River Walk Inn

I stayed on Christmas Eve. Although the family had gathered for Christmas, Donna made a lovely breakfast and took the time to visit. The Rose Room is large and comfortable, a place to be as well as to sleep, which is just what I was looking for. The location is great, with good walking available right out the front door.

What a great weekend escape. We have been enjoying all the comforts of this wonderful Inn for years. Everytime the food is even more amazing!

Had a great visit here. Shared a room with a business colleague, and it worked out perfectly. The room was pleasant and spacious, with an adjoining bath. Would have preferred a separate shower, but the shower within the footed tub was fine, too. Breakfast was delicious -- coffee good & strong! The hosts were very nice and welcoming, and made our breakfast, especially, feel like we were at home -- awesome conversation. The only unfortunate thing is that the Inn is currently for sale, so who knows how long this gem will be around for? Enjoy your stay while you can!

We've stayed here a number of times - always in the fall when we bike 3 hrs. from our home near Corvallis to Eugene. This B&B is right off the bike path and in an interesting neighborhood. It's not high-class - lots of history and interesting people, neighborhood pubs, eateries, etc. Can walk or bike downtown to a play, concert, dinner, the farmers' market or across the bridge to the mall or cinema. Just walking the path through the park is lovely. Donna and Richard are excellent hosts - always very accommodating and make helpful suggestions on what to see and try.Numerous times they've gone beyond the expectations of B&B hosts (e.g. they drove through the neighborhood to look for us when they thought we were caught in a downpour on foot one night!) The house is a gem and nicely furnished. Donna's breakfasts are always outstanding and creative. We've always enjoyed getting to know the other guests (from around the country and world!) around the breakfast table.

a pleasant stay for sure. easy to find, generous sized room. hostess facilitates an environment where guests can make connections if they want. no dogs and no potpourri, a plus for those of us with sensitive noses. I will recommend it to friends who also have students at the University.

Donna and Richard were very pleasant hosts. They made us feel comfortable and welcome as soon as we arrived and the feeling stayed throughout our stay. Their home is beautiful and very tastefully decorated - to include the teapot collection and other antiques located throughout. They are nestled in a quiet neighborhood extremely close to the river walk. This was our first Bed and Breakfast stay and because of the experience with the River Walk Inn we will continue to stay in them. Thanks Donna and Richard!

I stay at this inn 3 or 4 times a year- and I take great comfort in knowing what to expect, a quiet, clean, beautiful room and inn. A good bed, and wi-fi. Donna and Richard have become friends. They know all the important info for Eugene, including the best places for my college student's apt. decor. And they do Tea correctly, loose leaf, and boiling water. I feel cared for and spoiled each time.

Company was great, breakfast deliciousss! Yummy scones with homemade lemon deliciousesness was the best way to start a morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Good luck with the next stage of life and being emptynesters! I don't think my parents have ever looked back...they enjoy it waaaaay too much!

Thank you for the free upgrade to the Orchid Room, it was a pleasant surprise. It was a lovely room with a nicely appointed bathroom. Loved the bath rug!! So soft and cushy, luxurious. We should have asked where you got it. On the other hand, the rug in the main room area, made of mostly sisal I think, was not comfy under bare feet. Everything else was delicious. Donna and Richard are wonderful innkeepers. They are extremely well informed and friendly. The house is beautiful and the gardens are as well. The name of the inn is well chosen as it is just a minute or so walk to a wonderful river bike and pedestrian path system and community recreation center. We definitely will be back when we go to Eugene again.

We chose the River Walk Inn for the proximity to the park and a chance to use their complimentary bicycles; the riverside park system is amazing! Their location was quiet and welcoming and only a few minutes to town by car. The innkeepers were very warm and offered great suggestions and complimentary port and beer! The breakfasts were delicious and their new kitten was irresistable. We enjoyed our stay and chatting with the other guests at breakfast.

Loved it! Wonderful location - close to the River Walk and Rose Garden. Those Breakfasts!!!!! Outstanding - something different and wonderful EVERY morning AND a different and wonderful "special-blend" pot of tea, too!!! Enjoyed being left to go and come as we pleased with plenty of "alone" time but the innkeepers were "available" if we needed anything. I'll stay there again on my next trip to Eugene!!!

We arrived very late and were greeted at the door by our innkeeper. The mattress was amazingly comfortable and we found out that it was made in Eugene. Our group comes to the Eugene area each year to enjoy different food and activities. This year we decided to stay at the River Walk Inn instead of our usual hotel. What a great experience!! The Inn was so lovely and peaceful, the gardens beautiful and the breakfast was the very best. Our thanks to Donna and Richard for being such gracious host.

This is a very quiet B&B in a great location. Short walk to the River Walk. There are also some great dining experiences within walking distance. We enjoyed our 4 night stay. Eugene is a unique town and this B&B fits right in.

The service was great! I booked my room with very late notice and Richard and Donna were happy to accommodate my late arrival, and a special dietary food request. All my needs were meet, and I had a joyful time sharing breakfast with the other guests. A great location in Eugene, and a comfortable place to stay.

The owners are terrific hosts and very accomodating. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone!

We were seeking a great place to stay to celebrate our 25th anniversary and a River Walk Inn was the perfect place. The house is so beautiful inside and out and feels just like the home away from home we all want. We loved walking the path nearby to the rose garden and mall. The hosts are wonderful and provide a very delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

I stay here 3 - 4 times a year when I come to town on business-- Appreciate the owners warmth, humor, food, and art. I love tea, and Donna knows how to buy good tea and prepare it. No tepid teabags allowed. Coffee drinkers are happy too. This place isn't cutsey-- it is tasteful. The innkeepers know Eugene and give excellent information / advice to guests. I always recommend it to friends.

We've stayed here many times, and it always surpasses our experiences at other lodgings.

Close proximity to the riverwalk. Friendly, informative hosts. Spacious and inviting room. All this makes this B&B a good value.

The River Walk Inn is delightful, charming and homey. Donna and Richard have incorporated so many interesting details into their home - a puzzle in your room, beer and wine almost at cost, high quality soaps, bikes in the garage and a gift shop. Many of the paintings around the house are Donna's own watercolors. They go out of their way to help and ease guests quickly into the Eugene community. Donna even took me with her to a wool festival which happened to occur the weekend we visited. All this is wonderful, but on top of it are fantastic breakfasts. One morning we had waffles with a hot berry sauce, applewood smoked sausage, and fresh fruit cocktail with a splash of limoncello. We had to depart early our second morning, but Donna was up early making eggs with red sauce. Imagine gently fried eggs nestled on a bed of polenta, smothered in spiced tomato sauce and garnished with grated parmesan cheese and a dollop of pesto. We refreshed ourselves after the eggs with poached pears. It was delicious! River Walk Inn is the most comfortable, welcoming and tasty bed and breakfast in which I've ever had the pleasure to stay.

Found the River Walk Inn on the Purple Roofs website. Donna and Richard were awesome hosts, the facility was very clean and comfortable. When we first arrived in the late afternoon our room felt a bit warm to us and they were right on it. WE got our tour and were left to our own devices. We had a great time, the food was incredible. Donna even went out of her way to separate the fruit in the morning to accommodate for my melon allergy! We will be return guests.

The Bed and Breakfast had all the little things you would need on your stay down to robes. We'll be going back. The hosts are great at beings hosts friendly and helpful.

The inn was clean and comfortable but the rooms need updating. Our room had the feeling of a "room for rent" rather than a tastefully decorated B &B. Breakfasts were good and nicely presented. The innkeeper was helpful and friendly. All in all, it was a good value.

This is a lovely, comfortable B&B in a great location in Eugene, Oregon. The innkeepers were very kind and helpful. The bedrooms and bathrooms nicely sized. Would definitely return.

Donna's familiarity with the area and suggestions helped us to enjoy an area that we had never visited before. The flat river walk path enabled us to take a nice leisurely stroll after an outstanding breakfast.

Friendly hosts, amazingly good coffee, bicycle available to ride on nearby bike lanes along the Willamette River, and altogether warmly welcoming and enjoyable.

Beautiful large well appointed room but WAY too many teapots everywhere. We stayed for several days and found Richard to be a fabulous and engaging host while Donna wasn't as "welcoming". I think the breakfasts were okay but a little pedestrian so maybe just oversold online. While the room was great I found it too expensive and if back in the area, I'll stay in a hotel that offers a complimentary breakfast.

The whole place was immaculate, the room spacious, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was different and delicious each day.

As I post the rating for the River Walk Inn, I notice that my stay met my expectations - but that's because I have high standards for B&B's. If you have high standards too - you will be pleased with the warm hospitality and comfortable rooms.

It is so enjoyable to stay in a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood just a block away from a river walk. The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, the light in the room adding a comfortable feeling. The whole place is spotless. The hosts are considerate and non intrusive. Breakfast was excellent with a delicious homemade sauce for the french toast. The common area has magazines, music, books, art work, newspapers etc. It was a great relaxing area. If you want a clean and comfortable place to stay to have a quiet sleep, this is it. I will be back!

We had a wonderful stay with very nice innkeepers. This is a very roomy Inn with comfortable beds. Breakfasts were lovely. We enjoyed it very much.

Greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to our room. Recommended a fun restaurant to enjoy that evening, with detailed directions to get there. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable, appreciated availability of robes. Bathroom was down the hall for us, but not inconvenient. Bathroom was very attractive and clean, shower very good. Gave us good directions the next morning to get to our destination, after making sure our needs were met for food. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Have stayed at the River Walk Inn twice, nice and quiet, rooms are very comfortable, breakfast is the best! Richard and Donna do a super job!!

We originally were going to stay just one night, but a small change of plans led to us booking another night on very short notice. The innkeepers were extremely accommodating and booked us an additional night easily. They were also very generous with their time and their meals were absolutely delicious, most notably the pumpkin pancakes with cranberry sauce. The rooms were charmingly appointed and well laid out.

Just a block to the lovely trail along the Willamette River. The bed was comfortable and furnishings were tasteful. A delightful cup of afternoon tea was served by the friendly innkeepers, and the breakfast was scrumptious. Compared with local hotel rates, this lodging is well worth the modest price paid.

This was our third stay at River Walk Inn, and our second Christmas there. We stayed four nights this time, and had wonderful breakfasts. Our hosts, Donna and Richard, were gracious and interesting. They must be doing something right -- another couple who stayed last Christmas also came back this year!

Donna & Richard are wonderful and their home is gorgeous. It's located close to shopping and restaurants and they had suggestions for things to do and see. I very much enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again. Oh, and they catered to my dietary restrictions and made fabulous whole grain french toast with apples and a tart English cheese... mmm!

Stayed for three nights in the Orchid Room. It is quite spacious and pleasant. Breakfasts were excellent and accommodated the member of our family who cannot eat gluten.

Since I travel to Eugene every few months, it makes a big difference staying at the same place each time so the innkeepers get to know your preferences. This is the case at River Walk Inn where Donna and Richard are always there to greet me in the late afternoon. The rooms are VERY clean, beds terrifically comfortable, and breakfast is abundant and always delicious. This inn provides a great value!

We stayed at the River Walk Inn during a conference in Eugene instead of at the conference hotel for three reasons: 1) to have a very quiet homey place to stay 2) to have easy access to the River Walk and bicycling paths so we could get exercise and walk to the conference 3) to meet other like minded people. All three goals were met and exceeded, plus the art and whimsy of the decor were marvelous. Donna is a gifted water colorist and her paintings and those of friends adorn the walls. We travel a lot and love B&B's and small hotels and this one is now on our list. We will recommend the River Walk Inn to friends and family, and plan on staying here again soon.

We love this B&B, its laid-back atmosphere, Donna's wonderful creative delicious breakfasts, the meandering walking trail along the stunning Willamotte River just steps from the front door. Comfortable rooms and common areas. Lovely gardens. Friendliness abounds!

So near the center of Eugene, yet so very quiet! We could hear the river from the upstairs porch, where we sat after dinner with friends. From the Rose Room we could open the window and hear the river as well. the neighborhood is lovely - a gem - an Emerald in the emerald city! Very cozy and comfortable, inviting and elegant.

Traveling with an 80+ Mom requires careful planning. This was her first trip with a Bed & Breakfast. The Inn's comfortable rooms and Donna's wonderful breakfast totally won Mom over to the B&B experience. We both really loved the walkable paths along the river, the rose garden and the suggestion for a local eating establishment within easy walking distance of the Inn.

Richard and Donna were fantastic hosts and really made us feel at home. They were very kind and generous and we enjoyed our many conversations with them. The room was perfect and everything was clean and well kept. Easy walking distance to great restaurants and Ninkasi Brewing (big bonus for me). You will stay here.

Very nice owner/operators. beautiful property. you might not expect such a nice place down a fairly normal residential street, but it is very nice. river a block away, gardens, nearby restaurants. good times.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the River Walk Inn. Richard and Donna are the perfect hosts and make your stay wonderful! The rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable, and a great value. The breakfasts were to die for! I especially enjoyed the pancakes with spiced pear sauce. Being that close to the river path made exploring Eugene easy. Plus, the neighborhood has a lot to offer in entertainment, beer (brew pubs and breweries), and colorful experiences. It is also a far better value than any of the hotels in Eugene with the added benefit of gracious and friendly hosts. I would happily stay there any time!

Location near the riverwalk walk/bike path and bikes available for guests was the highlight of my stay.

Comfortable and relaxed, Donna and Richard provide a truly homey setting, close to river and bike paths. Free wi-fi and bikes a plus. Will go back for sure. Great breakfast!

Richard and Donna welcomed us and adjusted to our needs easily. The room was very comfortable and quiet, and our stay was excellent!

Breakfasts were memorable - just excellent! We stayed here while attending a Wings Seminar and found it quiet and very comfortable. Donna pampered us with things like Valentine's cookies and was thoughtful, attentive, and helpful. The house is full of things to look at (artwork, teapots, antiques) and a great gift shop. Both Donna and Richard were great hosts!

Having stayed at many B & B's, this one was fine. Host and hostess folksy, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. It met our expectations, but can't say it exceeded expectations. Any B & B would really have to be over the top to do that. Location WAS great!

The charming B&B reflects also the couple. Lovely place, good location to the bike/walking path along river & yummie food. A+ place!

Richard and Donna go out of their way to make you feel at home by providing comfortable, homey sitting areas, outstanding food, spot-on-information about the area, and even bikes for local touring!

Owners Donna and Richard were there for helpful suggestions, willingly tried to help with special requests, served delicious variations of breakfast, and made you feel comfortable to sit with them and have engaging conversations on every changing topic. The Inn had large rooms, large bathrooms, and a large comfortable common living room!

Exceptionally helpful in therms of local information. Welcoming, providing friendly attitude toward visitors. Lovely B&B near parks and located in hip Eugene neighborhood.

Our family enjoyed a pleasant two night stay at the River Walk Inn -- there were 7 of us and we rented all three rooms. The house is large and comfortable, well kept up, and nicely decorated. The beds are comfortable -- even the fold out bed I used (and hotel beds sometimes hurt my back). The bathrooms are large and each have a shower/bath although one room doesn't have the bathroom attached -- but it has a large balcony instead. We enjoyed Donna's breakfasts -- she gets up early and makes much of it from scratch. We had pancakes the first morning, and I think they were the best I have ever had -- to call them pancakes is an understatement. They had a special cheese sauce in between and they were topped with home made pear sauce, walnuts, and thick slices of ripe bananas. The next morning we had an egg quiche with fresh asparagus and zucchini, followed by dessert of cooked apple slices with over a slice of short cake. Donna collects tea pots and they're everywhere, but they're tastefully displayed and quite interesting. The morning we were leaving I noticed a water color painting on the wall that Donna had signed. When I asked her about it, she told me of a few others around the house that she had done. Donna's husband, Richard, does a great job with the garden and there are many art objects around in both the front and back yard. The location is very nice -- the Willamette River is just a short walk away and there's a neat biking/walking trail along the bank that connects with many other trails around the city. The neighborhood is quiet but not too far from the center of town. They have bikes to lend to guests and I enjoyed riding along the river, over to the UO law school, and then up to Hendricks Park. All in all, we had a great time there and I would stay there again.

The location is great, very close to almost any place you want to go in Eugene.

River Walk Inn excels with its wonderful, quiet rooms decorated in classic bed and breakfast style. The hosts are extremely nice and attentive, but not over-the-top/salesmanlike so. The best thing about the Inn is its close location right next to the best part of the river and river park, yet close enough to downtown, UO, freeways etc. We rented the entire Inn for a family event and everyone was extremely satisfied. You will not find a better bed and breakfast in Eugene, and the rates are very competitive compared to most other bed and breakfasts.

We met my wife's brother at the Inn for a three-day stay while we looked for a house in Eugene. We are planning to move there in retirement in the near future. Richard and Donna were delightful to work with and most accomodating. The rooms were spacious, clean and relaxing. The library was wonderful, and the use of the computer turned out to be a real blessing. We walked in the nearby park and even over to the shopping center via the bike bridge over the river. Directions were easy to follow and the neighborhood was quiet at night. Breakfasts were an especial treat and Donna is a great cook. The grounds kept by Richard were delightful. All in all we had a wonderful stay.

What a location! Right on the river park and bike/walking path, an easy walk to the 5th St restaurants and the Hult, and a bike ride to UO. Also to the Mall, if shopping is important. It's a very quiet neighborhood, too. Donna and Richard are most pleasant people, good conversationalists, outstanding hosts. Donna's breakfasts last till dinner. We don't need any urging to go back here!
