On 3 acres with a parkland setting, we sit at the base of more than 2000 acres of forested open space. The English Cottage Home perched on a bluff well removed from the street was built in 1907. Craftsman touches abound and all the common rooms are generous in size and comfort. In remodeling and decorating, we have honored the house's original nature while not forgetting modern life's comforts and convenience. All of our furnishings reflect the house's heyday from the 1920's though the 1950's. The grounds are always a work in progress. Adding to the abundance of Cedar, Fir, Chestnut and native maples, we have added over 20,000 daffodils, 60 rose bushes, and 50 Miniature Japanese Maples. The restoration of the original terraced gardens is well underway and there is almost always something in bloom. To the east and south are rolling hills, farm lands, and the Persimmon Country Club and Golf Course. To the west a few miles sits the wonderfully livable city of Portland. Two miles to the north sits Historic Gresham (Oregon's 4th largest city). The Columbia Gorge, Historic Scenic Highway, the world famous Multnomah Falls, and Mount Hood are all just a quick car ride away. The Springwater Trail Corridor , a mile up the road, boasts a paved hiking and biking trail that winds its way to the Willamette River. We sit in heart of all that the Great North West has to offer. On our outdoor Veranda and Patio, we can host Weddings and Events up to 90 persons. In our lovely dining room, cast your eyes on the Southern Buttes and enjoy a great full course breakfast and some of the West's Best Coffee.

This beautifully restored vintage home is secluded in a forested area yet close to all shopping and dining in the area. Patrick is an outstanding chef who provides a wide array of tasty yet healthy vegetarian breakfast treats. Every item is prepared with fresh local ingredients. Our favorite room is the upstairs Parisian Room. We discovered Forest Spring Bed and Breakfast in 2008 and just completed our eighth stay.

Entered from the sun room through a french door into a formal entry. The spacious bathroom with claw foot tub and great views of the pond and the hills of East Portland is to the right. The Barcelona inspired bedroom is to the left. The bedroom has a built-in queen sized bed that boasts the best night's sleep in the entire house. Many custom features makes a stay in this room the perfect get away.

The Sun Room is a salon shared by the two upper level rooms(The Barcelona/Parisian). It is banked by windows on two sides with terrific views of the forested hillside above and our spring fed pond below. There is a quiet reading and writing area with two oversized chairs and a writing desk. On the other side there is a very comfortable conversation area that seats 4. If both upper rooms are booked together, the Sun Room sleeps an additional 2 people. The upper level booked by one party is the equivelant to a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Suite

The San Francisco is located on the main floor of the home. Sunny and bright with a great view up the the forested hillside. A queen size pillow topped mattress with 800 Count Egyptian Cotton Sheets make for a very comfortable night's sleep. This room has a private sitting room that sleeps an additional person. A spacious private bath is located in the adjacent hallway.

Forest Springs Bed and Breakfast (B&B) in Gresham near Portland, Oregon is amazing and I would highly recommend it. I stayed at this B&B over the Easter long weekend, traveling from Vancouver, Canada. Patrick is a culinary genius and made mouthwatering, unique breakfast meals that kept me going well past lunch. One of my favourite meals he made was a blueberry soufflé with fresh fruit, agave nectar and freshly whipped cream. Everything he made was healthy yet incredibly flavourful - simply amazing. I would recommend Forest Springs Bed and Breakfast just for that! The B&B is beautiful and surrounded by forest - we even saw a wild deer when we first arrived at the front porch! Our room was very well kept and every surface we came into contact with was spotless. I noticed that Patrick only used "green" products to clean the B&B and all his practices were incredibly eco-friendly. The bed was also the most comfortable I've ever slept in - the sheets were SO incredibly soft. I became so well rested during my time there. On top of that, the B&B was just a 20 minute drive away from downtown Portland, Oregon. I returned back to Vancouver incredibly relaxed and satisfied. I would highly recommend Forest Springs Bed and Breakfast in Gresham near Portland, Oregon for its eco-friendly/green practices and culinary excellence.
