she enjoyed it, as well! Bucks County is a hidden gem; we're do glad we got to spend the time.

I am very happy to rate my stay at Highland Farm Bed and Breakfast Inn. Everything was perfect--Christine was an excellent hostess, not in our way at all, but friendly, accommodating, and a wealth of knowledge about the Hammersteins, the home, and the Doylestown area. We loved how our room was decorated and all the rooms were VERY spacious. The whole home couldn't have been any cleaner, and the breakfast was delicious. FRESH fruit, and healthy pancakes. Christine even had a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers out for us so that we would have an afternoon snack. So lovely and so peaceful.

A delightful nook away from the hustle and bustle that has become Bucks County/Doylestown. Quiet, secluded, beautiful grounds. An exceedingly well kept home, clean, clean, clean. Breakfasts were delicious, something new everyday and Christine was delightfully accommodating with "seconds" and with our food allergies. Walk to town, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. But stay in the "country"

Great if a group of you book all the rooms, which is what a group of us did. The in-ground pool is a plus. The "Oklahoma Suite" is really not a suite, as they are just rooms that lead off into the common hallway and the rooms were the least spacious or decorated and in need of repair - the wall paint was peeling from water damage, the couples that got those rooms were disappointed, as the rate is the same for these rooms as compared to the other rooms, which are better appointed and much better decorated. The King and I room also has a bathroom in the hall, which could be awkward when sharing the place with strangers. Great Antique shopping in nearby town: New Hope, if that's what you are into. The owner made breakfast every morning, there were really well prepared and served and she was most conscientious to please everyone. Overall it was a very nice getaway.

Such a beautiful, relaxing place! Excellent taste in every detail, and a very friendly innkeeper, books, dvds with musicals, good breakfast. It was like coming home to the nicest of sisters. The only drawback is that one hears the steps of the other guests on the common wooden stairs, and cars on a busy nearby road.

We stayed at the Highland Farm Bed and Breakfast for our July 23, 2011 wedding night. The innkeeper greeted us at the door with a warm smile and showed us around the house. She then fixed a beautiful spread of cheese, crackers, and wine. We stayed in the King and I suite which was absolutely lovely! Breakfast was delicious. The house and the grounds are charming and filled with history. It is a must stay for any bed and breakfast lover, musical theater lover, or history lover! We cannot wait to go back and stay for longer!

We rented out all the rooms at Highland Farm because my brother was getting married nearby. Christine, the proprietor, couldn't have been more accommodating of our schedule for the wedding (and, ahem, the morning after) and the inn is just lovely, especially for musical theater buffs, for whom there are books and memorabilia everywhere. The food was fantastic, the service top notch and the rooms were lovely and comfortable. It was especially nice that she had sodas and water in a fridge accessible to guests (the wedding was outside on a hot & humid evening, so we returned thirsty). I wish we'd had more time to explore the grounds and use the pool, so I hope to return sometime when I'm not on a tight schedule. We highly recommend this B&B!

We were looking for a peaceful place to stay in Doylestown and this historic home of the Hammersteins fit the bill perfectly. You feel like you've stepped back in time when you are on the property, which is a 5 minute drive from the heart of town. The common areas on the ground floor are charming, with fireplaces in every room and a grand piano in the main living area. The bedrooms are clean and spacious, with wonderfully comfortable beds. You do get a little highway noise if you are at the front of the house due to Rte. 202, but nothing to disturb sleep or relaxation. Christine provides fantastic hospitality - there when you need her or want to talk, and giving you privacy in just the right amounts. Her breakfasts are by far the best we've had when staying at a B&B... everything really fresh and delicious. We intend to come back again, and highly recommend staying here when in the Doylestown/New Hope area.

Spent a delightful Father's Day Weekend in this charming old home. Innkeeper Chris was a great hostess and the meals were outstanding.

Everything about Highland Farm is outstanding. Rooms, breakfast, public spaces. I'd like to return in summer to enjoy the pool and tennis court. I stayed up until midnight in the serene, beautiful living room to read the biography of Oscar Hammerstein and learned about the process of developing and perfecting Broadway musicals. Nearby Doylestown is full of delightful restaurants with outdoor seating in good weather.

The innkeeper was very friendly and accomodating and took the time to share with us the history of the home. Our room was huge and beautiful. And breakfast was delicious!

My daughters and I made our home base at Highland Farms during our stay in Bucks County and were ever so pleased with the property and our wonderful hostess Christine - Close to everything yet private and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Really felt like a personal guest of the lovely innkeeper, Christine Cole. House is simply, yet beautifully decorated with lovely clean bathrooms. The charm of Oscar Hammerstein's summer home shines through. Grand piano and lots of music allowed fun sing-a-longs of Broadway tunes. A great stay so close to historic Doylestown.

Christine welcomed us with wine and cheese, gave great advice on area restaurants, and made us feel at home. She prepared a perfect breakfast the following morning.

Christine, the innkeeper is one of the keys to a great stay. She has everything impeccably clean and fresh. Nicely decorated and this 1840 home is in amazing shape. She was a fantastic host- I felt like I was staying at a friend's home. Could not recommend enough.

Our weekend at Highland Farm was amazing, full stop. Oh, all the standard B & B things were present and accounted for - amazing breakfasts, unbelievably soft sheets (actually, we've never felt smoother!), a terrific common room featuring books and movies aplenty, gorgeous grounds and views - but two things elevated it into "magic" territory. Those would be Christine Cole (a phenomenal host and innkeeper, managing to achieve the perfect balance between being solicitous and being overly "in-your-face.") She seemed like our next-door neighbor - but her apparently effortless skill became evident when she rattled off dinner recommendations and immediately interpreted what was most important to us into ideal photo op suggestions. The other thing, of course, is the history of the place. For Broadway buffs. this is an absolute must - to stay in the same house where Hammerstein wrote some of the most memorable and iconic shows in American theater! Every corner of the house holds a story - and the many books that can be found in the bedrooms and the common area just add to that knowledge. In short, nothing feels "new" in this house - yet everything works perfectly (even the flat panel TV and the Keurig coffee maker!). The magic of what was created there still lingers. And thanks to the wonderful Christine, we can experience it. We can't recommend it highly enough. Do yourself a favor and go to Highland Farm!

Christine does a wonderful job caring for her guests. Rooms are beautiful and breakfast was above and beyond! Overall, better than any other B&B we've experienced.

We were the only ones staying at the inn 2 days before Christmas and we were treated royally. Christine was the perfect hostess and made us feel so welcome. The food was fabulous!

Took my wife here on an overnight for her birthday. Amazingly, we had the entire place to ourselves, which we were told was very unusual, but it was great. Christine, the owner/innkeeper was a delight! A totally romantic getaway, and lot's to do in the town of Doylestown. Very worthy!

This was our 2nd holiday at the Highland Farm. Cozy large rooms, beautiful bedding, warm gracious innkeeper, delightful breakfasts, at the home of the late Oscar Hammerstein. Books and photos, piano and sheet music. What a treat!

The entire experience was wonderful! The South Pacific room was extremely comfortable and cozy with its fireplace and comfy bed. The breakfasts were delicious! The Sound of Music room with its piano and fireplace was a great place to spend a very relaxing evening. Lots of great shops and restaurants nearby. Great hospitality!

I only stay in very nice hotels, and am always wary of B&Bs. Highland Farm is a beautiful old home with great history on an amazing piece of property. I appreciated the perfect service and having my kids there was great with the Carousel room (3 beds, plenty of room and a big clean bathroom.) There is a park right down the street which was great. The food was also amazing...Christine could not have been a better host! We cannot wait to go back.

My mother and I stayed one night in the Carousel room at the Inn and had a wonderful time. The home is lovely, quiet, charming, full of history of Oscar Hammerstein and a perfect place to stay while touring Doylestown (less than a mile from 'downtown'). I love historical properties and this 1833 home has been lovingly restored. Gorgeous. Christine is a gracious, friendly host who made our tasty breakfast of fresh fruit, Eggs Benedict and Morning Glory muffins. The bed was so comfortable and I appreciated the decadent multi-TC sheets and fluffy pillow. The room was painted a light blue and trimmed with cream. The decor complimented the colors - crisp and refreshing. Immaculate. Can't wait to return.

We stayed in this inn but for a brief evening in the South Pacific suite and had the most wonderful time. The innkeeper is incredibly gracious and a master of the lost art of hospitality. We would recommend Highland Farm most highly to anyone who wants a five star experience in an exquisitely well-kept and historic inn.
