Built in 1915, The Carlton Inn Bed & Breakfast is located within the charming community of Carlton, known as “The Wine Capital of Oregon.” A short walk out the front door you’ll discover over a dozen tasting rooms and wineries as well as unique shops and wonderful restaurants. Within The Carlton Inn B&B, find four comfortable guestrooms each with private bath, equipped with fluffy towels, bath and body products, and blow dryer; a queen size bed encased in silky smooth sheets, and covered with a warm, fluffy comforter; a living room with wood burning fireplace, and a separate TV/game area. You can also relax on our shaded back porch overlooking the garden. Best of all is our multi-course tasty breakfast prepared from scratch, using local products and ingredients when possible, some coming from my own garden.

5 out of 5BEST Mini-Vacation

My husband has the best luck picking B&B's, and he's done it again with The Carlton Inn. From the moment we arrived we knew we made the right decision booking at The Carlton Inn. Heidi and Jake warmly greated us, and since we were late she called a local restaurant to see if they would still serve us. She treated us every morning to delicious, hearty, gourmet breakfasts made from local ingredients. She is also a terrific resource for wine tasting, not sending all her guests to the same places. She gets to know you and sends you to the perfect wineries for tasting. This is one vacation we will not forget and are planning our return. We highly recommend staying at The Carlton Inn.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Carlton Inn a couple of weeks ago. A group of us were attending a wedding in the wine country and all wanted to stay together. One of the recommendations of the bride and groom was The Carlton Inn. We made the right choice picking this as our boarding for the weekend!!!! The house is amazing, the rooms are adorable and comfortable, the bathrooms have all the amenities and supplies one would need, and the entire place is spotless! Heidi and Jake the doggie are great hosts and very fun to hang out with! The breakfasts are healthy, delicious and huge! You will not be unsatisfied with one aspect of your stay! I for one cannot wait to go back!

Innkeeper was very friendly and outgoing. Great suggestions on local activities, dining, etc. Went out of their way to accommodate. Jake, the Brittany Springer is so sweet. Loved the experience.

The Carlton Inn is a wonderful place to stay in Oregon wine country. Heidi greeted us with open arms. She made dinner reservations for us, and called to find out which wineries were still open on a Sunday in the late afternoon. Our breakfast each morning had fresh fruit, homemade granola/yogurt, a baked treat, and a hot breakfast. There was a nice living room area to hang out in, and it was supplied with a lot of books and travel material. We had access to a table in the back yard which was a nice place to enjoy a lunch or a takeout meal. She has some local wine available for purchase too. We highly recommend the Carlton Inn on your next visit to Oregon wine country.

June 26, 2009
The innkeeper is a wealth of information about the local wine growing region. The inn is in the heart of wine country--perfect for going in any direction. The gourmet breakfast is superb. We loved the comfy furniture, sitting rooms, and wireless access. Heidi arranged private wine tastings, dinner reserv., and wine shipping for us, including breakfast-to-go. Thank you Heidi, Edward, and Jake--their sweet dog. Terri & Ross

4.6 out of 5Great for Visiting Wine Country
August 14, 2008
The Carlton Inn is, hands down, the best B&B I have stayed in. The attention to detail is what makes this place stand out: bathrobes; chocolates; and exceptional hosts with intimate knowledge of the local wineries. The ingredients in breakfast are fresh, local (sometimes from the backyard), and from scratch. One breakfast I had there started with yogurt and granola (both homemade) with seasonal fruit. Then was a cherry tomato salad with balsamic vinegar and basil oil, fried blue potatoes, and an omelet with wild mushrooms and Stilton cheese. The only downsides: there are no king-sized beds, and it takes about one hour to drive to Portland.
