My husband and I were in town for a wedding and didn't want to stay at a 'regular' hotel. I booked the 2nd floor Bay Window room online and was very pleasantly surprised! The 'medium' sized room was easily larger than hotel rooms we've stayed in, and we loved the original detailing--built-ins, stained glass, clawfoot tub, etc. However, the room was very nicely upgraded with modern conveniences like air conditioning :) We would definitely stay here again!

We got to the Evermore much later than we hand intended, and only stayed the night,so didn't feel as though we were able to take full advantage it. After moving our daughter into her new place in Portland, we wea delighted to fine a cool, clean room with a very comfortable bed. We plan on staying here often.

My wife and I stayed here just a single night, but the Evermore Guesthouse is now at the top of our list for places to stay in Portland. We found the 2nd floor Bay Window room to fit our needs perfectly with a spacious room, claw foot tub\shower, and frigid air conditioning. The house itself is beautifully restored and the common areas are warm and inviting. The available breakfast was simple and exactly as advertised. The surrounding neighborhood is a perfect fit with the house.

Great customer service. I initially booked for four nights. Then my plans changed and I had to cancel the middle two nights. Was easily able to do so, no questions asked. House is GORGEOUS. Plenty of food for breakfast in a serve-yourself style. Vegan items were clearly indicated, which I appreciated. Another nice touch is that you're allowed to use the community areas (and bathroom) after 11 a.m. checkout, so if you have some downtime between 11 a.m. and your departure time, you don't have to wander around town looking for a place to be. You can hang out at the house and use the wifi.

Older home with lovely appointments and great feel. Privacy was stellar (saw almost no employees during stay -- felt like going to my own home. Beautiful wooden framing and old furniture with quiet, peaceful feel. Much light through large windows and patios. Will return again. Thanks.

We stayed on the third floor with air conditioning this August and we were very comfortable, despite it being 90 degrees in Portland. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. I love that we were able to go downstairs in the morning and fix our own breakfast from a variety of different options. The guesthouse is located in walking distance to lots of delicious restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.

The rooms were very nice. Enjoyed the patio. The bathroom was a disappointment because the hand sink was only hot or cold water. Could not mix for warm. I expected to have someone in residence at all times. We saw no one for the three days we were there. Would probably stay again.

The fire alarm went off twice the first night I was there - for no reason at all and again the next night too. They did give me a small refund which was appreciated and they did fix the problem. The kitchen is self serve and self clean up - no dishwasher. There are several very good restaurants in the area within walking distance if you don't want cereal, bagels and muffins in the morning. The house itself is lovely and is clean and convenient to city bus, if you don't want or have a car.

Had a 3 rd floor room, couldn't have our usual 2nd floor room. I liked it better than I expected. Nice layout for such a small space!

We stayed in the large third floor suite (two private balconies!) and even at the high season rate of $150 this was an excellent deal, better than a more expensive downtown hotel. Communal kitchen so we cooked eggs to go with the inn's various fruits, scones, muffins (even gluten free), cereals and other continental items. Frig stocked with juices, even almond milk and other specialties. Friendly staff. Two living rooms to enjoy (with board games and such). We played dominoes with wine before heading out for dinner. This is in a residential area very close to restaurants and shopping, a plus for us. Highly recommended. -- C Wille
