The Fairville Inn is in the heart of the Brandywine Valley between Winterthur Museum and Longwood Gardens, and only minutes from the business district in Wilmington, Delaware. The Hagley, Brandywine River (Wyeth and Pyle collections), and Nemours Museums are also within minutes. Our 13 rooms and 2 suites are located in three buildings: the Main House (built in the early-mid 1800s), the Carriage House, and the Springhouse. Rooms begin at $175 per night (plus applicable taxes), which includes a full breakfast and afternoon tea. All rooms have a private bath, satellite TV, wireless internet, telephone, and individual heating and air-conditioning. Many rooms have a fireplace (seasonal) and most have a private deck/porch. All rooms have either a king- or queen-sized bed, some under a romantic canopy (one room has twin beds, which can be made into a king). Fine dining nearby. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.

The B&B is located in an convenient location outside Philadelphia. Our room in the Carriage House was nicely decorated and quiet. It has a veranda to a very nice garden. When we arrived the weather was a bit chilly, but there was a fireplace in the room. The Innkeepers gave us good ideas for places to visit, e. g. the Longwood Garden nearby. That was really a beautiful garden worth to see. For breakfast you get everything you need.

We stayed at the Fairville Inn last week for three nights. We were there a year ago and liked it so much we returned. Just as good the second time. The room was very clean and well appoointed. We had a small porch to sit on. Afternoon tea was a very nice feature and breakfast we tasty and had great eye appeal. The location for Brandywine activities and restaurants can't be beat. Highly reccomended. I should mention that the innkeepers were most anxious to help with dining reservations and travel directions. Like having your own concierge.

Overall our stay was wonderful. We were greeted by our hosts and they proved to be very accomodating and pleasant. Laura was very informative regarding the restaurants and local attractions; printing off information and making reservations for us. We stayed in Springhouse with 3 other couples which was nice because we had the entire dwelling to ourselves. They are in bad need of renovation which should include updating the TVs but overall the bed was comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace. There was a problem with plumbing in Springhouse that was not pleasant and when brought to Rick and Laura's attention, they took care of the problems and compensated us for the inconvenience.

Emailed the B&B a few questions before booking and got a quick response (within hours), which was nice. Arrived around 6pm, after visiting area attractions. They do an afternoon cheese and tea, which we missed, but the hostess was kind enough to set the cheese out again for us and make us some tea, which we enjoyed in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Upon check in, they have you sign up for a time slot in which to attend breakfast in the morning. Having arrived later than everyone else, all the later slots were taken, which meant getting up way earlier than we'd have liked in order to have the breakfast. The breakfast was scrambled eggs with veggies, but seemed more like a quiche, but it was good. Since it was last minute and we weren't going to be spending a lot of time there, we opted for the least expensive room. Room was in the main house, 2nd floor, back corner, so it was quiet and cozy. I am not a fan of carpeting, and feel that in general the room and its bathroom could use a little updating. Unless we are 100% in love a place, we rarely return, but instead try out other places in the area next time. If we ever did book here again, we'd prob spring for the suite or cottage rooms. Overall, pleased with the location and stay for the price.

We appreciated the lovely antiques and paintings decorating the living and dining area. We plan to make trips to this region often now and plan to stay at your Inn.

We were looking for a weekend away to relax. Stayed one night and it was lovely. For me, its the little details that count and these hosts did that- soft towels in the bathroom, nice-size bedrooms (bath was small but it's an old home), lovely tea in the afternoon and great breakfast. Hosts made sure we were set for dinner reservations and at breakfast, gave us suggestions of where to go.

We are looking forward to going back in the near future. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our host, hostess and resident dog.

Two of my cousins and I get together in different parts of the country once a year for a catch-up visit. Fairville Inn is the nicest place we have stayed. Our beautifully decorated suite in the Carriage House was clean and quiet with a lovely view from its small balcony. I took an early morning walk before breakfast around the unexpectedly spacious grounds, discovering two charming lawn chairs and a stone bench beneath large trees overlooking a lovely pond where deer were grazing in the morning light. Such a special place! We will certainly be coming back again.

We were very impressed with the staff and quality of the Fairville Inn. Very nice people, and beautiful rooms! Don't miss Ozzie the blue eyed dog. What a sweetie! Thanks to all those that made our visit so special! :-) Mike Sutton

This was our second stay at the Fairville Inn. It was chilly each morning this stay, but the Innkeepers had a wonderful fire burning each evening and morning in the living room just outside of our room. The breakfasts were exceptional, and we were given a choice of offerings! The bed and surroundings were very comfortable. I felt right at home because they had the same Williamsburg coverlet and soft pillows we enjoy in Ohio. Fresh flowers everywhere! Afternoon tea a real plus!
