Fantastic location, warm and friendly welcome, everything you could wish for from movies to board games, band-aids to granola bars and a very comfortable bed. Bring your own breakfast or enjoy Barbara's home-made scones or go to Mattie's pancake house in nearby Brookings. There's a huge deck for watching the ocean and steps down to the quiet beach where you can watch the birds and the sunset and sunrise. A home from home. Highly recommended.

Nice spacious one bedroom unit with a fully stocked kitchenette. Nice large bathroom. Best is the view of the river and ocean! We saw a sea otter on the beach. Nice and clean and comfortable bed. And we could hear the ocean waves!

Lowden's B&B is perched on a knoll that overlooks the junction of the gently moving Winchuck River and the Oregon Coast. The mini-suites are very nicely appointed with simple, but tasteful oak furniture, mini refrig., micro and many amenities. The bedroom is very lovely with a very comfortable bed and charming electric fireplace. The views are in a word...stunning. During my stay I saw playful river otters, Osprey catching fish in the river, a bald eagle, and 3 whales. The access to the beach at the very end of the walkway is a bit tricky as the owners are not allowed to improve the access due to regulations, but just take your time and watch your footing and you are soon enjoying a spectacular beach stroll amidst the gentle waves. The B&B hosts, Barbara and Gary are so friendly and have have thought of everything you might forget available in your suite. They are the perfect hosts....they uncannily know when to make themselves visible and when to disappear and allow you your privacy in this idyllic setting. I have been to many B&B's along the Oregon & California coast and Lowden's will rank as one of my favorites. It's not flashy, overstated or overpriced. It is charming, very comfortable, reasonably priced with a breathtaking setting and hosts who are just wonderful. I also enjoyed meeting their Shih Tzu- Mike, the Siamese cat "Mew" and their newest edition to their family "Jazz" an adorable Pom puppy. The abundance of wildlife visible from your room is amazing...I couldn't stop staring out the windows the whole time I was there. I will definitely return again & again and I highly recommend Lowden's B&B

Very nice place. The rooms are very nicely appointed, furnished, and provisioned. The Lowdens are super friendly and helpful, and at the same time organized and clear to make arrangements with. The view from the rooms is just terrific--waves and beach and sea stacks and trees along a stretch of coast, the river in the foreground flowing into the sea, driftwood abundant here and there, not to mention the constant sound of the surf coming in the sliding-glass door. Easy access to a great beach for a terrific stroll along the sand.

If you're after a quiet visually pleasing vacation, then it has to be Lowden's B&B. Nestled above the beach just passed the California border into Oregon, Lowden's is a wonderful jewel in the ocean rough. Gary and Barbara made this a trip to remember, their location and atmosphere made this B&B and the beach access the perfect place to propose to my girlfriend. Thank you both for making this visit one to remember!

Delightful. The host was invisible but available. Perfect! Plenty to keep us busy. The rocky coast is wonderful. Views are dramatic. Its more like sitting in your home than in a hotel very comfortable Highly recommended.

I was ready for a vacation and I can tell you that the 6 days I spent here were just what I needed. Who could ask for anything more: great suite, the beach at you doorstep, incredible views and great service. The Lowdens treated me as though I was family. Cann't wait for next year and another visit. C.Robidoux, Houston, Tx

I stayed here for a night, and was very impressed with the property, its location, and the warm hospitality of my hosts! My room was very large (separate bedroom and living area) and comfortably furnished. The location is great (I could have literally jumped off the deck into the ocean!). Breakfast was not a "typical B&B breakfast that's served in the kitchen," but rather, was left in my room the previous night. I thought this was actually a nice change so I could set my own schedule in the morning and check out as early as I needed to. Barbara was very welcoming and offered some great local insights on where to eat, what the community is like, etc. Would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling along the Oregon coast!

It was exactly what we wanted: a private suite with beach access and a beautiful view of the ocean as well as the Winchuck River. We wanted a B&B that didn't share a common area, and this was the place for us. We kept our privacy but yet enjoyed meeting and conversing with our hosts when we happened to meet. The southwest exposure kept the wind off the deck and allowed us to sit outside in comfort and bask in the warm sunshine. The beach had sandy areas as well as access to tidal pools. There were no antiques or "themed" rooms but we didn't need them. The Lowdens provided a wonderful warm weekend getaway: it was just the ticket!
