Jacksonville's Magnolia Inn

The only regret we had about our stay at Magnolia Inn is that we couldn't stay longer and enjoy this beautiful inn and delightful little town! One night is not enough.

The Magnolia Inn is a great find! The house and rooms are well decorated, very clean and every detail addressed. Breakfasts included wonderful local pastries, fresh fruit, health-conscious cereals and breads. The coffee was perfect; very strong and fresh - yum! The hosts, Susan and Robert, couldn't have been better. They were there if you needed anything but were not intrusive. We had a wonderful time and plan to return soon.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in March to do a little wine tastine in the Applegate wine trail. What a wonderful experience. The owners are so friendly and helpful with where to eat and what to do. it is only 2 blocks from town so we walked everywhere. We stayed in the Suzette room and it was perfect. Our friends stayed in Olivia on the 1st floor and really liked it. Loved eating fresh fruit and drinking our morning coffee on the balcony each morning. I am telling everyone I know about this place!

We have stayed here 3 times now, and it is always a very nice experience. Robert and Susan are very friendly and give great tips on good restaurants and places to see in the area.

A cute little gem in very historic Jacksonville. Pet friendly, provided treats and conveniently located near a closed in field. However, disappointed that the inns yard was off limits for potty breaks. Provided poop bags but no waste cans. Lovely town, lovely food, lovely B&B. Plan to go wine tasting while you are here.

What a delight it was to spend a night here. Everything in this "best kept secret" of an Oregon town is within walking distance. (Look up "Jacksonville Oregon" to find out why it's on the historic register). The Inn and rooms are comfortable and inviting. The breakfast is yummy. The owners delightful to get to know. And the rates are reasonable. I recommend the Magnolia Inn for either locals or travelers. Go!

My husband and I did a quick overnight to Jacksonville In Feb 2013 and stayed at The Magnolia Inn. We have been to Jacksonville many times but this was the first time we stayed at The Magnolia. Robert was a great host and a pleasure to talk with. We stayed in the Suzette room and it was wonderful. We loved the decor and the bathroom is huge. Having been in the Travel & Tourism business for most of my career I have to say that this was one of the best experiences we've had. It is a beautiful property with an outstanding value. Wonderful bed and breakfast with lots of thoughtful details and service. I especially appreciated the guests' community kitchen where one could store and prepare food.

Because most of the public areas are balconies, porches, etc. (plentiful) can be a bit confining during rainy days. Also, one pet room on 1st floor, no access to second floor. Would not bring my pet here, again, particularly during times of inclement weather. Hosts were great. Best rooms in my view are Courtney and Helen.

We had a really nice stay. The people are very nice and resourceful. They even have and old school VHS tape library where you can pick your movie for the night! The only thing I would say is that the mattresses are bumpy and the breakfast is more of a continental breakfast. Normally, when we stay at a Bed and Breakfast, we expect a hot breakfast and dairy options to put in in the coffee and fresh juice. There were boiled eggs, a fruit salad, home made pastries, yogurts and concentrated orange juice in cans. They have coffee or tea ready but no milk at all. I could have really enjoyed a fresh juice or a hot chocolate (with milk, not water).

The blue berry coffee cake was delicious.

The place is great and close to everything Jacksonville has to offer. The owners are very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and places to visit. I would stay here again.

We found the room clean and comfortable - the owners were friendly and shared their knowledge of the area - it was a nice relaxing weekend - we enjoyed walking around the town and seeing the sites.

This "downtown" Bed and Breakfast sits in the heart of historic Jacksonville and is historic itself. The owners go out of their way to make a stay as comfortable and fun as possible. Each room has a different decor and when, we were there, the whole house had a harvest theme. The home made breakfast treats are fantastic. The guest veranda was the perfect place from which to view the garden and the fall colors. I would reccomend this for anyone interested in a slightly different getaway.

We have stayed here twice now and this most recent time we were on our honeymoon. The attention to detail here is incredible! Every thing about the Inn is gorgeous! We loved being able to pop open a bottle of wine and relax and chat on the veranda. The Magnolia Inn definately has the atomosphere of being at your home away from home. We were pleasently suprised. The hospitallity was great and will return again. It was totally quiet and the rooms was were well decorated.

The staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast was a little weak because it was a continental breakfast. I would have been ok with the breakfast but the coffee was terrible. It was translucent and weak. I like coffee that is strong and robust. So on both mornings I ended up going to a local coffee shop to get my fix.

My wife and I have been staying at the Magnolia Inn for 10 years and have never had a bad experence. The seasonal decorations are always enjoying, and the grounds are spotless. Thank you for making my wifes birthdat a very special one. Philip and Tracie Simi Redding Calif.

My wife and I celebrated our 1st anniversary at Magnolia Inn and the experience met and exceeded our expectations. Robert and Susan were wonderful hosts and Jacksonville is a great place to get away. We made it out to Applegate Christian Fellowship for a relaxing time of worshipping God outdoors in a relaxed setting on Sunday morning, and all in all had a wonderful weekend!

Great B&B in historic Jacksonville. We enjoyed our room - loved the detail in the decor. The inn is modern but with a feel of older days. Good breakfast is included and plenty of other amentities. Just passing through town, had a good nights' stay. The host was very helpful & welcoming, and accommodating regarding a safe parking place for my motorcycle. Need a very solid breakfast so I ate out, except for some yogurt.

We were only able to stay one night, in town for a concert at the Britt...I wish we would have blown off the concert and just hung out at the Inn. Amazing place! Beautiful grounds, amazing room, I would HIGHLY recommend staying here to anyone. We received such a warm welcome on our arrival. Perfect nights stay...wish it could have been longer. We will definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at Magnolia Inn. We were welcomed warmly by Robert when we arrived. We got in just before check-in time ended, but Robert took time with us to give recommendations on where to dine and what to see during our brief one-night stay. We arrived hungry, but quickly settled our tummies with the delicious cookies available at the entrance. Our room was lovely, quiet, comfortable, and we enjoyed a fantastic sleep! Robert and Susan's attention to detail was astounding. Our only complaint is that we wish we would have stayed longer than one night. Jacksonville was a gem and this B&B was incredible!

Robert and Susan have a great place and love sharing it. We had the Maureen #7 room and it was just right. Very clean and the Inn is withing walking distance to all the fun stuff in Jacksonville. Great breakfast!

We were welcomed from the moment we arrived. There were truffles on our bed, and freshly baked Britt snacks to take to our concert. The balcony and front poach are inviting and relaxing. The rooms are small, but nicely decorated and include the little touches that make you feel at home. The fresh fruit, coffee, juice and scones made for a great way to greet the morning while dining on the balcony. There were plenty of choices for a variety of tastes. As soon as we got home from our visit to the Magnolia Inn, we made reservations to return! Thank you, Sue!

The inn is conveniently located in Jacksonville. There was some traffic noise Saturday night, likely due to Britt Festival attendees. Our room seemed small, and the husband wished for a larger TV. Still, the continental breakfast provided choices--including fresh fruit, hard-cooked eggs, jogurt, and juice, among the usual offerings. The staff were extremely pleasant and congenial.

My wife and I had an excellent time at the Magnolia Inn. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant, the room was quite comfortable and there was so much to see in Jacksonville, all within walking distance. We are already talking about making a return trip soon!

My sister and I shared a two-room suite. It was perfect! We were able to walk to Britt, which was also great. The owner could not have been friendlier and I would certainly stay here again.

My wife and I, along with two other couples, were in Jacksonville for a Kris Kristofferson concert and all stayed at the Magnolia Inn. We all agreed it was absolutely the best possible place. They have plenty of nice clean rooms. Bob and Susan could not have been more hospitable. It’s a perfect walk from the Britt back to The Inn on a summer evening through the wonderful town of Jacksonville. We plan on making this an annual event with home base being the Magnolia Inn.

What a great way to enjoy the Peter Britt or Shakespearean Festivals. Your hosts are pleasant and extremely helpful. Rooms are all you could wish for. The pictures on the Internet are very accurate. Everything around the B&B was clean and well cared for. Jacksonville is a charming town with lots to do.

We parked our car upon arrival and didn't touch the keys again until leaving Jacksonville. This B&B is ideally located within walking distance of everything worth seeing in the town. An additional benefit was the Sunday farmers market across the street for fresh vegetables and fruit for those planning to picnic their way north on the Applegate wine trail. ( highly recommended ). The only down side was that guests decided to park outside our window on the balcony in the early am while retelling their stories from the 50's, 60's & 70's which we could hear too well at 7:00 am...next time, we'll ask for a room on the opposite side of the house! Good value at the price point and the owners were very helpful, accommodating and non-intrusive. We plan to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Inn. The owners were delightful, the atmosphere was so relaxing and peaceful, and there were extras that really made a difference--platters of fresh fruit at breakfast, lots of fun snacks, a ref rig for my yogurt, and more. It was great!

Love the dining area. The room is a bit small and the bed is too high for us. I kept knocking on the bed frame and got a few bruises. Overall is a nice and cosy place to stay. The hosts are very nice people too.

You know just by looking at the building it is going to special. It only gets better. The rooms, balconies, yard, hospitality.... are all comfortable, memorable.... "special". We not only highly recommend The Magnolia Inn. We keep coming back. John

We had a lovely stay. It was just for the one night.We were just passing through heading down to California. Robert made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions. He even helped us with the rest of our trip giving us advice on the best way to go and what to see. Would definately recommend Magnolia Inn. Wish we could've stayed longer.

This was our third visit to the Magnolia Inn and they never disappoint us. Always clean, always friendly and very comfortable rooms. We brought Roscoe P. We stayed at the Magnolia Inn February of 2012 for a baby shower (first grandchild!). What a great Inn! Our room was called The Madison I think, which is a corner room and we loved it. Sash windows with views of church and hills from one side and quiet street and church on the other. The bed was very comfortable. Robert and Susan made us feel very welcome and made some excellent local dining suggestions for both nights as well as the local winerys. We loved the Inn and will definitely come back. The Magnolia Inn in Jacksonville OR is a charming place, conveniently located and easy to find, walking distance to great restaurants and all that Jacksonville has to offer. The hosts are welcoming and they go out of their way to accomodate special dietary needs of guests. We've been here twice and will be going back.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were greated by Abby when we walked in the door.... wonderful for 2 dog people to walk into! Everything was wonderful. How nice it was to find a B&B with 2 beds in one room. We will definately be staying here again the next time I fly home to visit.

Robert was very helpful in giving tips for a nice dinner and things to do. The Inn is more beautiful than the pictures, which is very unusual! I will definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed at the Magnolia Inn for our anniversary. As soon as we came threw the front door Robert made us feel right at home. He even recommended local restaurants that created the food we wanted. The room we were assigned was beautiful and we were pleasantly suprised to leave and come back later to find champagne in our room. Robert and Susan go all out for their guests and we will be sure to visit again.

This is by far the best value on lodging that I have seen in Jacksonville. It is easily as nice as any other place for 10% less.

We stayed here over the Christmas weekend and had a great time. We have stayed here before and it is always a joy to return. The Magnolia Inn is right up there with the best we have stayed at. The owners were a joy to meet. We stayed during Christmas so everything was decorated and a feast for the eyes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia Inn. At $99/night it was by far the best value around as well. We stayed in a room on the balcony side of the home and next time would choose a quieter, more private location on the back side of the home but all in all we were very happy here. Above and beyond our expectations!

We didnt find anything suitable in Ashland for our stay in the area, so we chose the Magnolia Inn in Jacksonville. The quality and beauty of the place and the friendliness of the innkeeper more than compensated the distance we had to drive to Ashland.

On a recent road trip up to Portland with our little dog, we found Magnolia Inn as a "pet friendly" place to stay for a couple of nights in order to explore the area. The owners were friendly with alot of great information about things to do. The continental breakfast was nicer than most and everything was so well kept. We highly recommend the Magnolia Inn as a great place to stay and Jacksonville a good location for exploring the Souh East Oregon area.

My adult daughter and I go to the Magnolia Inn every October. We love it there....Robert and Susan are very friendly and easy to talk to. They keep the inn immaculate and the continental breakfast is wonderful....I especially like the fresh fruit, and the pastries from a bakery there in J'ville. I grew up about 3 miles from there and it is a wonderful trip down memory lane every year! I would definitely recommend staying there. Jacksonville is a wonderful town to see.

Normally, a B & B without some sort of hot eggs in the am would be a deal breaker - not this time! Everything about this place was so right - including the available snacks & drinks 24/7 - that the scrumptious pastries the next morning were more than satisfying. Highly recommended. We loved it & will likely return.

We recently stayed at this lovely B&B on our way from Southern California to Washington and could not have been more pleased. In fact, we liked it so much, we stayed there again on our return. Robert is the consummate host and did everything from suggestion dinner spots to helping us get a few clothes washed. Cute B&B in a really delightful small town.

The location is quiet and the rooms are a great value and very comfortable.

I traveled to the area on business and frankly think the hotels in the Medford area are below average compared to the same hotel type elsewhere. I have stayed in Ashland at a very nice boutique hotel and loved it but decided to try this since it was less expensive. It was a much better value with breakfast included and everything about it was great. THe couple that owns and operates it could not be nicer people and will accomodate any needs you have. Such a great experience it is my new hotel when I am in the area and I plan to take my husband with me for a R&R weekend in the near future.

Very well located and inviting. Our hosts were pleasant and very well informed. The breakfast buffet was great. The possibility of eating on the terrasse with a view was nice. The best B&B in our 10-day trip to Oregon!

Our stay at the Magnolia Inn was perfect. My husband wasn't excited about staying at a B&B, but now he has a different feeling about them, so thank you for having us. The Inn is within walking distance to the Britt Festival, restaurants and shops. The hospitality was warm and welcoming and the sheets were wonderful!!!!!

Magnolia Inn was perfect for our stay in "upscale quaint" Jacksonville -- a short walk from shops, restaurants, Brit, and amazing cemetery, with easy parking. Our room was immaculate and well cared for (as was the entire Inn), with just the right amount of decor; chocolates and a couple area magazines were waiting for us. The bed was plump, comfortable, and featured gorgeously-carved head- and foot-boards; windows let in ample light (along with blinds). Bathroom was spacious, with good water pressure, convenient toiletries, and space for necessities. A small writing desk, period-style chair, and cable tv completed the room. The "general" areas were lovingly arranged and spotless (sitting room, guest kitchen and dining room, veranda); books, videos, and games were available. The entrance and gardens were beautiful and welcoming. Robert was kind, friendly, and helpful -- upon arrival, departure, and at breakfast. Continental breakfast consisted of coffees, teas, juices, waffles and syrup, fresh pastries, several fresh fruits, toast (and perhaps more that I just don't remember). We enjoyed this casual style, with no silly "seating times." The second-level, covered veranda opened off the dining area. If we had to offer any suggestions at all, they would be: brighter bedside lighting (at least in our room); larger, plusher bathtowels; a simple protein at breakfast (maybe peanut butter for the toast?). However, these in NO way detracted from our stay; we chose cuddling over reading; the provided towels were just fine; and we certaintly didn't starve after those immense pastries! Indeed, we would (and hope to) return and would NOT consider any other BnB in Jacksonville. This ranks with the best of our BnB stays. Robert and Susan have established a charming, comfortable, well-thought BnB that's perfect for its locale -- and for us.

The Magnolia Inn has charm and warmth with gracious innkeepers in Robert and Susan Roos. We are "seasoned" B and B guests and found The Magnolia Inn quite comfortable with fabulous beds and beautiful decor. We like the casual, serve yourself breakfast because we like to eat when we want without the structure of the assigned meal time. Having a "kitchen" available to meet our needs was a big plus! We highly recommend this Inn as a great "home away from home" -- great value for the price!

We try to get to Jacksonville at least once a year and usually stay at Jacksonville Inn at one of the honeymoon cottages. Magnolia Inn was just as nice and we will be returning next time we visit.

We got a warm and informative welcome at the Magnolia Inn. The grounds were very attractive with many places to sit, read, or just enjoy the view. The room was spacious and attractive. The carpet needed cleaning or or replacing. The bathroom was clean and well-supplied. I would recommend it for a stay in Jacksonville.

This was our second stay at Magnolia Inn. The first was just an overnight stop. We liked it so much that we decided to stay there again for two nights. The décor is very tastefully done, providing the inn with an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. It is also quiet and peaceful. The pastries at breakfast were far too scrumptious and the addition of freshly baked cookies in the afternoon was a nice touch. Hope we can go again in the near future. It is a wonderful place!

This was our second visit at the Magnolia Inn, and both times we enjoyed our stay immensely. The rooms, main inn and gardens are all beautiful, and Robert is friendly and informative. Breakfast is serve-yourself, with fruit, delicious fresh pastries, coffee, etc. Lovely dining room or veranda where you can enjoy your meals. The town is delightful and there was a craft fair across the street the weekend we were there which we were abe to enjoy.

My husband and I were very happy to return to Magnolia Inn after 4 years to find that we could have an even better experience than our first. The owners Robert and Susan have redone all the rooms, keeping the charm and provided us with a relaxing comfortable stay. Hope that we will be able to return without having to wait another 4 years!

Very accommodating and a nice location where you can walk to anywhere in town. Wonderful to wake up and sit on the veranda overlooking the street and watching the world go by. I would stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone else who ventures into Jacksonville Or.

We had a wonderful stay in June, 2011. Robert and Susan handled beautifully some special needs which arose during our visit. The ambiance, their warmth, the helpful suggestions, and great food made this a birthday celebration we will never forget! We will be back!

Location - Just close enough to everything. Rooms - We've visited 2x's. Both times the rooms were gorgeous. Food - Backed goods, fruit, coffee. Scrumptious. Pets - We have a service dog but register as pet usually. They had a basket of goodies for him and not a lot of rules that were unreasonable. We felt very welcome with our pet/service dog.

The gardens virtually beckoned us to relax in their beauty. The decor throughout the rooms constantly delighted and the friendliness of the staff almost unbelievable. We came needing a break and found stimulating renewal. Bravo to Robert and Susan. Paul Pulliam

I used to stay at the McCully House, but have now switched allegiance to the Magnolia Inn. It is a delightful place and Robert and Susan are excellent hosts.

The Magnolia Inn is a beautiful, charming, and delightful place to stay, and a nice alternative to the traditional B&B. Rather than the typical sit-down breakfast at a pre-set time, one can meander out later in the morning and help one's self to a nice variety of pastries, fruit, yogurt, and cereal. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The Inn includes all kinds of thoughtful amenities including earplugs for a sound night's sleep!

We recently stayed at the Magnolia Inn at the recommendation of some friends for a wedding. The location is outstanding, as it is in walking distance of downtown Jacksonville. The innkeepers are very friendly. The Inn itself is very lovely, and the grounds are well kept and inviting. We would highly recommend this B&B to our friends!

We stayed in the Olivia Room and were very, very comfortable. It was roomy, nicely decorated and clean. The owners were extemely helpful and knowledgeable about what the area had to offer. The breakfast was serve yourself and had a good variety of things to choose from including some lovely homemade pastries. Eating outside on the terrace was a delight. The Inn is a short, easy walk to the main area of town.

We have stayed in quite a few B&B's and our expectations are generally what is described in the online introduction. Magnolia Inn is a beautiful B&B in a quaint charming town (would like to observe in busy summer though). Because of our experience with B&B's it is hard to describe things as exceeding our expectations, because our expectations of B&B's are that things should be in most cases better than average. Our only surprise (did not want to use complaint), is the noise generated by traffic on the front part of the Inn at night. The room we chose was on the front side. Overall it was very nice, and would stay there again, but choose another room. Fortunately the traffic disappears from ~11pm to 6am. Now we know why you supplied ear plugs. Thanks for the great experience.

Great host and hostess... instant friends. Great recommendations for food, sightseeing, real estate and more. A car is unnecessary to tour Jacksonville from this location... great place to walk. Highly recommend.

The room was outstanding with a very comfortable bed. If you need to go some place to unwind, this great starting point. The breakfast is very good with several choices and something different every morning. This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here and we hope it won't be the last.

This is the absolutely perfect place to stay in Jacksonville. We stayed in mid-March 2011 and would definitely stay here again. The location, the rooms, private baths, price - all outstanding. The best is the breakfast - great variety and the owner makes her own coffeecake, muffins, yogurt parfaits! The owners are very nice and helpful too. We'll be back!

My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway and choosing the Magnolia Inn was the right decision. I chose it because of the outstanding $$ value during the off season and will return in the future because of the ambiance and service we received during our stay. We couldn't have asked for better hosts, Robert and Susan’s attention to detail was outstanding. Each evening we returned to find delicious little goodies and candies in our room and had nice chats with Robert each morning in the breakfast room upstairs. The inn was quiet and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. For the value I highly recommend the Magnolia Inn. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that we definitely want to go back again and very soon. If I were asked for a suggestion of improvement for our next stay, not as a complaint mind you but as a suggestion, I would ask for a small protein item to be added to the continental breakfast. Perhaps a slice of cheese, a hard-boiled egg or a peanut butter for those of us that don't do well with carbs in the morning. Magnolia Inn was a perfect spot for a Valentine's night away. We settled in around 3 and watched movies in our room from the fun selection on Magnolia's bookshelf. We were totally blown away by the personal touches. Our names were written on a heart on the door, and in our room we found a basket of Valentine's goodies including iced champagne and truffles. For dinner we walked the down the block to Bella Union and had their legendary Mr. Jacksonville pizza and Bailey's cheesecake. Our bathroom, bedroom, view of the town and the overall atmosphere was truly lovely. An awesome breakfast, including fresh local pastries and Susan's coffee cake met us in the morning. We enjoyed a quiet and friendly chat with Robert and some other guests and easily could have lingered past check-out. Can't say enough about this place...charm everywhere you step!

My wife and I stayed Saturday night February 5 and had a great experience. Our room was very tastefully decorated. The proprietor gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation and accurate driving directions for places we needed to visit in and around Jacksonville. The breakfast was all that we needed to start our day. We would be very happy to make a return visit.

We loved this place and definitely plan to return! Magnolia Inn has so much character, and our room was spacious and comfortable. I especially liked the kitchen bar setup upstairs which allowed us to come up and go to match different schedules.

We spent 3 nights over New Years at the Inn and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our helpful Innkeepers had thoughtfully provided us with some New Year's goodies in our room. We had access to refrigerator, microwave and pretty dishes so we brought great leftovers from dinner home for lunch the next day - and we had walked to dinner. Loved downtown Jacksonville. This was a great base for exploring the area, and we will look forward to returning to read books out on the welcoming verandah.

We were in Jacksonville to attend a wedding and stayed at the Magnolia Inn for 4 nights. Robert and Susan were wonderful hosts and very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Madisson room and it was very comfortable. Breakfast was great - help yourself to the wonderful home made muffins, loafs, pastries, coffee, tea, toast, oatmeal and fresh fruit. Our stay was home away from home. We will stay there again when we return to Jacksonville on future visits.

December 30th and 31st (2010) were the best two days/nights of our 1 week trip in Oregon. 90% of the reason was a result of our 'Experience' at the Magnolia Inn! My wife Julie and pug (Gahmi) loved everything about it! From the moment we were first greeted by Robert, to the last 'thank you and good bye' on the way out, everything was amazing! Besides the great personal service, the incredible rooms (and multiple patios/decks and common spaces), the 2 minute walk to the cute Jacksonville downtown area, there were plenty of surrounding activities (including access to Crater Lake)! The best part of my experience was enjoying a wonderful breakfast of fresh fruit, oatmeal, high-end pastries, coffee and other items with my fellow guests - in the spacious kitchen/lounge area! Like the small sign in the hall says "You come as guests and leave as friends", I made some new friends that I will be staying in contact with far beyond our 1 week trip. What did I like the least? I have to strain to try to figure something out here! OK, they didn't have FREE in-house massages for all the guests. Ridiculous I know, but that is the best complaint I have. My wife and I will be returning to Jacksonville this summer and the Magnolia Inn will be 90% of the reason why! From the hot apple cider and fresh baked cookies to the gift waiting in our room for our pooch,we felt like we were in a Christmas card! The Inn is so cozy and welcoming that it made it hard to leave. We will definately be back, hopefully very soon!

I am so happy we chose this B & B! It was the first time the entire family stayed at a Bed and Breakfast (there were 7 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs). All of us felt very welcome and comfortable. The owners had a basket of dog blankets and biscuits, fresh water bowls for the dogs. They also had a fun toy for each of the kids to play with... Their generosity was totally unexpected! The beds were very comfy, the rooms were clean (sparkling!), there were plenty of places to gather (kitchen, sitting room and upstairs balcony) to have tea, coffee or wine, or to play a game of chess, or any board game they had on their shelves. The breakfast included homemade muffins and coffee cake (Susan is a great baker!) along with hot cereal, fresh luscious fruits and an assortment of teas to choose from. There was more on the menu, but those are the items I enjoyed. Robert (the owner) was very helpful and had a wealth of information re: activities we could enjoy in the area. Both he and his wife were helpful and genuinely nice to be around. We are going back to this B & B for sure!

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Magnolia Inn. The room was very nice and clean. We really liked how close it was to all the shopping and dining areas of jacksonville. Overall, a great place to go and get away. The dining area upstairs was really nice and a great place to kick back and have a glass of wine or sip on some coffee/tea.

Its hard to say we were gonna be surprised by how much more special we could feel with our wedding weekend plans but lets try to just say "wow". We brought my entire family from the midwest to stay at the Magnolia renting the entire house for 3 days. My large but humble family were out of their socks because they had been blown off which was our intention but even those were pleasently exceeded. The beauty, the incredibly comfy beds, and friendlyness of Roger and Sue were unmatched and we left feeling all warm and fuzzy feeling apart of their family. Cannot tell how much we appreciate their kindness and just how much they and their lovely inn meant to our special days. Thank you so much! This is a great little place! I was in town on business, and decided to go the bed and breakfast route. I was so happy I made that choice, because The Magnolia Inn was so charming. They have bath salts for a nice hot bath, an upper deck to enjoy the fresh air, and they even put breakfast out a little early when I had a work function to get to in the morning. There are several bars and restaurants and even a bakery within walking distance. The owners are very friendly, and will chat if you want, but they also seem to have a great sense for letting you be. I will definitely stay here again.

Close to town and Britt Festival. Very Clean and quiet. Loved it!

We made a trip to the Oregon Shakespeare festival and were greeted by the gracious hosts and were made to feel right at home. Excellent home made pastries for breakfast every morning with the ripest fruit serving. I would recommend this B and B to everyone. We (two couples) just spent two delightful nights at the Inn -- within walking distance of all the Jacksonville shops, the Britt Festival and a short drive to Ashland.... so convenient in such very comfortable and pretty surroundings -- the gardens, upstairs terrace and lovely open space simply added to our comfort.

Completely mesmerized by the English country charm of this 9 room inn. Such a drastic change from the setting in 5 stars hotels like the Inter-Continental in VIenna and Prague. The decor and ambiance here have more personality. There is enough modern amenity to make our stay very comfortable. The well stocked kitchen provided the best breakfast in the B&B I visited, none of which with the luxury of eating in the verendah. Bob and Sue are super-amiable inn owners. Who won't fall in love with the well-tended and carefully manicured garden ? WIll definitely revisit and recommend to others. Thank you for the wonderful stay we had there.

We (four friends) have just returned from spending a few days in Southern Oregon. It was the third year we have stayed at the Magnolia Inn. It is always a pleasure to return to the comforts and warmth provided by Susan and Robert Roos. They are welcoming, friendly, and happy to help in any way. We have found the inn to be a quiet, comfortable place with a nice combination of space that allows for privacy and places to gather if you want company. It is easy to walk to the downtown shops and restaurants and there are lots of places to explore. We are grateful for the hospitality provided at the Magnolia Inn.

This was our first visit to Jacksonville. And everything went so right! The weather was wonderful, the people friendly and helpful, and the Inn was marvelous. They have thought of everything that will make a stay there comfortable. Lots of attention to little details that make the difference between an OK experience and an Oh, My! The rooms were lovely, and the bed comfortable. All normal amenities were carefully chosen and offered. But then....they go the extra mile. The kitchen area is wonderful! Refrigeration, microwave (with popcorn to accompany the VCR library for your room viewing), plate, utensils, trays--it made our "picnic" on the front lawn so easy. The front parlour is a lovely sitting area, which enabled us to plan our day trips in comfort. There are lots of outside sitting areas, providing privacy and community. The Inn is close to downtown Jacksonville--only a short 2 block walk--and all the shops and dining. We will definitely be back. They have a plaque on the stair case...."Enter as Strangers, Leave as Friends" It is not an idle thought, Robert & Susan made our trip a wonderful experience. Bill & Suzie

Wonderful accommodations, in fact we utilized the kitchen and made ourselves a picnic dinner with our friends and sat outside on the lower patio. Jack (our golden retriever) got to join us while we dined alfresco. He and Abby played and enjoyed the ability to romp together. (Thanks Abby for helping to where Jack out!). We sat on the veranda in the mornings enjoying the tasty breakfast offerings taking in the view and the passers by that seemed to wish they were staying at the Magnolia Inn . One evening the four of us sat in the sitting room and planned our visit through the Applegate valley vineyards. Robert shared his thoughts and we had a spectacular day in this beautiful area. A walk through Brit Gardens, as well as many walks around town to explore the shops, historical buildings and rich history made it a fun, relaxing weekend for us Northern Oregonian’s from the other wine region of the state. McMinnville like Jacksonville is a wonderful place and we are so pleased that we vacationed in Southern Oregon. I loved the rooms that were all personalized and themed to the person they where named after. When I arrived there were chocolates on my bed waiting for me (yum!). Every moving I sat out side on the veranda and sipped my coffee while I read my book. It was so nice to slow down and really enjoy relaxing and good company with friends. The Inns is within walking distance of downtown, as a plus also. Great inn, I will be back.

This delightful B&B is a must for anyone intending to stay in the area. Robert is very friendly, most accommodating and very helpful in his knowledge of the area. The Jacksonville Magnolia Inn has become a tradition for our little band of sisters. For three years now, up to five life-long friends have decided to make the Inn our meeting place for a few days of wonderful, relaxed visiting and sight-seeing. Each room at the Inn is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It's a real treat to wake up to their wonderful coffee and homemade goodies every morning. The upstairs kitchen is expansive and provides many breakfast and beverage choices. As well, Robert and Susan Roos are always very accommodating to our needs and always spend time chatting and getting to know each guest. We just got back from a trip to Jacksonville where we stayed at the Magnolia Inn. We had always been hesitant to stay at a Bed & Breakfast, not wanting to share a bathroom or dining with people we don't know. What a wonderful surprise the Magnolia Inn was, we had a wonderful room with our own bath & the the kitchen area for guests was set up with a refrigerator that you could keep leftovers or your own food in, coffee, teas,snacks, etc. and led to a wonderful balcony for outdoor eating and relaxing. The continental breakfast had a variety of fruits, yogurts, cereal & Susan's homemade scones. It was available from 8:00 to 10:30, so you could go at your convenience! Another of the great attractions of this Inn is that it's two blocks from downtown & easy walking distance to everything. The hosts, Robert & Susan Roos, made you feel so welcome & comfortable & were so helpful with things to see & do around the area. They also give great AAA discounts, A wonderful experience!

There are lots of good things about the Magnolia Inn in Jacksonville, Oregon, including attentive and thoughtful hosts, private bathrooms attached to every room, and lots of small luxurious details - but one of the best features is the guest kitchen, available 24 hours a day, with a full-sized refrigerator for leftovers or other food items, a microwave and plenty of plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware to use and place in the dishwasher when done. The makings for coffee, hot chocolate, and a variety of teas is left in the kitchen at all times, and fruit, popcorn and candy are also available. This is the first time I have encountered this amenity in a bed and breakfast, and I think it is a wonderful idea. To complete the convenience, a balcony opens off the kitchen and has tables and chairs for eating outside. I have already recommended Jacksonville's Magnolia Inn to colleagues at work and would suggest that anyone visiting Jacksonville for the history or beautiful countryside strongly consider the Magnolia Inn.

This inn is a nice find -- charming, beautifully decorated, convenient location and completely comfortable. And we can stay with our pet! We felt very welcomed -- clearly much thought has been put into the amenities. There were treats for us as well as our dog, easy access to the nicely stocked kitchen area, our room was comfortable and cozy, and even came set up with a dog's eating area in the large bathroom. Everything was spotless. We look forward to staying here next time we're in the Medford area.

Just got back from a two week stay in Oregon! The first week we stayed at Magnolia Inn and I have to say it was the best place we stayed in all of Oregon. The hosts were very nice, the room was very well decorated and felt comfortable. A few places I've stayed felt like I was in a scary movie but not here. Jacksonville itself was really nice as well, the inn is located just off the main street and has easy walking access to the whole town. Every morning there were fresh baked scones made by the owners themselves. I highly recommend this inn to anyone staying in Southern Oregon.

Ok i am picky but this place is really the best. Perfectly clean, totally non-smoking, quiet quiet quiet. Great location too. The baked goods in the morning are out of this world! Nothing wrong with this one.

Most bed and breakfast lodging provide a hot meal served by the host. This so-called "bed and breakfast" Inn offers self serve continental breakfast, very disappointing.

I'm so happy we found the Magnolia Inn! My husband and I now have our favorite spot to stay while in Southern Oregon. Susan and Robert's attention to detail is outstanding, from the clean and well appointed room we stayed in, to the veranda overlooking the beautiful garden where we sipped our coffee and ate fresh cherries with Susan's delicious scones. Tasteful art, books, movies, games, popcorn---there is a surprise around every corner. These innkeepers know what they are doing. You won't be disappointed!

My cousin and I on a road trip discovered the Magnolia Inn and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. It is all beautifully appointed, everywhere you look you see something interesting. The breakfast was set up for "as you please" which suited us fine. A wonderful, cozy, comfortable place to be. A must see, must stay as is Jacksonville itself, on season or off.

This place was recommended to me and since I was traveling there for work, stayed. The owners were so nice! They welcomed me, visited, told the history of the place, and even carried my luggage downstairs for me when I left. Susan had homemade coffee cake ready for breakfast which was fabulous! The rooms were elegant and yet so comfortable. The whole building was beautiful with wall hangings and flowers. The grounds were gorgeous. They have a veranda too that I want to try the next time I go -- when it's a hot sunny day. Great place -- you won't regret staying here!

We just returned from a lovely three days in Jacksonville and stayed at the Magnolia Inn. Robert & Susan were the most accomodating, gracious hosts. They even helped us when our paperwork for the sale of our house had to be done while we were at the inn. They made our stay very comforable & relaxing. The inn was beautifully appointed, and the overall feeling was very laid back. Rooms were very quiet & clean. Robert & Susan were a wealth of information, especially about the outdoor recreational opprotunities available (fishing). I would recommend the inn to everyone. We plan on going back for some summer fun!

My husband and I just came home from a 2 night stay in the Ashley room. It was the most relaxing and pleasant stay we have experienced during any of our trips to the Medford area. The hosts were very gracious and made us feel like part of their family. The home was very nicely decorated, without being overdone. It was a very comforatable and laid back place to stay, yet it still gave you the feeling of being pampered. Coming back to our room after a long day was almost like come home. We will definitely be going back.

A bright airy room with two twin beds. Quiet, with easy access to patio and gardens. Lovely view of Jacksonville Historical Museum. Robert & Susan are friendly, wonderful hosts who know the local area well, and made great suggestions about shopping and sightseeing.

My husband and I just stayed at the Magnolia Inn in Jacksonville Oregon.Even when the owner took our reservation she made us feel appreciated and welcome! The Inn is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. We loved our room, breakfast, and the great interaction with susan and Robert.I had mentioned that my husband and myself wanted to enjoy the wineries of the Applegate during our stay, and when we arrived we had a wine guide for the Applegate wineries in our room! It was our first time in Jacksonville, we loved the food, shops and the friendly people in town. we will be back soon, and we will tell our friends they must go! Thank you Magnolia Inn.

Just spent the weekend with 7 friends at Robert and Susan's welcoming Magnolia Inn. Every aspect was what you'd hope a b and b would be, from the minute we arrived. Truly friendly, attentive hosts. The entire place was decorated with care. Beautiful fresh bedding (in my favorite colors), comfortable bed, roomy bathroom with great shower. Susan's scones and sticky buns were a tasty addition to the morning coffee, fresh fruit and other pastries. Outside, the surrounding gardens were well cared for and attractive, and the Jacksonville shops and restaurants were just afew blocks away! Looking forward to a return stay.

My Friend and I have just returned from an amazing weekend at the Magnolia Inn. We found the Bed & Breakfast to be warm and inviting. The inn-keeper Susan was absolutely a sweetheart! She baked delicious cookies served along side fresh milk one day and the best muffins the next. Both Robert and Susan were very kind and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful view. We enjoyed having private bathrooms and found the Bed and Breakfast to be very cozy. Our expectations were blown-away by how great to value and service was. We will definitely be returning soon. Both my friend and I agree this is by far the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever been to.

I'm not really a bed and breafast kind of guy and typically shy away from sharing bathrooms or meals with strangers. But I do look look for value and I was attracted to the low room rates of this quaint inn. I was pleased to learn that each room has ITS OWN bathroom (quite large too) and the food--mostly breakfast--items are placed out so you can take what you want back to your room or use the ample seating areas inside or outside (the balcony has a great view of the historic museum building across the street). The inn owners, Robert and Susan go out of their way to be gracious, but they don't overdo it. Each room is tastefully decorated and unique. I stayed in room 9 and was surpised to find that it is quite roomy. I have to admit that there are a lot of little touches that a B and B provides that you generally don't find with a typical hotel. There were freshly baked scones in the morning and even chocolate chip cookies and milk in the afternoon. Robert provided good recommendations for food, fishing and all the nearby sights. The inn is historic without feeling "old" and it is an easy walk around the corner to the main street of Jacksonville with some great shops and a couple good bars. Bottom line: I'm from So. CA and you can't touch a room in this area for anywhere near the low rates at this inn. Yet for less money you get the personal touches that come with dealing with "real owners" rather than a minimum wage earner behind the counter of a chain hotel who doesn't care much about your stay. I will stay at the Magnolia Inn again.

This was my first time staying in Oregon and my stay couldn't have been better. My wife and daughter and I stayed at the Magnolia Inn while we explored the wonderful shops and incredible beauty that is Jacksonville. We reserved the Helen Suite since we needed the extra bed and because a friend of ours had recommended the view. I must say that our trip was beyond expectation. The Magnolia Inn's owners were incredibly friendly and helpful and we didn't know it at first, but many of the delicious baked morning treats (muffins, scones) were actually baked by the owner's wife, Sue. The owner, Robert, was easy to find and always ready to help. I can't express enough how enjoyable our stay was and I'm not exaggerating when I say that our stay was perfect. We did indeed "come as strangers, leave as friends," and we will come again without a doubt. Highly recommended!

My new finance and I took a trip to Oregon to celebrate our engagement. We stayed at the Magnolia Inn for 3 nights in one of the beautifully decorated upstairs rooms. We had a nice view of the front yard and old magnolia tree out in the garden. Jacksonville is a great historic little town to visit with a quaint main street filled with lots of nice shops and eateries. The innkeeper was really nice and was great to talk to. He gave great advice on where to go and what to see as well as history of the area and the inn itself. The accommodations were great, our room was freshened up daily and was very clean when we arrived. The Britt music festival was taking place in Jacksonville while we were there and the inn had lots of business. I was very pleased with the cost of the room since we were located so close to all the main activities and sites that Jacksonville has to offer.

You should be aware that even if you reserve a room, the innkeeper can move your reservation to another room without your consent. We reserved a really nice room with a view of a quaint church. When we arrived, we were told that we had been moved to another room, but that it was a suite, and we would not be charged for a suite, and that filling the inn was like a "jigsaw puzzle", and they fit us were they can. The room we got had an extra sitting/bedroom room, but the view was of the owner’s driveway, and the carpet was spotted and dirty. When we asked for the room we originally reserved, the innkeeper told us that it was unavailable. The reason was that someone had wanted the room for two nights, and it was easier to bump us than to move someone else from room to room during their stay, even though we had reserved the room first. The other thing that sort of bothered me is that the innkeeper was barefoot the entire time we were there, even during breakfast. I thought it a bit too casual for a business, and unprofessional. At the continental breakfast, we were left to figure out where to find silverware, and what was offered, even though he was in the room at the time. On the bright side, the grounds are very well kept, and the location superb.

We try our very hardest to accommodate specific room requests, however, in very rare situations, we do have to make some room adjustments for what would be the best for all concerned, and impacting guests the least. In this particular case, it would have required us to move another guest two times during their stay, which we considered a major inconvenience. In this situation, the reviewer was moved from a standard room to our suite – a definite room upgrade. The view was of the twin sister church of the one mentioned in the review. In the original room, the view was across a parking area and a street to the church. We try and contact all affected parties when this rare situation arises, and we apologize that, for whatever reason, it wasn’t done this time. Thank you for the comments on the carpet, we were unable to completely get the soiled area clean from the previous guests ourselves, and actually had the carpet professionally cleaned the next day. All our dining utensils and food are in the open. We would have been delighted to provide assistance, had we thought a guest was unsure of where things were. I try and make myself available during the morning to guest’s needs and conversation. We were at 100% occupancy during that week, and I’m sure we were represented in the dining area.

My fiance' and I stayed at the Magnolia Inn and had a wonderful time. The attention to detail made us feel like we were family, not just guests. Susan and Robert were fantastic hosts. The inn is cozy and elegant. A must for anyone looking for a romantic getaway in the quaint town of Jacksonville.

A visit to wonderful Jacksonville was highlighted by Magnolia Inn. Outstanding experience, exceptionally comfortable bed, great breakfast and lush surroundings. The hosts saw to every detail and made us feel special.

Outstanding visit. Jacksonville is wonderful, and the Magnolia Inn is the perfect place to stay. Wonderful room, extremely comfortable bed, and luscious grounds were only exceeded by the Innkeepers attention to detail. This place is really top shelf.
