We recently stayed at WildSpring for five nights and cannot say enough good things about it. It is such a peaceful place. We chose this particular inn because of its unique layout and we chose Oregon to escape the Florida heat in the summertime. The cabins, spa, breakfast and grounds were all wonderful and the cool coastal air was a treat. Port Orford has the most beautiful scenery along the Oregon coast, but we were actually surprised how much we enjoyed the restaurants and hiking trails in this little town. WildSpring is simply an outstanding place to visit!

A lovely 2 night stay. Think a longer visit would be nice to have time to accommodate to the serenity and the peaceful surroundings. Great place to de-stress!

WildSpring is a very beautiful property in a fairyland-type woods full of trees, moss and ferns. It is extremely well kept, with not even a piece of mulch from the pathways out of place. The cabins are very nice and charming. The main lodge is a great hang out place full of board games and music, and with a lovely view of the ocean. We loved that there were several choices of Mighty Leaf hot tea available there at all times. The breakfast was very good, and I was happy that there were some low carb/high protein choices available (hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, cheese - but no meat, which was fine.) The rest of my family loved the home baked muffins and french toast casserole. The only small negative things I can say is that our cabin was darker than I prefer. There was one very bright lamp which was good for reading, but no ceiling light, just dim lamps. Also, the flashlight that is attached to the room key is about worthless it's so dim. And, there was almost no place to eat dinner in Port Orford the night we were there, and we were unprepared for that. The first place on our list was out of business, the second place was closed on Sundays, which was the day we were there, and the third place closed at 7:00 p.m. and it was a little after 7:00 when we got there. We ended up going to the grocery store for dinner.

    Innkeeper Response
Hi, we're glad you enjoyed WildSpring but so sorry you found the cabin too dim. Did you try the chandelier? It's on a dimmer switch so it can go from quite bright to very romantic. If you had let us know on the intercom, we would have been happy to bring additional lights down for your comfort. And thanks for letting us know about the flashlight. We will check all of them out to make sure they're working properly. They are high end, compact halogen flashlights and should have provided plenty of illumination. And as far as a Sunday restaurant, did you try Redfish? It overlooks Port Orford bay and is amazing. Patrick Zulick is the chef, who used to chef for Thomas Keller at Bouchon in Las Vegas and their food looks like it came from Top Chef. They're open until 9. We know that as a very small town of 1200 people, Port Orford, while beautiful, has its service limits, especially in the winter, which is why we send a link describing all the restaurants here and in Bandon and Gold Beach (half an hour away), their offerings and days/hours of operation in the email confirming your reservation. We hope you'll return and enjoy your stay even more next time.
