Pat and Tracy were wonderful. Pat was very friendly at check in. She walked us to our room, and showed us everything. The room was very clean and well decorated. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a romantic place to stay on the Oregon coast.

We were warmly welcomed by the lovely innkeeper and made to feel at home. The view from our suite was superb and the view from the hot tub even better. We were surprised at how quiet it was at night; we did not hear the road noise at all. Great romantic hide-a-way. We will be back to see how the repairs to the deck and landscaping progress and to take advantage of those kayaks in the spring.

We stayed at Wheeler Lodge over New Years. I was expecting an older marginal room for the rate and what I found was a gem hidden away in a town we always drive through. The room was newly renovated and contained everything you could ever want. The owners saw to small details that made the stay surprisingly refreshing. From the jetted tub, to a kitchenette that had everything at your disposal to the impeccable linens we were delighted. I would highly recommend a stay at the lodge. I cant wait to come back in the summer for some fishing on the water.

Very friendly innkeepers. They are extremely helpful and generous; they helped make our stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. Fun quirky beach place, but with great big clean rooms. They have unique style (not the run-of-the-mill beach resort type place), which we appreciate very much! We stayed in the Honeymoon Room overlooking the water. We loved the jacuzzi tub where we had a view of the ocean from sitting in the tub. Great comfortable bed too, and warm fireplace. We felt that we received great accommodations for the price and we will definitely be back!

My wife and I spent two nights at Wheeler on The Bay Lodge. Management was very friendly and ensured we were informed on the area restaurants. We dined locally and my only wish would be more seafood on the menus. We will return to this lodge on another vacation.

This was the perfect getaway. Such a nice little town without all the hustle of the other beach towns we have stayed at. We were actually able to relax like we haven't in years. Fantastic service, like nothing I have ever experienced even in the nicest hotels. Beautiful views all around. This will a place we will go to often.

Our 3 day stay was excellent indeed. The rooms are very clean and well taken care of. The bed was very easy to sleep in, with the clean silky sheet and the added blankets. The spa tub was a great way to start or finish the day. Each day we were given 3 convenience food items for our free breakfast. If you love movies popcorn and candy this is also free with a 2 movies per room and unlimited returns. Kayaking on in the bay is also free and a good way to relax in natural surroundings. Shopping around the area is some what limited, so expect to travel a few extra miles. The local winery was a nice place to stop off for a little taste of your favorite wine or check out their wine tasting! Then choose your beach, go north 3 miles of south 5-6 miles. There is a state park near by with horse back riding we will have to check out next time. Over all it was clean, relaxing, and fun!

More ammenities than we expected. The room was better, the tub was fabulous, and the dock is great to sit on and relax. Cant wait to go back!

We always enjoy our trips to Wheeler Lodge. This time we took a kayak trip from the lodge to Nehalem for lunch. Last kayak trip we got engaged! The kayaks being free for 2 nights of lodging really helps so we don't have to bring our own. We recommend the Necky Gannet kayaks they offer because they are very stable for beginners. The Honeymoon Suite #7 is an awesome room with it's tub for 2 and a private covered porch which we take advantage of. We think the Glory Suite is the best value because it has a separate Tub room that is closed off from the bedroom which for me doubles as an art room when I get up in the night and do pastels while she sleeps. Our favorite is really the Sunset Room where we first stayed 6 years ago and since Pat & Tracy, a delightful couple have been there, all the rooms and service have increased dramatically. We love to stay there and will be back ASAP.

We have stayed here numerous times, our favorite suite is the Glory Suite. This suite has a little kitchen area, and a "sun room" which is a little seperate sitting area and spa tub is located there. Everything is clean, clean, clean!!! It is the perfect location for a romantic getaway, to fishing & crabbing. Pat and Tracy are awesome hosts! Extremely friendly, & they understand that when we are there we like our privacy and they respect that 100%. We can't wait to return, the rates are a little bit less expensive in the off season, & since we live only a couple hours away we take full advantage of it! If you like quaint, cozy and comfortable you will love it here!

I hesitate to give a good review because Wheeler on the Bay will become overcrowded with tourists! The place is outstanding in every way. We didn't try Rising Star and perhaps that is the best restaurant for dinner, otherwise dinner dining was lacking.

I picked Wheeler on the Bay Lodge over the internet for a night stay with my sisters who were coming from the Kansas City area, they have never been to the Pacific Northwest. I drove from Portland to Astoria then down the coast and arrived late to Wheeler on the Bay Lodge...we were pleasantly suprised. Pat and Tracy were very friendly, the room was VERY CLEAN and the beds were more than comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful one night stay and I will spread the word to people coming to the beach about Wheeler on the Bay Lodge.

The Wheeler on the Bay was ADORABLE! The couple that run it is soooo sweet and the rooms are cozy, thoughtfully decorated, and WELL STOCKED. We loved the view from the dock, as well as the tub in our room! Will definitely be back and will definitely send friends there! Thanks

This wonderful lodge just keeps getting better and better. I stayed down here in April 2011 by myself and the ambience of a fireplace and free movies was delightful in taking off the chill, damp air. This trip, I brought my husband and another couple. We were delighted in the service, the quality and value for the money. Its obvious that the new owners are putting in lots of small details and accessories to make it a more pleasant stay. Thank you

The Sunset room was very nice. We would have liked to have known that breakfast was a microwaveable meal. But it turned out to be fine and worked into our schedule.

This was our final stop over on a 6 week trip starting and finishing in Seattle via Utah National Parks and San Diego. A very pleasant surprise ! If we'd known we would have arranged it so that we had at least another night here.

This was a great place to relax and enjoy a quaint scenic area. The service was great with a lot of extra little touches. If we come back to this area, we would definitely stay here again.

Wheeler the the Bay Lodge is truly a gem! The facilities were clean, quaint and comfortable - an extremely homey atmosphere; not hotelish/motelish in the least. The service was very friendly and courteous. The setting was relaxing and peaceful. Breakfast was perfect. Free rental DVD's with complimentary popcorn, soda to go with. Value was very, very good. We were a party of 10 who had just completed the Portland to Coast Relay - 130 miles - and it was so nice to crash at a place that felt more like we were staying at a friends house, then a place of lodging. We were much impressed and will definitely be back!

A laid back stay, hospitality was awesome, at dusk the herons came in for their nightly feeding which made for great pictures. I have already recommended Wheeler on the Bay to our friends and co-workers.

Loved the movie selections, the extra goodies - popcorn, candy, etc and the casual environment. Fully intend to come next year. Only complaint was the use of plywood instead of box springs in the "Taste of Tuscany" room. This is why I gave it a two bubble rating instead of the three or four this nice big room otherwise desired. Hopefully this is temporary situation.

Nice dock to sit on and watch day end. room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Amenities were silly - most minimal gas fireplace, most minimal outside patio, etc. Next time will seach on slow food/slow travel sites and look for more interesting places to stay and dine.

When we drove up to the Wheeler on the Bay Lodge late at night, we were a bit surprised by the rustic appearance of the exterior. It did not look at all like the pictures and initially appeared rustic, and somewhat run down. We were very pleasantly surprised when we were escorted to our room to see a tastefully decorated, absolutely impeccable room! It was spotless. The mirrors and metal surfaces gleamed. The shower and bathroom was fresh, aired out, well appointed & squeaky clean. The memory foam mattress was comfortable in a strange way but perhaps better for those with a smaller size. Paint was fresh and paintings were by local artists and appropriately themed. Linens were high quality,pressed and luxurious. Breakfast was provided by the inkeepers but not in the standard way. At check in we were asked to pick out 3 choices for breakfast which we would then take to our room and prepare ourselves.Our choices included: sausage and egg muffin, bear claw type pastries, cereal or oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt. The room was equipped with a spotless coffee maker, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as M&M's and some Peppermint patties. It also had a sink, dish detergent, dishes, microwave, refrigerator, and all of the things you need to heat up your own instant meal. Our inkeeper was very attentive and at check out he made sure to ask if anything needed repairs, etc.etc. He was genuinely interested in the quality of our stay. In the daylight, we could see the bay and realized that despite our initial concern, that the inn is beautifully situated on an inlet filled with plenty of wildlife and lovely scenery. Our stay was pleasant, quiet, and comfortable, and this was the cleanest inn or hotel room that I have ever been in, and that includes 5 star hotels in Europe. We will definitely go back if we're in the area.

The hostess is definitely there to please. They are always ready to help in one way or another. The views are beautiful and the convenience to the dock for fishing or kayaking is super.

We really enjoyed our stay. It's a small hotel right on the bay water, with adirondack chairs and a nice deck for watching the sunset. The inkeepers were friendly and thorough, and the room was in great shape. Lots of little touches made it feel more like a b&b. Within a block of 2 great restaurants. We liked the semi-private deck right outside our room.

Friendly, family run lodging. Located in small town on beautiful bay. Nice and quiet. If relaxing and/or fishing is your thing, this is the place.

I was very impressed with the hospitality, character of the place and the charm and cleanliness of the room itself. It has been a long time since I have been treated this well. I will return to this place and I will recommend it to my friends as well !!!

We were pleasantly surprised by the gracious and welcoming hosts. This was perfect lodging for my family, including my three and one year old. We will return for another visit.

I was taken back by the beautiful view of the marina and the free kayaking was really a selling point for me. The service provided by the Inn Keepers was impeccable. They were very sweet and family oriented. Both Pat and Tracy seemed like people who would bend over backwards for their clientele, which is truly and experience so rarely afforded. Next time I'm in the area I will most certainly stay there again. However, if I had to pick anything that needs improvement I would suggest a more comfortable bed, as I am light sleeper and can't sleep well on firm mattresses such as this one, and it would have been nice to have a larger, more modern tv. I felt like this tv was too small and far away from the viewing area. Also, the color was slightly off. Maybe I'm just used to the luxury of hd tvs.

What a great place for family and friends to relax and have a great time. The view is fantastic and the hosts are more than welcoming. We will be back!

My mother, sister, and I stayed at Wheeler for one night while driving along the Oregon coast- what a beautiful and quaint location. We sat on their dock in the evening drinking local wine, eating local cheese and fruit, and had a GREAT time. There is lots to do within 15 minutes of the area- several parks, wineries, and towns and beaches.

We were looking for a quiet, romantic place to stay for our Anniversary when I ran across Wheeler On The Bay. I loved that the rooms had fireplaces and spa tubs. I read the reviews and decided to book based on the glowing reviews of service and cleanliness. When we arrived Pat was friendly, checked us in quickly and explained how things work. He then took us to the EXTENSIVE Video Room and loaded us up with movies, popcorn, candy and sodas. We all walked to our room, with Pat helping to carry some of our things. We had elected to stay in the Ebb Tide room and it was delightful! In fact I would say the pictures of the place on the website do not do it justice. The entire place is charming and the view is gorgeous! We stayed Friday-Monday taking advantage of the kayaking, fireplace, spa tub & video room often! Pat and Tracy were so friendly and kind, the view is so amazing (and only 5 min to the beach), the town is adorable with several good restaurants withing a 2-5 minute walk and the room was perfect! We WILL be returning with (and without) our kids! I would 100% recommend Wheeler On The Bay to anyone! Thank you to the Scribners for a WONDERFUL romantic getaway!

The view, the hospitality and the private tub spa cant be beat, especially for the price. We were referred by friends and we wouldnt hesitate to go back.

This is a great little hotel in a quaint little town. We had never been to Wheeler before, and we were very happy with the hotel and especially with the service. The owners are very helpful and were great with our small children. The room was nice - the sunken, jetted tub was great! Having a kitchenette is also very convenient. The bayfront is a lovely place to watch the sunset. While the breakfast items that come with the room are nothing fancy, it is still nice to have food available when traveling with children. And there are restaurants very nearby for those who prefer a larger breakfast. All in all, it was a great visit, and we'll definitely be back!

This was a perfect, simple place for my family (husband and two young kids). The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. It was peaceful and a great value! Stay in Room 7 if you get a chance-- nice view and has its own porch overlooking the water. We will be back.

Our family of 5 stayed here at the end of July while traveling down the Oregon Coast. The hosts were amazing and offered a lot of little extras like free popcorn an sodas, movie and game rentals, and a selection of coffees, teas, and other snacks in the room. My kids loved picking out their breakfast goodies and said it felt like being at home. Some of the local restaurants also offer a discount on the meal for staying at the Wheeler. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

We loved the views! The owners made us feel so welcome. They give you a sack breakfast, and there were so many little touches in the room. Loved sitting out on there private dock, and food is only a walk across the street. Wheeler is such a cute little town, and the people are so friendly. We can't wait to go back!

Tracy made our 3 day stay so enjoyable from start to finish. She is so friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. If your looking for a lot of attention she's there, if you prefer privicy she will see to that also. A great place to stay; we will return.

The brown-bag-breakfast was the only negative, but there was an absolutely wonderful breakfast place in Manzanita (not far away) that was worth every penny -- Wanda's. Hopefully Wheeler on the Bay Lodge will be able to offer a discount there soon! Tracy was so helpful & charming! The room we had was wonderful -- best stocked room ever!! And the location was very beautiful & restful.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the homey little suite and the breathtaking view of the bay and wildlife. The breakfast set up(pick 3 items the night before to take to your room for the next morning) is smart for people who would like a healthy breakfast on the go, and the movie/candy scene (free with the room) delighted our kids. We didn't get to go Kayaking, but we certainly will next time. A really nice restaurant next door, very accomodating and friendly owners, and the stay was complete. No palace but good value for the price, and everything we needed at hand. highly recommended.

Me and my husband stayed at WOTB for a week and it was a great place to stay. The rooms are super clean and you get lots of little extras with your room. The owners are very friendly, helpful and nice. We are thinking of going back in the fall and seeing if we can get a some friends to go with us. Wheeler is a small town but nice town and you can travel a few miles and you are on the beach and a larger town. Thank you Pat and Tracy for the great job you are doing.

We went to Wheeler on the Bay for our honeymoon and had an amazing time! The owners are wonderful hosts and you feel truly welcome. There are so many little touches that made the stay extra special. I can't imagine getting nicer accommodations or better treatment at any establishment, and WOTB is very reasonably priced for the luxurious get-away that it provides! We loved dining, hiking, walking on the beach, driving along the coast, spending a day in Seaside...there is also free Kayaking! I highly recommend Wheeler on the Bay, especially for a romantic trip.

The owners are very friendly and the room was spotless. It was a slow weekend so we had the place mostly to ourselves. A very relaxing weekend with the dock and water, free movies for the room and speedy internet service. I'd c ome back for sure.

Nice room and view. Dining in the area was limited. We were hoping for more water sports in the area - kayaking was limited, no sailing or paddle boarding, no boats to rent. Nice place to stay, but a long ways from anything to be worth repeating.

We needed a place close to our parents in rehab. and this place met all of our needs, plus. The complimentary breakfast (so many choices) and free movies with popcorn and drink was great; made us feel like kids again. We would highly recommend it.

We loved Wheeler on the Bay Lodge! Wheeler is such a cute little town and EVERY single person we encountered there were so nice and friendly! Pat and Tracy made us feel like we were at home and were very attentive. They went out of their way to make sure our anniversary weekend was relaxing, romantic, and fun. The Glory Suite has a GORGEOUS view--you don't even need to get out of bed to enjoy the beautiful views of the Nehalem River and Neahkahnkie Mountain!! It was so nice to take a litte soak in the jacuzzi tub every night while sipping on the sparkling cider Tracy surprised us with in our fridge. So sweet of her! The acitivites the lodge offers for FREE were awesome! Free movies to choose from (even new ones!) and as much soda and snackies you want. We were so excited for the opportunity to use the kayaks anytime we wanted for free with our minimum 2 night stay. Thanks to Pat for the words of encouragement! Getting into a kayak is kind of scary!! :) There are several restaurants and cafes next to and across the street from the lodge to enjoy breakfast (unless you'd like to eat breakfast in your room from the choices on the lodge's list), lunch, and dinner--all with a great view! We WILL be back and are looking forward to it!

A perfect 3 days, beautiful view, comfortable bed, lots of extras-two kinds of tea for rainy afternoons, wine glasses, DVDs, plush towels- and the elk were an amazing hit.

Room was very, very clean. Inn hostess was very helpful and nice. We have been staying here for 12 years or more and love it. They area is not full of tourists, local people are so friendly. Will stay here again. Rooms are so cute.

Service was outstanding. Huge selection of free movies. Comfortable beds. Free coffee, hot chocolote, apple cider, tea in room. Wheeler is cute town with lots of antique shops. They did a great job converting a motel into a B&B. Breakfast is very simple and you take the food to your room the night before. Would have enjoyed a proper sit down breakfast in a common area.

What a terrific lodge! We've stayed at many places on the Oregon coast, and nothing beats Wheeler on the Bay. Great location (yes, it really is on the bay), quiet and delightful in every way. Hosts Pat and Tracy love what they do and it shows. They go out of their way to please everyone and make you feel at home. They give you a nice continental breakfast each day with six options to choose from. The room had a fireplace, DVD player and its own deck. If you want to watch a movie, DVDs are free, along with popcorn and soda. Best of all, my wife and I got to kayak for free since we stayed two nights. We paddled to the island across the way and had a terrific time thanks to Pat's advice. I'm looking forward to staying here again. I don't think I'd stay anywhere else on the coast. I have thoroughly enjoyed three stays at Wheeler Lodge over the past six years and will do so again on my next visit to the area. The site is outstanding in natural beauty and charm and the new hosts couldn't be more accommodating and friendly; they're doing their best to provide every need one could wish and are upgrading and improving somewhat old-fashioned facilities. The little town and the mid north Coast area are a delight; dining out is rather limited but good solid food is provided at a number of places nearby. My wife and I recommend Wheeler Lodge heartily and we didn't even see any elk or seals this time.

Docking our boat where we stayed was VERY conveniant!!! Also having the boat launch next door was a great plus! A very wonderful quiet place to be, considering it was spring break!! It was great. Thanks

This was our second stay at the Wheeler On The Bay Lodge. We were even more impressed with the room, the service, the views, the wildlife and the innkeepers than we were the first time. Service is outstanding! Pat and Tracy make sure your stay is the best and are constantly available for information or anything you might need in your room. The weekend we happened to be there was also when a large herd of elk decided to visit the island we could see right from our room. We spent all three days of our visit watching them, along with the birds and waterfowl, sea otters and seals. It was a great trip! Thank you Pat and Tracy - we'll be back soon!!

Pat and Tracy are awesome hosts. We have stayed there twice now and had a great experience both times. Wheeler is small, but you are only 20 minutes from Seaside or Tillamook. However, you don't really need to go anywhere with great food and antique shops right across the street. We will definately stay there again!!

Although there was some rain, there was still a lot to do in the area for my 11 year old.

The people, the service, the atmosphere was awesome. You will not find a better place to stay around here. And the prices were the same if not cheaper than all the other nearby places, but with 5 star service. You will not regret your stay!

What a wonderful place to relax and leave your everday stress behind. Pat and Tracy were very helpful and nice. It felt like home, but better. Loved the Spa Tub in our room and loved the view. It is located close to many other points of difference in the area (like the Tillamook cheese factory and the Tillamook Air museum). Plan to tell my friends and go back there again soon.

We hardly left our room! We are in love with this little place! The location is beautiful, right on the bay and so quiet yet easy driving distance to entertaining destinations. The inn keepers are the best!! All they want is for people to enjoy their stay! Always helpful and very kind and friendly. This is a family operation where you really feel like part of the family! The rooms are so cozy and the price for a spa room can not be beaten on the Oregon Coast! They are making updates so if you have stayed before it is worth a return trip!!

Although Wheeler isn't right on the ocean, it's a wonderful beach get-a-way. Close to Nehalem Bay State Park with a great beach, good kayaking and crabbing on the bay, Manzanita and all it's little shops is close by and if you're a birder, check out the sewage ponds. The room was comfortable and has a gas fireplace, the beds were really comfortable, they provide breakfast and free kayaks with a two-night stay, but there's one drawback - no tub in the room we were in. Other than that, I say this is a good place to stay.

My wife and I stayed three nights, for Valentines. I picked the SUNSET room based off previous reviews, and it exceeded my expectation for 'romance'. The lodge is located in a tiny, seclude Oregon Coastal town of less than 400 people. And it is not ideally located if you are looking for "big city" shopping. Good thing for us that we wanted to get away from all that. The owners are about the nicest couple we've ever met at a Bed and Breakfast. She was so kind, thoughtful and helpful throughout our entire stay. The SPA tub in room was lovely so great; it rained every night ~ which provided a WONDERFUL experience, soaking up the HOT while listening to the Rain outside. (and it was COLD out there) We took a tour of many of the other rooms at the Wheeler lodge, and I'm looking forward to our next stay when we bring the kids. OR NOT! John McDaniel II

My boyfriend and I stayed here two days and love the homy feeling Pat and Tracy give this place and talk about going 100% you just can't beat the treatmentTracy gives she has got to be the best I have seen and I have traveled the world.The roomes are squeeky clean everywhere too.This is a must place to stay if you anywhere near this area. My wife and I stayed in the sunset room. It was very relaxing, she loved the tub. It basically was a very nicely decorated studio type suite with an awesome tub in it. Its a quiet location, right on the river and it was peaceful waking up to the sight of the river right outside our door. They put a lot of goodies in your room like coffee, candy and mints. You get to pick 3 breakfast items every morning and you take it to your room at night for the next morning. My favorite item was there in plenty, hot cocoa ... mmm yumm... it was right there in the room. The free movie rental is cool, there is a "video store" which is basically a family lifelong collection of movies, we are talking probably a few hundred movies to choose from all layed out like being at a rental store. Was pretty neat!...best part is they were free to watch. The food around town, not too sure about we went to one place which was next door and it wasnt too impressive, was just average food. But all in all loved the place and the hosts are very friendly and take pride in the place. I highly recommend this place. We are planning on staying again for sure!

Tracy and Pat take an incredible amount of pride in their business and it shows. The rooms are squeaky clean and any need is immediately attended to. We often stay for more than a week at a time and we are still treated with fresh enthusiasm at each visit.

Our stay was everything we hoped it would be. The room was exactly what a bed and breakfast should be. It was warm and inviting with a beautiful quilt on the bed rather than a clinical mass produced bedspread. It was storming during our visit so we didn't use our private deck but the view was great for storm watching. The Innkeepers were very helpful and friendly. They gave us the option of daily maid service on checkin, we opted to decline since we prefer not to be bothered and we got exactly what we wanted. The room was clean and fully stocked with towels toiletries, even dishes so we didn't need to ask for anything. The room was a terrific value and if you are looking for a nice relaxing getaway I highly recomend it. For entertainment the front desk had movies, books and games available to borrow free of charge. Including new releases. Wheeler is in a nice central location on the coast for traveling both north and south for shopping or sightseeing, and we did just that. The only less than outstanding rating I gave was for dining and that is simply because the dining is not onsite and we dinned at various places along our travel so it really has no bearing on the lodge.

It was a wonderful place to stay, and we'll be back. One comment for repair: some of the deck boards on the nearest dock are getting pretty soft and need replacement before someone breaks through.

The "Bay" never disappoints. It's clean, roomy and comfortable, and best of all, an amazing value.

My Fiance and I stayed 2 nights and I could not have asked for a better experience. The price was very reasonable (great actually), the help friendly and the room was cute, clean and romantic. We definately intend to return.

I was thrilled to book a very inexpensive last-minute stay here, excited about the fireplace, spa, TV, & breakfast included. Having the spa tub in-room was nice, but everything else was on the discount side of my B&B experiences. Cheap carpet, plastic flowers, small TV, small fireplace, and the "breakfast" is a pick of instant oatmeal and other pre-packaged gas-station finds. Overall, a discount/economy version of the cozy & romantic getaway I'd hoped for. The staff is very kind and friendly, and it is clean. As a cash-strapped pair of college newlyweds, we would have been grateful to find it...it's just been a long time since then. ;)

This place is my all time favorite. The owners / Inn keepers are very hospitable, and will make every effort to assist you with your needs. The rooms are very well maintained and clean. You cant beat the view or ambiance Wheeler has offer. The river is packed full of fish or you can head out to the ocean, a guide will come to pick you up right at your room/dock. My girlfriend and I tried scuba diving up there this time. The diving was not the best (due to a storm) but the owners were very helpful in attempting to find us another local dive site. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely stay here again...

The location by the water was very pleasant. They have a very strange breakfast arrangement. You get to pick 3 items and take them to your room. The room was pleasant, but the bed was so high it was hard to climb into if you were short. My husband loved the room. I thought it was OK, but not one of my absolute favorites.

So thrilled with the room and location, was just perfect, will be going there again, that is for sure!

The innkeepers are very helpful and welcoming and the rooms are warm and personable. Lots of homey stuff. The view of Nehalem Bay is stunning!

We have stayed at Wheeler on the Bay twice in the last 3 years. Both visits were very enjoyable and the Innkeepers are very friendly. We plan on visiting again in the next year or 2.

We love the big huge jacuzzi tub in the room! It was nice to be able to sit in it and have a beautiful, watch movies, or have complete privacy. We loved sitting on the back deck drinking coffee. The service was very nice -- the people were very friendly and attentive. Thank you!

I was in the otter room. It did not have a closet or easy place to hang clothes other than 3 hooks. Other than that it was fine. Wonderful service and solid value. I expect a clean room and yours was. The area dining and all of your little things to make our stay nice were great.

My husband and I recently stayed in the "Glory Suite" at Wheeler on the Bay Lodge. It was wonderful. We had our own little solarium with huge spa tub that was incredibly relaxing! Great views of the river from both our bedroom and the solarium. The room also has a small refrigerator, coffeemaker, and microwave. They stocked us with plenty of snacks, like free microwave popcorn and pop. The breakfast is not a hot cooked meal but they offer fruit, instant oatmeal, breakfast bars, etc., which was just fine with us. They are very clear during the reservations process so we knew exactly what to expect. There is a wonderful little cafe "Rising Star" a 5 min walk just across the road anyways. Pat and Tracy are very warm and friendly and responded to any request we had. It was soooo peaceful to sit on the deck and watch the river wildlife. We literally saw fish jumping out of the water. We'll definitely return.

Our stay was very comfortable. The view was great. All the staff were very helpful. We plan to return in the future.

Last year our car stayed park, this year, due to lots of rain, we took our car out once. We managed to kayak everyday, ate in town at the Tsunami (delish), played games with friends AND did some watercolor painting in the spa room that overlooked the water-perfect mini art studio. We can't wait to go back. Having a room with a little kitchenette was great and we had enough room to play games with our friends that had the room next door. They were so happy we told them about Wheeler on the Bay. Next year, we may take 3 rooms!

I decided to head down the OR coast for the Labor Day weekend in order to unwind and relax. I initially chose Wheeler on the Bay Lodge because of their free kayak rental special. I ended up loving this place because the service is pretty great. I called a few days before my arrival and inquired about getting a larger room. Although all rooms were booked, they called around and were able to find a group that was willing to switch with us. They go the extra mile, which I really appreciated. The room was great. The free snacks and breakfast items were also very nice. Being able to grab a kayak and go whenever was also great. The place is situated midway between Tillamook and Seaside, which is nice because it was easy to head down and spend the day a Rockaway Beach and then go back up and have dinner in Seaside. Being patrons of the lodge also got us discounts at the restaurants across the street. I will definitely patron Wheeler on the Bay Lodge again.

We stayed one night during our honeymoon. The view was beautiful, our room looked out on the water. The room was comfortable and I really enjoyed the jetted tub. The room was stocked with wine glasses, dishes, mini fridge and microwave so we could manage to stay in for the night. The decor was a little dated and mismatched in my opinion but we all have different tastes. The owners were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The dining consisted of our choice 3 items from a small selection of items for breakfast: yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, fruit, danish (all prepackaged in small sizes) I wouldn't call it a bed and breakfast- we aren't big eaters but ate out for breakfast an hour after checking out. The location was a little disapointing we were hungry when we arrived at 215pm on a Monday and 5 restuarants in the near vacinity were all closed. As far as value was concerned i was happy with it, but as our week progressed and I compared it to other locations I feel like we overpaid. In the off season I would go back but summer rates were to high for what we got out of it.

Wheeler on the Bay is a great place with amaizng hospitality, so friendly it's almost like staying with family. The price is excellent, free movies and breakfast, many rooms have spas and fireplaces in them, with beautiful views of the bay! You can go kayaking and crabbing, shopping and dining all close by on foot!

Booked this room as a last minute getaway with my wife. Staff is very friendly and kind. Our room was on the end, facing the bay and had a nice view. Main problem was a lack of privacy. The door to the room was a large sliding glass door with vertical blinds that were broken and didn't close all the way - leaving room for peeking in. Also, walls were paper thin and we could hear the TV loudly in the room next door. Decor was cheesy and overdone. 4 miles up the road is Manzanita with tons of vacation homes at a better value. Again, nice folks running the place - just not the best value around.

My husband and I had the most relaxing vacation at Wheeler on the Bay. We parked our car, unloaded our things, took down our kayak and stayed for unbelievable sunsets, cozy room, gracious hosts, and wildlife watching. We took our kayak out sometimes twice a day. The dock was right outside our room. We walked the little town. Found places to eat (breakfast was provided) and felt relaxed.

Pat and Tracy certainly go the extra mile to make visitors feel welcome. The "little extras" like free movies, free treats, and their genuine concern for our comfort made our 2 night stay one we will cherish for a long time.

What relief!, When our son told us that they were getting Married and that her family was going to take advantage of the vacation they had been planning for a year on the Oregon coast and have a wedding on the beach. I feared the worst in what it was going to cost me to get space for 10 people from the groom's side of the family. My wife found Wheeler on the Bay and it was an answer to prayer. Not only was this the best value we could find in 100 miles, Pat and Tracy went out of their way to make sure that we had a great stay. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters (sleeps 10), and while the stairs were a little steep for Mom, it just added to the coastal charm that is present in each room. Every thing was clean and fresh, and the movie selections provided distraction when needed. If we come to the Oregon Coast again, we know where we want to stay for sure. Be sure and take advantage of the kayaks! What and Awesome trip! Thanks you Pat and Tracy!

Spotless accommodations located on a scenic bay. Owners go out of their way to please you. Very comfortable sleeping in this sleepy little town. Would revisit!

What a pleasant surprise! I had never been to Wheeler and didn't know what to expect. Tracy and Pat make you feel like a very special part of family. The rooms are spotless and cosy. Very comfortable beds and quiet. When they found out it was my friends birthday, they put a couple of special touches in the room. We had a free movie rental and I doubt we could have found anything half as nice for the very reasonable price. We had a great stay and will definitely be back. Didn't eat there, so I can't rate the dining but everything else was outstanding.

Everything was so nice and quiet, with nothing but smiles and care. We will be back often.
