If you are a stargazer, hiker, birdwatcher or history buff you will love this place! Cozy, modern "cabin", delicious breakfasts each day with our gracious and knowledgable hosts, Mary & Norbert! Splendid territorial views of the Strawberry Mtns and the rolling hills of their 1,000 acre ranch from our little porch. Heard and then spotted Elk, watched the llamas! Spent 3 nights there and only scratched the surface of things to do. Check out Strawberry Lake, John Day Fossil Beds, or veg out at Mary's Pond. Drive to Prairie City and pony up to the 100+ yr old bar at the Oxbow Saloon. You will be glad you came! oh, we visited in Sept 2011 and plan to return! R&R from Gig Harbor

This is my 2nd stay at the Inn and I love it. I stayed with a coworker on business in John Day, just about 20 minutes away...and I absolutely love it up there. The views and the quiet are unparalleled; we saw some shooting stars; we woke up to cheerful llamas running around the place. It's more than a place to stay; it is an experience. Mary and Norbert poured us a glass of wine and stayed up to chat with us--what great conversations! The room is fabulous. Completely clean, in a place you'd expect a lot of dust!! I have never stayed long enough to take advantage of the mini-kitchen, where we'd cook dinners (they feed you breakfast, of course), but I intend to come back. I have recommended the place to my parents, who love that high desert country. I really like it here. -- Jen

We stayed one night on our "road trip" from Portland, OR throughout the John Day - Baker City area loop. This was our last night's stay for the trip and it could not have ended on a better note! Our hosts were warm and very helpful. The cabin is very modern and lovely with lil' deck to sit from and view the hills dotted with junipers and sky above - romantic, quiet, beautiful setting and lovely in every way. We definitely hope to be back and stay longer!

Breathtaking views, fresh juniper scented air. If you want a place to just relax or hike to your hearts content, this is the place to stay. We hiked the Strawberry Mountains during the day and relaxed in a stunning room with 360 degree views of mountain peaks, and the rolling hills. If you want to get away from it all stay here and plan nothing but enojoying the property it will keep you busy all day with birds and wildlife to view.

What a view, if you want privacy and a stunning view out every window of your B&B then the Inn at Juniper Ridge is a great choice. After a long day of driving through the beautiful John Day River valley, and an awesome hike into Strawberry Lake in the Strawberry Wilderness we arrived dead tired and just wanting a shower and some rest. We were met by our host Mary & Norbert we were shown a great room in a private building just a short distance from their home. They were very hospitable and wanted to make sure that if we needed anything they were there to help. We showered up and then had to sit outside and look at the unbelievable views out the back of our room until dark. Not a person in sight and the opportunity to listen, hear, and see a diverse array of wildlife right from the room. I wished I had had more time just to explore the property around the Inn. Overall I was very happy with our too brief of stay and hope to make it back there soon.
