My wife and I have stayed at dozens if not hundreds of bed and breakfasts over the past several decades of travel. The Northview Inn has to rank as one of the two or three best B&Bs ever. It’s a large rambling Victorian house set on a hillside, surrounded by spacious lawns in New Florence, a small village about equal distance between Johnstown with its interesting flood history and Ligonier with its more upscale resort vibe. The house is nicely decorated in the style of its time with an abundance of pictures, ceramics, books, nicknacks, whatever – all creating a feeling of a warm and welcoming home. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a four poster bed and an attractive but very modern bathroom with ample hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Jeff and Linda are very welcoming hosts and a good source of information about the local attractions. They seem to have thought of everything so often overlooked in other B&Bs (e.g. reading lights on both sides of the bed, pillows with different degrees of hardness, Kleenex, hooks and shelves to put things on, wifi that really works). The breakfast that Linda serves is amazing. It’s like eating breakfast at the Ritz-Carlton, except it’s better. We were there three days and each breakfast was different, delicious, beautifully presented and enormous. Each day we asked Linda to wrap up part of it and had it for lunch. As we were the only guests at the time, we ate our breakfast in a bay window with a nice view of their garden, watching their adorable English setters police the garden against intruding birds. If the weather had been warmer, we would have spent some serious time on their large and inviting veranda. All in all, the Northview Inn was a delight! I cannot imagine a better base for a stay in the quiet and pretty countryside of western Pennsylvania.
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again sometime.

My daughter and I stayed there while we visited area historic sites. Wow! Every detail was obviously thought through and was perfect: the hosts, accommodations, flexibility, helpful ideas, and the food were incredible! Couldn't have been better.

My aunt had passed away and the funeral arrangements were in New Florence. It was a nice distraction to stay at the bed and breakfast. Both Linda and Jeff made our family feel very welcome, the serenity, character and decor made our visit a nice experience. Breakfast in the morning was elegant, delicious and really allowed out family to enjoy each other's company.

My husband and I got married at the Northview Inn in late September 2014 with only our four children there with us. I just can't say enough about the Inn and how absolutely perfect it was. To begin, the rooms were beautiful, comfortable, immaculate, and welcoming. It seemed that Jeff and Linda thought of every detail. Our wedding was held on the porch where Jeff and Linda decorated with fresh cut flowers from their property. They both truly went above and beyond and thought of things that never even crossed our minds, like wine in the afternoon while we got ready and a beautiful cookie plate. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely fantastic with freshly baked scones, fruit with yogurt, pancakes, and bacon. The attention to detail was so wonderful and made our stay an occasion to remember. We will definitely be back!

Northview Inn Bed and Breakfast is the Best B&B we have ever been to. Not only are the bedrooms & bathrooms luxurious and comfortable but they are also spacious and family oriented. The afternoon coffee/ tea and homemade baked goods are amazing! And the breakfasts are beautiful and delicious-- the special details in each meal are evident down to the homegrown ingredients. We have visited twice and plan on visiting again soon. Northview Inn holds a special place in our past and future memories yet to come.

How can we be content staying at other places? Everything was so perfect. The room was great and the pool was fantastic and even nicer than it looks in the picture. They have thought of everything to make a stay that makes you not want to stay anywhere else. Too bad they can not be everywhere we go. The breakfast truly is gourmet and the eggs benedict better than you will find in a restaurant. Linda keeps the inside spotless and Jeff is always working to keep the outside looking beautiful. Linda and Jeff will treat you so well that you will want to come back. It is worth going out of your way for a great place to stay.

We had our two grand children with us and they were as welcomed as we were. Linda and Jeff were gracious and friendly. The food was beyond delicious. We were there for a funeral but the hosts made us feel like we were home. There was always a snack or beverage both for us and the children. I only wish I could be there in the summer when the pool is open. What a perfect find for a quiet getaway at a reasonable price!

We loved our stay at Northview Inn. We were made to feel as though we were at home. We enjoyed sitting in the living room next to the fireplace. I had fun playing the piano in the living room. And our breakfast was out of this world fantastic. We would definitely return.

Linda and Jeff have an absolutely gorgeous place. The rooms are decorated with exquisite taste, yet very comfortable for the guests. Linda took the time to make our stay extra special, knowing it was in celebration of our anniversary. The breakfast was not only delicious but a beautiful presentation. I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a weekend get-a-way or a special night away.

My husband and I truly felt that we were on a romantic couples retreat.. from the delightful candle lit breakfast to the soft comfy bath robes. The landscaping is beautiful with a crystal clear inground pool, inside the inn is graced with victorian elegance .. immaculate! The innkeepers have thought of the fine details to make our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. We felt pampered and a bit like royalty. Thank you Jeff and Linda!

The pictures do not quite do this Inn justice! It was in all ways a wonderful experience to stay here! The physical building was beautiful and clean! The little special touches were, well, special! And the breakfast was simply delicious!

My 6yr old daughter and I had the best time at the Inn. The innkeepers were very accommadating but not pushy. You were never made to feel like you were in someone else's home. You were free to roam about and enjoy all the Inn had to offer. Every part of the Inn was clean and welcoming. Reccomend it highly!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Well beyond our expectations regarding the cleanliness, amenities, and quality of the breakfast which included a variety of teas and coffees, scones, fresh fruit, and a meal prepared for royalty. The house was so clean and beautifully decorated and accomodating. Every detail was thought of, we can't wait to go back.

We found this B&B at the last minute for our anniversary. Champagne & chocolate covered strawberries were waiting for us after a day of sightseeing. What a pleasant surprise! Linda has thought of everything. The house is beautiful, clean & inviting. The breakfast table setting was lovely & the food delicious. We're planning to return right now!

My wife and I have a thirteen year tradition where we go away every October with our closest friends in search of wineries, state parks, history, culture and of course, a lovely B&B to stay in. This year, we stayed at the Northview Inn, and we all agreed that this was the very best B&B of them all. Linda and Jeff are very gracious hosts, and their attention to detail was nothing short of amazing. The home itself is beautiful and warm. The bedding and towels were exceptional. The rooms, grounds and house were immaculate. We actually skipped desert after dinners to save room for Linda's delicious baked goods that awaited us upon our return every evening. The breakfasts were of the charts....fresh fruit, homemade scones, meats, quiches, pancakes...you name it....the portions were HUGE. Linda truly Rocks! I highly recommend the Northview Inn Bed and Breakfast.

WOW!!! Where do we begin? First I have to say the inn was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed, every detail was thought of, from homemade cookies to chocolates in your room. The breakfasts were a spectacular feast that kept us full all day, beyond delicious and such HUGE proportions. The pool and jacuzzi were spotless and so relaxing, it was so very private, and again everything was thought of including a fridge by the pool filled with a variety of cold beverages. But, the BIGGEST and most wonderful thing was how Jeff and Linda treated us when the unexpected happened. We were on our way to a fun evening in Ligonier when a "bambi" decided to come through our windshield, there was blood on me and broken glass everywhere. As soon as we pulled in, the innkeepers went into action, first making sure we were ok and then Jeff got on the phone trying to find us a windshield, while my husband was on his phone with the insurance company. In the meantime, Linda was offering some soothing talk to calm my nerves. Then, they got out the shop vac and a roll of "sticky material" to clean the van and hold part of the windshield in. But, the most unexpected conversation happened, they offered us their personal vehicle to go to Ligonier. UNBELIEVABLE, we were complete strangers and to even suggest such a thing is such a statement of there character and BIG HEARTS! We have stayed at ALLOT of B&B's but this one and the innkeepers far surpassed any we've been to.

My husband and I have been to many Bed and Breakfasts and we both agreed that the Northview Inn Bed and Breakfast has been number one to date. In a word, it was perfection. Beautiful rooms with a candlelit delicious breakfast... the entire experience was elegant from beginning to end. Our hostess, Linda, was gracious and did everything she could to make our stay so special. We are looking forward to returning to Northview for another wonderful escape to the Laurel Highlands area. Everything was exceptional/extraordinary--from the absolute beauty and phenomenal loving care and attention to detail given to this period true Victorian inn to the outstanding and extremely personalized service we received. Although we were 1st time guests, we were treated as honored friends of the manor. And the dining--gourmet! yet distinctly individualized and comfortable. What a delightful visit to a past era of charming grace and elegance. Linda and Jeff were hosts extraordinaire--and our visit will be one not only to remember--but to look forward to repeating. Thank you! Jim and Cynthia

From the exceptional hospitality to the outstanding breakfast, the Northview Inn is a true gem. The grounds are beautiful and the pool so clean and refreshing after a long drive. Jeff and Linda made sure we had everything we needed at every moment. The rooms are large, clean, and the bed so very comfortable with fantastic linens. A perfect get-away from Pittsburgh, or a wonderful stop when traveling through Southwestern PA, you won't be disappointed.

this past weekend, my soon to be fiance and i had the pleasure of staying at the northview and found the place to be absolutely wonderful....the grounds were manicured and anyone could see the time, effort and care that went into making this the "step back into time" experience it was inside the building....we were lucky enough to be able to see all the rooms, each with its own personality, not like the motels we have stayed in previously....the bed we slept in was comfort beyond belief and the view from the oversized windows was magnificent....from the moment you drove up the driveway and into the parking area, you knew this was a place for relaxation, off the beaten path, where your mind could wander back to the simpler days where sitting on the porch was the thing to do....but, for as much as the rooms were laden with antique furniture, the hosts incorporated tastefully, todays modern conveniences (tv,clock,hairdryer).....and the food, every bit as wonderful as the place itself, with the hosts, jeff and linda, proudly admitting they themselves prepared it....although the pool was not yet open, jeff explained to me they had just renovated the pool area and it was soon to open....all in all, the stay at the northview was exquisite and i know we will be back again......

This inn is resplendent! Jeff & Linda are gracious, excellent hosts. The rooms are gorgeous and the living room with its fireplace and comfy surroundings was just the perfect place to sit and have a complimentary glass (or 2) of port wine and read a good book (you just have to read "Pioneer Woman"- funny and warm). I didn't want to leave! If you want warmth and luxury and absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS breakfasts, this is where you want to be.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Northview Inn Bed and Breakfast because of a surprise gift from our family for our anniversary...and after staying there, it certainly was an extraordinary gift! First off, the inn is beautiful. The house has been restored and decorated in such a detailed manner that you will never be able to see all the creative and classy touches in every room in just one visit! Therefore, it creates such a cozy and welcoming environment. You can hang out in the downstairs living room and watch TV, play chess/checkers, read a book, or just relax. However, the bedroom is just as inviting and it is hard to choose which place to unwind. There is coffee and tea available at anytime in the dining room. The front porch is very inviting with a swing overlooking the town and colors of fall. And then comes out favorite part to mention: the AMAZING breakfast. We had such a variety of food and every ounce of it was prepared, cooked, and presented in absolute perfection. My husband and I have stayed or visited various inns/restaurants comparable to this, but this ranks very high as one of the best breakfasts we have ever eaten! There is so much attention to detail, whether upkeep of the house, decoration, menu/food, assistance with places to go (leisure or restaurants), and overall creating a feeling of comfort and warmth. As another guest mentioned, we wish we could have spent more time here. However, that just encourages us to make it a point to stay here again soon. Thanks Jeffrey and Linda! You are great hosts of a great B & B!

My wife and I and another couple stayed at the Northview last weekend. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The accomodations were perfect. The breakfasts were unbelievable. The service and attention to detail offered by Jeff and Linda was impecable. We stayed over the Ligonier Days weekend - a short 15 drive from the inn. This was very convenient and far enough away to get away from the crowd. My wife and I both agreed that the only complaint we had was that we didn't spend enough time enjoying the hospitality and the inn due to the time spent at Ligonier Days. We hope to return soon. Thank you Jeff and Linda for making our weekend special. God Bless, J and C Z
