My husband and I visited the Railroad House to celebrate his birthday. Eric and Tracy are excellent hosts: warm hospitality, very nice and friendly, and they made us feel at home. Their staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous. The chef prepared excellent meals. We were upgraded to the Cottage, which was the original kitchen, and we truly enjoyed staying there. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed the Friday-night entertainment (MugShot Sole and Blues Band), and we even did some dancing. All in all, one of the best times we have ever had at a bed and breakfast. The train noise did not bother us. The Railroad House is a home away from home. We hope to visit again! Thanks, Eric and Tracy, for making our getaway a memorable one.

My husband and I stayed at the RR House Inn and what a great place it is. It's under new management, the owners and the staff have such enthusiasm. From the time you walk in till you depart, it's a great experience. It's clean, cozy and warm atmosphere puts you in a state of relaxation. The weekend was pure indulgence, fantastic food and great company. The Chef's home made Seafood Imperial was by far the best I have eaten. All the desserts were home made and delicious. So my recommendation to all who are looking for a relaxing weekend or a vacation in PA is to stay at the RR house Inn and you must stop and dine there because the food is fabulous. - Matcene Hopkins, Barnegat, NJ

I stayed at the Railroad House Inn back in Nov 2008 as part of a train trip from the Deep South to New England. It was very nice, very comfortable and clean. Although I was traveling with a non-spousal family member and the B and b is geared toward the "romantic getaway" sort of travel, we were treated very well. This was especially nice considering that the Railroad House was a last-minute substitute for a stop that, it turned out, was not available on the day we were traveling through. (Note to Southern rail buffs: There is no train in the Northeast just like the Crescent, with its relaxed but reliable daily service, not-so-close attention to schedule deadlines, and nice roomy layout. In the busy cities up there, the trains leave early. The train which goes to Portland, Maine, however, has volunteer tour guides on it, and reminds me a little of the Crescent. But I digress...) As I was saying, the Railroad House Inn was not only spacious and clean but the breakfast there was nice-- a fruit plate ornamented with flowers from the garden, a special egg dish tailored to bypass my food allergy, lots of hot tea, and cold milk. The backyard flower garden was beautiful to look upon. It was nice to see b and w pictures of the place during the early 70s, under different management, with Jane Fonda leading protests in the backyard. These traces are hard to see--you have to look for them--and what stands out most is the feeling of much earlier history. There is a large fireplace, with antique cooking pots and tools, in the dining room in which we breakfasted. The only drawback is the fact that the Railroad House (despite its strong historic connection with the railroad) is not within walking distance of an Amtrak station. Overall, though, this was very nice.
