The Cornerstone

We stayed in the "Front Parlor" on a weekday evening. The room was quiet, clean and comfy for the two of us. We liked the private entrance to the front porch and spent part of the evening just relaxing on the porch. It was an easy 15 minute walk to "Beachy's Chalet for dinner. Brenda made us feel at home and made a great breakfast for us the next morning. She gave us great tips for places to visit. We are already planning a return to he Cornerstone. Two 70ish Seniors .

We love staying at the cornerstone. This was our fourth stay and we look forward to our next one.

We loved our stay at the Cornerstone. Brenda was a gracious host and we would not stay anywhere else in Amish Country. There aren't a lot of places within walking distance of anything in Amish Country, but this is, as it is only a few blocks from downtonw Sugarcreek.

The innkeepers thought of everything. It's a great place to stay. I certainly would return.

The Cornerstone is our homeaway from home. Sugarcreek is a charming place. Brenda and Terry are knowledgeable of the local customs, best spots to visit, and even of the wildlife. Nothing beats the front porch swing and steaming cup of coffee at sunrise.

This B&B was super! The hostess was very attentive and helpful with direction and maps for area attractions The rooms were comfortable and very clean and near attractions in the the area.

Received a warm welcome. Shown all the extra things we might want or need. Notebook gave information on other things in Sugar Creek such as places for evening meal. Made our own selection for breakfast and enjoyed evening on our own. Owner served good breakfast and stayed long enough to answer some question. All in all a very pleasant stay.

This is a very spacious, pristine, comfortable place to stay. We had a very filling delicious breakfast to start our shopping day. I would recommend this B&B.

My wife and I wanted a two day get away that would be relaxing and stress free. The Cornerstone B&B was the perfect place. The Inn Keeper was very kind and accommodating to my wife, she has an allergy to food that contains Gluten and they went over and beyond to make this happen for her. I would recommend a stay at The Cornerstone to anyone. Actually we are looking to go back in October to enjoy the fall colors this year!

The Cornerstone was exactly what we were looking for - a lovely, quiet haven to rest for a night. The hosts were charming and helpful beyond expectation and the accommodations comfortable and spacious. We are also pleased with the charm and peace of the surrounding area. We'd highly recommend the Cornerstone to all.

Nicely decorated, clean, warm and inviting rooms in a very charming town. Easy access to shopping and other attractions in the area. Hosts were very nice, easy to chat with. Breakfast was delicious!

It's centrally located to a variety of Amish activities, shopping and restaurants. Terry and Brenda were also helpful with recommendations of routes and points of interest. Perfect, relaxing weekend!!

Our visit here was a truly restful experience. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Amish country, this was the perfect retreat. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing, listening to the birds, and enjoying the evening breeze. The innkeeper was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I look forward to staying there again. A great deal all the way around!

Our stay at the Cornerstone B&B was a great experience. The B&B was charming on the outside and inside. The bedrooms were spacious and decorated very nicely, each with separate entrances. The owners (Terry and Brenda) were very kind and accommodating. When we needed to leave early in the day for an Amish tour, they served us breakfast earlier than normal. They gave us suggestions for tours, restaurants, and other attractions that we might like. We enjoyed all their recommendations, as well as getting to know about them and their family. We would not hesitate to recommend Cornerstone B&B to family and friends, We hope to return in the future.

Brenda was the perfect hostess! It was out first visit to Ohio's Amish country, and she gave us wonderful suggestions about the "must-sees" of the area. The Cornerstone is beautiful, and the Swiss room was perfect for our group of three ladies. The breakfasts were another major highlight of our visit....so yummy! We didn't have time to see everything in the area, so we will be back and will DEFINITELY make the Cornerstone our home away from home.

A knowledgeable hostess, a clean and spacious room and a great location made this an excellent place to spend a few days in Ohio's Amish country.

From the moment Terry carried in our bags for our two day stay, until after the Brenda's delicious and chatty breakfast time, our girls' time at The Cornerstone was wonderful. Terry and Brenda are very welcoming and helpful with ideas of where to eat and what to visit. The neighborhood was nice and we felt comfortable taking an early evening stroll to walk off our Beachy's restaurant meal. We hope to go back and make this an annual event.

Brenda was a great host and simplified our journey into Amish country! I wish that we could have stayed another night and relaxed a bit. Beautiful home and very comfortable!!

We decided last minute to head up to Amish country for Labor Day weekend. We chose Cornerstone because it was available and the price was great. When we arrived, our host was very welcoming. The place looked great. Sometimes you stay in B&B's which are very outdated (decor), but this was tastefully and comfortably decorated. The room (Front Parlor) was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast both mornings was delicious! The location was also nice because we could walk down the street to a few shops and restaurants. And it was only a short drive to other area attractions. I definitely recommend staying at this B&B if you are in the area.

This B&B was a great place to get away from it all! So clean and we were made to feel at home from the first minute we arrived.The breakfast both days we stayed were delicious and the information Brenda gave us about the area was just what we were looking for.We look forward to returning soon!

From the first hello we were sold on Cornerstone B&B. Brenda met us at the door and welcomed us with a warm smile. The rooms were warm and the bed, very inviting! Breakfast day one, omelets filled to the max with veggies and cheese, ham, fruit and the best coffee in the region. Day two, an Amish or Swiss version of a pancake with fruit jam on top and whipped cream, fruit, sausage links and more coffee! If you go hungry here, it is your own fault! Cornerstone B&B is close to everything yet tucked away in Sugarcreek. You can't go wrong here! Thank you Brenda and Terry, we will be back! Eric and Gina from WV

Stumbled across this listing at the last minute. The home is beautiful and the host was delightful. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone looking to stay in the Holmes county area!

Our hosts were very friendly and offered great sight seeing/shopping advice. Wonderful breakfast in a clean cozy home.

Nice big secluded room with all the amenities. Warm, friendly, and hospitital innkeepers with a great knowledge of the area. Fresh fruit and cinnamon bread french toast with real "Vermont" Maple syrup (yummy)for breakfast. All this and close to town made for a fabulous first B&B stay. Will be back !

our stay was more than satisfactory. the room was clean and comfortable. there was a private entrance available for our use. the inkeeper had a shelf full of movies that were available for us to watch free of charge. she provided us with a home cooked breakfast complete with fresh fruit and coffee. i would reccommend this bed and breakfast to anyone.

Our host made us feel welcome from the start. Suggestions of places to eat and things to see helped us to plan and get the most out of our days. We stayed 4 nights and were treated to a special wake up breakfast each morning that we'll remember for a long time. Our room was clean, comfortable and private. We were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. Brenda was very hospitable. We had a lovely time!

We had a very big room and it was just beautiful. Not frilly - just gracious and comfortable. The owners were very friendly people and made it enjoyable. They gave us lots of inside tips on getting around the area and navigating the busy season efficiently. This is a very nice B&B and we would love to visit again.

Enjoyed this two bedroom B&B. Had a nice front porch to sit or swing on. The innkeeper had to go away on an emergency,so her sister filled in and did a nice job. Maybe missed some of the little things since the owner was not there like cookies and drink upon arrival, but no real complaints.

An absolute amazing place! The Innkeepers - Terry and Brenda - were nicer than we could have dreamed. Beatiful place, nice location, would definitely come again!

My husband and I stayed at the Cornerstone Inn over July 4th weekend, and it was a perfect place to get away from all the holiday festivities and traffic in our home town. I took my husband there as a "mystery" weekend, and he was totally surprised. We were warmly greeted by both Brenda and Terry when we first arrived, and were given the front room with an outside door to the lovely front porch. The room was quite large with a nice size bathroom, comfy bed, and TV. Lots of movies were available to watch, as well as board games to play. It was lovely sitting on the front porch in the morning, drinking coffee, and watching the Amish buggies go by, followed by a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, juice, muffins, eggs and strawberry bread. Brenda can tell you anything you want to know about the Amish and their lifestyle - they are quite interesting and I admire the Amish way of life. We toured an Amish house suggested by Brenda and Terry, ate at a wonderful Amish restaurant, The Good House, went kayaking on the Tuscarawas River, and biked on a rail trail. We had a wonderful weekend - thanks Brenda and Terry (and Chip)!!

Fantastic atmosphere and local knowledge

The Cornerstone is a beautiful historic home and a perfect place to stay and enjoy Amish country. Brenda makes an outstanding breakfast (we had homemade bread pudding with cranberries as a breakfast choice one morning - delicious). Brenda also gave us a fantastic map or the area, suggesting places to visit, and directed us to good areas on the river for kayaking. We visited Sugarcreek the first weekend of October during the Swiss festival. We had a fantastic time tasting cheese and wine, watching the parade that goes right past the front door of the Cornerstone B&B, and watching the Amish buggies go by.

The owners are friendly and helpful and serve a good breakfast. Rooms are comfrotable and clean.

The Cornerstone was the perfectly romantic way to spend our honeymoon. Private rooms and baths, great breakfast, and close to all attractions.

Homey feel, excellent food, good movie selection, the best front porch & swing ever. Nice, quiet town with friendly people.

Easy to find, beautifully landscaped Victorian house. As beautiful inside as outside. Wonderful accommodations, privacy, excellent rooms, convenient and comfortable. A wonderful hostess tops it all off with food and coffee always available.

This is a place I would highly recommend to all my friends and family. We stayed in the Swiss room. It is spacious, clean, quiet, and the bed is very comfortable, not to mention waking up to the smell of fresh ground coffee and a hearty breakfast that leaves you very satisfied to start off the day. At Cornerstone, we enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing. The owners were great tour guides around the areas for hiking and biking also. In fact, they provided bikes if you didn't have one. We liked this place so much that we've gone back already.

We never have stayed at a B&B and will never stay at a motel again. This is a dream come true, for anyone, no matter their age!

Innkeeper, Brenda Franey, was gracious and very knowledgeable about all the activities around Sugarcreek. The house is charming and the rooms are lovely and thoughtfully laid out with all the amenities. Our breakfasts were delicious and made from local ingredients. The location of the Inn is convenient to all the many activities in Amish country. My daughter and I had a very enjoyable visit.

The room we stayed in was comfortable and beautiful. It was our first trip to Amish country, and we were there more for the get a way than for any particular sightseeing objective. Brenda was very helpful in providing us with multiple options for activities, even highlighting maps with suggested stops marked. I don’t stay in bed and breakfasts often, but this experience reminded me that I need to consider the B&B option more. I am definitely going to buy some Cornerstone gift certificates for family members.

This was mine and my husbands first time to Sugarcreek. I found the Conerstone on-line and was not disappointed. What a wonderful B&B. Brenda is a wonderful host. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the food was excellent. I felt like I was at home. We plan on going back and taking the family. Brenda took the time to explain about the area and gave us a map to get around. She suggested we try some of the backroads as the Amish also sell from their homes. What a great suggestion she gave us. We really enjoyed seeing the country side and found some good bargains. We will definetely recommend the Cornerstone to our friends. I can't wait to go back.

We stayed in the Swiss Room August of 2006. We had a wonderful time. A very nice and private location. Just the right touch of services and privacy. We plan to stay there again this fall.

Last August 2006 was our first stay at a B & B. We totally enjoyed our stay here and will be back to Cornerstone. We stayed in the front bedroom by the porch. We could go right from our bedroom to the porch if we wanted to to watch the horse and buggies go past. Our bedroom also had an entrance to the main part of the house. The hostess does an fantastic job. She knows the area along with offering ideas that interest you. Breakfast was scrumptious!

My husband and I enjoyed a quiet rest from all the hustle and bustle, in Aug.2006. It was a private, clean, and wonderful stay. Benda was more than eager to make our stay wonderful. She gave several suggestions as to what are the good attractions to see, and was very accomidating.

I loved the house and its location. The room was wonderful too, and had its own entry. Brenda was very nice- she made you feel so at home. And her breakfasts were delicious. I had a wonderful and relaxing time and would love to go back again.

My sisters-in-law and I surprised our mother-in law for her birthday to a weekend away at "The Cornerstone". The accomodations, meals, and hospitality were impeccable! A must visit for all! Brenda the innkeeper was very helpful,and a wonderful cook to add. Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed at the Cornerstone in Oct,2006. It was a very relaxing enjoyable stay. Brenda is a wonderful hostess- makes you feel at home right away. Breakfast was delicious & room cozy. She even mailed my hubby's PJ bottoms back to us.(No charge). great place!!

Me and my girlfriend stayed there one night and you couldn't ask for a cleaner or nicer place. Brenda treated us like family and the breakfast was great. We also enjoyed the dog as well. We will be going back again soon I'm sure.

My daughters surprised me with a stay in the Swiss room at the Cornerstone for Mother's Day in 2006. We all loved the big, clean, beautiful room with a private bath. All kinds of thoughtful extras were included. Plus we brought back food for a peaceful lunch on the front porch while we watched the quiet life go by. Brenda and Terry are friendly, easy to get to know inkeepers.
