A storybook French chateau with ocean views, European antiques, and original works of art. The building was constructed in 1994 and designed specifically to be a bed and breakfast. We were designed to reflect the charm of a by gone era while still enjoying the benefits of modern conveniences. Set on 1 1/2 beautifully manicured acres and surrounded by flourishing flower gardens. We are located just 4 miles south of Cannon Beach and 7 miles north of Manzanita. From your room it is a short 250 yards to the beach. Each of the large guest rooms and suites are individually appointed. All have private tiled bathrooms and stall showers, gas fireplaces, cable television and refrigerators. We also provide Wi-Fi internet service throughout the property.
Ever wanted to stay in a castle? This remarkable structure looks just like one, with a bit of French Chateau thrown in. Ironically, you can see Arch Capes famed "Castle Rock" from here.
The living room is the perfect place to unwind each afternoon with all guests encouraged to join our complimentary wine gathering. Pacific Northwest labels along with remarkable ocean and sunset views.
Breakfast is a leisurely, three course meal, served at 9:00 in the conservatory by a wait staff. Photo credit: Jumping Rocks Photography
THE TOWER ROOM is one of our most requested rooms. The bed is a Louis the Fourteenth that has been made into queen size. It has a wonderful French armoire. The room has SEVEN windows to the west so that you can see the ocean from your bed, your sitting area in the tower or in front of the fireplace as well as from the deep oval soaking tub romantically placed in an alcove of the room.
THE TAPESTRY ROOM is another large, top floor room featuring a gold leaf, king size headboard and a magnificent, French antique armoire. The sitting area has a wonderful formal sofa and two chairs that have intricate inlayed detail. There is also a cozy reading nook with a padded bench and stained glass ceiling to curl up in and enjoy a good book. The spacious bathroom features an oversize soaking tub built for two.
THE HEATHER ROOM is a top floor room with dramatic vaulted ceilings and walls that have been textured to look like damask linen. It features an ornate Louis XIV queen size bed and a sitting area with an antique "Eastlake" love seat. This is the ONLY room that we have with west facing windows to the ocean as well as an east facing private deck overlooking the gardens. Enjoy the morning sun from your own private deck as well as an ocean view from the bed through the west facing windows.
THE PROVENCE SUITE located on the garden level is decorated in the style of the south of France. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and handsome French doors leading to your own private patio. It is furnished in antique pine and oak and has the signature blue and yellow Pierre Duex fabrics with terra cotta floors. You step down one step from the living room to the bedroom where there is a queen size bed with a large Jacuzzi tub in an alcove next to the bed. This room also has a private bath with a stall shower. The room has only an ocean peek....but, it is VERY private. This is a pet friendly room.
THE GAUGUIN ROOM. Decorated in pastel colors inspired by the French artist who resided in Tahiti, the room displays framed prints of two from his works. This top floor room has a window seat under the window with one of the best ocean views in the house. The fun bathroom has shutters over the bathtub that open into the room giving the bather a view of the ocean and the fireplace.
THE GINGER ROOM is a picturesque main floor room. The name and decor are inspired by the blue and white oriental ginger jars that decorate the room. It also features a cozy love seat perfectly situated in front of the fireplace. It has a magnificent Austrian headboard that is larger than king size and almost seven feet tall. It truly is imposing.
THE PARISIAN ROOM is a copy of a flat the original owners had in Paris. The walls of this room are covered in a hand painted French floral wall paper that is reminiscent of a bygone era. The elegant turn of the century French bedroom set, composed of a carved headboard and amoire with a beveled mirror, is from the late 19th or early 20th century. There is a picture perfect view of the ocean and Castle rock from the cozy window seat. This is our handicap accessible room with a specially designed bathroom including shower chair.
THE LIGHTHOUSE ROOM. Our summertime over-flow room has a charming entrance through the garden leading to a bright and cheery room with square portal windows, terra cotta floors and a quaint private deck. This is a pet friendly room.
The contemporary 2-story Owners Suite defines peaceful and luxurious comfort. With its own private entrance, surrounded by spectacular forests and with stunning ocean views, this suite boasts a living room with its own fireplace, entertainment area with flat screen TV, dining table and writer's desk, complete with a laptop PC. This suite is ideal for those seeking a quiet, secluded private retreat from the hectic pace of daily life. To enhance, Breakfast and Dinners can be served en suite.
The Owners Suite Master bedroom, with its own fireplace, is furnished with a Hemingway King bed and Tempurpedic mattress. Comfortable reading chairs abound
The Owners Suite bath has a luxurious Mediterranean-style open tile shower as well as a jetted tub, all of which is enhanced with a large dressing suite, perfect for a bridal boudoir.
From your room it is a short 250 yards to the famous and pristine Arch Cape beach. Keep your eyes open, you could be the next beachcomber to discover an old cannon washed up on shore!
We look forwarding to hosting you soon.

4.4 out of 5Gourmet Breakfast on the Coast
August 16, 2012
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this lovely B&B. The innkeeper and others who greeted us were so friendly and helpful, even securing a reservation at a restaurant in Cannon Beach that "does not take reservations". The three course breakfasts were absolutely gourmet, and the evening wine hour allowed us an opportunity to converse with other guests. The room we stayed in was beautifully appointed, wih a view of the water. The only disappointment was the quality of the towels in the bathroom. My husband even commented on the thin, flimsy material. It was not what we expected given all of the other lovely amenities that were provided.

Nice building and site but could hardly see the water from the Inn. Room was ok but didn't really like the bathroom privacy in the room we had ... shutters on both the door and window area btwn bedroom and bathroom. Food also wasn't that good probably due to the main chef being on vacation.

Arch Cape was a delightful stay near Cannon Beach. The Inn was very clean, and the hosts were extremely helpful and made sure the guests' needs were met. While the beach is across the highway, and Cannon Beach is a short drive away, it is still a lovely location. Breakfast was nicely varied, although always on a "fixed menu" from one day to the next. While all the rooms looked lovely, one word of caution - the Tuscan Spa, while well appointed, is a lower-level suite and despite best effort still feels a touch like a basement suite (even if it is the nicest basement suite you'll ever see!). If natural light is important, opt for an upper level room! Would not hesitate to visit again!

This was our first visit to area and we fell in love with the Oregon coast. Our stay at Arch Cape just reinforced our first impressions. Cynthia and Stephen are delightful and the staff is wonderful. Chef Jon Hoffman served wonderful breakfasts and dinners. We look forward to returning. I will have a full trip report up on the BedandBreakfast.com Blog in a few days. Thank you to all at Arch Cape for a perfect stay. Rose Ciccone, Associate Editor, BedandBreakfast.com

My husband and I just stayed at the Arch Cape House for 2 nights, and I will say that we wish we had more time there. The staff was amazing...New owners Cynthia & Stephen and staff Sharon & Dick (the chef) were so pleasant to speak with. It felt like home! The food was very creative and decadent. Definitely a hidden gem!

August 03, 2008
My wife and I really enjoyed Arch Cape House. Beautiful rooms and landscaping. Close to Cannon beach but not in the center of town. The breakfast were some of the best we ever had. We both gained a few pounds while staying there. WE both loved the innkeeper and spent a couple of evening chatting. We both highly recommend this B&B and plan to stay here again in the future
4.4 out of 5Peaceful, Quiet, Enjoyable
June 25, 2008
My wife and I celebrated our 12th anniversary at St. Bernard's Arch Cape House. We found it to be a real treat! We stayed in the Provence room, which was downstairs with a garden patio. Everything was very clean, the room was quiet and private, and we relaxed, enjoyed the jetted jacuzzi bath, and sat out in the sun on the patio. Stephen and Cynthia, the new owners, took great care of us, and provided a wonderful atmosphere of relaxation and enjoyment. We had great conversation at tea time, and they really took an interest in their guests. The only downside to our stay was that we were only there for one night! We would've loved to enjoy the hospitality and uniqueness of St. Bernard's for longer... so we hope to go back soon!
