Turtle Inn Bed and Breakfast

As the title states, I would stay with Chris again (Mark was out of town). Our stay was over New Years and was very enjoyable. This B&B was much more like staying over a friends house versus staying at a hotel.

We staid at the Turtle Inn for three nights in September. The room was really nice and the bed was very comfortable. Since Marc is also from Germany we were able to phone our family for free, which was really great for us. Everybody was friendly and welcoming. The house overall was really clean. We enjoyed staying there and we recommend it to everybody.

there were no rooms available in city centre so we tried this one. highly recommendable! a much appreciated coincidence! even getting downtown by metro wasn't complicated.

I just spent a couple of days at the TURTLE INN and I didn't actually want to leave because Marc and Chris are just great hosts. Other guests and I enjoyed nice chats with them by the pool in the evenings, the days' heat was washed away the second I jumped into the pool, the puppies are adorable, breakfast was far beyond expectations, my room was very clean, I wish I could stay even longer. And I know I will as soon as possible!

We're perplexed as to what to make of this B&B. We read all the glowing reviews and so had fairly high expectations. Our 1st surprise was on arriving to find no one home and no identification sign that we were at the right place. Fortunately after several attempts a fellow guest let us in. Our next surprise was that all the rooms share a bathroom. There was nothing on the website that told us that. Shared bathrooms are not our thing. Marc would have allowed us to cancel our reservation and let us book elsewhere but unfortunately we had booked through BedandBreakfast.com so he couldn't do it. If we had made our reservation over the phone we would have found out about the shared bathroom and not booked. Marc and Chris were friendly and helpful and ready to supply what ever we asked for, however it is apparent that running a B&B is not their 1st priority. We stayed 2 nights and were again surprised to come back to our room after the 1st day and find nothing had been done, no towels, bed made, cleaned, etc. In many ways this could be a great B&B. Quite neighborhood, clean modern house, well furnished and decorated, comfortable rooms, and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate. Maybe we just hit a bad time.

After a very busy day in Toronto it was lovely to arrive at such a warm and inviting bed and breakfast. Our host went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It was super-convenient to the 401 for our return to Ottawa the following day. We would definitely stay at the Turtle Inn again during our next visit to Toronto.

Pasé aquí un fin de semana a mediados de diciembre de 2010, con mi pareja. LLevabamos tres meses viviendo en Canadá y buscabamos un lugar para una escapada romántica. Turtle Inn fué la elección perfecta. Lo mejor de todo, los anfitriones, que nos brindaron unas atenciones impensables en un hotel, como prepararnos el desayuno a las doce del mediodia el domingo, sugerirnos lugares con encanto para salir a pasear en los alrededores o recibirnos con un chocolate caliente (en diciembre, con la nieve y una sensación térmica que rondaba los -20 grados en el exterior, el chocolate caliente es todo un detalle) Los dos perros de la casa están muy bien educados y acompañan sin molestar. La relación calidad-precio es inmejorable. Las habitaciones son confortables, silenciosas y decoradas con gusto. El bufet de desayuno incluye embutidos, queso, fruta fresca, bolleria, cereales... El comedor es tranquilo y acogedor; comunica con la cocina, y los dueños se aseguran de que tengas café recien hecho, infusiones, chocolate y zumo en abundancia. La sala de estar está a disposición de los huespedes y brinda la oportunidad de entablar conversación, ver una película o leer la prensa con tranquilidad. Está situado en un barrio tranquilo, bien comunicado y con el aparcamiento gratuíto. Si se opta por el transporte público, la parada del autobús está a 3 minutos, en una línea de alta frecuencia que comunica con el metro -los autobuses pasan en intervalos de 10 minutos, 15 los fines de semana-. Sin duda, una experiencia para recomendar y repetir.

The Turtle Inn is a very beautiful and comfy tavern that captivates visitors with its inviting ambiance and friendly hosts. The rooms are comfortably furnished and very clean, a TV and telephone are of course part of the interior. The included breakfast was very extensive, tastefully arranged and enough to satisfy even strong eaters. The Turtle Inn provides a well-temperated swimming pool and whirlpool for free use. Those who like to spend the evening with company are welcome to make themselves comfortable in the big living room. In the course of our Canada trip we often spent the night in hostels, but only for the three days we were at the Inn made us feel good. The kindness and hospitality of the owners of the Turtle Inn was outstanding. They gave us good advice for our day excursions and were funny to talk to in the living room or at the fireplace on the patio. There is no doubt that, should we again spend some time in the Toronto area, we would choose the Turtle Inn again.

This was our second stay at the Turtle Inn and won't be our last! The location was great; in a safe neighborhood and close to the 401 (free parking too!) The hosts Mark and Chris were the best! They made us feel right at home and took care of anything we needed right away! The rooms were super clean and modernly decorated with the perfect amount of class and comfort (and everything smelled so good too!) In the summer the backyard with the pool and garden was beautiful and our winter stay was cozy and warm! The hosts joined us for a buffet breakfast and we enjoyed great conversation along with delicious coffee, eggs, croissants, buns, fruit, yogurt and more- it reminded me of my visit to Austria! Overall we loved it and didn't want to leave! :)

Nous sommes allés au Turtle Inn pour un week-end. Nous y avons été accueillis chaleureusement et en français. Les propriétaires possèdent 2 chiens qui font moins de bruit que mon chat. Les déjeuners étaient exquis , a la mode européenne. Merveilleux café. Excellent séjour. Manon et Milorad

The amenities and quality of everything was impeccable. The innkeepers were very nice! The breakfast wasn't homemade cuisine like other places where I've stayed but it was still good food. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

I stayed at the Turtle inn for only a few nights during a short trip to Toronto in Fall. I was greeted by Mark who kindly helped me with my bags showed me to my room and explained how everything worked (since it was my first time to a bed and breakfast). The rooms are immaculate, comfortable and clean, along with the rest of the house. Breakfast was great, with a good selection of cereal, fruit, breads, meats, and cheeses. The inn is close to the TTC Kennedy station (10 minutes by car) to get into the city, but Mark also told me that a TTC bus also goes by frequently to Kennedy. Overall this a great inn no matter the season, a much better value and easier on the budget than any hotel in downtown Toronto.

We stayed at the Turtle Inn for two nights and found it an absolutely fantastic place to stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was a buffet style with lots of selection which meant you could eat as little or as much of what you wanted. Finally, Chris and Mark were a wealth of useful tips and ideas of places to visit which made our stay in Toronto feel more personal. Thank you very much for a lovely stay, Miriam and Matt

We had an amazing stay at the Turtle Inn. The owners, Chris and Mark are absolutely charming. We enjoyed all of it, especially the interesting conversations with the innkeepers. Would definitely recommend it !

We spent a couple of nights here when we first arrived in Toronto. The place is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. We got a very warm welcome and made to feel at home quickly. The breakfast was great with a good choice. We really appreciated the local advice too, and hints on driving! Would very much recommend to others.

We brought our two-year-old with us to the Turtle Inn, somewhat nervous about bringing a toddler to a B&B. To our delight he was warmly welcomed, fell in love with the dogs, and became fast friends with the owners. Adults will have similar experiences! The house looks small from the streetfront, but is spacious and modern. The proprietor is a superb chef, and we licked our lips (and sharpened our wits) in anticipation of each morning's breakfast of superb food and wonderful conversations. (I still miss the home-baked croissants...yummy!) The atmosphere feels very European and progressive, so if you are looking for the Canadian Mountie and Lumberjack experience, this may not be your best choice - however, if superb restaurant advice, a great location, and classy accommodations at a superb price are what you are after, you can't go wrong at the Turtle Inn. You'd be a fool to stay at a hotel in Toronto.

Mark and Chris were a delight to stay with. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, the location was walking distance to public transportation which is very handy. The house is very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast offered a great variety for all tastes and diets and was elegantly presented. My last day there and I did not want to leave. I so enjoyed chatting with Mark and Chris and the other guests. Not sure when I will be back in Toronto again, but this is where I will stay.

A lovely B&B in a quiet suburb of Toronto - very clean and tidy with very friendly and helpful hosts. This B&B is not located close to downtown but it is well linked to it - at the end of the road you can pick up a bus to the subway station which takes you downtown - all for $3. Bargain.

this is the best bed and breakfast i have ever been! the rooms are very clean, the food is very delicious and the guys are so friendly. We had a lot of fun there and I love it to be there and i hope i can come back fast!

Lieber Marc, nach 6 wundervollen Wochen bei euch ist letztes Wochenende nun unser Aufenthalt zu Ende gegangen. Als Verantwortlicher für die Unterkunft war es mir ein Anliegen, dass alles reibungslos funktioniert. Und dies hat es. Unsere Kontaktaufnahme per Email hat genauso super geklappt, wie unsere Telefonate. Ich konnte im Vorfeld alles klären und wir sind mit einem guten Gefühl angereist. Auch das Abholen am Flughafen hat (im Gegensatz zu anderen unserer Gruppe) hervorragend geklappt. Eure Freundlichkeit gepaart mit dem Ambiente des Turtel Inn ergaben für uns alle 6 unvergessliche Wochen. Ihr versteht es, das man sich bei euch vom ersten Tag an wohl fühlt. Die Zimmer haben wir genauso wie auf den Bildern vorgefunden udn das Frühstück war einfach unschlagbar gut. Wir kamen als Fremde und gehen als Freunde. DAnke für Alles !!!

This was my first experience staying at a B&B in Toronto. Upon arriving, I was delighted with the warm, friendly hospitality. Our hosts carried in my luggage and showed me to a room located on the lower level with private bath and sauna. A queen-sized bed with pillow-top mattress awaited my tired body. Our hosts, Marc & Chris, shared so much of themselves with me and offered me the use of their home. I was invited to sit in their living room, watch TV, drink hot chocolate, and be entertained by their interesting conversation. The food was incredibly delicious and they were ready to provide whatever I wanted. I most assuredly plan to share this awesome experience with my friends and will return often to the remarkable Turtle Inn Toronto. Thanks to Marc & Chris for everything. Gary

From quick email support in answering questions to a warm and welcoming arrival and entry, the weekend at Turtle Inn was just wonderful. Beautiful home, and the feeling that you had just been welcomed like family. Every need was graciously met and every question answered. We even were offered some assistance with our car which needed a tire change on a Sunday or the risk of a possible blow out on the way home!!!! Free phone calls to the US and Europe were totally unexpected and would make a great convenience for many who might be from the states or abroad. We stayed in the budget room in the lower level and were very pleased. Grateful for all that was provided.

We spent one night here and enjoyed it very much. Comfortable, well-decorated room. Excellent buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. We look forward to staying here again.

Marc and Chris were excellent hosts. We enjoyed out stay with them, and they were very helpful. The location is very good in that it is only a 2 minute walk to the bus line that connects with the subway which takes you to downtown Toronto. Good services in the area. Marc also helped us plan the rest of our tour of Canada, and found us some excellent lodging values. All in all, well worth the stay.

Our stay at the Turtle Inn was absolutely beautiful. Its so peaceful in the heart of such a busy city. The hosts Mark and Chris are amazing and so warm and my boyfriend have vowed never to use a hotel again!! Mark and Chris it was lovely to meet you and we will be back!!! Un buffet généreux -l'accueil: tout simplement parfait, le propriétaire saura vous faire sentir comme si vous étiez chez vous, et sera à votre écoute et service. Ambiance chaleureuse, conviviale - Fantastique: une piscine chauffée et un jacuzzi! - Facile d'accès et pour stationner - Dans un environnement tranquille hors du tumulte de la ville, une vraie pause après le stress du centre-ville - Un prix raisonnable si on tient compte qu'il s'agit de la région de Toronto, et en plus un quartier tranquille et verdoyant! Pour ma part j'y retournerai avec grand plaisir!

The Turtle Inn is a gem of a B&B! I booked a room there last minute for one night, as I needed a place to stay before my flight the next day and did not want to stay near the airport or in downtown Toronto. I didn't really know what to expect, but as soon as I arrived at the Turtle Inn I knew it would be an exceptional B&B! The hosts immediately made me feel welcome and like part of the family. As soon as they found out that I was a vegetarian, they went out of their way to prepare a wonderful vegetarian dinner that evening. The hosts are very accommodating, and always ready to answer any questions about Toronto or provide directions. But most importantly, they are incredibly personable hosts and a lot of FUN! The inn itself is lovely, and the rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The free European long-distance calling was a great bonus for me. The pool looks very nice, although I did not have time to take advantage of it. I had a wonderful night at the Turtle Inn and will definitely stay there again the next time I am in Toronto, hopefully for a longer time! I wholeheartedly recommend the Turtle Inn.

An English butler would be pressed to deliver all the civilizing touches of the Turtle Inn so unobtrusively and for such a good price: pressed pillowcases and starched linens, but nothing starchy in the manner of the very friendly and accomodating proprietors, who provided a light and easy atmosphere, good, fresh food, excellent coffee, very clean and handsome accomodations, and good advice about Toronto and its attractions, all of which made for a very satisfying stay.

We were very pleased with the friendly and outgoing reception we got...the willingness to go over and above to make sure we enjoyed our stay...and to be treated like members of the family.

Great place to stay! We had a great time getting to know the hosts and enjoying the meals! The rooms were excellent as well!

Our stay at Turtle Inn was more than we would ever have expected. The kindness of the hosts and the beauty of this place were incredible. When we had to leave for the airport, nobody said a word in the car, we even didn`t switsch on the music, I think everybody felt very sorry to leave our new found friends.
