I just wanted to say that my stay at the Amethyst Inn was terrific! Taylor was the man who handled my reservation, and also greeted me when I arrived. He went over every detail about my stay at the Inn and made sure that my stay would go without a hitch. He is one great guy and very professional. The house was beautiful and clean, as well as the room itself. The breakfast in the morning was a big surprise. It was a delicious and filling meal. I felt I was in a 5 restaurant and very Victorian. I wish I could have spent another evening at this beautiful B&B. Ted Brown/Hatboro, PA

We recently stayed at The Amethyst Inn for a long weekend getaway. The Inn is an absolutely beautiful Victorian inn. It turned out to be a truly memorable weekend...complete with a proposal! The Inn is beautifully decorated and our room (The Topaz Room) was cozy and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and delicious...we were actually so full after breakfast each day that we didn't have to eat again till dinner! The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful...providing us with restaurant suggestions, as well as, suggestions for sights to see while we were in the area. (We also loved hearing the history of how they bought and renovated the Inn.) Each day a little gift was left on our bed for us which was so sweet. They also had cookies and an assortment of teas and coffees for us, in the dining room, that we could help ourselves to at any time. We would highly recommend The Amethyst Inn for your weekend getaway. It is very centrally located and is within very easy driving distance to many Lancaster and Berks County sites.

The staff was exceptionally friendly, warm and welcoming. The breakfast was both pleasing to the eye and the palate! The price was reasonable and the cleanliness as was as to be expected. The accessibility was poor from the very narrow entrance (barely accommodated a Honda CRV) to the need for re-laying of the bricks in the sidewalk (two are real trippers) to the multitude of steps that proved a challenge even though we are considered in good physical shape. The bed slanted in an odd upward position which was only a plus in terms of getting one closer to the ceiling fan. Although it was pleasantly warm outside, the room was unbearably hot calling for the need to run the air conditioner (extremely noisy) as well as the ceiling fan simultaneously. There is absolutely no flexibility with the time of breakfast. We were informed it is served at 8:30 and those who are not present are assumed to be not indulging in the first meal of the day. We were offered a box breakfast to take with us as the main attractions of the area (antique flea markets) are open for business at 7:30AM, some sooner. The plus of the stay was the Jacuzzi which operated nicely and proved a relaxing treat after an exhausting day of antiquing. We would not stay at this residence again, just too many negatives.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Receiving feedback from our guests is very important to us. We strive to give our guests the best experience possible, and we are saddened to hear that you were not happy with the feather-bed topping the Serta’s Perfect Sleeper mattress. If there are ever any issues with your experience while staying with us, we urge you to bring it to our attention immediately so that we can promptly make it right. This summer has been very hot and humid, and it can be difficult to keep the rooms a comfortable temperature without having the air conditioner running. We would have been happy to have offered you different accommodations that may have better suited your needs, both with the temperature and the style of bed. We would also like to thank you for bringing to our attention the 2 bricks that needed adjusted on our sidewalk. We took care of the issue immediately, as our guests safety is a major concern to us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your breakfasts. Again, we would like to thank you for providing us with feedback so that we can always give the best experience possible for our guests

This is one of the best, if not the best, bed and breakfasts I've stayed at. The room, the house, the breakfast ---- all first class. But it is the staff that wins the prize --------- not just one, but nearly everyone that works there has an awesome personality and will bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. Cannot speak highly enough and planning our return.
Thank you so much for the kind words and high praises! We very much appreciate them. It was our sincere honor to host your stay. Please come back to see us very soon...

Our first visit was in February, 2014. Unfortunately, due to an impending blizzard, we had to leave a day early. Our visit, this time, was in April and the climate was much improved. Not only were we able to enjoy 2 amazing breakfasts prepared by Chef Taylor, but our room, the Garnet Room was adorable, comfy and had a lovely balcony to relax on and enjoy. If you want a wonderful B&B experience, the Amethyst Inn is the one for you! :)
So happy there was better weather for you this time around. I would have to agree with you the the Garnet Room, with a private balcony and 2 person whirlpool tub, is definitely a guest favorite. Looking forward to your next visit!
