Sabina and Dominque are terrific hosts. The Gasthaus is clean with a ensuite bathroom, free internet, and a great serve yourself breakfast with homemade breads and muesli. I got up just to go down and have a cup of her coffee; it was exceptional.... read more

Friendly innkeepers. The breakfast is terrific with lots of healthy choices. The outdoor patio is a nice extra. Great location, can walk to many Ottawa attractions. I'd stay there again.

Gasthaus Switzerland Inn located on Historic Daly Ave. Sandy Hill is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Ottawa. And Daly Ave was home to many Fathers of Confederation (Sir Samuel Leonard Tilley, Sir Alexander Campbell, Sir Alexander Tilloch Galt) and our first Prime Minister, John A. The patio garden in winter stand out as the sun lights up the freshly fallen snow, one bright morning in March. This is a view from our Breakfast-Meeting ROOM towards the Patio-Garden-Parking area. For those that like it Cold there is plenty to do in Ottawa in winter!!! Bircher-Muesli - Our Signature Dish!!! This famous dish was created in Switzerland by Dr. Bircher in 1887 at his diet clinic. In 1924 it was named Bircher-Muesli and became a Swiss national tradition.

In Ottawa, temperatures extremes of -30 to +35 (Celsius) are not unusual, and there is an average of 2.5 metres (~6-1/2 ft) of snow in Ottawa during winter.
Parking; Because of our ideal downtown core location, consider leaving the car at home, because attractions are in walking distance from the Inn. You'll save money and the environment too! From the airport, a taxi ride to downtown is about $30.00CND and, the local bus #97 is $3.00. Onsite parking available at the rate of $12.00 per night per vehicle on a first come first serve basis (3pm to 2pm next day). No in-and-out privilages. Off-site parking • Free on street over night parking is available in the summertime. • A public parking lot with daily rates is on Besserer street whitin 1 block from our Inn..(approx. $18.00/24 hours). • Underground parking available at the Rideau Shopping Center for approx. $20.00/24 hours Gasthaus Switzerland Inn - Entrance - Winter time November to March -
