Excellent - will definitely stay again!

This was my first time visiting Holmes with a View and it was amazing! I read many of the reviews before booking my weekend stay and they were spot on! It's definitely in the heart of the Amish community, very peaceful, relaxing and clean. There was homemade bread, jam, cinnamon rolls, popcorn, and coffee in the room and I asked for eggs when I was checking in so I had some for breakfast. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the heart of the Amish and/or looking for a relaxing getaway with great views.

Amazing

I can only describe this property as truly outstanding in all aspects. The room was light and airy with panoramic views of the rolling hills and farmland of the Amish countryside. Our evenings were spent on the wraparound porch watching incredible sunsets and listening to the sounds of nature, farm animals and the occasional clop, clop of the horses pulling an Amish buggy. This a property you could enjoy for a very long stay. We will return to this wonderful setting.

Most relaxing vacation ever!

The pictures don't do this place justice. They are nice pictures, but when you put them together with the sounds of nature, OMG! You hear birds all day, the cows roam the pasture, along with the horses. You hear roosters and a peacock! We are birdies and I got to see my first Oriole in person. The room was extremely clean. We got a whole loaf of cinnamon rolls and an amish loaf of bread from a local bakery. There were other goodies in the fridge too. What a great place to truly unwind. It is set right in the middle of where all the amish live, so when they go home, they are all around you. Awsome sounds. I put an outstanding on onsite dining, but there isn't onsite dining. I was just so impressed with everything else.

Cows, horses, rooster, peacock and more nestled in beautiful hills of Holmes county. Our suite has wrap around windows and deck to view and listen to this serene setting. Everything kept up and kept clean. I would gladly have moved right in. Pleasant! Pleasant! Pleasant!

Girls Weekend

4.6 on June 05, 2016

Have always wanted to stay at Holmes with a View and it was a nice as I anticipated. Internet pictures do not do it justice. The Views are amazing. The accommodations are perfect. Decorated in very nice furnishings. The rooms were very clean, linens very nice. There was more than enough room for my girlfriend and I as we rented the two bedroom. Homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were provided for breakfast as well as a Keurig machine and lots of juices, homemade strawberry jam and butter are provide so you can make toast with the homemade bread. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. Stop at Hershberger's on the way there and grab some fresh eggs, stop at the meat store just down the road and grab some bacon for a nice breakfast in the room. Eat at the Amish restaurants if you want the typical Amish food, there are plenty to choose from but if you want a meal you will never forgot be sure to eat at Rebecca's Bistro on rt 39 in Walnut Creek. Plenty of furniture shops/stores to choose from too. Holmes with a View is so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. It's worth the money for sure.

Better every time

Peaceful and Relaxing

5 on June 04, 2016

If you are looking for a peaceful vacation then this is the place to be. The peaceful sounds of the clip clopping of the horse and buggy as they travel takes you back to a time when things weren't so crazy busy. From the huge deck we enjoyed the beauty of the rolling hills and farm communities in the distance. The little round houses are so very nice and comfortable. The refrigerator is stocked with juices, yogurt, butter and even coffee. They have a Keurig coffeemaker with a huge selection of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to choose from. Also a loaf of home made bread, home made jelly and cinnamon rolls were on the counter awaiting our arrival. Fresh brown eggs are given upon request. The bedrooms are awesome, each with it's own bathroom. The living room is very comfortable with a television and DVD player. The television is a little small but who needs television with the beauty that can be enjoyed from the deck! The only thing lacking in this beautiful place would be a freezer. The only freezer available is the top of a mini fridge that holds only 4 ice trays. We had one problem which was the smoke detector started beeping due to a low battery. We reported it and in a matter of minutes John was there and it was fixed. John and Fannie Mae Miller are the owners and are such a pleasure to chat with. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of today's society.
