This picture in front of the Inn is taken last January an hour before we went fishing for steelhead from a drift boat.
Just before we remodeled the Westroom bath we stumbled upon this faucet from a Victorian house of 1883 in Portland in one of the hardware stores dealing in antiquities.
The bedroom of the River Otter cabin has it's own bathroom with shower and a comfortable queen bed. It also has a rocker chair in front of French doors overlooking the river. An excellent place to read the morning paper or a good book.
Private and secluded, 50 feet from the rivers edge with a 1200 feet gravel bar in front of the Inn and 460 feet of river frontage, the McKenzie River Inn is an oasis for tranquility and rest, for fishing, relaxing or romantic getaway!

The two waterfalls are connected by a loop trail, which also connects to the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail. The Sahlie Falls viewpoint is wheelchair accessible.
The bathroom of the Atrium Suite features a walk in shower that is wheelchair accessible and a large jacuzzi with powerful jets that really relaxes after that long hike.
Clear Lake is fed by snow run-off that passes through miles of volcanic rock, coming into the lake virtually pure. It is estimated that it takes about ten years for the snow and glacier water from the Sisters to percolate through the volcanic rock to perk up in Clear Lake as springs. And being a few degrees above freezing, it doesn't harbor much in the way of algae. A hike around the north end of the lake brings you to this treasure: Great Springs, where the clear water just flows out of the rock, to the delight of the butterflies that land there to drink.

We stayed for 2 nights with a groupon deal in the Atrium Suite cabin and everything was absolutely wonderful! The jacuzzi tub was so relaxing and the mornings were serene sitting on our back porch watching the river and the local wildlife. I would highly recommend McKenzie River Inn to everyone and we certainly plan to return!

    December 23, 2012

We had a lovely weekend getaway at the Inn. I loved being in the woods & the fact that they let us bring our dog made us a very happy family...It was very homey & we got great customer service. I loved it & hope to come back in the future.

    Beautiful Location!

    September 03, 2012

Mu 2 sisters and I stayed in the Osprey Cabin which was pretty typical for an older cabin, but the lawn and the river out behind was spectacular. Breakfast, for another $8 each was certainly worth more than the money and the hostess and her children were charming. I would warn you about the sofa-bed in cabin which is in deplorable shape. If we had been staying there for more than one night it would not have worked for me. The innkeepers say children usually sleep there. I was just glad I was not trying to share it with my husband!

    B & B on the River

    July 03, 2012

Ellie welcomed us and was very accommodating. Our view of the river was great. At 8 AM the power went out and there was no water or electricity. As a result we could not use the shower, toilet, blow dryer or curling iron. Without power, Ellie was unable to prepare breakfast. So, we decided to leave a day early. When we gathered up our belongings in the dark, I left a pair of sandals behind. I contacted Ellie later and she said she would send them to me. After two weeks I had not received them and I checked with her again. She said she had been very busy and would send them in the next week.

    Innkeeper Response
Dear guest, so sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction of your stay with us. As you might understand the power outage, from 8AM to 9.30AM, was beyond our control, but understand it might have caused some difficulties. We did find the sandals you left behind the door. As I informed you that we have been solidly booked I do apologize not to have been able to send the sandals back to you sooner. Although our cancellation policy clearly states that you were within the 20 days of no refund, I do hope you appreciate it that I was able to convince the owners not to charge you for the second night for your inconvenience. However I do regret to find your concerns posted publicly and would have preferred you would have addressed it to me personally. With regards,

    Quiet and Realxing

    March 07, 2012

If you want a place to fish and a hearty breakfast to start the day this is the place to go. Guide Service is in house. Has an Old World charm about it with friendly Inn Keepers. Have stayed there multiple times and have enjoyed myself. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere right on the River. Can not say enough good things about it.
