Mt.Hood Hamlet B&B was perfect! Just what we were looking for to unwind for a weekend. It is situated in a beautiful little valley framed by Mt.Hood which is so close you feel you could touch it. The photos of the rooms don't do it justice, they are tastefully decorated without being over or understated. The amenities are all in perfect condition and they even have wifi! Also, the whole house was spotless including our rooms. I especially enjoyed meeting the proprietors at our delicious homemade breakfast every morning. You don't get that kind of personal interaction at a large chain hotel. They told us about the area and fun things to do as well as a little about themselves. I can't wait to return in summer!

The view was stunning, the food was great, the fireplace was cheery, the jacuzzi tub in my room was heavenly, the company was stimulating and the apple in my welcome basket was scrumptious! It was a perfect three day retreat.

My beau and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent two-stay at this lovely B &B in Parkdale. Our hosts and their staff were gracious, generous and attentive to every conceivable need or want, the setting is picturesque perfect. We stayed in the roomy Cloud Cap room,and woke on a sunny winter morning to an incredible view of Mt. Hood, and on the second morning to freshly falling snow. (I can't credit our great hosts with the perfect weather, but our view certainly made it that much more noteworthy!) After a day of skiing and snow-shoeing, we returned to a relaxing soak in the hot tub and enjoyed a gift basket full of yummy treats. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect and we hope to return soon!

My husband loved our stay at the Mt. Hood Hamlet. It was a very cozy atmosphere, easy to find location, relaxing hot tub, amazing breakfast with great tales from the Inn Keepers, and a phenomenal view of the sunrise on Mt. Hood. If we don't make it back there soon, we'd be taking the place for granted.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is one of the nicest, cleanest and most professionally ran bed and breakfasts we have been to. They have put so many individual touches into each room and the entire facility. Could not recommend it more. Give it a try and enjoy the beautiful area at the base of Mt Hood.

We initially booked our stay as it was close to a weddng we were heading to. Paul and Diane are so thoughtful of every detail fo our needs. They wre very accomodating. The breakfasts were different each day and SCRUMPTIOUS! Loved the fireplace in our CLOUD CAP room. The view of Mt Hood with the fall colors in teh foreground was breathtaking. I wish we had more time to go on the hikes and see the sights that Paul and Diane told us about. The weekend was perfect for us.

View, breakfast, we-fi, view innkeepers, housekeeping, hot-tub, view, ambiance, scenery, beds, everything! was absolutely great.

The room was very comfortable ,clean with a beautiful view of Mt. Hood. Paul and Diane were tremendously accomodating and provided us with a wealth of local information and insight . Their assistance greatly enhanced our vacation. We would highly recommend Mt. Hood Hamlet.

A week ago we had the priviledge of staying at Mt Hood Hamlet B & B. We stayed in the beautiful Orchard Room which also has a gas fireplace which would be cozy on a cool night or in the winter. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was especailly nice with it's two separate sinks in adjoining rooms. Diane and Paul were the perfect hosts. The breakast Diane served in the morning for the eight guests was VERY gourmet with everything home made. You will NOT be disappointed if you stay here as it is close to the wineries and orchards of pears and apples : ) Ed & Tiki from Colorado

The view in the photo is exactly what you see at this New England style B & B. The owners were very welcoming and knowledgeable on the history of the area. This is a perfect place to stay if traveling to or from Hood River and Mt Hood.

We stayed three nights at the Mt. Hood Hamlet B&B and had a wonderful experience. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The view of Mt. Hood from the hall outside the rooms was spectacular. The innkeepers were friendly and very knowledgable about the history of the area as well as what to see and do. Breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. The location is great for visiting the Mt. Hood area.

We spent only one night in this wonderful B&B while showing friends from Texas our wonderful Oregon but wished we could have stayed longer. Rooms, hosts, and breakfast were all outstanding.

The setting for the Mt. Hood Hamlet was quiet and relaxing with a beautiful view of Mt. Hood from our breakfast dining table. Our room was wonderful with king bed, fireplace, jetted tub, microwave & refrigerator. The owners were very friendly and our breakfasts outstanding! We hope to go back soon!

my boyfriend and i stayed for one night. beautiful view, very clean room, breakfast was delicious. however, i think that this B&B is more for "older" people. the whole time i was there i felt like i m at my parents house.... they asked me to put my dogs inside my car while having breakfast (not dog friendly as i though) even though they are very well behaved, also, we were asked not to read the paper while having our breakfast. (?!) so, next time i want to listen what i can and cannot do i ll go stay with my parents-for FREE! would not stay again.

I apologize for our assistant's asking you not to read the paper. However, I do see her point of that being rude to other guests at the table. The question of dogs at the table is another matter. Since we are a licensed facility catering food to the public, we have rules we must follow even if guests do not like them. Our county health inspector does not allow dogs at the table, and sometimes a guest really does not like dogs - let alone eating breakfast with them. Our dog is not allowed at the table when guests are eating. Several B&Bs (including a local one) no longer take dogs, as guests do not consider these factors, thus it is easier to just refuse the dogs in the first place. We still take dogs, but guests need to know there are rules that apply to all public food establishments. We may stop taking dogs, as we have had dogs bathed in the tubs and the dogs have been allowed to dry themselves on the bed skirts which then need to be laundered before the next guests

My wife and I spent to wonderful days at the Mt. Hood Chalet B&B. Paul and Diane have a wonderful B&B with outstanding views. They are great hosts and provide wonderful food. We were there doing a fire on Mt. Hood and Paul kept us aprised of where the fire was and what the Foresty Service was doing with the fire. The rooms are excellent and the location is about 12 miles from Hood River and right on the Hood River Fruit Loop. I would highly recommend. David & Penny Rich

My husband and I just completed a three night stay at the Mt. Hood Hamlet B&B. We have been lodging at B&Bs for over 30 years and we can honestly say that the Mt. Hood Hamlet B&B is the best we have encountered. The house was specifically built to be a B&B so the four bedrooms on the second floor are all spacious, corner rooms with attached baths. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, and fully appointed. The breakfasts are to die for. You cannot get this quality anywhere.... superb, with fabulous meats and home made everything. As if this were not enough, Diane and Paul, the B&B hosts, are about as nice and helpful as you can imagine. They know the Mt. Hood area like the back of their hands and are incredibly knowledgeable about hiking venues, restaurants, and the flora and fauna of the area. If you are going to be in the Mt. Hood or Hood River, Oregon area, you must include a stay here. We cannot say enough good things about this B&B! Jane & Alan, Champaign, IL

We liked being met at the door by "Snowy" the dog and his owner. They were assisting the older guests who arrived just previous to us with their luggage. We thought was very nice of them. These older guests were also new to Oregon (which we weren't) so they spent a good deal of time giving them ideas of where to eat and places to see. We were impressed by this as well. The rooms are very comfortable. The Hamlet was designed as a bed & breakfast so guest rooms are large, with lots of windows with views, and each has their own bathroom! It's quiet (except for being cherry season and what sounded like a gun going off every 30 minutes to scatter birds off the fruit). This didn't bother us because we're from rural Eastern Oregon, and are used to guns going off. The main floor outside hot tub has a spectacular view of Mt Hood. It was clean and well maintained. We'll stay again!

We stayed for 2 days & nights. The innkeepers were friendly; the accomodations were spacious and clean. The food was outstanding.

The rooms were beautifully apponted, and well kept. The Breakfasts were absolutely fantastic. One morning we had Blueberry Sourdough Pancakes with fresh blueberry compote and Vermont maple syrup, served with chicken apple sausage. The hosts were wonderfully courteous and willing to help in any way possible. The gardens are gorgeous and the view of Mt. Hood is fantastic! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a little getaway!

This B and B is exceptional in every way. The rooms (bedrooms and living areas) are large and lovingly decorated. There is a wonderful patio, overlooking a beautiful garden, and with a full view of Mt. Hood. A very peaceful spot for a drink at the end of the day. Innkeepers Diane and Paul, and their assistant, Debbie, are very knowledgeable about the area and are ready with suggestions as needed, but never intrusive. The breakfast is always OUTSTANDING, made to order with any dietary requests and ready when you come down at a prearranged time. Couldn't be better. Inn is well located within minutes of many of the Mt HOod National Forest Trails. 14 miles from Hood River which is a great town.

My friend and I spent 3 days here this summer. The home and garden are just beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Diane can be a little overbearing but not unpleasant. She may need a vacation herself. I would definitely return. Location is good too to get to Mt. Hood, river access, Hood River restaurants. We loved this place overall and will return.

The view of Mt Hood, the room (and bath with jacuzzi), the staff, the fellow guests, the garden,the food ... all superb.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The B&B is located in orchard country east of Mt. Hood. Visible from our window: Mt. Hood; our hosts' large and beautiful flower garden; fields of cherry and pear trees. Our hosts provided us with very useful advice about things to see and do. The breakfasts were delicious. We were close (15-20 minutes) to Hood River, so found lots of nice restaurants for dinners, and had a great time exploring the Columbia River Gorge and surroundings. We were maybe 35-40 minutes from Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, so had no trouble getting there. The weather at the B&B was much nicer during our stay than at Timberline -- sunshine at the B&B, fog/drizzle up on Mt. Hood -- so we were happy to have picked the B&B instead. We did not take advantage of the outside and inside jacuzzi's because we stayed otherwise busy, but these were unexpected attractions. We happened to be there during the cherry picking season (later July) so there were lots to buy within minutes of the B&B. Not far from the B&B are lavendar and alpaca farms. We enjoyed our visits there -- got to speak with the owners of both as we saw and smelled the lavendar and pet the alpacas. Also close by were at last half dozen wineries with tasting rooms. We registered for the B&B during the winter, so got a discount (which we were not expecting), further increasing the value of the stay.

I stayed at the "Hamlet" while attending a local 4-day workshop. I felt very well-treated during my stay. The room was comfortable and extremely clean, and the food was excellent. The garden is spectacular, as is the view from the dining room. I would heartily recommend staying here to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay. The view of Mt Hood is amazing and the gardens at the house are beautiful. Paul and Diane made us feel at home and served up a great breakfast!

The view was amazing of Mt. Hood from our room as from the garden. The food was delicious and plentiful. Paul and Diane were great and friendly hosts. There was a beautiful garden where you could sit and look at Mt. Hood or watch the birds at the feeders or simply read. The bedroom was very clean and spacious, and I sat in the well-appointed living room which faced the garden, reading.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend away from the kiddies. Mt. Hood Hamlet was fantastic! The owners, Diane and Paul, were gracious and friendly but not intrusive. The breakfast was abundant and delicious, and the room was perfectly appointed, clean, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved the gardens with a spectacular view of Mt. Hood, where we enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine and some much needed r&r.

We stayed at the Mt Hood Hamlet B&B June 15th and 16th in the Cloud Cap Room. The room was already a 5, but the view from it of Mt. Hood was magnificient. Diane and Paul were great hosts and very helpful. My wife and I both agreeded that it was the best B&B that we have ever stayed in.

Very clean. Beautiful view. Breakfasts varied and delicious. Everything was well maintained even the garden. Our Paul and Dianne were most knowledgable, guiding us to points of interest for everyone in our party of five, ages 14 to 70. No detail was overlooked. Innkeepers Paul and Diane were great and very helpful and friendly. Both breakfasts were delicious. We slept with the drapes open to enjoy an awesome view of Mt. Hood from the bed when we awoke. Very nice B&B overall. Only negatives and they were minor....toilet was very weak, house phone was outside our door and ringer couldn't be turned off, and wifi did not work well if at all. But it's a very nice B&B with a terrific couple running it.

Diane and Paul run a very nice B&B with spectacular views of Mt. Hood. This is the second time we've stayed at the Mt. Hood Hamlet and have had wonderful experiences each time. It is impeccably maintained with really nice interior decorations. We love the fancy self-service coffee/tea/hot chocolate maker and have enjoyed really nice breakfasts each time. The B&B is very nicely situated near Mt. Hood with easy access to the skiing. Highly recommended.

Mt Hood Hamlet is a beautiful and comfortable home with impeccably clean rooms and tasty breakfasts. The inn-keepers went above and beyond to acquaint us with the area. We went for a ski trip this time but we're planning to return for a summer stay sometime in the future.

The Mt. Hood Hamlet was truly wonderful, exceeding any expectations. I would refer this b&b to anyone visiting the area, and would stay there again. Diane and Paul were delightful hosts full of information and very hospitable. I think that they made the visit more enjoyable than I would have ever expected.

Diane and Paul are the best host you could imagine. They make you feel special and the B & B is so wonderful. We had a wonderful time on our visit just recently from the view of Mt. This is the kind of place you hope to find but rarely do. The hosts, Paul and Diane Romans, offer wonderful hospitality as well as a traditional, comfortable, elegant but never over-decorated home. Everything is immaculate and beautifully maintained, including a great hot tub. The spectacular views of Mount Hood are a bonus. The location is good for those who enjoy America's countryside. We look forward to a return visit.

My friend and I were visiting the area from Wales (UK) in July. I do not normally write reviews, but I had to for Mt Hood Hamlet. I have visited many B&Bs over the last 30 years, and in my opinion, this one is the best I have ever stayed at! The hospitality, rooms, breakfast, the view and 'Snowy' were all fabulous. Only wished we could have stayed with longer. Hope to be back next year.

My daughter was getting married at a venue very close to the B&B and in our research we found Mt. Hood Hamlet. My wife and I and close friends from California and Virginia booked most of the rooms for the weekend and all of us were truly iimpressed with the beauty of the location, comfort and exceptional cleanliness of the premises, the outstanding breakfasts and graciousness of Paul and Diane Romans. We travel all over the world, year in and year out, and would rate this among the top B&B's. If you are traveling to this area, do yourself a favor and stay with the Romans.

We spent 3 weeks in Oregon and Northern CA, staying exclusively at B&Bs and Inns. The was one of the best experiences that we've ever had. The excellent advice that the hosts shared with us was invaluable in helping us to see the best of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge in the limited time that we had. Their concerns about meeting our every need and expectation was awesome. Can't say enough good things about Mt. Hood Hamlet B&B!

We stayed at the Mt Hood Hamlet in April, 2009 to celebrate our wedding anniversary, Our hosts were excellant; informative and personable. The breakfasts were really, really delicious. The grounds are beautiful and the care to the Inn and grounds is much evident. Close to Hood River and hiking. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Words cannot describe our wonderful experience at Mt Hood Hamlet B&B! Paul and Diane are the sweetest couple and go above and beyond in making sure your stay meets expectations. Debbie, who helps out with duties is a wonderful lady who took time out of her morning duties to snap photos of my husband and I on a beautiful Mt. Hood morning. (Thank you Debbie for your hospitality!) This was our first visit to the area and from the moment we first inquired about reserving rooms, Paul was a wealth of information!! Not only about the B&B, but about the entire area of Mt. Hood as well as giving us detailed directions from Portland Airport, specific roads to take, and special sights of interest to stop at along the way. We took his advice and are so happy we did! It added so much more to our Valentine Vacation!! (Thank you Paul!!) Diane greeted us at the door and was so gracious in giving us a tour of the house and providing everything we needed to know at that very moment regarding our stay. (Thank you Diane for your graciousness in the home!) Paul and Diane provided wonderful breakfast experiences not to mention delicious and healthy!! My favorite item: the grapefruit served with the homemade carmelized spiced pear butter on top! Yum!! Somewhere in conversation, we had mentioned we would be snowboarding and each morning at breakfast they had the mountain conditions printed up and placed on the table. The entire home is immaculate and it's the best nights sleep my husband and I, can ever remember having!! It's so comfortable! They made us feel right at home and now feel like family to us! We will definately go back!!

About 3 weeks ago my husband and I spent two nights at the Mt. Hood Hamlet B&B. Although my husband had experienced bed & breakfasts in the past, I had not. My husband recently took a job out of our home state of Illinois in the state of Washington. Trying to sell our Illinois home, I have stayed behind thus far. For the holidays, I purchased a two-night stay at the Mt. Hood Hamlet for my husband for Christmas. I joined him on the west coast in mid-January and we both enjoyed the weekend there. Paul, Diane and Debbe were the most gracious hosts we could imagine. The food was great, rooms superb, and they were very helpful with every question/need we had regarding the area, what to do, how to get there, etc. We would defnitely recommend this B&B to anyone who finds themselves in the Hood River area for a very relaxing, comfortable weekend getaway. We look forward to returning!!!

Beautiful, comfortable and incredibly relaxing with tasty breakfasts and extremely helpful hosts! The views out our window of Mt. Hood were wonderful! My only gripe was the lack of shampoo, which was mysterious given that there were so many other forms of soap, lotion, etc. amongst the amenities. 24-hour access to coffees, teas and cocoas, dvd/video library to borrow from. A wonderfully cozy place to stay, I wish we could have stayed a little longer.

Having just completed a two night stay at Mt. Hood Hamlet we just want to say it was a very nice experience. It was our first stay at a B&B so we had no idea what to expect. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Diane upon arrival (we arrived 2 hours early) but she insisted on checking us in at that time. She gave us a tour and mentioned several places to visit. The following morning we were treated to a fabulous breakfast of oatmeal souffle,fresh fruit and apple muffins,juice and sausage. All were so delicious that there was no need to add syrup, cream or jam. The next morning we were treated to absolutely delicious scones (made by Paul), Chili Brunch (kind of an egg souffle) sausage and again fresh fruit and juice. I can't say enough about the food.Thanks Paul. And Diane is such a gracious hostess. Thanks to Diane too. My husband and I highly reccommend having the Mt. Hood Hamlet experience to anyone who likes a country setting. One cannot find better scenery anywhere or better treatment of guests. Definitely a 5 star rating. Marilyn and Bob Drake- Kennewick, WA

I booked my room at Mount Hood Hamlet based on the unprecedented number of "Excellent" ratings on TripAdvisor.com. Dianne greeted us on arrival. As the first guests to arrive that evening, we had the opportunity to tour all of the guestrooms and see the meticulous architectural & interior design details that make this B&B such a treat. We were then given a tour of the common areas & invited to relax. We occupied the Cloud Cap room. It was superb and had a fireplace that was a perfect complement to the warm colonial decor. We had a perfect view of Mt. Hood from our bed & left the curtains & windows open each night; falling asleep to the moon over the mountain & waking to the songs of wild birds. The large bathroom was lovely as well, including exhaust fans that are, indeed, silent. The bath products were top quality. The towels were plush & absorbent. Each bath had safety handles for guests requiring that extra support when entering or exiting the shower. The house was built with a large center hall between the extra insulated rooms on the second floor, which minimizes any disturbance created by other guests. The artwork throughout the home was exquisite & meaningful. The library held an incredible array of books on a variety of topics. Meals were delightful occasions with the other guests. The meals all started with fresh local fruit. The main course was a balanced, nutritional gourmet meal using traditional family recipes. Guests ate heartily over lively conversation. The gardens were lush & beautiful. It seems that they are ever expanding. We all had our moments wandering through the formal garden into the field of gorgeous wildflowers. Paul & Dianne were enthusiastic & gracious hosts who imparted a wonderful spirit of adventure in all of the guests. They knew the local area inside & out and made many off the beaten track suggestions. Mt Hood Hamlet is simply the best.

Our great 3 evenings at the B&B were enhanced by Paul's excellent advice on where to hike and how to enjoy the area. Quiet morning soaks in the hot tub with a view to Mt. Hood across the field of beautiful wildflowers were a pleasant prelude to ample breakfasts and lively conversations around the table. We enjoyed our visit very much and recommend this place to anyone looking for a retreat from the more frenzied Hood River area.

Our neighbors stayed at Mt. Hood Hamlet last year & recommended it highly to us. It was everything that they had said about it. It was very clean, beautifully decorated, and had extra little "niceties" like the Japanese washcloths in our bathroom and the coffee, tea, & Hot chocolate outside our door. Paul & Diane were excellent hosts...very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area AND maps and directions. Their home is just as beautiful on the outside with a backyard full of flowers and a view of Mt. Hood.

Exceeded all our expectations. Best breakfasts of any B&B we have experienced. The view of Mt. Hood is awesome. Great hosts. It will be at top of my list if I return to Oregon! The home & grounds are great. We did not want to leave and we stayed four nights.

Having had the good fortune to have stayed at over 100 B & B's, we can honestly say that the Mount Hood Hamlet is one of the best experiences that we have ever had. It is a very special combination of physical beauty, great food and personal warmth. You need not look any further. Go there and enjoy!

We took the giant leap of staying at a B&B. From now on, I think this is the only way we'll travel. It was so much fun to visit with the very amiable hosts, Paul and Diane, and the other guests. We felt completely at home and welcomed. Both Paul and Diane were extremely helpful and informative. Breakfast was delicious and the service was great. (We got some recipes too!) The rooms were decorated beautifully, clean and comfy leaving nothing to be desired. I loved the architecture of the house and the way the house reminded me of the old houses on the east coast (my favorite style). We look forward to our next visit.

We stopped here late in the evening (but before 10:00pm) for our honeymoon. The front door was unlocked and we went in. We could here someone upstairs giving a tour so we waited and waited. When my husband went upstairs we were confronted with "how did you get in?" We were asked if we had any food allergies but were not offered a "Low Fat or Restricted" diet as their sight said that they would. When we suggested a few possibilities like eggs and bacon, we were told the menu had already been decided. The room was nice and clean but when we went into the room I set a small and clean backpack on the bed and was told not to place anything on the bed because the bedding was difficult to wash. Wow, that was warm and fuzzy! It was a very simply bedspread and once again, I had not returned from the outback with a soiled bag! We were told about the fan and how well it works in the bathroom but other than having a switch it did not seem to do a thing. The place was clean and probably a great retreat if one felt welcome. When we decided to leave instead of having breakfast we were confronted and nearly shamed for not stay with them. The house was also very much like a New Englander which is what I would expect from the east coast but not the beautiful Northwest. Each to their own. The countryside in the area is beautiful.

Our front door is normally locked. Normal check-in is between 4 and 7PM. We had just let in another late arriving couple, were showing them their room and apparently did not re-lock it so they could easily unload their car. We did not hear the new couple arrive and walk in. Since they did not ring the doorbell, we were surprised when a new face suddenly appeared on the stairs. Trying to be humorous we asked “How did you get in?” but apologize for being abrupt. This couple had made their reservation that day, since we had a last minute cancellation. When asked if they had any food allergies or restrictions, they said no. The low-fat egg dish had already been made to marinate overnight for breakfast. Since they had no restrictions, we did not offer to make them a different breakfast from our other six guests. We are sorry if we were abrupt in requesting luggage not be placed on the clean bed. There are luggage racks in the room. Experience has taught us that dirty luggage, which has been placed on the beds, requires extra laundry care to make the room ready for subsequent guests. The bathroom fan is part of a modern, whole-house ventilation system that is extremely quiet. Along with our geothermal heat-pump system, sound is nearly nonexistent. Our b&b’s architecture was inspired by an ancestral New England home, with ties to the founding of Providence, RI. This couple came to the breakfast area as we were serving and stated they were leaving - they didn't even want to try our breakfast. This was unexpected. We had to take time away from serving our other guests in order to check them out.

Best B&B I have ever been. Great rooms, every little detail was beautiful. Delicious breakfast, hosts are very friendly & helpful.

We spent 3 nights at the Hamlet... booked the gorgeous Cloud Cap room.. perfect view of Mt. Hood. Paul & Diane anticipated our every need. They shared their expert knowledge of the area (current & historical) with enthusiasm. Highly recommend this super comfy, homey B & B.

Paul and Diane were wonderful host and hostess while we stayed in the area. Everything was top drawer and plan to visit Mt. Hood Hamlet again. Fond thoughts of our visit last summer are still with us.

My husband and I spent the first four nights of our honeymoon here. The innkeepers, Paul & Diane, were terrific! Every morning Paul made suggestions for things to see and do. The best was the hint about taco night. Breakfasts were amazing, we are still making several of the recipes (which they gladly shared) two years later. The house was immaculate. Just outside our door was a coffee machine--you can brew your own coffee at any time of the day. The view from the breakfast room is superb on clear days as Mount Hood looms right outside. There is much to see and do in the area, or just wander through the orchards. We can't wait to go back again.
