First, our stay was 9/2011 and we were remiss in posting our comments. We concur with the positive reviews here. If you are looking for a place where they fawn over you this isn't the place. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in a country setting, that is convenient to the shops in Intercourse and also to the antique shops in Adamstown, this is it. That said, I wanted to let Chris know that his made from scratch'hot' salsa was fantastic. I bought a jar and wished I had gotten several. When we are in the area, even if for just a drive through, I will stop and get more.

We had a fantastic one night stay at Across the Way Fassitt Mansion Bed and Breakfast. The house and property are very beautiful. We had a delicious breakfast and wonderful visit with Chris. It was a short stay for us, but wish it could have been longer.

If you're looking for a quiet and simple getaway from low-priced motels and the swarms of smorgasbord-seeking tourists, this is the perfect place. Tastefully decorated, there was afternoon tea service with an amazing orange bundt cake, and the grounds had a nice pond in the front yard and free-range chickens roaming around, to remind one you're in the country.

Nice place to spend a 33rd wedding anniversary

The room was nice and clean and the food was excellent. My wife and I wanted a quite getaway to celebrate 33 years of married life. Across the Way provided what we were looking for. However, like our marriage, there were a few snags along the way. I misread my own directions and got lost and couldn't find the place initially. Then when we arrived the place was empty and no one was around. We were not sure if we have to register or what. We decided to go in, find our room and settle in and call the phone number we were given. No answer. Our room was very cold. We lit the gas logs in the fireplace and the room began to warm up. Finally we got a phone call from the owner of the B&B and from then on everything went much better. The room warmed up, was quiet, clean, comfortable and charming. Had a good nights rest. Woke up to the faint but pleasing sounds of a rooster crowing, and had enough time to get ready for a very tasty breakfast. Overall we enjoyed the stay very much and we are planning to return.

We had a great time at the Fassitt Mansion! We were there for a quick weekend getaway and it was great. The rooms were clean - the house was big - but cozy at the same time. The foor was awesome! Chris did a great job of cooking delicious meals and the presentation was perfect. Coffee was delicious - a little jazz music in the background - it was relaxing and scrumptious all at the same time. The only gripe I had was the breakfast time... 8:30 is a little early for me - especially when I am away for the weekend with just my husband and no kids. I found myself waking up over and over again to check the clock... didn't want to miss breakfast. Maybe a little later breakfast would be nice... Just saying.
