Quintessentially Portland and particularly southwest Portland. Lovely room. Bathrooms outstanding. Really enjoyed my stay. Wanted to stay a third night but, alas and not surprisingly, no rooms.

Refreshing to not have to stay in a hotel. Cute little rooms in a quirky house full of delicious pastries and in a good location. Clean, as well.

My wife and I stayed here for a 4-day vacation to Portland. Absolutely the best place to stay if you want to experience SE Portland. We explored all four corners of the city, and even the wine country, but we have to admit that SE is where it's at. Nice staff, lovely homey environment.

My fiancée and I have just had our second stay at the Bluebird Guest House, and we absolutely love it. The house has so much character -- it's such a refreshing relief from cookie-cutter hotel rooms. Yes, it may take getting used to the fact that you're sharing bathrooms down the hall, but honestly, that just makes it feel more like you're staying with family. ;) The rooms are great, it's a creaky old house, so on occasion I felt guilty walking up the creaking stairs in the middle of the night, but, really, that's a non-issue. We love the neighborhood. Coffee? Ice Cream? Amazing Thai street food? Pizza? All just a couple of steps away. And we also appreciate the complimentary fresh (strong) coffee in the morning, as well as the assortment of bagels, muffiins and pastries. But our FAVORITE part of the Bluebird, and the reason we stopped to write this review -- the people! The folks at the Bluebird are friendly, conscientious, knowledgeable, and just all around amazing. We can't state that enough. Special shout-out to both Jess and Francesca for making our stay a cut above.
