The new owners have really cleaned the place up nicely. They're still working on some of it, but don't let that stop you from staying. The accommodations were great and the breakfast was scrumptious!

My daughter and I absolutely enjoyed our visit to the Fassitt Mansion. The countryside is beautiful. The furnishings at the bed and breakfast couldn't be better. We absolutely enjoyed our delicious breakfast prepared by Ricky. It was a pleasure eating breakfast with him and he was very thorough with the tour and history of the Fassitt Mansion. As long as my daughter continues to live only 6 miles away in Coatesville, PA, I will definitely be back for a visit. Thank you. Diane Johnson (Hawthorne, NJ)

My husband and I booked the "Masters Chamber" for a 3 night stay. The B&B is perfectly located in the Amish countryside (they even have Amish neighbors!). It's also within an hour driving distance of both Hersheypark and Philadelphia. Ricky, the inn keeper, was absolutely delightful and always had a smile on his face and loads of information to share about the past history of the inn. The breakfasts lived up to it's hype - amazing every morning! We were lucky to taste eggs, peach french toast and quiche (all which were really yummy). Since we got there early, we were able to take a tour of the home and saw all of the bedrooms. We were happy with the Masters Chamber - a huge room with a fireplace and onsuite bathroom. We will definitely be staying here again and will recommend this amazing B&B to friends and family. - Devin & Gavin

Very nice Inn, loved the rural surroundings and the Amish buggies traveling by daily. Our room had a trap door in the closet that was used during the Underground Railroad era. Breakfast was very good, blueberry French toast, wonderful potato mixtures each day. Not a fancy place, but a homey place, comfortable and nice.

My husband and I stayed here when I surprised him with a night away from the kids. We were able to sit and relax without being disturbed by noisy guests like at a hotel. Chris was attentive and met any need we had. It was a special evening in a very relaxing environment where we were made to feel special and at home. We will return again!

I loved this B&B especially the history behind it and still evident within it. A "Safe House?" how cool is that? I thought the surrounding scenery was beautiful and peaceful. It was quiet enough for me. I had a great time during my visit to the Lancaster Area. It's been many years since the last time I visited. Chris was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. By the way, great freshly cooked breakfasts not only tasty but professionally displayed. Linda Hamilton (not the actress) from NJ

First, our stay was 9/2011 and we were remiss in posting our comments. We concur with the positive reviews here. If you are looking for a place where they fawn over you this isn't the place. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in a country setting, that is convenient to the shops in Intercourse and also to the antique shops in Adamstown, this is it. That said, I wanted to let Chris know that his made from scratch'hot' salsa was fantastic. I bought a jar and wished I had gotten several. When we are in the area, even if for just a drive through, I will stop and get more.

We had a fantastic one night stay at Across the Way Fassitt Mansion Bed and Breakfast. The house and property are very beautiful. We had a delicious breakfast and wonderful visit with Chris. It was a short stay for us, but wish it could have been longer.

If you're looking for a quiet and simple getaway from low-priced motels and the swarms of smorgasbord-seeking tourists, this is the perfect place. Tastefully decorated, there was afternoon tea service with an amazing orange bundt cake, and the grounds had a nice pond in the front yard and free-range chickens roaming around, to remind one you're in the country.

The room was nice and clean and the food was excellent. My wife and I wanted a quite getaway to celebrate 33 years of married life. Across the Way provided what we were looking for. However, like our marriage, there were a few snags along the way. I misread my own directions and got lost and couldn't find the place initially. Then when we arrived the place was empty and no one was around. We were not sure if we have to register or what. We decided to go in, find our room and settle in and call the phone number we were given. No answer. Our room was very cold. We lit the gas logs in the fireplace and the room began to warm up. Finally we got a phone call from the owner of the B&B and from then on everything went much better. The room warmed up, was quiet, clean, comfortable and charming. Had a good nights rest. Woke up to the faint but pleasing sounds of a rooster crowing, and had enough time to get ready for a very tasty breakfast. Overall we enjoyed the stay very much and we are planning to return.

We had a great time at the Fassitt Mansion! We were there for a quick weekend getaway and it was great. The rooms were clean - the house was big - but cozy at the same time. The foor was awesome! Chris did a great job of cooking delicious meals and the presentation was perfect. Coffee was delicious - a little jazz music in the background - it was relaxing and scrumptious all at the same time. The only gripe I had was the breakfast time... 8:30 is a little early for me - especially when I am away for the weekend with just my husband and no kids. I found myself waking up over and over again to check the clock... didn't want to miss breakfast. Maybe a little later breakfast would be nice... Just saying.

Right in the middle of farm country.Views are beautiful.House is lovely and the room was clean. Only complaint is the room was very chilly and fireplace was not working. This is a laid back atmosphere. Don't expect someone to greet you - just find your room. If you run out of tp - use tissues. Enjoyed the hot water for tea & snacks available to guests. I think it would be nice to visit in spring/summer. Chris was kind when we had to rush to leave & couldn't stay for b-fast. He insisted my son sit & eat what he could before we left. We appreciated his kindness. Loved Max the dog (or maybe he was a bull). Would be nice if coffee was available before 8:30am. Overall, nice place!

My friend and I have stayed twice in the Master's Chamber and each time we were already planning a return visit before we even left! The B&B is charming, the Master's Chamber is spacious yet still cozy with a lovely bed and fireplace, and the porch is a great place to get a bit of sun and relax. Chris, the innkeeper is incredibly hospitable, plus he makes the yummiest breakfasts. The B&B is close enough to shopping and Amish attractions without being in the middle of it, which is nice. If you want charming and relaxing but nothing too fancy, then this is the perfect weekend get away place.

From reading the reviews I expected a good experience. The value and room were excellent The french toast was very good, but being in the farming mecca of P.A. I expected a little more for breakfast. We will be back...

Breakfast was good. Chris does a nice job. Glad the gas logs worked in our room because it was chilly. I think this could be an excellent B & B but it needs some attention outdoors and indoors and needs a woman's touch.

we needed to find a B&B that would let us bring our dog Lillie, when I found this place I didn't expect much and was very pleasantly surprised. It was clean quiet and comfortable and close to the places we wanted to visit.the history of the mansion was told to us by our host and chef whowas excelent. next time we go we will stay there again in a bigger room.we had a wonderful time.

No one met us upon arrival, but we knew the name of our room so we just 'moved in.' In the living room were trays and glass covered pedestal cake dish that evidently are for cookies etc. and they were all empty the entire stay. Also, delightful array of teas displayed there with a Thermos...of cool water. On the table was a mug of someone's leftover tea which was never cleaned up. It's a lovely property, but needs a woman's touch.

Me and my husband spent a night here. It was cute and cozy...The only thing I recommend is to get there when it is still light out due to no street lights. The room was nice. Think we will upgrade to a different room next time. We stayed in the overlook. Chris is the chef and made a splendid breakfast! The family that was staying there as well were awesome. Saturday we left and as you travel down Old Philadelphia Pike toward Kitchen Kettle Village, you are going to hit MANY huge yard sales and some that even are selling true Amish foods, jams, and some who even bbq!

This bed and breakfast was an absolutely perfect way to spend a few days away from NYC. It was simply romantic and all of the rooms were beautiful. The chef's breakfasts were outstanding and the food was prepared to meet each person's individual needs. My husband and I absolutely loved this B&B and will surely visit again.

When we arrived, we were immediately treated as family! We were given a key, and made completely comfortable, with instructions on what to see and do. There was afternoon tea with drinks and Shoo-fly pie! We stayed in the Freedom room, which is the room containing the hidden space in the closet where slaves were hidden on the Underground Railroad. We were free to explore both inside and out. Breakfast was delicious, as Chris, our host, is a chef. . It was fun to sit on the hundred or os year old porch and watch the amish carts go by.We will definitely recommend this place to everyone! Thanks Chris!

I Love this property! I love the history of this property and the location is wonderful. The only problem we had was the Inn Keeper forgot to wake up to make us breakfast. He did apologize but when you go to a B&B you kind of expect Breakfast.

I stayed at Fassitt Mansion many times in the past...about 15-20 years ago. It was absolutely the lovliest B&B I've ever had the pleasure to stay in. Thinking of those visits long ago made me start researching whether it was still a B&B. Of course, someone else owned Fassitt Mansion back then, but what a delight to find your website! I will definitely make plans to visit PA again and stay at Fassitt Mansion!

We were the only other couple to stay at this beautiful and comfy place. Chris is so hospitable and friendly and makes you feel right at home. The room was warm and spacious and just what I wanted. Breakfast in the morning was cooked by Chris himself and was delicious. I more than recommend staying here, in lovely Amish country. Will definitely be back again.

I e-mailed the proprietor to ask for dinner and activity recommendations in the area and never heard back. We arrived at the B&B at the scheduled check in time and no one was there. We called both phone numbers for the B&B and left messages that were never returned. We then went out shopping and had dinner and stopped back by the B&B on our way out of town (we were all set to just give up and drive home). Fortunately we ran into someone who lives at the B&B and she let us in. The B&B itself was very nice, the breakfast was great, and Chris was very friendly. Their poor communication nearly ruined our Valentine's Day vacation.

We had a great time talking with Chris(the innkeeper & chef). He told us all about the history behind this magnificent mansion. He made us great gourmet breakfasts. He was a true professional! Unfortunately, they had some kind of heating issue when we stayed there, & the whole house was quite chilly. We made the best of it, though. All in all, we had a pretty good experience. We would probably stay there again, but I'm just not sure about in the winter. :-)

Our group of three stayed 2 nights at Fassitt Mansion and found it to be delightful accommodation meeting our needs. The only slight hiccup was that our agreeable host overslept the first morning, so our breakfast was 3/4 hr later than scheduled.

We absolutely loved it here! The B&B is beautiful, the rooms are cozy (as in comfortable - not tiny), and the surroundings are gorgeous... Chris was so welcoming and cooked everyone the most amazing breakfast in the morning. We're looking for an excuse to return soon. We'd highly recommend it!

Lovely grounds and accommodations. One gripe is that I specifically reserved at this B&B because of the fireplace in the room, but it didn't work! There was no one on the grounds to inquire at the time of my arrival. Otherwise everything was very nice.

My husband and I stayed at Across The Way for one night, but it certainly won't be our last night. First of all, we loved looking around the grounds and home and learning about its rich history. Kevin, the owner, could not have been more hospitable. He answered every question and took time to show us around. In spite of the fact that cars zipped by on Old Philadelphia Pike, road noise was not a problem. Breakfast included an "insanely delicious" freshly baked breakfast bread. We left there rested, full and enriched. We recommend this property to anyone, particularly to history buffs.

My family and I stayed at the Fassit Mansion in June 2008. We stayed in the Freedom Room which has a false bottom/trapdoor in the closet where 32 escaping slaves were hidden on the underground railroad. The room itself was a treat to stay in---quilts on the beds, a fireplace, huge windows.... Our room had a king size bed which was totally comfortable. There was also a double bed in the room. The thick walls of the mansion made for a quiet and peaceful retreat. The views from our room were spectacular.....like a picture on a postcard....gently rolling hills dotted with Amish farms. We sat on the rocking chairs on the front porch and watched Amish buggies go by. My daughter spent the evening working on a jigsaw puzzle in the drawing room assisted by the innkeeper, Amanda!!! We enjoyed homemade belgian waffles with blueberries on top, fruit compote, and fresh coffee for breakfast along with a chance to meet other guests and chat with the inn keeper. I am looking forward to a chance to return to this gracious and comfortable bed and breakfast!!!! Kathy
