Edwin K Bed & Breakfast

We were about to start south from Tillamook on a vacation tour of the Oregon coast, but we needed some advice from locals about how far we might expect to get on the first day, considering the scenery we were likely to want to photograph. The unanimous opinion was that we should not plan on going farther than Florence. It was very late to try to get a room, for one night, in a B&B, but our luck was in, and Marv and Laurie had a room on the ground floor available. The room was spotless, spacious and very restful, with a door out into a garden with a small waterfall. They gave us excellent recommendations for dinner, and a splendid breakfast the next morning. A little forgetfulness while packing resulted in our leaving a couple of jackets in the armoire. Marv called, and on learning that we were not heading back their way, mailed them to our home, where they arrived even before we did! A wonderful place, delightful hosts and a very memorable visit! We will not hesitate to recommend the Edwin K to any of our friends headed towards Florence. Warren and Dorothy

We stumbled upon this location somewhat by accident and quickly agreed to spend the night after a nice tour of the historic Craftsman house. Our room was cozy and restful, with a waterfall right outside our door. Our hosts were kind and accomodating. Breakfast was amazing, and the courses just kept coming. We enjoyed hearing about the home, the history and the area attractions. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast, and after an experience like this, it will not be my last! We stayed at the Edwin K for four nights using it as a launch point for our Central Oregon Coast adventures. Marv and Laurie were fasntasic hosts making us feel like family. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts (yes all four we had) were exceptionally well prepared and served. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking at the Oregon coast.

If you are looking for an awesome place to stay along the coast, look no more. Edwin K is a fantastic experience. Marv and Laurie own the place and they are very friendly and actually come out and spend time with you. The stay is wonderful and the 5 course breakfast is out of this world. The owners Marv & Laurie were the most gracious people I have met in all my stay at B&Bs. They made me feel welcome from the moment we met. I was there with a group of friends on a Christian women retreat. It was wonderful! The Edwin K was the perfect place to have our retreat! Not only was the home beautiful, but it was very peaceful, cozy and inviting. The breakfasts were absolutely divine! There was so much to eat! Marv is an excellent cook! Stayed for 2 nights in the Indian summer room, and loved every min. of it. Marv and Laurie were some of the best hosts we have ever had at a B&B. Breakfast was amazingly delicious and filling. We will be back and recommend it highly!

My wife & I love to stay at B&B's to experience the variety, diversity, personalized attention and character of each property. We have many wonderful memories throughout the country and overseas. However, we would rate our experience at the Edwin K B&B as one of the top 2 or 3 properties we have been guests at. From the moment we pulled up to the beautifully restored antique house surrounded by flower gardens and were warmly greeted by our host (Marv), we knew it would be an outstanding experience. Our room was warmed appointed and very comfortable. However, we wern't fully prepared for the breakfast the following morning. To say simply a "five course" breakfast won't even begin to verbalize this culinary experience. Marv & Laurie are exceptional cooks, gracious hosts and livened up our hour (or so) with tales of their experiences leading them up to B&B ownership. They are exceptional people who enjoy what they do & treat their guests as family, making it hard to leave & anxious to return again.

We are from Vancouver, BC and stayed two nights on our honeymoon road trip along the Oregon coast to California. The Edwin K is first rate all the way! It offers a personable home-like feel in an atmosphere of elegance in a great town. The gourmet breakfast will keep you going all day and the afternoon Sherry is a nice added touch. Marv and Laurie are wonderful hosts who offer tips and advice for an entertaining stay in Florence.

Last summer my wife and I spent some time at the Edwin K Bed & Breakfast. We got there a little early and the owners (Marv and Laurie) were kind enough to give us a tour of their historic home. We were able to see most of the rooms before the other guests arrived. Each room was uniquely themed but what impressed me the most was that each had its own bathroom with bath/shower. I had never stayed at a B&B before for the main reason that it did not appeal to me to share a bathroom with strangers. But at the Edwin K that is not an issue. The location of the Edwin K is also a plus as it is right in Old Florence along the Siuslaw River – just walking distance from a number of shops and restaurants. And Marv and Laurie will let you know the best places to eat. But don’t expect to be too hungry until the afternoon – the breakfast at the Edwin K is a feast. I believe we had a 5-course meal as Marv showed off the skills that he gleaned from his decades of experience in the restaurant business. As each course is brought out Marv describes the food and shares information about Florence as well as the historical significance of the Edwin K. It’s rather entertaining. I was very impressed with the owners in how they made everyone feel welcome and at home. They’re very friendly and easy to talk to and for someone like me, who had some trepidation at trying out a B&B for the first time, made the experience one that I wouldn’t mind repeating.

From the moment we were greeted at the door by Marv until we left the next morning I felt a warmth of hospitality in this beautiful place by the sea. I was sorry we didn't have more time to spend there. We may have to travel back to Florence just to experience it again. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast OUTSTANDING. Wow, what a beautiful, relaxing, truly enjoyable experience! We spent three nights at the Edwin K and look forward to visiting again. Marv and Laurie were excellent, attentive hosts. They were very knowledgable about the local history and all the sights to see and things to do. Marv had wonderful stories to share, and they really made us feel like part of the family. We have stayed with Marv and Laurie several times in the past few years. They have become friends and extended family. Always comfortable to return to.

We had a great stay in this wonderful (expanded) Sears house for three days over the 4th of July. Marv and Laurie were excellent hosts. The location is a short work to the old, renovated part of Florence. Marv provided great suggestions to tour the Oregon coast north and south of Florence. The coast was great-long wide sandy beaches, huge sand dunes, rocky beaches, cliffs, parks, huge Spruce and fir trees, sea lions, and much more. A different multi-course breakfast was served each day and you will not leave hungry.

We spent three days in early June, 2010 at the Edwin K B&B. We were greatly impressed by the exceptional food, rooms and hospitality of the owners, Marv and Laurie. We were treated as valued family members, and the hosts made every effort to make our stay memorable. With its convenient location in Old Town Florence, the Edwin K is an ideal accommodation for those who want to take in the sights of the central Oregon coast.

We were driving in Florence and trying to decide if we were going back to Eugene or staying the night in Florence. As we were looking for hotel, we found this bed and breakfast. Never have stayed at a B&B, we were a bit apprehensive. Turns out staying there was an excellent choice. The room was great, had a nice bathroom and access to a quaint patio. The food was awsome, absolutely amazing and the hosts were excellent! As we were leaving we were already planning a trip back.

Marv and Laurie are excellent hosts and made Christmas morning a like-being-back-home experience. Breakfast entrees were unique and delicious.

Our visit to the Edwin K was an amazing experience. The host is kind, friendly and gracious, their home is beautiful and historic, and the 5 course breakfast was gourmet with an abundance of local flavor. Thanks for making our stay on the central Oregon Coast so terrific!

Edwin K is the best B & B experience we have had this year! The breakfast was super, the atmosphere warm and the proprietors (Marv and Laurie) extremely helpful with information about the area. Will put their place on our list to revisit when at the Oregon coast.

With Old Town shopping; the beautiful Florence bridge; and lakes, beaches, and dunes aplenty nearby; we enjoyed the awesome sanctuary of the Winter Room. The innkeepers made themselves available at any turn and made us feel like one of the family while knowing how to relaxedly allow us our privacy. The handsome and handcrafted breakfast superbly exceeded our expectations. Presented on crystal and china in the warmth of a beautiful and down-to-earth home, it provided a superb center to the morning conversation of the guests, who incidentally were delightful. All left full and satisfied. We hope to get the chance to be back. Thank you, Marv and Laurie for your great innkeeping. This made a special gift for my wife on her birthday.

Marv and Laurie offer unsurpassed hospitality and the warmest of welcomes. We stayed in the Summer rooms which was exceptionally comfortable with top quality linens and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and included homemade jams, breads and scones. Next time, we plan to stay longer. Everything was very well done. The atmosphere was very friendly and we immediately felt welcome. The sitting and dining areas were beautifully put together. Our room was pretty and clean. The location was perfect for shopping in Old Town and the breakfast was wonderful. It was definitely a high point in our vacation. We would certainly stay there again if given the opportunity.

We've visited four different times. The service, food & hospitality gets better every visit. The rooms are immaculate and private. Definitely a 4 star property!

My husband and I have been their twice. The first time was for our anniversary. When we drove up the house was decorated in beautiful Christmas lights. We stayed two nights and had the best time. The breakfast is to dye for! Everything was so wonderful, that the next summer we brought my husbands parents for two nights and they too thought the breakfast was wonderful. Marv and Laurie are so wonderful and knowledgable about the area. Thank you Marv and Laurie.

We visited Edwin K B&B in early April. We hadn't found anywhere to stay overnight yet and called that afternoon to see if Edwin K had any rooms available. They had one available and we made arrangements to stay the night. We were amazed at the room we had, with full kicthen, bath, and living room which we shared with no one. We wished we had the time to stay longer. The breakfast was good as well. We had yogurt with fresh fruit on top, another cup of fresh fruit, a croissant, as well as another item or two. We were impressed with the service, the room and the food. We also could see the sand dunes looming just across the street which our 4 year old thought were great. I would highly recommend checking this B&B out if you are staying in the area. There are many things to do within a short drive. Our favorite was tide pooling. And the view from Cape Perpetua is stunning.

We spent three pampered nights at the Edwin K in 2007. We plan to stay a couple of nights this fall. Laurie and Marv are charming hosts and I couldn't find a thing to complain about. They anticipate all your needs.

This bed and breakfast was beautiful, very clean, had wonderfully welcoming hosts, and a breakfast to die for. We will be back again, and are telling all our friends to try it out!

I first stayed at the Edwin K when I was visiting Florence on business. A group of us rented the entire house during the week over the winter. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. We had to be at business meetings fairly early in the morning and Marv was up with fresh coffee every day. One day we stayed later at the house to take advantage of the 5-course breakfast - it was wonderful. The best part of the day was returning to the house in the evening. After a long day of work we came back to sherry and cookies by the fire in the lovely living room. After our bit of relaxation we sauntered down the street a variety of restaurants. No need to get back in the car, and we ate at a different great place every night. The restaurants usually had a special deal for Edwin K guests such as free appetizer or dessert. I enjoyed my business stay at the Edwin K so much, that I went back later for a vacation visit.

This was our very first B&B experience and now we've been back every year for the past 4 years. We tried one other place and it didnt even compare so we stick with Edwin K. It truely feels like home and the other guests are always a pleasure. Marv and Laurie are fantastic and make you feel right at home. The rooms are cozy and the food is fantastic as well the company and people you'll meet. You've got to give this one a try. I am so glad that we found it early in our lives as well as our relationship so we'll have many years to spend there.

My husband and I had the privilege of staying at this beautiful Bed & Breakfast back in June. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting things to do in the quaint, but gorgeous town of Florence, Oregon! The owners really make you feel comfortable and are SO nice. The rooms are themed by season, and have a very unique, antique set up. The multiple course breakfast was enough to keep us coming back--FANTASTIC. I couldn't rave more about this place, but you'll have to go see it for yourself. Check the website frequently, because they run specials a lot!! A perfect little get-away! Thanks Marv and Laurie!! This was a great place to stay. I will definitely go back. We only stayed 1 night, but wished would could have stayed more.

The inn is wonderful. Very warm and loving. The owners gave their guests flowers, box of chocolates, wine, and goblets: a dinner for Valentine's at an Italian restaurant included.

This was a lovely B&B in a small town. It was a pleasant surprise coming off the main highway. The one drawback we had was that there was no TV in the room. After a long day of sightseeing I like to veg-out by watching TV before retiring. Other than that, it was a delightful stay. The innkeepers were very pleasant in telling the history of the house and making us feel at home. The Breakfast was outstanding. Anne Allen

My husband and I stayed there last Spring. Our children had gotten us a gift certificate. The owners are wonderful people and the breakfast is fantastic. We can't wait to go back there again and visit.

I can not say enough about the edwin K,my wife and I have never found a spot that we can really get the rest we need, Marv & Laurie treat us like family! They are the best!
