About

Located on Front Street by the Lake in Boiling Springs is this circa 1869 Victorian Home, which is one of the first homes in Boiling Springs. The village is laced with history dating back to the 1700's. The iron industry was the main reason for its growth. The Carlisle Iron Works, one of the earliest blast furnaces in Pennsylvania was located near the springs. The remains of the original blast furnace still stands in the public park. The village has many handsome homes, some fronting on the lake. In 1984, Boiling Springs was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The area is alive with activities. The lake and the crystal clear Yellow Breeches creek are well stocked and are considered some of the best trout fishing areas in the country. The nearby Yellow Breeches Fly Shop handles fishing gear, locally tied flys, clothing and gifts as well as dispensing experienced tips for the novice or practiced fisherman. The famous Allenberry Resort and Playhouse"on the Yellow Breeches" is just minutes away for an evening of fine dining and entertainment. Boiling Springs is located within one-half hour's drive to Gettysburg, one hour's drive to Hershey, and approximately 11/2 hours from the Pennsylvania Dutch Country in Lancaster County. It is truly a beautiful spot for a pleasant visit. The ducks are famous for nesting in local yards and marching their hatch to the lake in the Spring. Caution "Duck Crossing" signs are posted throughout the village. Visit us and enjoy the quiet historic village by the lake.

b&b

4.2 on August 06, 2016

The owner of this b&b was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. However, we were confined to our room. The house was that of a museum, with her . treasure on dispkay. There was now where to sit and relax in common areas. We feel one of the benefits of staying in a b&b is to not confined to one room.

Gelinas Manor in the fall

really enjoyed my short overnight stay at Gelinas manor. Breakfast was wonderful and the view across the street was spectacular with the changing colors on the trees and the ducks, geese and swans swimming in the lake.

Very nice B&B

Located within easy walking distance of just about everything in Boiling Springs, a few feet from very pretty Children's Lake. The room was comfortable, filled with books in case one is out of reading material. The plentiful bowls of hard candy and mints throughout, pretty brick lined back yard and 24/7 porch with coffee machine and a delicious breakfast made our stay very pleasant. Our hostess was friendly and helpful with dinner and sight seeing suggestions. Our only suggestion is probably in the "can't please everyone" category: our hostess could have been a bit less chatty at breakfast - we did not get to converse with the other guests as much as we would have liked. We would gladly return and recommend Gelinas to others.

A Pleasant Stay

A great place to stay and enjoy the quiet. The Boiling Springs Tavern a few yards away is a great place for dinner. Kitty is a great hostess!

Wonderful Reststop

4.2 on June 04, 2015

Stayed the night on our way through PA. Kitty was a more than pleasant hostess, the breakfast was tremendous. She gives you a specific time to eat because the food is timed to the minute, and every bite is scrumptous. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The decor is an eclectic variety of victorian and country pieces. We visit Boiling Springs at least annually and will make this inn part of our regular itinerary in the future.

Victorian Room

My husband and I stayed in the Victorian Room for one night. We were in town for the Carlisle Spring Event. The room was clean and dust-free (a relief as I have a severe dust allergy). The breakfast was good, as was the company. We walked to the Tavern for dinner. My only 'complaint' was that mattress was quite soft / worn, but I slept well regardless.

Recommending it to others!

The location, the food and the charm of this B&B was further enhanced by the charming hostess. Definitely plan to return.

Quiet, interesting, Yummy

We had a nice experience at this B&B. Mrs. G was very kind and serves a wonderful breakfast. The house is very old and decorated Victorian, but we liked it and loved learning about it from the owner. I would have liked a bigger, less crowded room, but for our purposes, it was fine. i would definitely recommend Gelinas as a quiet, alternative place to stay for people like me who are used to corporate/business-type hotels.
