BF Hiestand House B&B

722 East Market Street , Marietta, PA 17547 USA (Show map) Diamond Collection

Professionally Inspected & Certified Diamond Collection

The B.F. Hiestand House is an elegant High Queen Anne style Victorian home conveniently located in the Historic Rivertowne of Marietta along the Susquehanna River. From this location it is a short trip to Hershey, Historic Lancaster City, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Wineries, Outlets, the Historic Rivertownes of Marietta, Columbia and Wrightsville, and many other local attractions and sights. The gracious Inn was designed by local architect C. Emlen Urban, and built in 1887 as the home of B. Frank Hiestand, a well known lumber mill owner of his time, and his family. The house is on the Historic Registry of homes. The first floor features a rare american chestnut foyer and staircase. Two parlors with pocket doors and fireplaces are great places to unwind with a good book or viewing a DVD on the large screen TV. In the formal dining room, the mahogany wainscoting and coiffered ceiling are magnificent. Freehand stenciling enhances the triple stained glass windows. Afternoon refreshments and a full breakfast will be served in this cheerful room. The second floor bathrooms contain stain glass windows and hand painted French tile work surrounding whirlpool tubs or spa shower.

Wonderful Trip to Marietta PA~

4.6 on May 19, 2015

A friend and I traveled to B.F. Hiestand House in Marietta for an afternoon winery tour and an overnight stay. Dallas was a wonderful host for the winery tour, and truly took his lead from us with the pace. It was a beautiful day with beautiful wineries. Dallas and Pam are both wonderful hosts, and we definitely enjoyed our visit. This Victoria room was super comfortable and we hardly knew we were sharing a house once we were behind closed doors. I hope you would enjoy your experience as much as I did!

Terrific B&B

The BF Hiestand House is a great stay! The house is in great shape and retains many of the original design features. The rooms superbly decorated. The service provided by Pam and Dallas is excellent. They are terrific hosts! We would definitely stay here again, and look forward to coming back. We stayed in the Susquehanna room.

The best of my parents

I set my parents up with reservation's for St. Valentines Day weekend. When they came home, they could not stop bragging about the amazing time and the treatment they recieved. Thank you so much for spoiling my parents. I will be coming to see this beautiful place for myself soon.

A Wonderful B&B

The Hiestand House is everything we wanted in a B&B, and more. Pam and Dallas are terrific hosts - the breakfasts were delicious, the home is quiet and welcoming. After a two-night stay, we were refreshed and well rested. We recommend the BF Hiestand House - you won't be disappointed.

Weekend Getaway

My wife and I stayed t the BF Hiestand February 6th-8th and had a wonderful time. Pam and Dallas were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was amazing. We are hoping to book another stay during the summer because there seems to be more activities open then during the winter months. I would definitely recommend their B&B to anyone.

Home Away From Home

After the hustle and bustle of the holidays my husband and I needed a few days of peace and serenity. We chose the Suite as we always do if its available, its our personal favorite, my husband likes the separate TV room and I love the large jacuzzi. When you walk into the B&B, whether its your first time or your 7th as it was for us, and as it will be for each and every return trip, you are warmly greeted by Pam and Dallas the Innkeepers as well as Quincy their dog. Pam will ask if you have any dietary restrictions, as well as what time you would like to eat breakfast, which I might add not all B&B's do. Most B&B's (and I have been to many) usually tell you what time breakfast is and give you a short time frame; this sets BF Hiestand House apart from the others. Pam will show you to your room, show you how to use the TV, DVR, etc., ask if you need anything, need directions, have questions or concerns and then leave you to get settled. The suite comes with a small refrigerator stocked with soda, both regular and diet and water, and there is more water in the refrigerator in the hall. If you need ideas for a place to eat, a place to visit or just to shop Pam is always ready to make suggestions and even give you a map and mark the route for you. The beds and bedding are amazing, the sheets are the softest ever and you just get lost in the tranquility of the comfort. The breakfasts are second to none, every day is different and oh so delicious and there is always plenty of juice, coffee and so many teas that you will have a hard time choosing one. You will never be disappointed staying at BF Hiestand House, trust me, they know what they are doing and they do it well. Their warmth and hospitality, along with the cooking and baking, yes Pam makes all her own muffins, are second to none!

Everything was perfect!

Better than a hotel

4.6 on November 15, 2014

We spent just the one evening here, however the room and hosts were excellent. Our hosts helped us find a nice place to eat and in the morning pointed us in the right direction for some hiking trails. The breakfast they made up was extra delicious. All and all we would definitely come back. Pam and Dallas are great hosts. My only complaint is that I was hoping for a little more rural of an environment, whereas this B&B is located more in a historic downtown area.

Wonderful memorable experience
