Charming Stay in Ashland

5 on October 12, 2014

One could not find a more pleasant bed and breakfast in Ashland. My visit in ashland was all the better thanks to the hosts of this comfortable Inn, Albion. Upon entering you are greeted to a homely front room complete with a laptop and internet access. To the left an entertainment room with cable and boardgames, the feeling is instantly inviting. Beyond these rooms is the kitchenette and full dining area with room for eight, there are assorted goodies for picking up on your way out to see the town. Up stairs are the rooms. Each room is unique, charming, and most of all comfortable. Mine, the double was fitted with a clean and well stocked bathroom. I think the beds are memory foam, best night of sleep ever. The two who operate this inn, Cyd and Gary Ropp are apt hosts with awesome presence. At night there is a night cap of what was for us Cream Sherry. The place is quiet at night and it's easy to enjoy as you rest on the leather couch and chat. In the morning you are welcomed to join others for breakfast. Ours was wonderful, starting with a well presented fresh fruit salad and smoothie. There is coffee for those of us who must have it to get through the wee hours. The main course was a light fresh from the garden tomato, bell pepper and cucumber salad, eggs with cheese and spinach, and sausage on the side. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Not to mention organic. Leaving me ready to enjoy the rest of the day in good spirit. If I get to stay in ashland again I know where I'll be going. Thanks to the hospitality of Cyd and Gary. My visit to ashland, oregon was as perfectly tranquil. I will surly be recommending this B&B to my friends and relatives.

Lively conversation, beautiful property

4.4 on July 05, 2012

We enjoyed our brief stay at the Albion Inn very much. The innkeeper, Cyd, was very welcoming and easy to talk with. She was available for lively conversation, but did not hover or push. Breakfast was delicious and made from organic foods. While the food was good, my favorite part of breakfast was the conversation with Cyd and the other guests after the meal. I've never stayed at a b and b before this trip, and I enjoyed the sit down breakfast much more than I expected to. The room was icely decorated, but somewhat small for me and my friend. We had a room with two twin beds ( that could also be one king bed). While the room was pleasant and airy, with views of the beautiful gardens, the beds were kind of bouncy and shook from side to side when you moved. My friend actually fell out of hers when she first tried to get on it. Other than this, it was a perfect stay. We had use of common areas, including a TV room, sitting room, dining room, and a small fridge for guests in a kitchenette. There was even a special faucet for hot water for tea, as well as a guest coffee maker. There was also a computer available and free wiFi.We enjoyed the garden, the art work ( mostly made by one of the innkeepers, and for sale), and the atmosphere of the place. Most of all, we enjoyed the intelligent conversation and accommodating nature of our innkeeper. We had to leave before breakfast time on our last day, and they actually packed us a hearty and healthy breakfast for the road. I don't know if all bed and breakfasts are like this, but I was really blown away by this place.
