We only spent one night and wished we had time for more. Beautiful, old house with scrumptious breakfast.

A beautiful place to stay, great attention to detail, fascinating furniture and objects all around... Hosts are very welcoming, ready to talk about the house and the city, and breakfast was superb. Really enjoyed the chance to mingle with other guests and hosts...that's why we choose B&B's and not impersonal hotels... A find!

Absolutely beautiful Bed & Breakfast! It was much bigger than expected, and really felt like staying in an old Victorian home. The innkeepers and all the staff were very friendly and informative. We would definitely stay there again!

This B & B is lovely but not the place for a romantic get away. The innkeepers are nice but their schedule is inflexible. There is only one time for breakfast: 8:30 (or 9:00 on weekends). If you want to go out for weekend entertainment, there is no chance of sleeping in if you want to eat. Check out is 11:00 which is simply too early and unexpected. Be prepared to sit together with everyone else at the inn for breakfast whether you feel like be conversational or not.

    Innkeeper Response
While we orient to a single-seating at 8:30am Monday - Thrusday morning, and 9am on Sudnays, we also tell guests that we can offer a full breakfast a half-hour earlier, a more limited breakfast an hour earlier, and "to go" items before that. Also, if guests wish to come down 30 - 45 mintues later that is also fine. We also offer check-out as late as Noon. Mostly we need time time make up the room for the next check-in.

We loved the Lion and the Rose. Everything was beautifully furnished and decorated, the rooms were large and comfortable, all amenities, the food wonderful, but for us the best part was breakfast. All guests meet in the dining room at 8:30 (9 on Sunday) and eat together at one large table. We heard, and told, great stories, shared sightseeing suggestions, and got to know each other. Steve (innkeeper) joined us when he could. We will certainly go back again.
