3.2 out of 5Convenient Guesthouse Near the Hawthorne Area
May 02, 2013
I have stayed at the Evermore Guesthouse twice and each time was pleased by the place. It is very convenient to the southeast section of Portland and near a biking street. The rooms each time were clean, contained comfortable beds with nice bedding, and had roomy bathrooms. The room facing the street was noisy and I recommend ear plugs. A room facing the back was much quieter. The arrangement for breakfast was perfect for us. We don't eat much and just want a cup of coffee. There was fruit, breads, coffee, tea available in the kitchen and if guests wish, food could be brought in and prepared, with the caveat of cleaning up after oneself. Refrigerator space and labels were provided for guest food.
4.0 out of 5home away from home

This is a place we would stay at anytime we were in Portland. The charm of staying in a converted grand house cannot compare to the anonymous alternatives of typical hotels. In-laid wood floors, arts and crafts built-ins and rich, dark wood banisters all give a feel you have gone back in time a hundred years ago. We also appreciated the low key way of interacting with the owners. You have access to the kitchen to compose your (simple) breakfast yourself, much like you are in a real home.
4.6 out of 5Pleasant stays at Evermore
April 04, 2013
I stay at Evermore whenever I'm in Portland visiting my daughter. I think I've stayed there 4 or 5 times now. I think it's wonderful. And it's the only place I stay now, after several stays at a high-priced hotel. I'm thrilled to have found it. It's a lovely, gracious environment, a beautiful old home.
4.6 out of 5Great choice for Portland

I wish I had known beforehand there wasn't a tv in the room, and it would have been nice to have some kind of protein in the breakfast, but other than that I love this place. I would definitely recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

3.4 out of 5Beautiful house, beautiful stay.

Very pleasant stay. Rooms are quite comfortable. Claw foot tubs are great. Aesthetic of the house very pleasing. Gluten-free breakfast options present, but minimal.
4.0 out of 5Not a typical B&B
March 12, 2013
Beautiful, comfortable, impeccably appointed and clean room in an absolutely gorgeous house. The staff is hands-off (I don't think I saw a single one of them during my entire two-night stay), which is unusual in my admittedly-limited experience with B&Bs. I would have liked to say "hi" and ask them a bit about the house, but given it was a pretty busy weekend for us, I didn't have time to miss it much. I had breakfast plans both mornings, so I didn't eat breakfast there. Everything looked tasty, though, and the other guests seemed to be enjoying the offerings. I really appreciated the use of the basement freezer. I was visiting a friend who'd just had surgery and brought some frozen homemade food with me. It was nice to have someplace to keep it until I could see him on Sunday.
