I always have my dog (a Doberman) with me, I'm typically looking for a pet-friendly hotel. While some are quite nice, they are hotels, and traveling dogs like to bark at every single noise. I found Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast on www.bringfido.com and decided to check them out. We arrived on Sunday, August 31st; the Innkeeper, Robin, came out to greet us, offer help, and show us to our room. He made sure to get my dog's and my mom's name, and showed me the room. We stayed in the Pet-sylvania room (one of three pet-friendly rooms). Adorable room, with microwave, coffee maker, dishware and cutlery, even a dog bowl! All very nice, antique furnishings. Heat/air controllable in the room. A spacious bathroom well-stocked with their custom toiletries, extras in the bathroom cabinet so we didn't have to ask. The spacious dog walking area was right outside of our room. They also own two acres across the street with walking trails, a fountain, and a Labyrinth. Well away from high traffic areas, it is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We left the window open at night to hear the crickets (I love them) and frogs. Up early the next morning for breakfast, I was greeted at the door by Rehab, their mixed lab. A wonderful dog, he stayed with me through breakfast, leaning against my leg while I pet him part of the time and then laying at my feet while I ate. The main house is beautiful, and I believe about 200 years old. It was originally part of the Underground Railroad. Kit, the other Innkeeper, had made fresh orange-cranberry scones. Dusted with powdered sugar, an excellent way to start with a glass of fresh orange juice. Then came a zucchini-potato frittata with tomatoes and a poached egg (fresh this morning from their chickens!), and bacon. Coffee and toast were also available. I HIGHLY recommend Pheasant Field B&B!!!! If you are traveling with horses, they also board horses for your stay. A beautiful inn, out in the peaceful countryside!! :)
Thank you for your wonderful review and we are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us! We try our best to cater to all our guests, and make it a good stay for pets too. It's a pleasure to serve breakfast - our happy chickens provide us especially delicious eggs to go with our home grown vegetables! We look forward to your next visit.

The Corvette Car Show in Carlisle is the reason we started staying at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast many years ago. While we still attend the show, it is Pheasant. Field itself that calls us back the last weekend of every August. A beautiful brick home built in 1802 (part of the Underground Railroad) awaits us. Whether it is quietly contemplating the wonders of it all on a bench over by the pond, or swinging peacefully on the front porch swing with a good book or walking parts of the Appalachian Trail (only 1/4 mile from the house), it all takes hold of you and for a few days you are at peace with the world. Have to mention the delicious breakfast that awaits you each morning, served cheerfully by Kit and Robin. You must do yourself a favor and visit with the wonderful folks at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast. Julie and John Vasalani, Pittsburgh, PA

We were greeted by a very pleasant owner and the official Pheasant Field B&B ambassador. (Their well behaved, tail wagging, happy dog. We were asked what time we preferred to have breakfast prepared and a menu was provided so we could choose beverages and an entree. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated with period correct antique furniture. The bathroom was clean and user friendly, fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, blow dryer, etc. The breakfast area was bright and cheerful. The breakfast was delicious, served with coffee or tea, choice of juice and ice water. Would definitely recommend visiting their B&B.
We are so pleased you had a great experience at Pheasant Field and thank you for your kind words. We want our guests to feel welcomed upon arrival, relaxed during their stay and satisfied with a specially prepared breakfast. Thank you for your visit!

This was our first bed and breakfast ever and we could not have asked for a better experience. Our room was perfect. We stayed in the Lady Pheasant and it was better than what we were expecting. It was very clean and very comfortable. The property is beautiful. The owners went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be returning.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Robin and Rehab, we knew we would love this b and b. We were not disappointed. The dog friendly room was great for our needs and had all the amenities one would need. Breakfast each morning, prepared by Kit, was a testimony to her culinary excellence. The innkeepers were attentive to all of our needs, whether it be recommending a place for dinner or giving directions. We cannot wait to go back!

The Suite Remembrance truly provided sweet memories for my wife and me, who hadn't had a get-a-way in many years. I enjoyed the fireplace and the fine care and craftsmanship taken with the room. Extremely cozy, clean, cheerful, and private. My only concern was that, even though check out was at 11:00 AM, when we returned from a nice walk around the pond at about 9:30 AM, someone was in our room already cleaning up trash and draining the nice bath I had prepared for myself upon returning from my walk. Yet my brief annoyance was overwhelmed by the welcoming gestures of Robin and Kitty and the amazing breakfast that they prepared for us.
