We stayed at "State Lodge", and in no way should it be considered a B&B. A motel with free coffee, juice & pastries in lobby is all it is. It was a good room -- nice location, just not to be considered a B&B.

Nice room (looks just like the picture) with a private patio out the french doors but there were no special touches that I've come to expect when I stay at a B&B. No fresh flowers in the room, sparsely decorated, some of the furniture (chairs and table the small fridge was on) has seen better days, no welcoming refreshments at check-in, etc. I know I sound picky but it's the little things that make a bed and breakfast different from a run of the mill hotel room. There are 3 wine cottages clustered together and we stayed in the back cottage. It was nice and quiet because we were the only ones there during our one night stay. The a/c is a bit noisy but we had to leave it on because it was warm and there are no screens on the windows or doors. Overall, the cottage was nice but nothing outstanding to warrant the $150.00 price. What was outstanding is the Garden Bistro at the McCully House Inn just a block away. Everything about our dinners was excellent - from the soup and salad to the entrees to the wine to the dessert. We sat outside, under the stars, listening to the crickets and couldn't have asked for a more sublime dinner!

We had a fantastic stay at the McCully House. Our room was upgraded to a ground level luxury suite after a mix-up with our room. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The central location made walking into town/Britt very easy
