5 out of 5A wonderful place to stay!
July 19, 2011
We recently stayed at WildSpring for five nights and cannot say enough good things about it. It is such a peaceful place. We chose this particular inn because of its unique layout and we chose Oregon to escape the Florida heat in the summertime. The cabins, spa, breakfast and grounds were all wonderful and the cool coastal air was a treat. Port Orford has the most beautiful scenery along the Oregon coast, but we were actually surprised how much we enjoyed the restaurants and hiking trails in this little town. WildSpring is simply an outstanding place to visit!

March 28, 2011
WildSpring is a very beautiful property in a fairyland-type woods full of trees, moss and ferns. It is extremely well kept, with not even a piece of mulch from the pathways out of place. The cabins are very nice and charming. The main lodge is a great hang out place full of board games and music, and with a lovely view of the ocean. We loved that there were several choices of Mighty Leaf hot tea available there at all times. The breakfast was very good, and I was happy that there were some low carb/high protein choices available (hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, cheese - but no meat, which was fine.) The rest of my family loved the home baked muffins and french toast casserole. The only small negative things I can say is that our cabin was darker than I prefer. There was one very bright lamp which was good for reading, but no ceiling light, just dim lamps. Also, the flashlight that is attached to the room key is about worthless it's so dim. And, there was almost no place to eat dinner in Port Orford the night we were there, and we were unprepared for that. The first place on our list was out of business, the second place was closed on Sundays, which was the day we were there, and the third place closed at 7:00 p.m. and it was a little after 7:00 when we got there. We ended up going to the grocery store for dinner.
Innkeeper Response
Hi, we're glad you enjoyed WildSpring but so sorry you found the cabin too dim. Did you try the chandelier? It's on a dimmer switch so it can go from quite bright to very romantic. If you had let us know on the intercom, we would have been happy to bring additional lights down for your comfort. And thanks for letting us know about the flashlight. We will check all of them out to make sure they're working properly. They are high end, compact halogen flashlights and should have provided plenty of illumination. And as far as a Sunday restaurant, did you try Redfish? It overlooks Port Orford bay and is amazing. Patrick Zulick is the chef, who used to chef for Thomas Keller at Bouchon in Las Vegas and their food looks like it came from Top Chef. They're open until 9. We know that as a very small town of 1200 people, Port Orford, while beautiful, has its service limits, especially in the winter, which is why we send a link describing all the restaurants here and in Bandon and Gold Beach (half an hour away), their offerings and days/hours of operation in the email confirming your reservation. We hope you'll return and enjoy your stay even more next time.3.2 out of 5WildSprings in winter

December 29, 2010
While this is a lovely facility, it was a bit too quiet and isolated for what we had in mind. This is very much a "retreat" type accommodation with no television, no outside stimulation, not really conducive to sitting and reading. If that is what you are looking for, then this is the ideal place. Unfortunately the weather did not permit sitting out on the deck, which would have be WONDERFUL. Breakfast was outstanding. My feedback should not be viewed as a criticism at all - just a different experience that what we ideally would have wanted.
Innkeeper Response
We are very sorry your stay here did not meet your expectations. We understand we're a different kind of guest experience from the norma B&Bl: Our luxurious cabin suites, built like small homes, are set in a naturally beautiful, parklike five acres...part second growth forest, part ocean-view vistas. Here, guests find peace and quiet, and room enough for solitude if that is their preference. Since none of us has enough time and money for vacations, we go to great lengths to make sure our website is accurate and very clear on what it feels like to stay here. Our reviews are also very consistent on these issues. As far as television, we say in a number of places in our site that our LCD TV/DVD combinations are for playback only and we have a great library of over 500 DVDs in our Guest Hall for free incabin movies. I remember discussing all these issues with you over the phone and am surprised you find these a negative after the fact. As for service, we're at a bit of a loss why you rated us so low. When you arrived, you said you didn't need assistance with your luggage...though Dean went down to the cabin area anyway to see if he could help. We responded to your phone calls immediately, and made dinner reservations for you. We're also sorry the weather was disappointing...we sent the memo.4.6 out of 5Wonderful Winter Retreat
December 24, 2010
I was looking for a quiet, romantic place to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary. WildSpring was that and much more. The rooms were great, service was thoughtful and attentiv, the meals were wonderful and the setting was extraordinary! Enjoying the ocean view under a moonlit sky in the outdoor hot tub was an experience that my wife and I will never forget.
5 out of 5Great nights stay
December 18, 2010
My wife and I checked in late (around 8PM) and it was already pitch black outside. The emailed directions were very clear on what to do and everything went off without a hitch. After getting settled, we decided to check out the grounds (with the included flashlight) and found the main cabin and hot tub. Even though it was late, we decided to spend a few minutes in the hot tub, and oh boy, what a view of the stars and sky on a clear night! Breathtaking doesn't quite cut it. We stayed in cabin one and it was cozy, welcoming small cottage in the great outdoors. The B&B property is very natural and has guest trails running through it (so you don't get lost). The next morning we had a buffet style breakfast at the main cabin and had to leave. All in all a very nice and relaxing nights stay. We would definitely stay there again!
