Murphin Ridge Inn

This was our first visit to Murphin Ridge Inn and will definitely not be our last!! We loved the quiet setting and the staff made us feel like family. The delicious breakfast was worth getting up for. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

had a wonderful stay. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Winter might be the best season to visit.

We stayed at Murphin Ridge for two nights at the end of January. This was our third stay at the Inn, all of which have been in the cabins. As usual, the cabin was perfect , the service was great and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I just had our first stay at Murphin Ridge Inn and it won't be our last. We rented one of the new cabins, Encore, and were surpirsed at how nice it was. This little hidden gem was a nice secret. It was very warm and cozy . Nice furnishings with all the imenities. Hot tub, glass enclosed , freestanding fireplace. Very well appointed room with every attention to detail in a wooded area that feels very private. The dining in a restored colonial was amazing and a nice surprise. we weren't expecting a chef and food of that quality. The owners are onsite and hands on. Very engaging and make sure everything it to your satifation. They even cleared the snow from our truck early the next morning!

The food and service was excellent, everyone made us feel welcome and like old friends. The cabins are beautiful and everything we expected. This was our fourth visit and each time is everything we hoped for. We'll be back again, soon.

We had 3 couples each with a cabin. It was the perfect mix of togetherness and aloneness with your spouse. Meals and service where outstanding. Would like to return in warner weather.

Cleanliness would have been rated outstanding if the glass on the fireplace had not been dirty on the inside. That's it, everything else was wonderful. The staff and owners are all very accommodating and friendly.

Murphin Ridge is the best run, best food, cleanest, best ambiance, awesome pleace ever!

This place is absolutely wonderful! My fiancé and I got engaged there a year ago and have decided to have our "mini honeymoon" there. The cabins are beautiful and cozy, the food is to die for, and the owners and staff are such great people who make you feel welcome. I know this will be a vacation spot for us for many years to come.

The CABIN is an outstanding experience!! So good to mingle with Staff as well with guests. And the privacy of it all is most refreshing.

My wife and I visit Murphin Ridge every year. It was outstanding the first year and yet somehow gets better with each passing year. The people are friendly, the service outstanding and the food is simply incredible. We have thought once or twice about trying someplace new, but when you have discovered the best we have decided to stick with it. We can't wait until we are able to go again.

We have stayed there before - this was our fourth visit. We wanted to take in the NewYear as we did with Thanksgiving a few years back. Every time we stay, we are treated with a smile and first class treatment

Christmas eve and day were spent in the splendor of the hills and woods of Adams County and the two miles of trails on the lodge property. Of course, the fireplace in our room, and the great dinners both nights made our stay the best it could possibly be. Another necity is the option to have a custom meal designed by the Inn's Chef.

The structures, rooms and natural surroundings are beautiful and kept up extremely well so the environment is quite pleasant and relaxing ... and the hosts are attentive and full of personality which adds a warmth to the experience. Dining at the Inn is usually very good, both the breakfasts and suppers, but the chef disappointed on one of the meals this time. (The pot pie made to use up the leftover groceries before an end-of-the-year break was lacking ingredients and flavor and was not deserving of its cost.) We don't expect perfection and this will not deter us from visiting again. Cost of the dining, in general, though, is expensive ... as is the cost of a stay at the inn, especially in a cabin. The positives, still, far outweigh the negatives.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our honeymoon. We had a very relaxing time! We thought that we would miss the tv, since there wasn't one in the cabin, but we were able to relax and enjoy our time away! The food was very delicious, but expensive! Breakfast was included, and again very delicious! Overall, every thing was wonderful!

My wife and I recently visited Murphin Ridge and spent the night in one of their cabins. The only thing wrong was that we did not have the time to stay longer. If you are a type A personallity it will take a little while to slow down and enjoy this place. Our cell phones did not have reception, there was no TV, no newspaper layed at your door etc. It truly enables you to slow your pace and enjoy one another and actually sit on the porch with a glass of wine and talk. The owners along with all the staff were great and treated us like they had known us for years. It is a little pricey when you throw in the couples massage, but it was well worth it. Our daughter gave my husband and I a night stay at Murphin Ridge Inn, for our 50th birthdays, which are a month apart. We arrived to a wonderful cabin, with a fireplace, whirlpool tub, cedar all around, it was so warm and comfy. We hiked in the crisp fall air, came back and sat by the fire pit, to unwind. Two cats came and joined us, hopped on our lap, purring, it was really nice, (plus they kept us warm!) Our dinner was delicious, and the guest house was very quaint. Our table was in front of the fireplace, which added ambiance to our evening. After returning to our cabin, we played checkers, a game we had not played since our children were young, it was fun to do something so familiar yet often forgotten. Our breakfast was hearty and yummy, and then off for another hike before we said goodbye. It was definitely a place we would like to return to, at least once per year.

I'd been wanting to visit Murphin Ridge literally for years and finally was able to get there in November 2011. While it was the restaurant's reputation that most interested me, it turned out that the food was the least of the pleasures there. We stayed in a cabin, which was so wonderful, I'm sure it was worth the extra $ compared to a guest room. (The whirlpool and fireplace were highlights, but the whole experience was the height of comfort.) Dinner was good, but breakfast was outstanding. We will return, I hope, again and again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Murphin Inn. We arrived late, but the office in the main office/restaurant was open until 9:00. At check-in we were offered a cup of coffee and there were cookies waiting in our cabin. We enjoyed the fireplace in the spacious room. The next morning, the breakfast was delicious...fruit, muffins, eggs, ham, seasoned potatoes, yogurt, granola, juice and coffee. The breakfast room was so charming! The grounds were beautiful, with hiking trails available. The staff was friendly and gracious. We would definitely stay here again.

It's like being transported away to a magical place where every detail is taken care of for you. It's in pristine Amish country where it's peaceful and you can see a whole sky full of stars at night. We love the king cabins with the fireplaces, spa baths, little kitchenettes, and king sized beds. We love the food - everything is delicious. We love the service. We love the owners. Our stay at Murphin Ridge was beyond amazing! What a great way to celebrate our anniversary - the perfect spot to reconnect and fall in love all over again! The surroundings are beautiful, calm and peaceful and the trails on the Inn property are wonderful. It's also close to really great hiking areas and antique and Amish stores. However, the best part for me was probably the food - as a vegan, it's hard for me to eat out. I usually end up with a salad. However, when I made Sherry aware of my dietary needs, she and Chef went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations, making me some of the most delicious vegan meals I have ever tasted. The room was lovely, very clean, nice gas fireplace with a beautiful view of the sun rising in the morning. The innkeepers are friendly and very accomodating. The food is outstanding. With breakfast included in the price, it is a really great value. Highly recommend staying here for a peaceful and beautiful getaway!!

Our stay was amazing. The food was exceptional and the easy atmosphere made our stay so relaxing. I would love to visit each season. Foggy Bottom pancakes were the best I've ever eaten. Help-what were they cooked in? Butter? Oil? Thank You for making this treat to ourselves so special! Can't wait to return and bring friends!

Looking for the ultimate "Inn" experience? Murphins Ridge is it! From the soup and salad to the dessert, the food was out of this world! The rooms and cabins (I had relatives stay in two of the cabins) were super clean and very comfortable. The Innkeepers Sherry and Darryl were outstanding and made us feel like lifelong friends after just 5 minutes, you can tell they really love their role as Innkeepers and take pride in everything they do. I normally don't do surveys or leave feedback but because of my Murphin Ridge experience I felt compelled. Darryl, I loved our breakfast banter, see you next year!

My wife and I are regular visitors to the USA, and have stayed in many hundreds of B&B accommodations across 48 States over the past 20 years. Murphin Ridge Inn was undoubtedly one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. The location is quite exquisite, the grounds extensive, the hosts genial & hospitable, the accommodation (we stayed in My Cabin for 5 nights) was wonderful - clean, light, airy and quiet. Sherry & Darryl made us feel entirely at home - nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

We had our family reunion at Murphin Ridge, and I cannot give them enough kudos. The service was WAY beyond expectations, and the ambiance of both the guest rooms and the cabins is something you just have to experience to fully appreciate. Everyone in my family is now planning on returning at some point in the future. This is out of the way in a remote section of Southern Ohio, but worth the effort to make your way there!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Murphin Ridge Inn for the first time with my sister for our annual sister's getaway. We enjoyed lounging in the pool, hiking the wooded trails, playing Scrabble on the porch, and getting a relaxing massage in our cabin. We made a last minute decision to spend Labor Day Sunday night at Murphin Ridge. This was our first stay in an Inn room as we've spent many other nights in the wonderful King cabins. The room was very nice and we might have liked the bathroom a little better in the room than at the cabins. We were welcomed graciously by all the staff. Sunday night's dinner buffet was wonderful and the next morning's breakfast was terrific. We spent a wonderful, quiet weekend that was a great recharge for the week ahead. Murphin Ridge is a part of our lives and hearts and we stay as often as we can.

This overnight stay was a surprise for my wife on our first anniversary. It worked! She was so surprised and pleased that she shed tears - of joy! The cabin, the flowers in the room, the presents I gave her were over the top, she said. We also enjoyed the two-sided fireplace, the whirlpool tub and the large shower. My wife, daughter, and I spent 2 nights at Murphin Ridge Inn at the close of summer. We had been there before and have always loved it. This time, we parked the car on arrival and let it sit until time to depart. The weather was picture perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, hiking the trails, chatting with other guests, and eating delicious food. Wow.

This was a great place for our 32nd anniversary. We stayed one night but should have stayed at least one more. We will definately return. The dinner was wonderful, but the breakfast was to die for. My wife and I just had the pleasure of celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary at the Murphin Ridge Inn. The experience far exceeded our expectations and quickly moved into a tie at the top of our list for favorite B&B/Inn. It was the perfect blend of historic farmhouse, cozy log cabin and mouth-watering farm-to-table culinary creations. The cabins have been eloquently designed to blend rustic appearance with modern architecture, amenities and comfort. Almost more impressive than the sunken whirlpool tub, two-person rain shower, vast windows and exposed beams and the double sided fireplace, was the immaculate cleanliness of the cabin. I have honestly never stayed in a cabin that didn’t have at least one cobweb. Before drifting off to sleep for my afternoon nap, I stared hard at the ceiling, but never located even one remnant of cabin critters. Other small pleasures about the cabin included a checker board painted on the table, a black hand towel for makeup removal, comfortable bed and pillows, coffee mugs and wine glasses (both came in handy) and well thought out placement of lighting controls and dimmers. Owners Sherry and Darryl McKenney go out of their way to meet and spend time with every guest. Their exceptional hospitality and attention to every small detail is the obvious cornerstone of success that makes Murphin Ridge so well rated and visited. A testament of this success is the number of return visitors that proudly boast the number of return stays that each trip marks. While we sheepishly confessed our “newbie” exposure to Murphin Ridge, we are already looking forward to progressing to the classification of “alumni” for our next visit. After only being home 6 hours, we are already looking for dates on the calendar to return to Murphin Ridge Inn.

My husband & I stayed at the Inn for our 13th anniversary. It's only about an hours drive from our home, but it's a world away. It's peaceful and calming. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was immaculate. We had a view of the fields. The mattress was a little firm for my liking. Or, it could have been that I sometimes don't sleep well the first night away from home. Since it was mid 90's, we decided to enjoy the pool. It was clean & refreshing. We made reservations for dinner & it was SOOOOOOO good. It was really a splurge for us, but it was really worth it. Breakfast was fantastic too. The Inn keepers were awesome. So, my only negative was the mattress. However, I would NOT let that stop me from staying there again. Actually, before we left, we were already talking about the "next time" we come. Great place to get away!!!

My husband and I stayed in the guest house and loved it. The room was great with an excellent view. We watched deer roam the area all throughout the day! The service was great; very friendly and inviting. The food was amazing, we ate breakfast and dinner there for two days and came home fat and happy. The grounds are extremely peaceful and beautiful. We left the grounds to try to do some touristy things but for the most part the immediate Amish shops and hiking tails nearby are all that are worth seeing (better to enjoy the grounds and nearby Amish communities). We plan on coming back to Murphin someday and staying in one of the cabins. We can't wait!

This is a great place for a relaxing and quiet stay. This is ideal if you need a time-out from the pressures of everyday life. They offer Farm to Table weekends where local and home-grown food is served. Remote location. Our stay exceeded our expectations, we can't say enough. We loved this Inn. The rooms are immaculate and cozy. The innkeepers, Sherry and Darryl, are extremely attentive to every whim and need. Every detail has been well thought out down to the umbrella tucked in the closet and stacks of wood for the outside fire pit. We were there to celebrate our very happy engagement and the completion of (my) newly published book. My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary with a 2-night stay at Murphin Ridge Inn. We were pampered the entire time! The food (we ate two dinners, two breakfasts, and ordered box lunches one day as well) was terrific. I truly felt like I was in California with the sophisticated flavors and delicious combinations of home-grown produce and locally raised meat. Our cabin in the woods was gorgeous and oh so clean, and came with free water bottles, cookies, tea, and coffee. In addition, we had ordered a wine, cheese, and fruit tray, which was exquisite. We took part in all the amenities, playing tennis on a newly renovated court, basketball, croquet, shuffleboard, board games in our cabin and the guesthouse common room, and taking a hike on well-marked trails. We also explored Amish country and went to a few local stores. I highly recommend Murphin Ridge Inn for anyone wanting a peaceful and fabulous getaway!

The inn keepers are so personal and make you feel like family. The food is amazing. The views are spectacular and the peace and quiet is rejuvenating. i never want to leave once I get there. My wife and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary in one of the most spectacular cabins. We loved the peaceful walks and hikes on the property. Sherry and Darryl were extremely friendly and made us very comfortable. The food was well prepared and very delicious. We plan return again.

I was looking for a get-away tucked away from the rest of the world and I found what I was looking for. Down one-lane roads is an amazing farm with great cabins, common spaces, and amazing food. They make you feel welcome right away like they have known you your entire life. Amazing get-away spot; I will definitely be returning.

My wife and I spend a wonderful weekennd at the Murphin Inn Resort. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and outstanding acccomidations. The Innkeepers and staff made us feel at home and the the meals were worth the trip. I would recommend the Murphin Inn to everyone. Thanks for a wonderful time.

A great place to stay away from the hustle of todays world. We visited the Serpentine Mound and then came to Murphin Ridge. An early morning walk down the wooded paths prepared us for a wonderful breakfast.

My husband and I spent the night at Murphin Ridge following my mother's funeral in a nearby town. It was a perfect place to be during that time. Beauty, serenity and quiet dinner. Followed by a glass of wine while taking a tearful breath by the evening fire under the stars. Darryl and Sherry dash around lovingly and joyfully serving everyone's need with a pep in their step that tells you they love what they do. I will always remember this stay at Murphin Ridge. We love to stay in the private and beautifully crafted cabins. Our two night stay was so relaxing. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, tasty boxed lunch, and of course, Murphin Ridge's dinner! YUM! Candace was especially helpful and went out of her way to be sure our needs were accommodated. She brewed an evening pot of coffee and met us on the porch with two fresh cups! She even moved a large (and happily noisy) group into a different dining room so that my husband and I could have a quiet dinner. We can't wait to go back!

Awesome get away just 1 1/2 hrs from Cincinnati in the heart of Amish community. Sherry and Darryl make you feel right at home and never stopped attending to every detail to make this the best stay possible. From roses and champagne in the room for our 25th anniversary to gourmet popcorn by the bond fire. The food was amazing and staff wonderful. The only disappointment was my mobile phone worked fine keeping me in touch with work, ha! Looking forward to our next anniversary and chance to visit Murphin Ridge Inn again! Tom & Dana

My experience at the Murphin Ridge Inn was nothing short of heavenly. The food was expensive but you absolutely get more than you pay for. The rooms are also a bit pricey, but the accommodations were relaxing and welcoming. This was the perfect place for a weekend away and I will be returning again, and hopefully soon!

My husband and I stayed in the "Celebration" cabin for our anniversary. It was, without a doubt, the most relaxing time we've had in years. We loved the cabin -- the fresh cut flowers, the comfy chairs, the cozy fireplace -- everything was perfect. And the food! Breakfast was a delightful surprise both mornings -- orange-kissed french toast one day and the fluffiest and most delicious scrambled eggs I've ever had with bacon on the second morning. Darryl, Sherri, and the rest of the staff really go out of their way to make everything wonderful, and they succeed every time. We hope we can come back again soon.
