The Awtrey House is nestled at the base of Neahkahnie Mountain, almost touching the Pacific Ocean on the Oregon coast, one of the most beautiful places in the world. Neahkahnie lies on a seven mile beach between the charming village of Manzanita and the majestic Neahkahnie cliffs. For over 100 years Neahkahnie has been known for its Northwest architecture and artists’ community. The Awtrey House continues this tradition with the distinct modern syle of architect James Cutler and the paintings of Neahkahnie artist, Pam Greene.

We had a short but wonderful stay at the Awtrey House in July when my wife and I stayed for only one night. I don't need to repeat all the things that other reviewers have said about the rooms. They are simple but luxurious and comfortable with everything you could need. The view is spectacular. I thought that the electric shades - on all of the windows, of which there are many and which you need - were a great idea. The best part was Dennis, who is a gracious and engaging host. We were the only guests (there are only 2 rooms) and twice had lengthy conversations with him. The breakfast was delicious, and we left wishing we could have stayed longer.
