Dinner on arrival was peculiar. I ordered fish and chips, expecting traditional fare. Instead, I was served what can only be described as fish "nuggets." Further, they were overcooked and had little taste. In contrast, the breakfast was ample and delicious.

Staying at the Golden Eagle Inn evokes pastoral England’s charm, manners, and folksiness. Immediately upon entering the foyer, the atmosphere and hospitality harkens back to a simpler, more fanciful time while the gourmet menu in the dining room rivals any modern, big city eatery. The location is convenient, the host was debonair, the hostess was charming, and the professional staff are all top-notch and responsive. Our room had high ceilings, en suite bathroom and comfy bedding. It was surprisingly quiet for a street-facing room. In July, there were fresh flowers everywhere, obviously picked from the gardens outside. What a serendipitous lodging choice to travel back in time to a more gracious period! We’ll be back!

My husband and I were lucky enough to enjoy a 2 night stay at the Golden Eagle. It is a beautiful old home in a great historic town. The room was immaculate and more than met our needs. The food was delicious and the coffee was waiting well before breakfast was served! The owners are wonderful and were always ready to meet any needs. This was our first time to the area and we hope to return soon. The Golden Eagle will definitely be where we stay. The Golden Eagle is not a luxury inn but if you are wanting a truly wonderful bed and breakfast stay, this is the place for you.

My husband and I stayed at the Golden Eagle Inn for a recent wedding and truly loved it. We have stayed in many B&Bs before, and this was by far our favorite! It was spotlessly clean, and the staff was so accommodating. We will definitely be back if we ever visit Bedford again!

Did an overnight stay for my birthday and had dinner in the dining room. Food was excellent both for dinner and our breakfast the next morning. The room was very nice and the service was great. Would definitely stay and dine there again.

Our stay was over St Paddy's day weekend and it was a very busy time. The restoration of the Golden Eagle while ongoing is quite lovely. The hosts did a fine job accommodating our needs. Since this was only a one night stay we were not able to enjoy much historic Bedford has to offer. Rooms comfortably appointed, however not very soundproof. Food, both in the pub and for breakfast was very good.

We stayed at the Golden Eagle Inn this weekend. The rooms are beautifully decorated; ours had a fireplace too. The hotel is immaculate. The bed was so comfy. Tom was a great host, attending to our every request. The restaurant offers a variety of creative and delicious meals. In the morning, breakfast was excellent! We enjoyed our quiet, relaxing stay. Don't hesitate to book your stay here. This is a B&B where socializing is optional, so you can just relax. You can shop around the little town. There is a movie theater across the street. The wi-fi worked great and we had good cell phone reception. We'll definitely stay here again!
