Fitzgerald's Irish Bed & Breakfast offers Irish hospitality in a unique 16-room French Tudor built in 1937. You will be charmed by its unique castle-like architecture. Very different from a hotel, Fitzgerald's Irish Bed & Breakfast was ranked fourth in the U.S. and Canada for best interior design and decor. Fitzgerald's offers four guest rooms, each with private bath. Come and admire the stirring architecture of the common areas indoors or lounge on the sun porch while enjoying the park-like yard to watch the migrating birds. Near Cleveland, Mentor and Kirtland, in Lake County. Just a short drive away are some of the most-visited trails and beaches in the Great Lakes region, along with opportunities to sail, swim, cross-country ski, golf, shop and more. Fitzgerald's Irish Bed & Breakfast is located 30 miles east of Cleveland in Painesville's historic district and is easily accessible from Route 2 or I-90. Our guests return again and again for the hospitality and fabulous breakfasts!

We stayed only one brief night as part of an anniversary celebration, but would definitely come back again. The house is gorgeous architecturally and endlessly interesting in its decor. The room was comfortable and we loved the huge bathroom attached to the Galway. The jacuzzi tub was clean and in perfect working order. Our only complaint would be the softness of the bed because we have back issues and prefer hard mattresses. But perhaps the best part was that we had to leave by 8:30am for a conference and the hosts graciously moved breakfast up by an hour to accommodate us since we were the only ones staying in the house that night. We so appreciate anyone willing to sacrifice sleep on a Sunday morning! And the hot breakfast was well worth it - delicious and filling.

What a beautiful getaway in a small town. Seems like you are far away from everything, yet 20 minutes away is downtown Cleveland. The B&B is beautiful, clean and wonderful host and hostess. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely backyard and the pet ducks.

This was the most incredible Bed & Breakfast! I surprised my husband for his birthday and he loved it too. Food was excellent. The grounds were beautiful! Even though we were close to home we felt we had a true vacation. The woodwork is beautiful! The lace curtains leave the top half of the windows open so the sun shines into the room lighting it up in a quaint way. (No glaring sun on us!) Everything you could have wanted was available. It does have a lot of steps. But for us that was not a problem. Definitely will be coming back for another stay!!
Thank you for your kind review! Tom has been working on improving the yard and landscaping and we just bought new patio furniture. We look forward to seeing you again and hope that you will enjoy the upgrades..

I have stayed here twice for business. They treat everyone with respect and put forth the extra effort to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

We spent 4 nights at Fitzgerald's and it was wonderful! We were in town visiting our son and his family and it was so nice to come back to the house at the end of very busy days and relax. The Bushmill room is beautiful and comfortable. Tom and Debra are wonderful hosts and Tom makes killer scones. could not have chosen a better place to stay! We will be back.

Whenever I travel with work I try to stay at a local B&B. Fitzgerald's is definitely one of my favorites. This was my second stay with Debra & Tom. They are very friendly hosts and easy to feel comfortable around. It had been nearly a year since my first visit but they remembered me and asked about work, remembered that I liked to travel and asked if I had managed to take any new trips, and were more than happy to have breakfast out early for me so that I could get to my job site early as well. I definitely recommend this B&B for anyone traveling in Painesville!

Ham and Egg Breakfast Braid
Our Ham and Egg Breakfast Braid is one of our most requested recipes. A flaky croissant is wrapped around scrambled eggs and a layer of maple cured ham. Most breakfasts are also served with one of Tom's many specialty scones. You will love them!
