The Augusta Rose B&B

Our one night stay at the Augusta Rose was comfortable and pleasant. Ed and Mary greeted us on our arrival and assisted us as we settled in. The Pemberly room and bath with guest bath robes was nicely furnished and perfect for our short visit. This large house is filled with beautiful vintage furniture with some interesting stories. Mary and Ed were wonderful hosts and breakfast was delicious. Our son and his girlfriend were able to join us for breakfast at a modest fee. A sign in the lobby as you enter says something like "Enter as strangers and leave as friends." We certainly felt that was true. We will certainly stay here again when we visit Napoleon.

Lovely place to stay! Ed & Mary were very friendly, and the place was clean and beautiful. There were 3 guests the night I stayed, each of us in separate rooms, and I could not hear either of the other 2. Breakfast was sausage & apples with a puff pancake, breakfast cookies, and fruit. In addition to the bedrooms, there is a shared sitting room with games, a refrigerator & a microwave. This was my second stay in a B&B and it was all more than I was expecting.

I stayed one night in the Pemberley room at the August Rose B&B and was very happy with the room and the service. Mr & Mrs Hoeffel were very nice and accomodating.

My stay at the Augusta Rose B&B was my first ever at a Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed metting and getting to know the owners and enjoyed our stay in a nice room in an older but well-maintained home. My breakfast was not my most favorite part of my stay (an egg and vegetables caserole), but overall, it was a good experience.

Perfectly charming place to have a getaway. It is like cominghome staying with Mary and Ed. The breakfast was delicious, and wemet some very nice people.

We stayed one night here at the Augusta Rose. So glad we stayed here instead of a hotel. Very very clean, excellent breakfast, and Mary and Ed went out of there way to help us in whatever we needed. You can't go wrong here.

After a long day of driving, the Augusta Rose Bed & Breakfast was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Very comfortable and spacious accommodations - we slept great and felt refreshed the next day. Ed and Mary served us a delicious breakfast and we enjoyed visiting with them before we headed out on the next leg of our journey.

Mary and Ed make staying here a pleasure. They have a sign hanging in their foyer that reads, "Enter as strangers, Leave as friends," and that certainly held true for us. They go out of their way to accommodate any needs that we might have. We will definitely stay there again if we are ever in their area.

Had a wonderful stay at Ed and Mary's B & B. Our room was spotless and had many little extras. We knew the area but, they had suggestions for another couple visiting the same weekend. We met long time friends here and had a very pleasant time together. Our bed was very comfortable. Mary and Ed's breakfast was done with lovely settings and wonderful food. Their home is beautiful!

We felt like we were staying at home. So clean, and so fresh. Did not at all have that grimy feeling you sometimes get in hotels. Ed and Mary were wonderful hosts. They left us to ourselves, but chatted pleasantly during breakfast and saw that all of our needs were taken care of. The sitting room down the hall was an added bonus. It was a great little nook to play board games, read, or drink coffee in. We would definitely visit again.

We just returned home from being on the road for two and a half weeks. Many states...many hotels...and one bed and breakfast, The Augusta Rose in Napoleon, Ohio. Our stay at The Augusta Rose Bed and Breakfast, with Ed and Mary, was by far one of the genuine highlights of our entire trip...we are still talking about it. Since we had never experienced a bed and breakfast before, I have to say that the stay was definitely on to remember. There were several of us from different states meeting up for a wedding and it was great to be able to enjoy this with them. The sitting areas made it perfect to get together without the distraction of the usual hotel setting. Mary and Ed were most attentive to our needs and Mary is such a excellent cook. I would highly reccomend this establishment to family and friends, just so they save me a room. HeeHee.

I recently returned to the area to attend a high school reunion. As it turned out, one of the highlights of the trip was staying at the Augusta Rose. This is a beautiful Victorian home that is lovingly cared for by Ed and Mary Hoeffel. The location in Napoleon allows one to walk to the charming and historic downtown. We stayed in the Shore, a room at the end of the hall that has a kingsize bed and private bath. The rainy weekend we experienced allowed us to fall asleep listening to the rain on the roof and we slept wonderfully on the very comfortable bed. Our room (and the entire home) was spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Ed and Mary, are wonderful people that attend to your every need and Mary prepared outstanding food for our breakfasts. There is no question that if we return to the area, we will stay at the Augusta Rose again. I highly recommend this to anyone that is visiting the Napoleon area. I have no doubt that if you stay here, you will want to return.

I stayed in the Shore, and enjoyed a king bed, towel warmer, desk, wi-fi, bath robes. This is the closet lodging to the Campbell Plant, and for the price seems to be the nicest. The breakfast was varied every single day I was there, and my five day stay went smoothly. There's a community room with dining room table,mini fridge, microwave, water jug, and couch. The porch also looks out onto a quiet residential street.

My husband and I had a short one-night stay at The Augusta Rose, but it was wonderful. Our hosts, Mary and Ed, were very flexible about our late check-in and warmly welcomed us when we arrived. Our room was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the heated towel bar in the bathroom! Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed lingering at the table and visiting with Mary and Ed. Beautiful home. My sister & I are welcomed home every time we stay. Ed & Mary are warm, caring & the perfect hosts. The breakfasts are the best. Cooking, ambience & service is excellent. Highly recommend for a wonderful, quiet getaway.

This is a lovely place to stay, even for business travelers looking for something more relaxing than the normal hotel chain. Close to walking trails and downtown area. Ed & Mary are wonderful hosts and I will keep coming back when in town.

My wife and I using two cars are dayhiking the Buckeye Trail around the State of Ohio, and like to stay at a comfortable motel or B&B every night. After over 1200 miles exploring this trail and visiting many different lodgings, we found the Augusta Rose to be the best of all stays. The other reviewers have told the rest of the story. The innkeepers, Mary and Ed attended to our every need. I have no reservations in recommending their fine B&B.

The accomodations are beautiful, the food is creative and delicious - I am a foodie who loves to cook/create and this is a high compliment. Mary even made sure that we had no food allergies or dislikes and accomdated our desire sleep in a bit each day, being busy working women. I had never stayed at a B&B before 2007 and what a wonderful, peaceful, restful place for some ladies who just want to ride our Harleys and chill at the end of the day. Mary went out of her way to make us feel welcome. My riding friend and I stayed for 2008 ride and have 2009 booked at the end of our May stay each time. This year was the first that we met Mary's hubby Ed and he was great, they both make us feel like welcome friends. I hope to take my hubby there sometime, great value for the price.

We stayed in July for our twentith wedding anniversary. We wanted a very relaxed break from our very busy lives. It fit perfect. We could walk downtown, see the sites and enjoy a good meal. The Hostess and Host were wonderful. The answered so many questions about the area and places to see, as well a provided a delicious breakfast every morning.

Relaxing, enjoyed sitting on the porch watching life go by. Plenty to see in the area. Peaceful. Host & hostess wonderful.

Augusta Rose was charming - from the lovely Victorian home, to our invitingly comfortable bedroom, to beautifully landscaped grounds, to the gentle rocking of the gazebo swing, to a delectable breakfast!! There wasn't anything Mary and Ed didn't think of to make our stay perfect.

My husband and I are in our late twenties and we were on a trip up to Cedar Point to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We decided we would like to experience a Bed and Breakfast as we had never done that before. We didn't know what to expect. We looked on-line to find one and the Augusta Rose was by far the best rate we could find. We arrived late Friday night and left early Saturday morning and our only disappointment was that we didn't have more time to stay there! Our room was The Latourelle room and it was so cute and quiant! The bed was the most comforterable either of us have ever been in! The room and private bathroom was super clean and comforterable. They even provided a hairdryer, lotion, Q-tips, and shower gel in the bathroom. Ed and Mary were so nice and Breakfast was very good. My husband's favorite thing for breakfast is quiche and it was like Mary read his mind!! :0) Everything was delightful. We do not have much to compare it too however we just can not imagine any place being better then this! We will return many times!!

If you love good old-fashioned hospitality in a Victorian atmosphere, this is the place for you. The rooms were imaculate; the friendliness and pride of the owners was evident; the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, but not overboard; and the porch and yard were very inviting. This is a very peaceful and restful place to stay.
