My husband and I spent our one year anniversary at Elkhorn and we have rarely been so impressed. We only stay and Bed and Breakfast's, never hotels so we have a lot of experience of good and bad B&B's and this one is by far my favorite! I am a very picky eater and sleeper but I do not have one complaint, the food was fresh and amazing and the bed was outstanding. If you are looking for breath-taking views, incredibly quiet, awesome innkeepers, the best bacon ever.....you have found it with Elkhorn!
5 out of 5Absolutely wonderful. One night was entirely too short!

My husband and I stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I have so many food allergies I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to eat much of the breakfast. But Robin and Larry were enthusiastically accommodating, serving us absolutely delicious gluten free pancakes with fresh blueberries, flax milk and a variety of other hypoallergenic foods. We were served out on the back deck next to a crackling fire, with a stunning view of the forested mountains and the soothing sound of the creek down below. It was absolutely lovely. We felt so welcomed and pampered in every way by both of them. It's obvious that they really enjoy hosting their guests. We stayed in "Robin's Nest," a romantic room with a timbered ceiling, gas fireplace, private bath, and a deck with an equally stunning view of mountains, forest, and a meadow where the deer were grazing early in the morning. There is a lovely little common area that we didn't have time to explore, but it's like a cozy library with a gas fireplace, comfy chairs, lots of books, DVD's, games and a computer. There is also a private little cottage that was so romantic... Next time. We can't say enough about this place. We will definitely be back!

5 out of 5I absolutely loved the Elkhorn Valley Inn
June 18, 2012
Gerry, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. We stayed at the Elkhorn Valley Inn for 2 nights on a trip to Oregon to visit relatives. My wife had stayed previously, but this was my first trip. She was extremely complimentary of the Inn, but I found it even better than she had promised. We stayed in the cabin, which had a living room and kitchen, a separate bedroom, and a large bath. Even an outdoor area with a gas grill and a fire pit. We loved it. Totally comfortable, everything we needed, stylish. Larry made a killer breakfast each day. He even built a fire for us. Helped us with internet access. This is a friendly place that you should definitely visit if you are anywhere near.

5 out of 5A slice of heaven
September 08, 2011
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to stay at many B&B's across the U.S. This place is definately my favorite and far exceeds any B&B I have visited. The moment I walked in, I felt welcome. The rooms were beautiful, service outstanding, breakfast delicious and value for your money, well worth it. I was amazed at the tranquility and serene atmosphere. It was just what the doctor ordered, to get away from the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to stay at B&B's. The experience goes beyond words. Irt was a slice of heaven.
5 out of 5A Peace of Heaven :-)
October 04, 2010
My husband surprised me with a 2 night getaway to Rene's Cottage at Elkhorn Valley Inn. What a peace-filled, quiet place! Cozy gas fireplace which encourages napping, view of the mountains everywhere you look, a wrap-around porch with breakfast outside and God's beauty and peace surrounding you. What more could you ask for? Our lovely hosts. Robin, Karen and Larry are so hospitable and take care of everything with such a sweet attitude. Robin: thank you so much for the lovely anniversary picnic lunch (my husband asked ahead for an extra fee, but well worth it)--wonderfully seasoned fried chicken breasts, hard boiled eggs, salami and brie, fresh strawberries, cantaloupe, and grapes, pecan pie, and more than I can remember. We even had leftovers for dinner that night. We spent the day Saturday driving around and visiting 5 of the local covered bridges and the rest of our time enjoying the comforts of our cottage, complete with french doors leading to our own private patio from our bedroom. We can only hope that next time, God will bless us with clear skies for stargazing. Gives us reason to return. . . We left relaxed and not wanting to leave. May God continue blessing you so that you can keep blessing us with your lovely home and hospitality. Thank you so much for making our anniversary special, Kathy and Mike (Tigard, OR) P.S. (For those of you who remember your swimsuits, there is a hot tub at the main house to use. We also had DVD's, video and cable channels if you do TV).

Out of all this is our favorite! A quiet refuge, taking us back in time with an authentic farmhouse, warm hospitality, comfy bed, very clean and the combination of all this and the surrounding nature gave us respite.
4.8 out of 5from a couple of city guys

Friend and I stayed there last summer for three nights golfing and hiking thru the the spectaculare Opal Creek Wilderness forests. What a wonderful escape from my congested city environment. Breakfasts were terrific, along with Robin's hospitality and comfortable rooms.
