strasburg village inn

3.6 on August 15, 2016

Had a wonderful time at the Inn on Thursday, Aug. 11. The manager of the Inn was very nice. The cleanliness question was the shower curtain had stains on it and the ceiling had some water stains. But overall it was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to my friends.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your review. By you mentioning water stains on the ceiling, I know immediately which guest room you stayed in. The wet, soggy spring here caused that staining from the attic, and because that room is so popular during nice weather, it's impossible to remove it from inventory for the week or so it would take us to remove the furniture and get the ceiling properly painted, then return the furnishings, etc. That item is on our maintenance list for when the colder weather comes in and people no longer care about the amenity that room offers. I do apologize for the condition of the shower curtain, however, and will bring that to housekeeping's attention immediately so that it can be cleaned or replaced. I'm sorry that was any kind of issue during your stay. I hope you can overlook these small inconveniences and will visit us again.

Highly Recommended!

From arrival to departure the staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable throughout your stay. Whatever your needs or desires are, they will do their best to meet them. I would have given outstanding for service but it would not allow me to click on that choice. We had a traditional room and it was sufficient for our needs. My only comments are not really complaints but just suggestions which would improve the accommodations: invest in new shower heads and replace the old stained carpets. Beyond that I wouldn't change a thing. The fudge and coffee available in the sitting room is a nice touch and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful. If you are looking for a charming, quiet location away from the chaos of Lincoln Highway, yet just minutes from there, Sight and Sounds Theatre, Bird in Hand, Intercourse, Paradise, this is a great choice. It was the most enjoyable time away I have had in a long time. And don't miss the yummy ice cream handmade on site!

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate you taking the time to write a review and for your many kind words. We are working with the owner to make some obvious renovations. Since new shower heads all come with low-flow water pressure, we're not apt to change any until the ones we have become non-working. We know that a lack of water/water pressure is a common complaint at many hotels, and we are proud to know we provide more than an adequate stream of water in our showers. We hope that new carpeting is in our near future, and we hope you will come back and visit us again!

Visit to the Strasburg Village Inn

3.0 on August 08, 2016

Our visit to the Strasburg area was relaxing. We stayed at the Strasburg Village Inn because it was near the Sight and Sound Theatre. The host gave us instructions then we were on our own. If you want a place where you can visit and ask questions about the area, you'll probably want to go elsewhere. The accommodations were satisfactory but the rooms were too modern for the age of the building. I'd prefer renovations as apposed to modernizing.

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate the time you took to share a review about your stay at our Inn. I'm sorry that you felt the accommodations were "too modern", as the owners have worked hard to find pieces that are authentic to the Victorian era for each room. I'm also sorry I wasn't always available to provide you personalized information on what to see and do in the area; though I am on property many, many hours in a week, sometimes a demand will take me off property or to another section of the property. We hope our convenience to Sight & Sound and the relaxation you experienced while here will be invitation enough to visit us again.

Cozy and welcoming

We loved our time at the Inn. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was wonderful and very welcoming.

Innkeeper Response

Nice place to stay

4.0 on August 07, 2016

The Strasburg Inn was a very nice B&B. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again but would not get a room facing Main Street...the traffic noise was a bit too much.

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate your time reviewing your recent stay with us. Unfortunately, we can't control the traffic noise, but 5 of our rooms do NOT face the street, so there are quieter options available for your next visit. And we do look forward to having you return!

Great B and B

Check in and check out was easy. Our room was just as it was described to be. The staff was very friendly and helpful including a great recommendation for an Italian restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind words! We love what we do here, and it's always awesome to hear that what we love to do comes across to our guests. I'm glad you took a chance on a "non-chain" Italian dining experience and it lived up to my praise of it. Please come back and visit us again!

Weekend Getaway

4.6 on July 28, 2016

We absolutely loved our stay here. The innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating. We were very comfortable in our room, and it was very clean. The only thing we did not like was that breakfast was only an hour each morning, but the ones we had were tasty and filling. A bonus is that it is attached to a creamery and candy store! We will definitely be staying here again when we are in the area.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We couldn't agree more that being attached to the Strasburg Country Store & Creamery has its perks! While our breakfast may only be available for service for an hour, it is fresh and cooked to order, and we tell our guests that if you come to breakfast one MINUTE before that hour is up, we'll still make you a fresh, hot entrée. We're glad to know you'll choose us again for your future visits to the area!

good old small town america!

4.0 on July 24, 2016

Strasburg Village Inn offers the charm of small town America. It is a lovely house and a lovely, old style shop with excellent ice cream and other good things. We spend there three nights and it was absolutely charming.

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate your review and kind words. Strasburg sells itself as "a step back to a simpler time" and both the Inn and the Creamery try to instill that ambiance to our guests and customers. We're glad you enjoyed that "charm".

Birthday Present

3.6 on July 21, 2016

The room was very clean and well set up but due to it being a very old building the floors were all slightly tilted and the bathroom needed some TLC. The people were very nice and attentive and the breakfast at the store next door was very nice and totally filling. The balcony that went with the room we rented was very nice place to sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy the quiet.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of your stay with us. Due to the age of the building, as well as the many renovations that have occurred since it was built around 1788, we do know we have little quirks with our rooms, but we think it adds to the charm of the Victorian era, and we try to give our guests all of the modern-day conveniences while staying true to the original time period. We pride ourselves on providing clean, comfortable lodging and attentiveness to our guests, and it sounds like we succeeded in those areas. We're glad you got to enjoy your balcony off your room!

Amazing!

Innkeeper Response
