We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose River Inn from the service to the food to the rooms. I was very impressed by how clean, warm and comfortable, and pleasant the rooms throughout the b & b were. The owners were so hospitable and kind...we plan to make it an annual trip back to Rose River Inn.

The Rose River Inn was a cosy refuge from the cold windy town and our hosts were very welcoming and provided fantastic, quiet accommodations with great views. They offered us valuable information and tips for our future travels and entertained us with some town history. Overall it was a welcoming experience and very affordable. The breakfast was good but light.

This is a fantastic B&B. Pam and David are SO nice and accomodating and the room was emaculately clean. Tea and hot cocoa available throughout the day on the stairs, which I loved! They have a HUGE selection of DVD's which was perfect for the night we arrived b/c it was raining and stormy so we snuggled up with a fire, hot chocolate and some movies! Breakfast was really good, we are not super big fans of quiche, but it was very good for quiche. They also serve a heaping bowl of fresh fruit before the main dish and it is fantastic! The room we stayed in, the Rose Room, I believe is the only one with a fireplace and we loved it. Views from the room are of a neighborhood but there are cool houses everywhere so we didnt mind. Lots of cool old nick knacks and stuff in the living and dining rooms. All around - a fantastic place to stay!

Very nice B&B and Inn Keepers. Nice room with a private porch overlooking the water. We hit a cold period in Oregon so the room was a bit chilly for Floridians. Inn did provide a Electric Heater which helped a lot. Breakfast was great. Overall, a great experience. If we get back to Astoria will stay there again.

It's always a pleasure to stay here! Pam & Dave are hospitality personified. The rooms are so comfy, nice touch w/ the wine glasses and corkscrew! Breakfast is surpased only by the beauty of their garden. A review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Penny Lane, cutest little dog on the planet. We will be back!

Great bed and breakfast in a fantastic historic neighborhood. Stayed here for a night while traveling through the area with my sister on vacation. We had the spacious attic suite. Breakfast was good and served in well decorated rooms with fantastic views of the Columbia River. Best flower garden I've ever seen at a B&B (and possibly ever from any house).

The location is ideal, well within walking distance of dlowntown. Our hosts were amiable and so hospitable. In the early amorning it was great to sit on our own enclosed sun porch to view the river and scenery while enjoying a quiet moment of reading and relaxing. before going down to a very healthy and scrumptious breakfast, before we started our day of touring.

We enjoyed the Rose River immensely-delightful food, view, rooms and people!

There is simply no better place to stay in Astoria other than the Rose River B&B. The hosts are charming, the room was wonderful, the breakfast delicious, and the location perfect. Short walk to Drina Daisy, a delightful Bosnian restuarant - have the lamb!

The sunflare room was comfortable and charming. We really liked the sun room. The owners were very hospitable and made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at the Rose River Inn, we booked the River Suite with its beautiful view of the river and ships. David and Pam were very welcoming and provided the guests all the accommodations we needed (and more). The breakfast was fantastic. Would love to stay there if we visit Oregon again.

We stayed a night with Pam and David at their beautiful B&B in Astoria, OR. The room was gorgeous with a view of the Columbia River that was unbeatable! Their hospitality was the best we have ever had at a B&B. David greeted us outside and helped carry our luggage in and up to our room. They were helpful in every way and fun to talk to about owning a B&B. Breakfast was delicious and so filling! Everything you need in Astoria is a short walk from the house so there is no need to drive once you get there. We would definitely go back and hope to make this an annual event. Thank you Pam and David!

The third floor "Inspiration" room was spacious, offered a beautiful view from the bathroom tub (simply needed to fold back the shower curtain enclosure), was cool and refreshing by opening the windows and running a single fan on a unusually warm weekend in Astoria. Beautiful landscaping and flowerbeds on the property. In summary, a great B & B value . But, most important, this particular room (the only room on the 3rd floor) offered great privacy for this romantic couple.

This was a lovely b&b to stay at. Very comfortable and clean with a wonderful view of the river. I couldnt have expected more. The breakfast in the morning was excellent as well. I highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at Rose river B&B for only one night, however our experience was extremely positive. It is an old fashioned house with down to the bear claw bathtub. It is located just a few blocks away from down town Astoria, and is even within walking distance to the Goonies house for all of you fans out there. The bed was super comfortable and coffee and tea were available at 7am. The breakfast consisted of a bowl of fresh seasonal fruits, followed by a DELICIOUS vegetable quiche, and some coffee cake. We met some people who had been there for 3 days and they said the breakfast was great every morning. I would recommend Rose River B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Astoria.

When we approached the house, our eyes widened with delight and hope that this really was the place that we were staying at that night. The outside really looks (and smells!) delightful. We felt welcome the instant we opened the gate to the yard and walked inside. Greeted with a warm smile, it was difficult not to feel at home. This complimented our stay perfectly and will definitely be on our list of places to stay at again.

the house is located 5 minutes walking from main street, the room has an amazing view on the bridge/river, everything in perfect condition,l very clean and the B&B is very organized. the owners are very very kind and helpfull!

My friend and I started a bike tour of the Oregon coast from Astoria, and our first night was spent at the Rose River Inn B&B. It was just lovely and perfect, the hosts were very nice and super accommodating, providing secure storage for our bicycles. The breakfast was to die for!! We felt lucky we found such a wonderful place to start our trip.

This is a very nice inn and we enjoyed the friendly Innkeepers. We were able to see much of Astoria as the Inn is centrally situated. Our room was very clean and the little sitting room off the bedroom was great for enjoying a glass of wine overlooking the Columbia River. We would definitley recommend this Inn to others.

The owners, location and overall experience staying here was excellent. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Astoria.

This was our first stay in a B&B. We arrived later than expected and Pam and David were still happy to see us. We enjoyed sitting on their porch surrounded by beautiful flowers and talking about the "haunted house" across the street. Make sure you meet Penny Lane, who was a wonderful hostess! We will be back!

This is an incredible gem of a B&B. The hosts are both delightful and warm and the home is so beautiful and just has the right feel for us, not too fussy, but a true B&B experience. Clean beyond all expectations, great sized room and soaking tub. We stayed in Rose but I can imagine they are all as wonderful. This town is a great place to stay and THIS is where you should plan your room:) p.s. penny lane in her bumble bee sweater is the cutest thing ever!

Friendly and helpful hosts knew the history and area well. They offered good suggestions for activities. The house is a couple blocks off the main street so it was very quiet at night even on a weekend.

Rose River Inn, was a great choice for us. David and Pam are very welcoming when you arrive, they ensured we had everything we needed and made great suggestions for dining out and what to check out while in Astoria. Great location to downtown and Fort George Brewery/brew pub. Set up was a little quirky with their different collectible items, but added to the charm of the place. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were comfortable and well stocked with all the added extras. Would definately stay here again!

Rose River Inn is one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed in. The house and the incredible flower garden is beautiful. Our Inspiration suite was spacious, cozy, private & quiet. We enjoyed playing games on the front porch. The river view from the dining room is pretty. The breakfast was amazing-a bowl of a variety of fresh fruits, individual quiche, and coffee cake. The owners are friendly and gave us excellent service. The inn is a close walk to town. We'd definitely return and highly recommend it to others!

The Rose River B&B was a perfect spot for my wife and I to spend our 1st anniversary. The hosts were most welcoming, and the rooms were among the most comfortable I've ever stayed in. The only thing that keeps everything from being 5-star diamonds was that quiche was served for both breakfasts we had. While it was delicious both mornings, a little variety would have been nice. But truly, for everything else, we couldn't have possibly asked for more. We'll definitely come back!

The Rose River Inn B&B in Astoria is very quaint with lots of antiques and collectibles. Always something to look at. We really liked our roomy top floor suite. The location was great with walking distance everywhere to downtown, museums, etc.

My husband and I really enjoyed the two nights we spent at the Rose River Inn. The owners are the greatest. They really enjoy their guests, and you feel you're a guest when you're there. It was very pleasant meeting the other guests at breakfast. The location could not be more perfect. Highly recommended!

Great view of the river and town. Roses and garden were excellent. Quiet. Unobtrusive hosts. Parking right in front. Would have preferred bars of soap rather than liquid, but otherwise the basic maintenance items were fine. Breakfast area is very pleasant.

My husband an I stayed in the River room (overlooks Colombia river with a wall of windows with GREAT views!). We were very pleased with our stay. We even got to watch the 4th of July fireworks from our bedroom! Pam and David (inn keepers) were extremely hospitable and very knowledgeable about the area with great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. She even offered me her umbrella and jacket one morning when it was misty outside. The Rose River Inn was very clean and quiet. It was a perfect and relaxing stay. They have almost 800 DVDs to chose from if you want to "check out" any! Each morning they have a community breakfast served in their dining rooms, which was actually very nice. We will definitely return if we're in the area again.

If you want to soak, bask in the sun, sleep well and really appreciate how well kept the place is (including sparkling clean windows to see the view) you won't go wrong picking The Rose River Inn.

The Inspiration Suite was perfect for 4 adults. The B&B is right downtown Astoria, the innkeepers are present and helpful but very unobtrusive. Beautiful.

I was very satisfied with our stay - everything was as described on the website, and I felt the price was reasonable. The owners have maintained the old character of the house, but have updated features like the bathroom so it doesn't feel old/musty. I like that they do online reservations - makes it easy to see what rooms are available. Comfortable, quiet room (we were in Othello, I believe), and the owners have thought of all the extras you might need (extra towels, robes, cotton balls/q-tips, lotion, wine opener/glasses, etc). Our room had a bathtub with a spray attachment - the website lists which rooms have a full shower if that matters to you, but the bathtub was very nice. The location is great - you can walk to nearly anywhere in the downtown area easily, and it is just blocks away from the Fort George brewery & Blue Scorcher bakery. Breakfast was excellent - the best fresh fruit plate I've ever had plus a tasty baked egg dish w/veggies & cheese, followed by small pieces of moist banana bread & as much coffee as you can take. During your online reservation, you can make requests if you have any dietary issues (we are mostly vegetarian), so the owners can plan accordingly. I really can't think of anything negative about our stay. It is an older house, so noise could be an issue depending upon other guests & their comings & goings. If you plan to have a rowdy, drunken night out, this probably isn't your place. If you're seeking a peaceful place to stay, in close distance to awesome Astoria restaurants, and a delicious breakfast, I highly recommend this place.

Everything was perfect! The room was very comforting after a long day of travel and the innkeepers provided great hospitality with breakfast and local sights.

There were too many 'do not do x' rules and a sense that we had to adapt totally to the proprietors. No sense of being welcome. It was nice enough but I would not return.

I've just spent 3 nights at the Rose River Inn. The location, food and room all exceeded expectations. It was the perfect spot to stay while I was in Astoria for a music program.

We had a very pleasant experience. David and Pam made us feel right at home. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The view was great and the location cannot be beat. I would recommend Rose River Inn for anyone looking for a B&B in Astoria.

If you wan t to see the river traffic and also be within walking distance of downtown Astoria plus have extremely knowledgeable and friendly hosts with outstanding breakfasts - this is THE place to go! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will go again and again. You can't go wrong with the Rose River Inn.

Excellent value. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated . The B&B is within walking distance to Downtown Astoria and the Maritime museum. The neighborhood is quiet with a city confidential story line involving a once prominent Astoria family. Dietary needs are cordially met. The one negative would involve other guests,who might not adhere to the TV Volume level rule, Which is clearly communicated to each guest. If the Tv is turned above level 20 other guests can hear it through the 100 year old walls . We found them on the internet at the last minute. looking forward to staying with them again. We stayed one night in Astoria to attend the crab and wine festival. We've been to Astoria several times already and love everything about it. We were pleasantly surprised with the Rose River Inn and will be sure to stay there in our return trips. The host and hostess were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing. The room was quiet and welcoming with a large bathtub, distilled water a DVD player and an enormous collection of DVD s. The bed was also very comfortable.

The stay was very relaxing the room was just wonderful and it is a 2 block walk into town with great afternoon and evening dining. The Breakfast exceeded my expectations. It was a wonderful experiance and I look forward to going back in the future.

We stayed at the Inn for 2 nights. It was relaxing. The breakfasts were just right and delicious. We stayed in the River Suite. We used the room's sun porch a lot. It has a great view of the water and downtown. The room also has a shower/tub combo. I really liked the convenient location to everything in downtown and along the waterfront. Also, the Fort George Brew pub is only a block away. The owners were great to talk to, and I fell in love with their cute dog, "Penny Lane". Adorable and doesn't bark. I will stay there again next time we visit Astoria. It's a great Oregon town. A lot of history and people who care about their community.

The Rose River Inn was the best last minute decision I've made in a long time :) the hosts were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing, the room was sweet and quaint without being kitschy (and had a little gas fireplace, an enclosed private deck and a clawfoot tub, mmmmm) and the breakfast was awesome. The owner's little chihuahua, Penny Lane, is super cute too and loves to cuddle. The room looked a little bigger on the website, but hey, it was a great room nonetheless. The B&B itself is really conveniently located; we walked up to the Column and down to the sort of main drag part of Astoria for dinner and to poke around some bookstores, and both were within walking (OK, hiking for the Column) distance of the B&B. The breakfast was great too. We sat in a sunny little breakfast nook with another couple from Portland and sipped coffee, tea and juice. The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and berries, a really good baked egg frittata-like thing with cheese and veggies, and coffee cake. Excellllenttttt. Yay!

We love the Ophelia room with the clawfoot tub and cozy bed. Pam and David are so sweet and not invasive at all. The house is perfectly situated in town, breakfast is the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B, and the price is totally reasonable. Highly recommended.

A wonder surprise find. The room we had was perfect (inspiration room) beds were very comfortable, bathroom had space and the sitting area was very comfy during the 6 hour storm that passed through. Breakfast was very well done and even dealt with food allergies with no bother (which was a wonderful change). Host were gracious and knowledgeable. Location is perfect, close walking distance to so much.

Rooms were nice, David and Pam were great. Food was good too. Access in and out could be better, but overall a good experience.

Everything about our stay was great. We will definitely be going back. We've been to Astoria a few times and stayed elsewhere, but this was by far the best place in town.

My husband & I first visited the Rose River Inn B&B shortly after we were married in 2006. We've since been back every year, due to the great rooms, reasonable price, and, most importantly, the fantastic breakfast and even more fantastic innkeepers. Dave & Pam are such great hosts; so welcoming (and such great cooks!). The rooms are great (we've stayed in most of them by now), and the location is fantastic. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Astoria; there's no way there could be a better experience OR a better price.

Rose River Inn was a fabulous place to stay. We were only there one night, but wanted to stay more. The Rose Room was perfect for us. The food was delicious and the host and hostess were marvelous. They sat and chatted with us and let us know some great places to eat and visit while in town. Kudos to running a great operation.

If you want to stay at a place that is like home away from home (and even more so), has gourmet breakfasts to-die-for, and is run by two of the most hospitable people on the planet--The Rose River Inn is for you! We have stayed there several times, each time in a different room. Pam and Dave Anderson are the most gracious, pleasant hosts we've ever met. From the charming antiques that grace every nook and cranny, to the spectacular view of the Columbia River in the breakfast room, to the comfortable and well-furnished rooms, we give this establishment a 150% rating of OUTSTANDING!!!!

I spent a delightful 5 nights relaxing in this beautiful Bed and breakfast. The area is gorgeous. The hosts, Pam and Dave, were friendly and very helpful with information on all the interesting things to see and do in the area. The rooms were clean and lovely. The breakfasts were delicious and nearby restaurants offered a variety of dining opportunities. Already, I can hardly wait to return.

A beautiful B&B very close to the heart of Astoria. The hosts were very friendly, the breakfast excellent and the rooms nicely decorated and clean. Our room had a very pleasant view of the Columbia River too. It's not the cheapest B&B, but you get what you pay for!

My sisters and I (3 of us) stayed at Pam and David's when we visited Astoria. The house is wonderful - immaculate, really comfortable. The third floor room was perfect for us - king bed and two doubles, great sitting area with 3 wing-back chairs, fireplace, books and magazines to read, huge bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower. Breakfast was very good - lots of fresh fruit, egg dish. Very close to downtown, so you can walk. Great view, and the gardens were lovely, nice deck out back. The hosts were great. I'd make it a point to stay there again if I were overnighting in Astoria.

Our room was modest but quite adequate. Pam and David are excellent hosts. the best part of our experience was the proximity to museums and restaurants in Astoria, and their recommendations as to where to eat etc.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on our second night of our week long trip down the Oregon coast. We were graciously welcomed by Pam and her little pooch, Penny Lane, also known as the sweetest dog ever. Pam made sure we had everything we needed, and informed us that she's around for absolutely anything. She also told us a bit about the city, what to see and where to go. The room had binders of information about Astoria and a list of about 300 movies which my boyfriend loved. They have a fridge which is open to guests, as well as access to the cozy living room and beautiful patio full of roses. Breakfast in the morning is full of all the guests, a great view of the city, and scrumptious breakfast prepared by the hosts themselves. Loved everything about staying here, and wish it could have been longer. Everything about staying here set a great tone to my boyfriend and my trip. Thank you thank you!

We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights last weekend, January 9th and 10th, 2009. The house is beautiful, and Pam and David couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and the location was within walking distance to shopping, eating, and a short drive to anything else. There are many other places to stay in Astoria, but this will be our first and only choice every time!!

Rose River Inn has a beautiful rose and flower garden. We enjoyed our visit and talking to David and Pam who were perfect hosts. We loved being able to walk a few blocks to downtown and we also sat on the porch and enjoyed the roses. Breakfast was delicious and what an unexpected treat to finish with a chocolate brownie and warm chocolate topping.

My now husband and I stayed in the Rose Room the weekend of Dec 1st. We had such a great time. David and Pam allowed us to be married in their front room on Saturday the first of December. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return as soon as we can.
