The best spot for relaxing just might be in the Library / Gentlesman's Drawing Room and the Main Parlor. This area provides plenty of room to spread out for playing games, catching up on the news (if you feel you must) or reading a good book. If you didn't bring one with you feel free to browse through our collection. Board games and cards are also usually available to borrow.Breakfast is served in the formal Dining Room at Chestnut Hall. House specialties include Frazzled Eggs, Belgian Waffles, Breakfast Pie, Eggs Benedict and occasionally in the afternoon home made Sweet Potato Biscuits can be found in the living room.
The Lady's Parlor offers a warm feeling of old time charm. Keeping with the original scheme of the house this room remains the Lady's Parlor and Music Room with a restored Victrola and an Estey Pump Organ from Brattleboro Vermont. The gardens at Chestnut Hall have something to offer year around.
Spend some time just sitting on the front porch and enjoying the day.Experience the ambience of the Cherry Room with its queen poster bed. A large bay window with cushioned window seat looks onto a Red Bud tree that shows off its beautiful red blossoms each spring. Being centrally located on the west side of the house and a private bath with a stall shower make this room a perfect choice for your stay at Chestnut Hall.
Reserving the Mahogany Suite is a good choice. This large two-room suite located on the east side of the house is the perfect retreat at Chestnut Hall. A beautiful queen sleigh bed centers the quiet bedroom while a trundle bed is opposite the elegant electric fireplace in the front sitting room. The Mahogany Suite is perfect for multiple couples or persons who are looking to split the cost of accommodations and willing to share a bathroom with a shower stall. Special rates apply for more than two guests.Enjoying your stay in the Vineyard at Chestnut Hall will come to you naturally. When you wake up on the queen size bed you’ll need to rub your eyes to make sure you’re not outdoors under a grape arbor. What was originally the servant's quarters, the Vineyard is located on the north end of the house and is very private. A large cast iron soaking tub with shower helps make the Vineyard a popular choice for guests at Chestnut Hall.
The Walnut Room is one of the most popular rooms at Chestnut Hall. A large bay window that adjoins a screened balcony shaded from summer’s afternoon sun makes this a great retreat to watch the rest of the world. A lovely 1930s walnut queen size bed will provide you a restful night’s sleep. Even though the private bathroom with a shower/tub combination is not attached it is the largest bath in the house. We will provide you with large white plush robes for your convenience during your stay at Chestnut Hall.
