The B.F. Hiestand House is an elegant High Queen Anne style Victorian home conveniently located in the Historic Rivertowne of Marietta along the Susquehanna River. From this location it is a short trip to Hershey, Historic Lancaster City, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Wineries, Outlets, the Historic Rivertownes of Marietta, Columbia and Wrightsville, and many other local attractions and sights. The gracious Inn was designed by local architect C. Emlen Urban, and built in 1887 as the home of B. Frank Hiestand, a well known lumber mill owner of his time, and his family. The house is on the Historic Registry of homes. The first floor features a rare american chestnut foyer and staircase. Two parlors with pocket doors and fireplaces are great places to unwind with a good book or viewing a DVD on the large screen TV. In the formal dining room, the mahogany wainscoting and coiffered ceiling are magnificent. Freehand stenciling enhances the triple stained glass windows. Afternoon refreshments and a full breakfast will be served in this cheerful room. The second floor bathrooms contain stain glass windows and hand painted French tile work surrounding whirlpool tubs or spa shower.

We spent just the one evening here, however the room and hosts were excellent. Our hosts helped us find a nice place to eat and in the morning pointed us in the right direction for some hiking trails. The breakfast they made up was extra delicious. All and all we would definitely come back. Pam and Dallas are great hosts. My only complaint is that I was hoping for a little more rural of an environment, whereas this B&B is located more in a historic downtown area.

Loved being taken care of instead of being the caretaker. Breakfast was wonderful. Pam really goes all out for breakfast.Room was elegant with a comfortable bed with very nice sheets and blankets. Decor was very nice and having a Anniversary cake waiting for us when we walked into the room was a very nice touch. Pam held up my husband downstairs so I could surprise him with rose petals on the bed and a basket with champagne and chocolates and electric tea lights around the room.He absolutely loved it. Thank you Pam. Dallas took us on a vineyard tour of four vineyards. He was funny and charming and engaged us with conversation the whole time. We had a good time with him.Loved all the goodies we received on the second vineyard provided by Dallas. They had plenty of good suggestions of places to go and even offered to make reservations for us and drive us to and from different places. We felt taken care of by this lovely couple and would definitely go back and suggest everyone give it a try. Place was very clean and decor was very nice.

My newlywed wife and I very much enjoyed our stay! The Bed and Breakfast is lovely. They were undergoing some repairs while we were there, but we were never disturbed. Dallas and Pam are just the friendliest people you could ever meet! Dallas introduced me to a local beer, and gave us a gift card for a nearby restaurant. We hope to visit again soon.

My husband & I live in the Phila area and wanted to get away, stay local to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Our visit here by far has been better than any of the many B&B's we have been to. Pam & Dallas hospitality is superior. Pampering and feeling right at home. They have paid special attention to the smallest details to make our stay the best ever. Excellent customer service and décor and cleanliness impeccable! Pam went out of hear way to make and serve a gluten free breakfast that was delicious! 5 STARS! And, enjoy your stay here you made the right choice! Candy & Freddie Pack

My husband and I had a lovely weekend at the BF Hiestand House B&B. I have very high expectations. It was everything a B&B stay should be. I have come to expect clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated B&B's. We enjoyed the special two person shower in the Susquehanna room. Breakfast was delicious. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. There were many niceties: scented soap, chocolates, soft sheets, white noise machine, local info, and more.

We stayed at the B&B this past weekend. It was our first time staying at a B&B and we would most certainly do it again; especially one owned by Dallas and Pam. First and foremost, Pam can cook the heck out of some food!!! Both our meals were top notch. Her husband Dallas was so helpful in planing day trips and restaurants to visit. The rooms were very clean, the house was beautiful and had great history. Their BIG 120 pound lab Quincy was friendly and sweet. I would rate the whole experience a 10 of 10. They made B&B fans of us! Thanks for making our anniversary trip a great experience!!
Thank you so very much for your kind words! We really enjoyed meeting you and are so happy your first B&B experience was a good one. B&B's are very diverse and are a "better way to stay"! Glad you want to try another some day!

My husband and I were looking for a special place to stay on our wedding night before we left for our honeymoon. I searched many local B&B's and couldn't find what we were looking for until I came up B. F. Hiestand. We were able to book the Cannon Cottage, which gave us the privacy and comfort we were looking for. Pam and Dallas were wonderful hosts, we had a very late check-in and they were super accommodating and we had the option to eat our delicious breakfast in the privacy of our cottage which was perfect! The cottage was well appointed and had the most comfortable bed and sheets. The spa shower, tub and heated floor were such a nice treat as well! Pam was so gracious and gave us a special gift when we left, she was so sweet! We had a such wonderful stay at B.F. Hiestand and will always cherish the time that we spent there! If you are looking for a welcoming, inviting and beautiful place to stay while in Lancaster country, this is it!

A friend and I stayed in the Cannon Cottage for 3 nights. Monday, March 25th and it was lovely. The bed was so comfortable, the whirlpool so relaxing and the breakfast was so very good. The innkeepers made you feel as if you were family and were so helpful with suggestions on what to do, etc. The high point was Quincy, the family's pet fetching the morning newspaper. This is my 3rd trip to this B&B and already planning to visit again in June or July.
