For the leisure traveler, the inn is your base for East Broad Top Railroad, Gettysburg, Whitetail ski resort, Cowans Gap State Park, Great Cove Golf Course, Buchanan State Forest, and 150 miles of hiking trails! The area is full of Civil War history. The inn is situated in a village in the Great Cove, at the base of the Appalachian Mountains 90 miles north of Washington, D.C. The inn was built in 1903 for a retired Civil War captain. For Lincoln Highway buffs, Route 30 is our main street. Weekend antique sales and auctions abound. An 18-hole golf course is located in the middle of a beautiful valley with breathtaking views. Weekdays are ideal for weary business travelers who need fax service and Internet access but want the comfort of a bed and breakfast inn. Available are three spacious guest rooms with queen-size beds and private, modern, in-room baths. One of the rooms contains a queen-size bed and a single bed. The Inn is air conditioned. It is close to Interstates 70 and 81 and only nine miles south of Exit 13 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

At that exit take Route 522 9 miles south to McConnellsburg.

    The Inn's comfortable living room offers a pleasant setting for gathering with friends or fellow guests.The Major Samuel and Mrs. Cowan Room is a favorite of honeymooners and guests celebrating special occasions. Our Pennsylvania walnut,four-poster bed stands on a beautiful Oriental rug.  The room has a painted floor.  You'll find an antique writing desk, private bath, and views of the Tuscarora Mountains here.
    The Tuscarora Suite contains a queen-size bed and a single bed, along with a private bath.  Rates are $85/single; $95/double; $120/triple.The single bed that is part of the Tuscarora Suite.  This room also has a queen-size bed and private bath.
    The Captain Skinner Room is a comfortable room that features a queen-size bed with antique crocheted canopy, private bath, tv with VCR, and a view of the western mountain ridge.
